MRS. ETHEL L. GRAHAM

Mrs. Ethel L. Graham, 74, of the St. Marks community in Meriwether County died Jan. 15, 1997 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.

Born May 22, 1922 in Troup County, Mrs. Graham was the daughter of the late Walter Madison Lawrence and Mamie Kennington Lawrence. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in St. Marks and was retired from Uniroyal Inc. in Hogansville.

Graveside services were held Jan. 17 at Union Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Bob Harris officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Edward C. Graham Jr.; sister, Doris Weaver of LaGrange; nieces and nephews.

MRS. JANIE MAE HAMMONDS

Mrs. Janie Mae Hammonds, 78, formerly of Clarksville, Tenn. died Jan. 5, 1997 at Clarksville Memorial Hospital.

Born June 13, 1918, Mrs. Hammonds was the daughter of the late Hugh Grady Thompson and Sara Zebba Ashley. She was a homemaker.

Funeral services were held Jan. 9 at Coggins Funeral Home in Thomaston with the Rev. Carl Knowles officiating. Interment followed at Valley Grove Baptist Church cemetery with Billy Mullennix, Matt Hammonds, Jamie Davis, Phillip Walsh, Colby Jones and Phillip Hammonds serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her son, Mr. and Mrs. Buddy (Janice) Hammonds; daughters, Jessie Crenshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Mike (Nita) Porter, Mr. and Mrs. Pete (Betty) Betts, Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Janet) Woody; brother, Emmett Thompson of Marietta; sister, Eula Knowles of Tyus; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

MRS. MARY KATE PASCHAL HOSEY

Mrs. Mary Kate Paschal Hosey, 81, of Newnan died Jan. 10, 1997 at Southland Nursing Home in Peachtree City.

Born Aug. 14, 1915 in Heard County, Mrs. Hosey was the daughter of the late Heber Clifford Paschal and Claudie Lee Adams. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Hosey was preceded in death by brothers, Brewer Lee Paschal and Paul Paschal, and sisters Cliffie Jackson and Lucille Paschal.

Funeral services were held Jan. 13 at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Eley and the Rev. Dorsey Bingham officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery with David Hosey, Chuck Hosey, Mike Parmer, Jeff Doller, Gene Paschal and Jimmy Adams serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her husband Frederick B. Hosey; sons, Freddie Hosey Jr. of Austell, Jerry Hosey, Mike Hosey, both of Franklin; and brothers, Johnny Paschal, Starlin Paschal, both of Franklin, Bonnie Paschal of Stone Mountain.

MR. HARVEY CLINTON KEE

Mr. Harvey Clinton Kee, 75, of Millard Farmer Road in Newnan died Jan. 13, 1997 at his home.

Born Aug. 4, 1921 in Newnan, Mr. Kee was the son of the late Abner and Mattie (Payton) Kee. He was a retired driver for Ryder Trucking and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Mr. Kee was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Kee and Bill Kee; sisters, Betty Kee and Eula Mae Kee; and a grandson, Harvey Kee.

Funeral services were held Jan. 15 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Grady Jones officiating, assisted by minister Lindsey Herndon. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan with Richard Key, Wayne Kee, Darren Kee, Clint Murphy, David Murphy, Bobby Cardwell, Roy Lee Scott and Matt Phillips serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Astalee (Jones) Kee; sons, Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Carolyn) Kee of LaGrange, Mr. and Mrs. Danny (Mattie) Kee, Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Nancy) Kee, all of Newnan; daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John (Karey) Murphy of Luthersville; brothers, Clifford Kee of Covington, Albert Kee of Hogansville; sisters, Florence Haynes, Fannie Pearl Gaddy, both of Newnan; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ophelia Keith of Newnan passed away Jan. 15, 1997 at Twelve Oaks Healthcare Center in Riverdale.

Mrs. Neely McCoy, 61, of the Cooksville community in Heard County died Jan. 16, 1997.

MR. NICHOLSON IRA MORGAN

Mr. Nicholson Ira Morgan, 75, 0f Du Pont, Ga. died Jan. 8, 1997 at his home.

Born Aug. 18, 1921 in Laurel, Miss., Mr. Morgan was the son of the late Ira Morgan Jr. and Verna (Nicholson) Morgan. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was retired from Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, Tenn.

Mr. Morgan was a member of the Baptist faith. he was a graduate of George S. Gardiner High School in Laurel, Miss. He was a member of the track team in high school and at Louisiana State University.

Mr. Morgan entered preflight school in Randolph Field, Texas in 1943 and was named a cadet captain. He graduated from Aloe Army Airfield in Victoria, Texas and served as a flight instructor during World War II with the rank of second lieutenant.

