MRS. BETSY ANN (FLORA) LYON

Mrs. Betsy Ann (Flora) Lyon, 59, of Racine, Wis. died Aug. 26, 1997 at University Hospital in Madison, Wis.

Born April 19, 1938 in Sterling, Ill., Mrs. Lyon was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Keever) Flora. She was a graduate of DePauw University and was the complex manager for Green Bay Meadows.

Memorial services were held Aug. 29.

Survivors include her children, Misti Kane of Anaheim, Calif., Michael (Christine) Moss of Beaver Dam, Wis. grandchildren, Kyle Moss, Emily Moss; brother and sister-in-law, Jon (Vicki) Flora of Racine; sister and brother-in-law, Debby (Wayne) Dye of Newnan; and nieces and nephews, Marci Flora, Cindy Flora, Tom (Kelly) Flora, Jennifer Allwine and Josh Allwine.

MR. MARVIN OGLETREE

Mr. Marvin Ogletree, 50, of College Park passed away Aug. 22, 1997 at South Fulton Medical Center in East Point.

Born Jan. 10, 1947 in Coweta County, Mr. Ogletree was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Sargent. He served 11 years in the U.S. Army and earned a degree in music from Florida A&M University.

Mr. Ogletree worker for 24 years at Owens Corning Fiberglass Co. as a production manager.

Funeral services were held Aug. 27 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. M.D. Brittian Jr. officiating, assisted by the Rev. J.W. Russell Sr., the Rev. Felton James and the Rev. Roy Zachery. Interment followed at Sunset cemetery in Newnan with the Central High School Class of 1964 serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Ogletree; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ogletree; sons, Jeffery Ogletree, Denovious Barnes; daughter Keisha Ogletree; brother, B.L. Ogletree and family; sister, Bonnie King and family; one grandchild; nieces and nephews.

MRS. JANE CROLEY SPRADLIN

Mrs. Jane Croley Spradlin, 51, of Jonesboro died Aug. 25, 1997 at Southern Regional medical Center in Riverdale.

Born Sept. 11, 1945 in Atlanta, Mrs. Spradlin was a graduate of West Georgia College. She earned a master's degree in early childhood education from Georgia State University and was an instructional lead teacher at Edwin S. Kemp Elementary School in Clayton County.

Mr. Spradlin was a member of Jonesboro United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Aug. 27 at Jonesboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry newton and the Rev. Dean Kring officiating. Interment followed at Myrtle Hill cemetery in Hogansville.

Survivors include her husband, Ira C. Spradlin Jr. of Jonesboro; daughters and son-in-law, Amy Spradlin of Atlanta, Lara and Kirk Dial of Jonesboro; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Leslie Spradlin of Marianna, Fla.; mother and father, Betty and Daniel Croley of College Park; sister, Ginger Blackstone of Tyrone; granddaughters, Victoria Leigh Spradlin of Marianna, Kadi Jane Dial of Jonesboro; nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

MR. WILLIAM KENDALL WAGER

Mr. William Kendall Wager, 83, of Wynn Street in Newnan died Aug. 27, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born Aug. 20, 1914 in Coweta County, Mr. Wager was the son of the late Thomas J. Wager and Willie (Dyer) Wager.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Kraft Foods.

Funeral services were held Aug. 29 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Fleming officiating, assisted by the Rev. Bill Dean. Interment followed at Westview cemetery in Atlanta.

Survivors include his nephew, Mr. and Mrs. James A. and Cindy Boone of Newnan; niece, Betty Storey of Sampson, Ala.; and other relatives, Helen Goins, Debbie Daniel, both of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Johnson and Carolyn Johnson of Palmetto.

MR. KETIH BARTON

Mr. Keith Barton, 36, died Aug. 24, 1997.

Funeral services will be held Aug. 30 (today) at 1 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home.

Survivors include his daughter, Ashley Barton of Uvalda; father, George Barton of Canton; mother, Ginny Adams of Newnan; brother, Russell Barton of Canton; sister, Belinda Arrington of Newnan; nephews, Lee Calhoun, Will Arrington, Taylor Barton; and nieces, Stephanie Barton, Kristine Barton, Elizabeth Arrington, and Melody Arrington.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Coweta County chapter of the American Heart Association.

