Miss Lucy Johnson
Miss Lucy Johnson, 87, of Louisville entered into rest on Monday, May 17, 2010, at Gibson Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Union Bethel Baptist Church in Louisville, with Rev. Bobby Williams Sr. assisting. Interment will be in the Jordan Place Cemetery.
Miss Johnson was born in Jenkins County on Oct. 19, 1922, to the late Willie and Clara Johnson. She was a member of Union Bethel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jack Johnson, Louise Symra and Ike Johnson.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Allen Thomas of Jacksonville, N.C., Aaron Thomas (Phyllis), Melissa Thomas, Antonio Thomas (Lawanda) and Ginger Thomas, all of Louisville, Shirley James (Hayden) of Whidbey, Wash., and Rekayl Simpkins of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; sister-in-law, Betty Johnson of Midville; nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ike McGee, Horace McGee, Allen Thomas Rickey McGee, Antonio Thomas, Aaron Thomas, Jack Johnson Jr. and Willis Ashberry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cleveland Johnson, Johnny McGee, Craig Alexander and Gregory Alexander.

Mrs. Alma Zoda Turner Davis of Wadley entered into rest on Sunday, May 16, 2010.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at 2 p.m. at San Clair Baptist Church, Wadley, with Rev. A.C. Epps officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Muriel Douglas Davis, Albuquerque, N.M., and Herbert Desmore, Silsbee, Texas; nieces and nephews, Marion (Pastor Tommy) Johnson, Wadley, Katherine Swint, Louisville, Velma Rogers, Charles Turner and Willie Turner, all of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Evon Walton, Wadley; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. James M. “Jim” Faglier
Mr. James M. “Jim” Faglier, 83, of Augusta entered into rest on Monday, May 17, 2010, at University Hospital
Mr. Faglier was a native of Avera, and had lived in the Augusta area since 1951. He served in the U.S. Army for three years and retired after working with Civil Service for 31 years as an instructor at the Signal School. Mr. Faglier was a member and Deacon of Fleming Baptist Church and member of the W. Cave Sunday School Class. He was also a member of Green Meadows Golf Club and Forest Hills Golf Club.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at Fleming Baptist Church, with Rev. Billy Atkins officiating. Interment was private.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores M. Faglier; daughter, Patricia “Ricia” Collins of Augusta; son, James “Jimmy” Faglier Jr. of Augusta; stepdaughters, Teresa LaChance of Albuquerque, N.M.; Celina LaChance of Smyrna; stepson, John LaChance of Atlanta; grandchildren, Courtney Delgado (Robert), Brittany Faglier, Kaylee Faglier and Austin James Faglier; step-granddaughter, Rio Click; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Faglier (Grace) of Louisville, and Edward Faglier (Beverly) of Carrolton; sisters, Anne Manning of Louisville, Linda Manning (Russell) of Louisville, and Faye Miller (Jerry) of Jesup.

Mr. Welton “Chuck” Holley, 81, of Wrens entered into rest on Monday, May 17, 2010, at his residence.
Born to the late Annie Prescott and Park Holley, Mr. Holley was a life-long resident of Jefferson County. After 31 years of service, he retired from Georgia Kaolin. Chuck was a past deacon and a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held in the James Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at 11 a.m., with Rev. John Jenkins officiating. Interment followed in Wrens Memorial Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by five siblings, Ada Hood, Doretha Hood, Mildred Cowart, Agnes Aldridge and William J. Holley.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mildred Arrington Holley; five children, Larry Holley, Alan Holley (Debbie), Janet Parker (Billy), Wrightsville, Tommy Holley (DeAnn), Mitchell, and Cathy Tiner (Ronny); three siblings, Henry Holley (Gloria), Augusta, Eva Hobbs and Barbara Crutchfield (Forrest), all of Thomson; 10 grandchildren, Adam Holley, Victoria Parker, Jessica Murphy, Amy Holley, Joshua Holley, Joseph Parker, Curtis Tiner, Lee Holley, Leslie Holley and Daniel Tiner; one great-granddaughter, Emma Ruth Murphy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Holloway was the son of the late Isaac and Hattie Holloway.