Funeral services were held Jan. 11 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Chapman officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill cemetery with Scot Gates, Lee Griffies, Clint Henry, Michael Williams, Mitchele Williams and Jason Henry serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Smith Morgan; sons, Doug Morgan of Atlanta, Harold Morgan of Woodstock; daughters, Dianne Morgan of St. Petersburg, Fla., Cindy Morgan of Gainesville; stepdaughters, Pat Gates of Auburn, Ga., Angie Henry of Newnan, Carol Millians of Newnan, Paula Booker of Montevello, Fla., Suzanne Rawls of Du Pont, Gail Smith of Franklin; grandchildren, Ashley Morgan and Emily Morgan of Woodstock; sister, Thelma Myrick of Laurel, Miss.; 13 step-grandchildren; nieces and a nephew.

MRS. FANNIE MAE SCREWS PHILLIPS

Mrs. Fannie Mae Screws Phillips, 84, of Newnan died Jan. 14, 1997 at Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan.

Born Aug. 11, 1913 in Hazelhurst, Ga., Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of the late Lester and Ola McDonald Phillips. She was the widow of Frank Screws and Lester Phillips and was a homemaker.

Funeral services were held Jan. 14 at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carlie Neece and the Rev. Mickey Huey officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery with John Right, Randy teal, Danny Teal, Terry Teal, Benji Screws, Ray Screws and Dwight Combs serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her daughters, Audrey Bates and Reba Wright, both of Culman, Ala.; sons, Ray Screws, Gary Screws, both of Culman, Ala., Ross Screws of Newnan, Ted Screws of Hogansville; sisters, Louise brown of Charlotte, N.C., Roberta Brown, Clara Clouse, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Bonnie Hannah and Janette Huff, both of Madison, Ga.; 20 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

MR. MARION T. POLLARD

Mr. Marion T, Pollard, 62, of Sharpsburg died Jan. 16, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born March 23, 1934 in Fayette County, Mr. Pollard was a retired builder and a member of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services were held Jan. 17, at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Franklin Treadwell officiating. Interment followed at Line Creek Baptist Church cemetery with David Maxwell, Daniel Goodman, Danny Goodman, Mike Pollard, Sonny Pollard and Doug Pollard serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Pollard; stepchildren, Tammy R. Goodman of Senoia, James Darryl Roberts of Fayetteville, Luther Roberts Jr., of Gainesville; mother, Lillian Pollard of Newnan; brother, Lewis Pollard of Tyrone; and six grandchildren.

MRS. HATTIE MAE SPRAYBERRY

Mrs. Hattie Mae Sprayberry of Boynton Beach, Fla. and formerly of Newnan died Jan. 12, 1997.

A native of Coweta County, Mrs. Sprayberry spend most of her life in the county. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Newnan.

Funeral services were held Jan. 16 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Searcy Jackson officiating. Interment followed at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter Harriett S. (Leon) Weekes of Boynton Beach; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

MRS. MARJORIE SPRAYBERRY

Mrs. Marjorie Sprayberry, 90, of Newnan died Jan. 10, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born Dec. 31, 1906 in Coweta County, Mrs. Sprayberry was the daughter of the late Sumner E. Smith and Ada (Brooks) Smith and the widow of Brice Brantley Sprayberry to whom she was married for 73 years.

Mrs. Sprayberry was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Newnan.

Funeral services were held Jan. 12 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Parrish officiating, assisted by the Rev. John Freeland. Interment followed at Oak Hill cemetery with Tim Bennett, Ryan Bennett, Elliott Kelley Jr., Clifford Cason, Donald Cason and Duke Ferrell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Max Sprayberry, Jimmy Sprayberry, Donald Sprayberry, Bill Pinson and Bordene Sprayberry.

Survivors include her daughters, Morelle Lassetter of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Virginia) Cox of Lawrenceville; sister, Frances Cason of Sharpsburg; grandchildren, Tim Bennett of Carrollton, Carolyn Kelley of Newnan; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

MRS. RUTH WILKERSON

Mrs. Ruth Wilkerson, 68, of Senoia passed away Jan. 10, 1997 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

Born May 1, 1927 in Gregory, Ark., Mr. Wilkerson was the daughter of the late Nathan and Martha (Fields) Wilkerson. She was a member of Walnut Grove Church in Gregory and later joined Tabernacle Baptist Church in Chicago, Ill.

Mrs. Wilkerson was preceded in death by sisters, Emma Rella (Wilkerson) Williams and Rosetta Maggie (Wilkerson) Raymond, and brother, Jeff Napoleon Wilkerson.

Mrs. Wilkerson held a nursing degree and was a licensed funeral director and embalmer. She was married to Nathaniel Askew.

Funeral services were held Jan. 14 at Sellers-Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. W.T. Edmonson officiating. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her daughters, Narvene and Grace; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and godchildren.