MR. A.C. COOK

Mr. A.C. Cook, 71, of Westside School Road in Newnan passed away Aug. 20, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born July 20, 1926 in Coweta County, Mr. Cook was the son of the late Lloyd and Classie Cook. He was a member of Westsie Church of Christ and was employed with the City of Newnan for 35 years until his retirement in 1991.

Funeral services were held Aug. 23 at Westside Church of Christ with brother Havis Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery with Phil Dixon, Ernest White, John Keith Sr., Todd Rhodden and Jim White serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, George Mae Cook; step-son, Luckie Snead; sister-in-law, Johnnie Mae Cook of Newnan; mother-in-law, Liza Russell of Seals, Ala.; brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Jackson of Seals; cousins, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Cook, Jennie Mae Arnold, Emma Mae Johnson, Janie Mae Cook of Newnan; nieces and nephews.

MRS. ANNIE L. BAILEY DERRING

Mrs. Annie L. Bailey Derring of Newnan passed away Aug. 23, 1997 at Newnan Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Sellers-Smith Funeral Home.

MR. DWANE DURDEN

Mr. Dwane Durden, 41, of Miami Beach, Fla., formerly of Newnan, passed away Aug. 18, 1997 at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 19, 1955 in Newnan, Mr. Durden graduated in 1973 from Newnan High School, where he was active in 4-H. He later attended Rhinehart College in North Carolina before joining the U.S. Navy. After an honorable dicharge, he briefly lived in California before settling in Miami Beach.

Mr. Durden was a designer of woodwork.

Memorial services were held Aug. 23 at Sellers-Smith Funeral Home.

Survivors include his mother, Willisteen Reese Graddic; grandmother, Alice Street Reese; sisters, Janice Durden Black of California, Charlette Durden Hand of Peachtree City; brother, Lamar Brister of Newnan; niece, Charlyce Hand; nephews, Roderick Moseley, Jeffrey Moseley, Marcus Hand and Christopher Hand.

MRS. DOROTHY EVANS

Mrs. Dorothy Evans of Paces Landing Way in Newnan passed away Aug. 22, 1997 at DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Sellers-Smith Funeral Home.

MRS. EULA CAMMON HALL

Mrs. Eula Cammon Hall, 90, of Carrollton, formerly of Newnan, died Aug. 22, 1997.

Born May 17, 1907 in Carroll County, Mrs. Hall weas the daughter of the late William and Mattie Williamson Thornton. She was a retired winder operator with the Bibb Company and a member of Sargent Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Aug. 25 at Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel with the Rev. Clarence Burnham officiating. Interment followed aty Sargent Baptist Church cemetery with Joseph Paul Cammon, Jeffery Cammon, Steven Bridges and Jeffery Free serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Joyce and Andy Tolliver of Jacksonville, Fla., Wilma McBride of Newnan; son, Joseph Paul Cammon of Atlanta; step-daughters, Mabel White, Melba Adams; sisters, Adell Cottle, Nell Kinney, Ruth Buckner, Vera Robinson; nine grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

MR. BENNETT KENNEDY

Mr. Bennett Kennedy, 72, of Berry Avenue in Newnan died Aug. 24, 1997 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home in Atlanta.

Born Nov. 19, 1924 in Woodland, Ga., Mr. Kennedy was the son of Alto B. Bennett and Mary Irene Gullage. He was a retired p[ainter and maintenance worker with the Coweta County Board of Education.

Memorial services were held Aug. 26 at Pitts Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Blanche Kennedy of Newnan; daughter, Vickie A. Knnedy of Riverdale; sons, Donnie B. Kennedy of Moreland, Jeffery S. Kennedy of Newnan; brothers, Jimmy Kennedy of Rex, Clyde Kennedy of Waco, Texas; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

MRS. NANCY SUE PHILLIPS

Mrs. Nancy Sue Phillips, 84, of Greenwood Circle in East Point died Aug. 21, 1997 at Southwest Christian Hospice.

Born Dec. 4, 1912 in Coweta County, Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of the late Thomas Fred Phillips and Ophelia Eugenia (Smith) Phillips. She was retired from the U.S. Army.

Graveside services were held Aug. 24 at Oak Hill cemetery with the Rev. Don Helms officiating.

Survivors include her sister, Ruby Inez Phillips of East Point; sisters-in-law, Helen Phillips of Newnan, Joyce Smith Phillips of Sargent; nephew, Richard J. Phillips of College Park; nieces, Hilda P. McWhorter, Debra Phillips Spavone, Dura Kissel, all of Newnan; great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, Ga., 30291.