Mrs. Gloria Ann Rountree Wilcher Johnson
Mrs. Gloria Ann Rountree Wilcher Johnson, 72, of Twin City entered into rest on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Emanuel County, the daughter of the late George Ivy and Annie Louise Sconyers Rountree, a homemaker, and a member of Euphrates Primitive Baptist Church in Glascock County. She was a member of the Order of the Easter Star No. 462, and had retired from Jefferson County Senior Transportation.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, Swainsboro, with Elder Tommy Rountree and Elder Gary Johnson officiating. Interment followed in the Louisville City Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents; second husband, William Harold Wilcher; third husband, William R. “Billy” Johnson; grandson, George William Lindsey; and brothers, George Robert and James Allen Rountree.
Survivors include her son, John Michael “Mike” (Nancy) Ridgdill of Twin City; daughter, Deborah (Don) Lindsey of Pleham; daughter raised as her own, Melissa Guinn of Twin City; granddaughters, Michelle Lindsey Shoe of Pelham, Stephanie Ridgdill Matthews of Twin City, and Kristina Lindsey of Pelham; grandson, John Michael Ridgdill Jr. of Twin City; great-grandchildren, James Clayton Akins and Anna Morgan Lane, both of Twin City, and William Timothy Shoe of Pelham; sister, Mary Edith White of Twin City; brothers, John Emmitt (Lynn) Rountree, Elder Tommy (Dottie) Rountree and Don W. Mr. Kitchens was born in Jefferson County and had lived here all of his life. He retired from Thermo-King with 38 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist

Mrs. Margaret Hall Little
Mrs. Margaret Hall Little, 83, of Wadley entered into rest on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Jefferson Hospital in Louisville.
Mrs. Little, a lifelong resident of Jefferson County and Wadley, was retired from Oxford Industries and sold Avon products for more than 39 years. She was a member of the Wadley Baptist Church, where she was a member and treasurer of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She was a member of WMU.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Wadley Baptist Church, with Rev. Rusty Manning and Rev. Tom Harrison officiating. Interment followed in the Wadley Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit T. Little Sr.; parents, James Marcus and Thelma Hall; and a sister, Carolyn Hall Huchtin.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Jones (Randall), Martha Mays (Floyd) and Cecelia Dye (Bruce); son, Kermit Little Jr.; two brothers, James Marcus Hall III (Julia) and Don E. Mrs. Carrie Wren Veal Oliver, 101, of Wrens entered into rest on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at her residence.
Born to the late Dessie Young and Benjamin Franklin Wren, Mrs. Oliver was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. She was a member of Wrens United Methodist Church for 86 years.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010, at James Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Stan Littleton and Rev. J. Scott McKinney officiating. Interment followed in Wrens Memorial Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Briscoe W. Veal and James H. Oliver; daughter, June V. Holbrook; five brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Patty Veal Kitchens (White); a son-in-law, Hoyt Holbrook; four grandchildren, John White Kitchens, Thomas V. Kitchens, Harriett Holbrook and Danny Holbrook; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. James W. Paul
Mr. James W. Paul of Wrens entered into rest on Monday, May 17, 2010.
Mr. Paul was born to the late Orie Johnson and John Roy Paul in Jefferson County. He was a graduate of Martha Berry College and retired after 37 years of service from Savannah River Plant. He was a member and elder of Wrens Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, superintendent of Sunday school for 40 years and church treasurer for 45 years. He was active in the local food bank.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 20, 2010, at 4 p.m. at the Wrens Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Interment followed at Wrens Memorial Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill H. Paul; and sister, Betty Sue Walden.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Jean Burke Paul; two children, Roy B. Paul (Michael) of Montgomery, Ala., and Jill P. Massengale (Rick) of Tampa, Fla.; four sisters, Anne Coker, Jeannette P. Worsham, Pat Hobbs and Bobbie Reese (Marvin); two grandchildren, Fred Paul and Maggie Paul; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
