Darrell Lamar Burgess, age 58, of Monroe died July 17, 2010. A native and life long resident of Walton County, he as born on August 12, 1951 to the late Lindbergh Burgess and the late Catherine Bray Culpepper Burgess Stowe. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Still Burgess of Monroe; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Burgess and Jennifer Nacey of Marietta and Nathan and Shanon Burgess of Atlanta; grandson, Harrison John Burgess of Marietta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Richard Beal of Madison, Joan and Howard Skelton of Hoschton, Sheila and Mickey Fambrough of Penfield, Treva and Tim Peters and Tina and Steve Hix of Monroe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doyle and Kay Burgess of Monroe and Perry and Angie Burgess of Jefferson and other relatives.

Lillian Dobbs
Lillian Dobbs, age 94 of Stone Mountain, died on July 22, 2010. She was born in Greene County to the late Jesse E. Lynch and the late Carrie Josie McKinley Lynch. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Clarence Wesley Dobbs; and daughters, the late Elsie Dobbs Burn and the late Peggy B. Dobbs. She is survived by her son, Thomas W. (Sylvia) Dobbs of Loganville; daughter, Bobbie Dobbs Puckett of Snellville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, July 25, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Interment followed at Sewell United Methodist Church cemetery in Morgan County. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Daniel Edward McIntyre, Sr., age 60 of Monroe, died on July 14, 2010. He was born in Monroe to Dorothy Casper McIntyre Clay and the late Daniel Merlow McIntyre. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela McIntyre of Charleston, SC and Malena McIntyre of Savannah, TN; sons, Patrick McIntyre of Augusta, Daniel E. McIntyre of Monroe; mother, Dorothy Clay of Social Circle; sisters, Barbara Ann Skinner of Jersey, Donna McIntyre of Winder, Vicki McIntyre of Winder; brother, Jerry McIntyre of Monroe; and several grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Brother Thomas Taylor officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Darrell Burgess, age 58 of Monroe, died on July 17, 2010. He was born in Athens on Aug. 12, 1951 to the late Lyndburgh Burgess and the late Catherine Bray Burgess Stowe. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, July 21, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Dr. Dane Wagner officiating. Interment followed at Westlawn Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Eddie “Monroe” Banks
Eddie “Monroe” Banks, who was born on March 6, 1954 at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, passed away at Walton Regional Medical Center on July 20, 2010 at the young age of 56. Eddie was preceded in life by his father, A.W. Banks of Monroe; and his mother, Barbara Banks also of Monroe. He leaves behind a brother, Arthur Banks of Sarasota, FL; sister-in-law, Marilyn Banks also of Sarasota, FL; a niece, Melissa Banks of Coral Gables, FL; and his former wife Patsy Banks of Monroe, and step-daughter, Amy.. A graveside service was held in Monroe on July 22 at Hill Haven Cemetery. The family would like to thank all of Eddie’s friends for their love and friendship over the years.

Lucile Fai
Lucile Fain age 87 passed away on Wednesday July 21, 2010. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Loganville, with Richard Jenkins officiating. Interment Bay Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Fain was a member and a Sunday school teacher at Bay Creek Baptist Church. She worked for Red Fox in Monroe and was retired from Kuppenheimer Clothiers in Loganville. Preceeded in death by her husband, Watson Fain in 1986 and stepdaughter, Linda McBrayer. She is survived by her children, Judy and Raymond Boss, Loganville; step-children, Gerry Gann, Conyers; John Fain, Acworth; brother, Carson Waits, Roswell, six grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren. Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Loganville, was in charge of the arrangements.

Margaret Cox, age 92 of Monroe, died on July 17, 2010. She was born in Fayetteville on April 28, 1918 to the late Willie Harris and the late Sarah Betsil Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Alfred Cox. She is survived by her daughter, Eva Cox of Monroe; sons, Charles Cox of Social Circle and Bobby Cox of Monroe; sister, Katie Harris of Fayetteville; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, July 20, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Lonnie Blackmon officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Charles W. Jacobs
Charles W. Jacobs, 83, of Riverview, FL, a native of Franklin, NC, died July 16, 2010. Preceded in death by his only son, Reese, he is survived by his daughter-in-law, Louise, grandson, Aaron, granddaughter Jessica, and great granddaughter Cassidee all of Monroe, as well as grandson, Zachary (Amanda) and granddaughters, Autumn and Willow of Morrow, Ga. He is also survived by two brothers, Leonard (Sara) of Pensacola, FL, and Harry of Riverview, FL, one sister, Jeane Mallard (Harvey) of Gibsonton, FL. Charles was a Navy veteran and spent his career years in Atlanta as a hairstylist. No service is planned and the family requests no flowers. Mrs. Lessie Pauline Malcom, age 84 of Social Circle, passed away July 15, 2010. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 17, at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Malcom officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Malcom was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Howard Malcom. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Kathy Malcom of Social Circle; grandchildren, Brian Malcom of Social Circle, Jill and Adam Hardigree of Bogart; several nieces and nephews. Tim Stewart Funeral Home, St., Monroe, was in charge of the arrangements.

Bessie Morrow, 93, of Social Circle died on Sept. 8, 2010. She was born on Aug. 25, 1917 in Rutledge to the late Emmie Studdard and the late Homer Lee Studdard. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Clarence B. Morrow. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Ann Morrow of Loganville; grandchildren, Nancy and Jason Maddox of Oxford; Joy and Sandy Needham of Monroe; great grandchildren, Ansley Maddox and Hudson Grey Maddox, both of Oxford; sister-in-law, Frances Morrow Tucker of Social Circle; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Terry Paul “T-Bone” Duren, Sr.
Terry Paul “T-Bone” Duren, Sr. Terry Paul “T-Bone” Duren, Sr., of Winder, passed away Sept. 9, 2010, at the age of 56. He loved working with wood, and was a self-employed framer for 32 years. Mr. Duren loved his church family and friends, but more than anything he was a devoted husband, daddy, Papaw, son, and brother. He was preceded in death by his daddy, Harold D. Duren, Sr., and his brothers, Charles William (Bill) Duren and Jefferson Nolan (Jeff) Duren. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Dianne Duren of Winder; daughters and sons-in-law, Faye Sheryce Duren of Winder, Sonia Gayle and David Attaway of Bethlehem, Stephanie Lynn and Jackie Sanders of Covington; son, Terry Paul Duren, Jr., of Bethlehem; mother, Peggy U. Watts of Jersey; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sheila and Arnold Dysart of Covington, Susan and Johnny Whittington of Conyers, Brenda Odem of Covington, Linda Skinner, Martha and Chris Skinner, all of Conyers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold D. Jr., and Diane Duren of Covington, George and Bobbie Duren, Jerry and Lorelei Duren, all of Conyers, Lamar and Judy Duren of Covington, Jimmy and Tracy Duren, Steve and Beth Duren, Marvin Duren, all of Conyers; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cristine Wilson 44, beloved daughter of Linda Edenfield and the late Rudolph Edenfield; sister of Timothy Tangredi and Regina Wilson; nephews and one niece, passed away on Tuesday Aug. 31, surrounded by her family and friends. Services will be at Saint Anna’s Church on Spring Street in Monroe, Friday, Sept. 3 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Christine’s name may be made to the Local American Cancer Association.
