Ms. Carol Ensz
Carol Jean Ensz, 57, daughter of Leon and Lenora Ensz entered into rest Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 29, at 10:30 a.m. at Harmony Springs Mennonite Church, Avera, with Minister Danver Nichols and Minister Maynard Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her parents, Leon and Lenora Giesbrect Ensz, Louisville; two brothers, Gene and wife Venora Ensz, Del Norte, Colorado; Gerald and wife Marilyn Ensz, Uniontown, Ala.; three sisters, Sharon Hiebert, Hazel, Ky., Barbara (Mrs. Robert Holdeman), Stapleton, Judy (Mrs. Don Schmidt), Stapleton; nieces, nephews and many special friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harmony Springs Mennonite Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Georgia Regional Hospital, Augusta, Ga., the Azalea unit, living area 13.
Mrs. Willie Kate Stoutamire Henderson
Willie Kate (Langham) Stoutamire Henderson, age 88, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, after a brief battle with cancer.
Graveside funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. at Oakland cemetery in Tallahassee, Fla.
Mrs. Henderson was born and raised in Warren County. and moved to Tallahassee in 1940. She had retired from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after working for 30 years as an LPN. She was an active member of Seventh Day Adventist First Church of Tallahassee. Mrs. Henderson enjoyed ministering to others through her work as a nurse and through her activities at her church.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by her children, Colin M. Stoutamire, Tallahassee; Charlene S. (Tony) Krivoshein, Tallahassee; Mary H. Rogers, Tennessee and a step-son, Pete Henderson (Helen), of Wadley; grandchildren, Janellen Stoutamire, Will Stoutamire, Katie Krivoshein, Preston Rogers, Mason Rogers and step-grandchildren, Donna S. Lamb, Al Henderson, Danette H. Plummer, and Julie H. Lee. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory two sisters, Cleo L. Smith (Harvey), Louisville; Judy L. Scott (Hugh), North Augusta; and one brother, J.C. Langham (Annette), Thomson.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her two husbands, Charles M. Stoutamire and E. Frank Henderson; and her first born son, Charles May Stoutamire.
Mr. Francis J. "Shorty" Logan
Francis J. "Shorty" Logan, 57, of Steephollow Rd., entered into rest Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 at MCG, Augusta.
Memorial services were held Friday at the Gibson Church of God with Rev. Steve Lamb officiating.
Mr. Logan was survived by his wife, Beth Logan; one son, Billy Joe Logan of Gibson; four daughters, Nichole Logan of Atlanta, Amber Wyatt, Amiee Standridge and Sheena Logan, all of Gibson; his father, Mr. Frank Logan of Florence, S.C.; one brother, David L. Logan of Gibson and one sister, Mary Ard Strawn of Florence; five grandchildren and several nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen J. Mize and two sons, Andrew and Johnathon Logan.
Mr. Logan was a native of Florence, but lived in Gibson most of his life. He worked at Two-State Construction Company for many years.
Memorials may be made to the Gibson Church of God Church Fund in care of Maria Dye, 2251 Hwy. 171 North, Gibson, GA 30810.

