Leonard Morrisson Whann, Jr.

Mr. Leonard Morrisson Whann, Jr., age 74, of Hampton, Georgia died September 30, 2007. He was born in Wilmington, Deleware the son of the late Maria Germaine Lenhoff and Leonard Morrisson Whann, Sr. Mr. Whann served his country in the US Navy. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he was a member of the ATO, a professional artist, musician and the Set Director of the Wilmington Opera Society in Deleware.

Survivors are his wife, Maryann Smeyda Whann of Hampton; children, Chistopher Alan and Patti Gray Whann of Glens Falls, New York, Gregory Adam and Karen Boskemper Whann of Tustin Ranch, California, and Kara Maria and Timothy Kelckner of Hampton; grandchildren, Jonathan Ezekiel and Jessica Tyler Kleckner of Hampton, Trisha and Ronnie Kupferwasser of New York, New York, Tracy Timmons-Gray of Seattle, Washington .

Services for Mr. Whann will be held later in Deleware. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make contributions to The Benedictine School Foundation, 14299 Benedictine Ln., Ridgely, Maryland 21660. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Donna Kay Jones Pesce

Mrs. Donna Kay Jones Pesce, age 36, of Locust Grove, Georgia died October 1, 2007. Mrs. Pesce was born in Chicago, Illinois. Donna enjoyed her family, decorating and making flower arrangements.

Survivors are her husband, Anthony Pesce of Locust Grove; children, Brittany Jordan Eastman, Maria Nicole Pesce and Carmen Janell Pesce all of Locust Grove; parents, Deborah Williams , and George Jones, both of Locust Grove; brother, Michael Jones of Tennessee; nephew, Zack Jones of Tennessee.

Services were held October 5 at St. James Catholic Church with Msg. Terry Young officiating. Entombment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangments.

Elizabeth Elaine Shores

Elizabeth Elaine Shores, age 58, of McDonough, Georgia died October 3, 2007. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Elizabeth Elaine Shores was a strong, proud and beautiful southern woman. She was faithful to all attitudes and traditions that led to the creation of the term "Southern Bell." Elaine was an avid supporter of all forms of artistic expression and sought to share that joy with friends, family, and her students. She is dearly missed by all she touched, loved as a Mother, Grandmother, Daught-er, Sister, Aunt, Friend, Educator, and Faithful Southern Bell. Ms. Shores was preceded in death by her father, William Shores.

Ms. Shores is survived by her sons, Michael Godlewski of Kennesaw, Bryan Godlewski of Park City, Utah; grandchildren, Nicole Valencourt and Theodore Godlewski, both of Kennesaw; mother, Elizabeth Shores of Suwanee; sister, Gayle Matson of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held October 7 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Dudley Rose officiating. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Michael Eugene Johnson

Michael Eugene Johnson, Sr., age 45, of Ellenwood, Georgia died October 4, 2007. He was born in Atlanta. He was owner/operator of Mike Johnson Pools. Mr. Johnson enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and especially loved the ocean and the beach. He was an avid NASCAR fan and just recently acquired a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles. But most important to him was family.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Cindy Wills Johnson of Ellenwood; children, Lindsay Nicole Johnson of Rex, Michael Eugene Johnson, Jr. of Camilla, Micah Reid Johnson of Albany; Courtney Paige Johnson (Gary) Maines of Newnan; parents, Albert Eugene and Evelyn F. Johnson of Rex; sister, Dawn (Chip) Sumner of Locust Grove; niece, Jessie Sumner; nephew, Chase Sumner; and best friend, Scott Betsill.

