ur beautiful son, Robbie Baldoni, went to be with our Lord on Monday December 11, 2006 at the age of 12. Robbie was a wonderful child who was intelligent beyond his years and shone with endless happiness and laughter. He loved and lived life to its fullest. He was a protector and leader to his brother Alex, sister Chloe, and cousins Walker and Payton. Everyday of his life, our hearts grew with limitless love and pride for our son. He planned to be a millionaire professional skateboarder and live in San Diego while he drove his Lamborghini. Robbie loved riding his skateboard with his friends, endlessly bouncing his basketball, video games, chili dogs, spicy food, alternative rock, his dog Bullet, dreams of forming his own band, doing the “ Robot,” gymnastics, 4-H Club, political debates, books, his motorcycle, and most of all talking and talking and talking.

Calvin E. Stribling
Calvin E. Stribling, age 54 of Loganville, died Friday, December 8, 2006. Memorial Services were held at 11 AM Tuesday, December 12, 2006 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Stephen A. Brown officiated. He was Owner Operator of Dekalb Steel until 1996, Mr. Stribling was a school bus monitor for Walton County School for 2 years and for the last 2 years was a Wal-Mart Associate in Monroe. He was an avid sports fan and very active with Loganville Youth Football (GFL). Mr. Stribling is survived by Companion: Robin Stribling; Children: Jason C. & Michelle Stribling, Robert E. Stribling, Aundrea D. & Chris Lea, all of Loganville; Brothers: Robert E. Stribling, Fort Collins, CO; David O. Stribling of Bradenton, FL.; Sister: Kayla Jones of Windsor, CO. Memorials may be made to: United Cerebral Palsy, 1600 L Street NW, Ste 700, Washington, DC 20036.

Dewey Ferguson, 68 of Madison, died on Dec. 6, 2006. He was born in Uayne County, TN on April 12, 1938 to the late James Earl Ferguson and the late Ruby Parline Wright. He was preceded in death by his brother, the late Junior Ferguson.

Perry H. Chastain, 51 of Monroe died on Dec. 7, 2006 at Heartland Hospice in Conyers. He was born on June 25, 1955 to the late William Allen Chastain and Gertrude Hansford Chastain. He was preceded in death by his brothers: the late Roy Chastain, the late Charles Chastain and the late Ricky Chastain.

Ellen Peters of Newborn died December 2, 2006 at Newton Medical Center, at the age of 53. The daughter of the late George and Violet Garrett Hasting, she was a homemaker, mother and grandmother who enjoyed astronomy, yard sales, gardening, art, poetry and music. She was a 1993 graduate of San Antonio College, earning an Associates Degree in Paralegal studies. Mrs. Peters also enjoyed sightseeing and caring for pets. Preceding her in death were her brother and sister-in-law, Dennis L. and Ginny Hasting.

Mary Alice Sloan, 87, of Monroe died November 29, 2006. A native of Morgan County, she was a daughter of the late George F. and Idelia Bexley Jones. She had attended Berry College and Draughon Business School and was married to William C. Sloan until his death. A retired employee of the Walton E. M. C. , she was a member of the Monroe First Baptist Church.

Jack Vaultee Miller
Jack Vaultee Miller, 81, of Monroe died November 30, 2006. Born in Hanson, KY, he attended the University of Tennessee and later served in the U.S. Navy. He was retired having worked as a construction superintendent for U.S. Steel Corp. and was instrumental in the erection of the Houston Astrodome, the New Orleans Superdome, the Omni International, the Woodruff Arts Center and the Wachovia Bank. Atlanta. At the demolition of the Omni International, he was honored by the Mayor of Atlanta for his contributions to the Atlanta skyline. He was a member of the Chattanooga Polo Assn. and was a Formula Ford Grand Prix driver. He won numerous First Place Grand National Racing Awards including the Road Atlanta Fall National. He was a former member of the Monroe Golf and Country Club, a member of the holy Cross Anglican Church, Loganville, a recent candidate for the Monroe City Council and after retirement, continued as a consultant to the Coca Cola Co.

Lewis Emerick, 64, of Monroe died November 30, 2006. A native and life long resident of Walton County, he was the son of the late Paul Edward and Dorothy Grace Mobley Emerick. He had attended Walton County schools and was veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors and was a member of the Monroe First Baptist Church and the Fergus Masonic Lodge # 135 F & AM. He was a former volunteer fireman.

He had resided in Monroe for 10 years moving from Stone Mountain. He was an employee of Bill Teeter Custom Trucks. Funeral services were held January 31, 2007 in the chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home. The Rev. Kelley Teague officiated and interment was in Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dr. Joe Franklin Phelps
Dr. Joe Franklin Phelps was 84 years old, born in Decatur, GA. raised in Decatur and attended Decatur High School. Joined the Navy on September 1, 1942 serving aboard the Destroyer USS Jenkins during World War II. This highly decorated destroyer served with the USS Fletcher, USS French, USS McGinty and the Pacific Reserve Fleet San Diego, California. Joe Phelps received the following World War II Medal awards: American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, European African Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, World War II Victory Medal.

Ida Elizabeth 'Betty' Brooks, 81, of Monticello died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007. Her parents were the late William Howell Brady and Corrie Griffith Brady Davis of Madison and later Buckhead, GA. Her beloved sister, Frances Brady Anderson, of Atlanta predeceased her. Mrs. Brooks was born in Madison, GA. May 26, 1925 and was always proud to call Madison her hometown. She graduated from Madison High School in 1942. She attended business school in Atlanta and later traveled to Hawaii where she worked in the Civil Service. She married the love of her life while in Hawaii in 1945.

Mrs. Laurie Upshaw Hale of Social Circle died January 31, 2007. She was born May 1, 1910 in Social Circle, the daughter of Ruby Cook Upshaw and Sanders Upshaw. Mrs. Hale was devoted to her family and to her church, the First Baptist Church of Social Circle. She was preceded in death by her husband: Fred Charles Hale, with whom she operated Fred C. Hale Grocery in Social Circle for many years. She was a member of the Social Circle Garden Club, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army and was retired from General Motors. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

Jerry Meredith and the Rev. Rusty Ruark officiated. Burial at Loganville Memorial. A resident of Walton County for many years, Mrs. Harrison was a member of Loganville First United Methodist Church. She is survived by: brothers and sisters-in-law: J.P. and Lois Dean Harrison, Thomas and Shirley Harrison, all of Loganville; sisters: Viola Benton, Stockbridge, Lucille Griffeth, Loganville; sister and brother-in-law: Geneva and Claude Wilkerson, Loganville; several nieces and nephews.

MSgt. Richard Griffin Keesee, USAF (Ret)
MSgt. Richard Griffin Keesee, USAF (Ret) Richard Keesee, Warner Robins, 78, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2007. Mr. Keesee was born on April 24, 1929 in Baltimore, Md. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A career veteran, MSgt. Keesee retired from the United States Air Force after earning his rank of MSgt. He served during the Vietnam Era and the Korean Conflict. MSgt. Keesee was a Bronze Star Recipient. In addition to his military career as a Jet Engine Mechanic, he also retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base where he was employed as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic. MSgt. Keesee loved his family and took great pride in time spent with them. He was an avid race car fan, enjoyed fishing, and wood crafting. His parents, Richard and Ann Keesee, and sister, Rita Delmonico, all preceded him in death.
