MR. TYRONE DAVIS CONNALLY

Mr. Tyrone Davis Connally, 21, of Newnan passed away Aug. 10, 1997.

Born Oct. 4, 1975 in Coweta County, Mr. Connally attended Newnan High School.

Funeral services were held Aug. 15 at Mt. Sanai Baptist Church with the Rev. C.W. Martin officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ronnie Washington, the Rev. Guy Prather and the Rev. Johnny Coleman.

Interment followed at Summer Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Moreland with Terry Anderson, Kary Parks, Stacy Connally, Rodney Brown, Mario Martin, Marlon Martin, Donnell Hinton, Undray Pittman, Jajuah Stargell and Anthony Davis serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his father, Joseph Ward; grandmother, Alma Ward; sisters, Linda Moreland, Shelia Smith, Brenda Parks, Jossette Whatley, all of Newnan, Annetta Ward of Atlanta; brothers, Larry Connally, Hosea Connally, Ray Connally, Edward Connally, Wesley Tuck Joshua Whatley, Jonathan Whatley, all of Newnan; sister-in-law, Kerri Connally; brothers-in-law, Nathaniel Smith, Kary Parks, Lynne Jackson; aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie (Roberta) Melson, Janie Anderson, Lilly Ward, Dora Ward, Canera Robinson; uncles, James Zackery, Robert Zackery, Curtis Ward, Edmond Ward; nieces and nephews.

MRS. MILDRED B. FINCHER

Mrs. Mildred B. Fincher, 83, of Martin Street in Newnan died Aug. 11, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born Sept. 18, 1913 in Franklin, Mrs. Fincher was the daughter of the late John Milton Barrett and Hattie Irene (McClain) Barrett and the widow of Frank Fincher. She was a member of Welcome Road Baptist Church and a housewife.

Funeral services were held at Welcome Road Baptist Church with the Rev. David Dixon officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dwight L. Moody. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan with Randy Pettigrew, Mike Pettigrew, Scott Pettigrew, Ricky Collins, Chris Collins and Greg Fincher serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her daughter, Louise Pettigrew of Newnan; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Delbert Collins of Newnan; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Carolyn Fincher of Newnan; sisters, Laura Crockett of LaGrange, Ethel Edge of Houston, Texas, Dot Golden of Newnan; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

MRS. MARGARET McRITCHIE HOLLIS

Mrs. Margaret McRitchie Hollis, 87, of Athens died Aug. 9, 1997 in Athens.

Born Jan. 15, 1910 in Newnan, Mrs. Hollis was the daughter of the late Thomas Berry McRitchie and Annie E. (Askew) McRitchie and the widow of Howell Hollis.

Mrs. Hollis attended local public schools and Brenau College, where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Athens and a member of the Junior Ladies Garden Club.

Graveside services were held Aug. 12 at Oak Hill cemetery with the Rev. Gary Parrish officiating.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jeff Hollis of Peachtree City, Mrs. William McRitchie of Phoenix. Ariz.; brother-in-law, Dr. Mark D. Hollis of Lakeland, Fla.; nieces and and nephews, including Edgar Hollis of Newnan.

MR. JOHN ANDREW 'JOE' HUDSON

Mr. John Andrew "Joe" Hudson, 71, of Country Club Road in Newnan passed away Aug. 7, 1997 at his home.

Born April 12, 1926, Mr. Hudson was the son of the late Johnny and Rosa Hudson He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Peterson, a son, Clifford A. Hudson, a brother, Duria Hudson, and a sister, Inez Almond.

Mr. Hudson was a member of Powell Chapel United Methodist Church, where he served on the board of ushers and was a member of the United Methodist Men, the Promise Keepers, Prayer Band 1 and the United brotherhood.

He also was superintendent for the Unity Sunday School and served as church treasurer and janitor.

Mr. Hudson was retired from Atlanta Gas Light Company and later owned his own lawncare business.

Funeral services were held Aug. 12 at Powell Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. R.W. Sutton officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert Melson, pastors Gary L. Taylor, Willie L. Geter, Crawford Smith, Wayne Thompson and minister Emory Hawkins.

Interment followed at Eastview cemetery with the United Methodist Men serving as pallbearers and the United Brotherhood serving as honorary pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Susie Walton Hudson; sons, Johnny W. Hudson of Newnan, Ronnie E. Hudson of Waycross, Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Hudson of College Park, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Walton of Fairburn; daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie M. (Jackie) Hall of College Park, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie (Linda) Herring of Newnan, Vera Hudson of Atlanta; granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. David (Shelia) Laird; brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Willie L. Hudson, James T. Hudson, all of Newnan; parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Willie G. Walton, Dorothy Hudson of Newnan; 28 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

MR. LEWIS ORR 'BUD' POWELL JR.

Mr. Lewis Orr "Bud" Powell Jr., 78, of Sewell Mill Road in Newnan died Aug. 13, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born April 12, 1919 in Newnan, Mr. Powell was the son of the late Lewis Orr Powell Sr. and May (Herring) Powell and the husband of the late Betty (Brown) Powell. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Newnan and a car salesman.

