MRS. OLA BELL WHITE

Mrs. Ola Bell White, 94, died March 24, 1997 at Starcrest of Newnan.

Born June 11, 1902 in Alabama, Mrs. White was the daughter the late Jake and Mary (Patterson) Daugherty and the widow of John Henry White. She was a member of Mills Chapel Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Funeral services were held March 26 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. F.D. McWhorter officiating, assisted by the Rev. Bill Dean. Interment followed at Oak Hill cemetery in Newnan.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeanette White McBurnette of Newnan; sisters, Grace Sewell of Union City, Cleo Jablonski of Key West, Fla.; granddaughter, June Sewell of Newnan; great-grandchildren, Julie Couch, Jay Sewell, both of Newnan; and great-great-grandchildren, Amber Couch, Trey Sewell and Autumn Couch, all of Newnan.

MRS. BERNICE E. DASH

Mr. Bernice E. Dash, 67, of Deep South Road in Senoia passed away March 21, 1997 at Newnan Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Sellers-Smith Funeral Home.

MR. DANNY OLIN DUNCAN

Mr. Danny Olin Duncan, 43, of Brandy Lane in Newnan died March 21, 1997 in Newnan.

Born April 10, 1953 in Georgia, Mr. Duncan was employed as a store clerk by CBS Foods Stores.

Graveside services were held March 23 at Oak Hill cemetery in Newnan with the Rev. Paul Dennis officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Pete Phillips, Gerald Gaddy, James Kent, Michale Neal, Abner Gaddy and Jose Lara.

Survivors include his father, William H. Duncan; mother, Evelyn (Reynolds) Duncan; ex-wife, Charlotte Duncan of Newnan; daughters, Christy Duncan, April Duncan, both of Newnan; sons, David Duncan, Tony Duncan, both of Newnan, William Duncan, of Perry, Fla.; brothers, Joey Duncan, Rodney Duncan, both of Newnan; and five grandchildren.

MR. EDWARD LEWIS MITCHELL JR.

Mr. Edward Lewis Mitchell, 16, of Wallace Gray Road in Newnan passed away March 23, 1997 at Grady Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Sellers-Smith Funeral Home.

MRS. AMORIE PETTIGREW

Mrs. Amorie Pettigrew of Newnan died March 17, 1997 in Powder Springs.

Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Hulyn Smith of Valdosta, Mrs. Robert Daniell of Mapleton, Ga.; sisters, Mrs. Frank Smith of Palmetto, Mrs. Avernell Tanner of Union City, Mary Milan of Newnan; sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Watt of Newnan; brother-in-law, Elbert Smith of Palmetto; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, Ga., 30291.

MRS. ELIZABETH GAYLE WILSON

Mrs. Elizabeth Gayle Wilson, 81, of Sunny Hills, Fla. and formerly of Newnan died March 19, 1997 at her home.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Woodroe Wilson, and a daughter, Betty Campbell.

Funeral services were held March 21 at Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Warren officiating. Interment followed on March 22 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan.

Survivors include her son, Dennis Monroe Wilson of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter, Deborah Lee Wilson of Sunny Hills; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

MRS. EVELYN HUTCHINS CAMERON

Mrs. Evelyn Hutchins Cameron, 87, of Hays, N.C. died March 5, 1997 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center in North Wilkesboro, N.C.

Born Aug. 22, 1909 in Kent County Delaware, Mrs. Cameron was the daughter of the late Emmett Hardcastle and Florence Ethel Willis Hutchins and the widow of Ivan Brown Cameron Sr.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of North Wilkesboro.

Funeral services were held March 10 at Trader Funeral Home. Interment followed at Lakeside cemetery in Dover, Del.

Survivors include his son, Ivan B. Cameron Jr. of Newnan; daughter, Gladys Goff of North Wilkesboro; sister, Gladys Felix of Wilmington, Del.; brothers, James Hutchins, Homer Hutchins, Gilbert Hutchins, all of Dover, Carlton Hutchins of Laure, Del.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

MR. ORREN VINCENT FOWLER

Mr. Orren Vincent Fowler of Newnan died march 14, 1997.

Memorial services were held March 16 at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Zaworski officiating. Private interment services followed later.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Z. Fowler of Newnan; daughters, Susan Unsell of Lancaster, Calif., Patricia Cawthorne of Broken Arrow, Okla., Jennifer Lockett of Kuna, Ind.; step-daughters, Bonnie Stafford of Good Hope, Mary Jean Searcy of Newnan; step-son, Rodney Winter Jr. of Powder Springs; mother, Althea Matzke of Minnesota City, Minn.; and brother, Robin Miller of Iowa.

Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 760 Washington St. S.W., Atlanta, Ga., 30315.

MR. JOE LOUIS "PAP" WHITAKER

Mr. Joe Louis "Pap" Whitaker, 59, of Roberts Road in Newnan passed away March 17, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.

Born July 5, 1937 in Harris County, Mr. Whitaker was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Hamilton.

Funeral services were held March 21, 1997 at Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Maddox officiating, assisted by the Rev. Thomas Lewis and the Rev. Felton James. Interment followed at Eastview cemetery with Penniston Arnold, Willie Matthews, Carlos Matthews, Rudolph Owens, Darrell Matthews and Larry Pinson serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Whitaker; children, Millette Whitaker, Eric Whitaker, Altomeise Whitaker; brother, Willie Whitaker Jr. of Atlanta; sisters, Ethel Pearl of Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Carrie) Pinson of Dayton, Ohio, Patricia Matthews of Newnan; grandson, Mondel Whitaker; aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews.

MRS. LUCILE McGAHEE BURTON

Mrs. Lucile McGahee Burton, 85, of Line Creek Road in Senoia died March 17, 1997 in Riverdale.

Born Aug. 23, 1911 in Coweta County, Mrs. Burton was the daughter of the late Zachary England McGahee and Mamie (Crawford) McGahee and the widow of Posey E. Burton. She was a member of Haralson Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Graveside services will be held March 19 (today) at 3 p.m. at Haralson Baptist Church with Dr. William Suttles officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Survivors include her sister, Ruth Raines of Senoia, and brother, Grady McGahee of Senoia.

MR. LEWIS "PEEWEE" CROWLEY JR.

Mr. Lewis "Peewee" Crowley Jr., 53, of Linch Road in Turin died March 17, 1997 at Columbia Peachtree Regional Hospital.

Born Sept. 9, 1943 in Fulton County, Mr. Crowley was the son of the late Lewis Crowley Sr. and Mary Lee Crowley. He was a masonry contractor and owned a stock race car.

Graveside services were held March 18 at Senoia City cemetery with the Rev. Ron Whitlock officiating.

Survivors include his son, Michael and Becky Crowley of Senoia; wife, Melba Jo Johnson of Turin; step-children, Vicky Johnson of Franklin, Tewanna Cantrell of Hogansville, Christy Parker of Whitesburg; sisters, Darlene Rojas of Palmetto, Hattie Black of Douglasville, Sue Haire of Palmetto; and brother, Marion Crowley of Fairburn.

DR. MARVIN RUSSELL EVANS

Dr. Marvin Russell Evans, 81, of Decatur died March 14, 1997 in Decatur.

Born Oct. 26, 1915 in Coweta County, Dr. Evans was the son of the late Alvan Russell Evans and Julia (Haynie) Evans. He was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church and was affiliated with Decatur First United Methodist Church.

A retired professor from Valdosta State College, Dr. Evans was a published poet and a gardener.

Funeral services were held March 16 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating, assisted by the Rev. Sherl Walls. Interment followed at Southview cemetery in Moreland with Eugene Smith, Ebbert Evans, Williams Jackson, E.V. Puckett, David Wilson and Jerry Evans serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Calla Hydrick Evans of Decatur; daughter, Martha Evans of Avondale Estates; daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carey (Susanne) Smith of Marietta; sisters, Sadie Hall of Decatur, Ollie Evans of Moreland, Edna Floyd, Helen Baggott, both of Newnan; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, Ga., 30319.

MR. MARVIN EUGENE EDGE

Mr. Marvin Eugene Edge, 79, of Christian City in Union City died March 11, 1997 at Southern Regional Hospital.

Born Sept. 22, 1917 in Toccoa, Mr. Edge was the son of the late Balos Murphy Edge and Addie Martin (Williams) Edge. A member of Valley Hill Baptist Church, he was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a retired electrician from R.D. Cole Manufacturing Company and Kliklok. He was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

Funeral services were held March 12 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Travis Eidson officiating, assisted by Lawrence Cole and the Rev. Rick Duncan. Interment followed at Oak Hill cemetery in Newnan.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Fae (Bledsoe) Edge; son, Ferrell Edge of Newnan; daughter, Ann (Wallace) Hardy of Pine Mountain; step-children, Lajuana (Buddy) Pope of Carrollton, Miriam (Harold) Hubbard of Franklin, Lawrence Cole of Little Rock, Ark.; sisters, Mrs. Jackson (Mae) Stephens of Newnan, Mrs. Eugene (Helen) Williams of Royston; brothers, Roy (Beverly) Edge of Sharpsburg, Harry (Sherry) Edge of Forest Park, E.C. (Frauline) Edge of Newnan; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