Mr. Calvin McCoy
Mr. Calvin McCoy entered into rest Wednesday, Nov. 14.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 24, at Thankful Baptist Church, Glascock Co., with Rev. Leroy Hudson and Rev. Dr. Curtis C. Bradley officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Calvin McCoy, Jr., Augusta and Brian McCoy, Miami; daughter, Crystal McCoy, Miami; friends, Mary McCoy and Joan Habersham; three sisters, Henrietta (Dr. Curtis C.) Bradley, Monroeville, Ala., Estella Bender, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Judy Grubbs, Fort Lauderdale; brother, Charlie Edward (Dr. Alvonia) McCoy of Louisville and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Beth Newsome
Mrs. Beth Newsome of Warrenton entered into rest Nov. 23, 2007.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Michael Cook and Elliott Fulmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Gibson Cemetery, Gibson.
Pallbearers will be Claude Powell, Robert Waller, Steve Smith, Neal Tam, Aaron Hall, and Barry O’Neill.
Mrs. Newsome was born in Omaha, Nebraska, moved to Georgia in 1962, and lived in Glascock County, Georgia since 1979. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern Teachers College.
Mrs. Newsome was an educator for 30 years in the State of Georgia, where she taught in Glenn, Chatham, Warren, Glascock and McDuffie counties. She was recognized as a Star Teacher in both McDuffie County and Glascock County School Systems. Mrs. Newsome was named the 1987 Teacher of the Year for Glascock County and the 2006- 2007 Teacher of the Year for Thomson Middle School.
Mrs. Newsome was a Yearbook Sponsor and a member of the Merry Tillers Garden Club. The family said that education had been her lifelong commitment.
Survivors include husband, Gaynor Newsome, Warrenton; son, Joshua Alexander Newsome, Tacoma, Washington; daughter, Paige Summer Culberson and her husband J.C., Austin, Texas; mother, Mary Elizabeth Bowers, Atlanta; brothers, David Lawrence Bowers, Woodstock and Jeffrey Lisle Bowers, Tucker, Greg Allen Bowers, Oakwood; grandchildren, Libby Kate Culberson and Peyton Summer Culberson. Mrs. Newsome was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Summer Bowers.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Wilson "Jim" Roundtree
Mr. Wilson “Jim” Roundtree departed this life Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Glendale Nursing Home.
Private services will be held.
Mr. Roundtree was a retired farmer and a member of the Peel Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Marie Williams Usry, 94, of Langley, S.C., entered into rest Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Home in Aiken, S.C.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 24, at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, S.C., with Pastor Wade Everett officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, S.C.
She was the wife of the late Samuel Lewis Usry and daughter of the late Wilbur and Velma Lampp Williams.
Born in Avera, she had been a resident of the Langley area for the last 70 years. She was a member of Langley United Methodist Church and retired from Clearwater Finishing Plant after 37 years of service.
She is survived by a son, Trughvan Usry (Kay), Beech Island, S.C.; grandchildren, Jennifer Walter (Gregory), Albany, Charles Usry, Greenville, S.C., Tonja Rivers (Chris), Williston, S.C., and Mark Usry (Jennifer), Charlotte, N.C.; and great-grandchildren, Rion and Jackson Rivers.
Mrs. Margie Black
Mrs. Margie Black, 75, of Bartow, died Sunday morning, Nov. 18, 2007, at Glendale Nursing Home, Wadley.
Mrs. Black was born in Emanuel County and had lived in Bartow for the past 10 years. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services were Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Freedom Fellowship Church, Bartow. Interment followed in the Wadley City Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Sampson Black; three sons, Howard Drake, Pete Drake and Robert Drake; a granddaughter, Carol Ann Johnson; three brothers, James L. Wheeler, Sidney Wheeler and Irvin Wheeler; and a sister, Lois Wheeler.
Survivors include three sons, Morris Drake of Bartow, Dean Drake of Brunswick, and Kenny Black of Bartow; three daughters, Marie Waters of Wadley, Elaine Black of Bartow, and Linda Johnson of Wrightsville; eight grandchildren, Wendy Newsome, Nicole Mead, Patricia Barrow, Morris Drake Jr., Laurie Huchins, Shane and Matthew Black and Keith Drake; three great-grandchildren, Justin Drake, Bailey Huchins and April Williams; a brother, Marvin Wheeler of Swainsboro; and five sisters, Cathline Coxwell of Swainsboro, Betty Jean Able, Vivian Wheeler, Bonnie Wheeler and Doris Fulmer, all of South Carolina.

Survivors include eight children, Joe (Mary) Boatwright, Willie James (Ethel) Boatwright, Willie Lee Boatwright, Roger (Margaret) Boatwright, Eugene Boatwright, Sarah Boatwright, all of Wrens, Lula Johnson and George Boatwright, both of Atlanta; 31 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Harry M. Chapman
Mr. Harry M. Chapman, age 70, of Augusta, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, in the Heritage of Old Capital Nursing Home in Louisville.
Mr. Chapman was a native of Wilmore, Ky. and a retired insurance salesman.
Graveside services were held Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the Louisville City Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Vina Brown Chapman of Augusta; and daughter Brenda Huff of Lexington, Ky.

Mr. Anthony Crafton Sr.
Mr. Anthony Crafton, Sr., 86, of Warrenville, S.C., entered into rest Nov. 15, 2007, at Aiken Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Crafton, a native of Keysville, was a member and deacon of Rocksville Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at Rocksville Baptist Church with the Rev. William H. Booker Sr. officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Sims, Patterson, N.J. and Thelma (John) Chavous, Jackson, S.C.; a son, Anthony (Barbara) Crafton Jr., Warrenville; two brothers, Wilmont (Ruth) Crafton, Hempstead, N.Y. and John (Jeanette) Crafton, Fort Mill, S.C.; sister-in-law, Joyce Simpkins, Washington, D.C.; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Walter Thomas Landrum
Mr. Walter Thomas Landrum Sr., 77, of Matthews, entered into rest Saturday, Nov.17, 2007, at Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home.
Mr. Landrum was a member of Walden United Methodist Church. Mr. Landrum was self employed as a truck driver, and he served in U.S. Army where he fought in the Korea War.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Walden United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Hill and Rev. Tom Edwards officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Landrum was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Gussie Landrum, and his daughter Deborah Landrum Chalker.
Survivors include his three sons, Jeffrey Landrum, Walter Landrum Jr., and Michael Landrum; three sisters, Mary Frances Faglier, Voncille Hadden, and Dorothy Reed; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Thomas Wright Landrum, Douglas Landrum, Nicholas Landrum, John Cody Hall, Nick Redfern, Byron Crutchfield, Robert Chalker and Palmer Hadden.