Funeral services were held Aug. 14 at McKoon Funeral Home with Dr. Gene Tyre officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill cemetery with David Boyd, David Camp, Bobby David, Hank Powell, Mitch Powell and Herbert McKoy serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his daughter, Josephine Powell Goodstein of Orlando, Fla.; son, Lewis O. Powell III of LaGrange; brothers, Asa Powell of Newnan, Bill Frank Powell of Albany; son Roy Brown Powell of Newnan; and four grandchildren.

MR. WILLIAM RALPH SCHAUB

Mr. William Ralph Schaub, 76, of Newnan died Aug. 8, 1997 at the VA Hospital in Atlanta.

Born Nov. 19, 1920 in Pittsburgh, Penn., Mr. Schaub was the son of the late William George and Sarah Anna Livingstone Schaub. A retired U.S. Army Sgt.-1st Class, he was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of the Columbus-Ft. Benning Masonic Lodge #579.

Retired from the army after 35 years, Mr. Schaub was a veteran of Word War II, Korea and Vietnam. He received the Bronze Star and the Oak Leaf Cluster.

Graveside services with military honors and Masonic rites were held Aug. 12 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Janice S. Schaub of Newnan; sons, William R. Schaub Jr. of Fayetteville, Roy Schaub of Salem, Ala., Kurk Schaub of Leonard, Miss.; step-daughter, Benita L. Boswell of Newnan; step-son, H. Madison Shirley of Phenix City, Ala.; brothers, James Schaub, Edward Schaub of Richlands, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

MRS. BOBBIE CANNON SHAW

Mrs. Bobbie Cannon Shaw, 81, of Newnan died Aug. 11, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born Oct. 19, 1915 in Eatonton, Ga., Mrs. Shaw was the daughter of the late Elmer Cranston Cannon and Minnie (Thacker) Cannon and the widow of Jake Shaw. She was a retired sale employee.

Funeral services were held Aug. 13 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Holder officiating. Interment followed at Crest Lawn cemetery in Atlanta.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, John and Bobbie Carr, Marion and Pat Wells, all of Newnan; and grandson, Ty Crowe of Newnan.

MRS. GENEVA IRWIN WINGO

Mrs. Geneva Irwin Wingo, 74, of Hogansville died Aug. 11, 1997 at Providence Hospital in Mobile, Ala.

Born Oct. 27, 1922 in Fulton County, Mrs. Wingo was the daughter of the late Robert and Exer Smith Irwin. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and a former employee of Uniroyal Inc. and Hogansville Pharmacy.

Funeral services were held Aug. 14 at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Dr. Jimmy Brown officiating. Interment followed at Myrtle Hill cemetery in Hogansville.

Survivors include her husband, George C. Wingo of Hogansville; daughters, Paulette H. Pittman of Mobile and Arlene Fetter of Grantville; step-daughter, Kaye Lindsey of Hogansville; step-son, Dr. Calvin Wingo of Anniston, Ala.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

MR. MICHAEL E. ADDISON

Mr. Michael E. Addison, 48, of LaGrange died Aug. 8, 1997 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Originally from Coweta County, Mr. Addison was a member of Callaway Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and choir director. He was engineer with Playtex International.

Funeral services were held Aug. 10 at Callaway Baptist Church with the Rev. Sid Shelnutt, the Rev. Udell Addison and the Rev. Corky Addison officiating. Interment followed at Meadoway Gardens.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Addison of LaGrange; sons, Ben Addison and Jason Addison, both of LaGrange; daughter, Melissa Addison of of LaGrange; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cranford Addison of Newnan; brothers, the Rev. Corky Addison of Bremen and Scott Addison of Newnan.

MR. WILLIAM VICTOR BAILEY

Mr. William Victor Bailey, 86, of Newnan died Aug. 1, 1997.

Born July 29, 1911 in Winder, Mr. Bailey was retired from Eastern Airlines and was a member of Palmetto Baptist Church and the Palmetto Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by by his wife, Louvale Jackson Bailey.

Graveside services were held Aug. 3 at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn with the Rev. Greg George officiating.

Survivors include his children, Gloria Dean Wiley of LaFayette, Stanley Bailey of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Emory (Faye) Bailey of Cleveland; grandchildren, Vickie, Jenny, Julie, Steve, Mark; and eight great-grandchildren.

MR. WILLIE LEE BARNER

Mr. Willie Lee Barber, 34, of Pinson Street in Newnan passed away Aug. 4, 1997 at his home.

Born Dec. 15, 1963, he was the son of the late Amos Barner. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Aug. 9, at Sellers-Smith Funeral Home in Newnan with the Rev. Paul Campbell officiating, assisted by the Rev. Larry Bonner and the Rev. Willie Roy Pace. Interment followed at Eastview cemetery with Roderick Barber, Leonard Barber, Leon Dorsey, Carlton Morrow, Bobby Alford and Malcolm White serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his mother, Earlene Barner of Newnan; sisters, the Rev. and Mrs. Paul (Marion) Campbell of College Park, Rosa Barner, Amey Barner, Katie Barner, all of Newnan; brothers, Jimmy L. Barner, Willie A. Barner Jr., both of Newnan; aunts, Jennie B. Pace of Newnan, Joann Houston, Lethan Bryant, both of Decatur; uncles, Jerry Barner, Myron Houston, both of Decatur, the Rev. Willie Roy Pace of Newnan; brothers-in-law, the Rev. Paul Campbell of College Park, Booker T. Barber, Carlton Morrow, Kimmy Lee Grier, all of Newnan; nieces and nephews.