Funeral services were held at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Pastor Mike Creasman officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Eleonara Adeline Miller Vollrath

Mrs. Eleonara Adeline Miller Vollrath, age 90, of McDonough, Georgia formerly of La Porte, Indiana died October 4, 2007. Mrs. Vollrath was born in La Porte, Indiana to the late Andrew Miller and Emma Parr. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in La Porte where she sang in the choir for 50 years and was also involved in many more church related activities. Mrs. Vollrath was the Executive Secretary to the President of Kingsley Furniture in La Porte for more than 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Martin William Vollrath.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Vicky Vollrath of McDonough; grandchildren, Todd and Christina Vollrath of Moscow Mills, Missouri, Lori and Mark Wilhelm of Windermere, Florida; great grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Sydney, and Morgan Vollrath all of Moscow Mills, Missouri; step sister, Joan and Joseph Stromer; sister-in-law, Jeanette Darby.

A prayer service was held October 5 with Pastor George Earhart presiding. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 212 Laurel Trace, McDonough, GA 30253 in memory of Mrs. Vollrath. Interment La Porte, Indiana. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Patrice Grey Puster

Patrice Grey Puster, age 61, of McDonough, Georgia died October 5, 2007. She was born in Marietta, to Thomas Charles and Bernice Louise White Grey III. Mrs. Puster was a special education teacher at Dutchtown High School. She graduated from Mercer University in 1967 with a double major in Sociology and Psychology and did her graduate studies in special education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mrs. Puster was a passionate animal lover, a member of Save A Pet, Inc. in Forsyth, and once served as the on camera spokesperson for the organization. She enjoyed traveling, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and most of all a friend.

Mrs. Puster is survived by her loving husband of 41 years Steve Puster of McDonough; daughters, Kim Puster of McDonough, Kathy (Herman) Thompson of Swainsboro; son, Robert (Kelly) Puster of Elkhart, Indiana; grandchildren, Katie Thompson of Swainsboro, Cole Puster, Bailey Puster, and Jordan Puster, all of Elkhart, Indiana; mother, Bernice W. Grey of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The American Lung Association of Georgia, 2452 Spring Road, SE, Smyrna, GA 30080. Cannon Cleve-land Funeral Directors incharge of arrangements.

Isabelle Josephine Clark
Mrs. Isabelle Josephine “Betty” Clark, age 66, of McDonough, Georgia died September 20, 2007. She was born in Michigan to the late William M. and Bertha May Vernon Sayles. Betty retired after 25 years with Owens-Illinois; was the secretary of the Greater Atlanta British Motorcycle Association; was a member of the Eastern Star; had an artistic masters degree in ceramics and was an accomplished oil painter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lee Clark on August 28, 2007.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn Ballantyne of Woodstock, Dianna Yarbrough of Atlanta, and Tony Clark of McDonough; 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers, Vernon Sayles of Arizona and Charles Sayles of Michigan.
Services were held September 30 from the chapel of Haisten
Funeral Home with Pastor David Riley officiating. Please make contributions to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, GA 30253 in memory of Betty Clark. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

R. Russell Hightower
R. Russell Hightower, age 75, of McDonough, Georgia died September 24, 2007. Mr. Hightower was born in Miami, Florida, the son of the late John and Maude Hightower. Russell was a member of McDonough Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon, Elder, Clerk of the Session, and member of the choir. He retired from the Coca Cola Corporate Office and was a Veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the US Army. Russell was a loving husband and father and he adored his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raleigh Hightower; and sister, Louie Culham.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Ann Ausband Hightower; daughter, Holly H. (Rick) Dubois of McDonough; son, Rusty (Louisa) Hightower, Jr. of Savannah; grandchildren, Emma, Hannah, Russ, Jackson and Lillie; sister, Lucile Gemes of Atlanta; and brother, Si Hightower of Ormond Beach, Florida.
Services were held September 26 at McDonough Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dudley Rose, Rev. Randy Calvo, and Rev. Rachael Knoll officiating. The family requests donations be made to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, Georgia, 30253; McDonough Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir, 427 McGarity Road, McDonough, Georgia, 30253; or Kelley Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 3637 Airline Road, McDonough, Georgia, 30252. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
