Surviving are: Daughter: Gale Gattis of Monroe; Sons and Daughters in Law: Billy and Harriet Jones of Monroe, Jimmy and Tammy Jones of Monroe; 14 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Monday February 21st at 3:00 P.M. at the chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Malcom and the Rev. Randy Ross officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Carl Tolleson
Carl Tolleson, age 65 of Rutledge, died on February 18, 2011. He was born in Russellville, AL on March 25, 1945 to the late Hoyt Tollison and the late Pauline Corder Tollison. He was preceded in death by his brothers, the late Louie Tolleson, the late Henry Tollison, his sister, the late Doris Fultz. Surviving are: Wife: Gloria Tolleson of Rutledge; Sons and Daughters in Law: Ken and Kontent Tolleson of Madison, Mike and Shannon Tolleson of Conyers; Grandchildren: Shandy, Corrie, Trent, Courtney, Avery, and Riley; Brothers and Sister in Law: J.R. and Fran Tollison of Ellenwood, Perry and Alana Tollison of Demorest; Sisters and Brothers in Laws: Faye and Johnny Thomason of Suwanee, Betty Proffitt of Mansfield, Virginia and Ronnie Pendley of Oakwood, Sue and Donnie Leazer of Mansfield; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Services were held on Sunday February 20th at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Interment followed at Bethel Christian Church Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Lanelle Hammond Mitchell
Lanelle Hammond Mitchell, age 84 of Monroe, died on February 16, 2011. She was born in Statham, Georgia on July 7, 1926 to the late Richard Frank Hammond and the late Florence Wall Hammond. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late John Randolph Mitchell. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Sherry Mitchell of Warrenton, Gary and Sheila Mitchell of Monroe, Stevie and Tammy Mitchell of Monroe; daughter, Joy Mitchell McCullers of Monroe and Donny House of Winder; 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, February 19 at 11:00 A.M. at Bold Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Hoyt Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Bold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Franklin D. Shelton
Franklin D. Shelton, of Social Circle, died on February 16, 2011. He was born in Madison, Georgia on February 19, 1933 to the late Earnest Freeman Shelton and the late Willa Bell Rogers. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Nila Stone Shelton. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Clark Shelton of Monroe, Lamar and Christy Shelton of Social Circle; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Marlow of Madison, Linda and Calvin Garver of Madison, Faye and Mark Duffey of Covington, Lisa and Mark Wilkie of Eatonton, Cindy and Greg Anschutz of Social Circle; sisters, Joyce Thompson of Conyers, Nell Broomfield of Augusta, South Carolina; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Power and Rev. Greg Anschutz officiating. Interment followed at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Ann Jones, of Monroe, died on February 15, 2011. She was born on October 21, 1938 to the late Benjamin Ewell Wall, and the late Lucille Malcom Wall. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Robert Lee Jones. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Jenny Williams of Monroe, Kendall and Melinda Williams of Winder, daughter, Wendra Willimas of Monroe, Sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Gilbert Burt of Monroe, sister-in-law, Yvonne Wall of Monroe, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Pastor Krader White officiating. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Charna Adcock, 65, of Madison, Georgia died on February 15, 2011. She was born on April 20, 1945 in Calhoun, Georgia to the late Jesse Brookshire and the late Ira Callahan. Surviving are husband: Bill Adcock of Madison; daughters and sons-in-law: Judy and Darin Mitchell of Rutledge, Kim and Keith Mayo of Rutledge, Sherrie and William Leavell, Jr. of Eatonton; sons and daughter-in-law: Jeff and Marlene Head of Madison and Joe Sargent of Monroe; sisters and brother-in-law: Joyce and Steve Bates of Greensboro and Linda Callahan of Madison. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 17th at the chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Brenda Odum Walden, age 64 of Campton, died on February 11, 2011. She was born in Campton on August 30, 1946 to Frances Jordan Walden and the late Willie T. Walden. Surviving are: Husband: Gerald Odum of Campton; Daughters: Traci Inglett of Bethlehem, Christi Markuten of Campton; Mother: Frances Jordan Walden of Winder; Sisters: Lisa Roux of Winder, Teresa Hixson of Athens; Brothers: Bill Merle Walden of Winder, Ellis Walden of Winder, and Richard Walden of Sharpsburg; Grandchildren: Heather Inglett and Zachary Inglett. A Memorial Service was held on Monday February 14th at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Durden officiating.

Carl Edward Murphy, age 82 of Athens, died on February 9, 2011. He was born in Zebulon, GA on December 18, 1928 to the late Jim Murphy and the late Eva Bridges Murphy. Surviving are: Daughters and Son in Law: Bonnie and Larry Dunagan of Athens, Wanda Murphy of Royston; Brother: Bobby Murphy of Eatonton; 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Saturday February 12th at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Fulmer officiating. Interment followed at Shoal Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Frances Mae Gilbert Chandler, age 87 of Good Hope, died on February 8, 2011. She was born in Bostwick on August 28, 1923 to the late Thomas Marion Gilbert and the late Fannie Lou Ruark Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her daughter, the late Janice Payne. Surviving are: Husband: Merrell Chandler of Good Hope; Daughters and Sons in Law: Peggy C. Breedlove of Good Hope, Merrelyn C. and Kenneth Adams of Carrolton, Laura Ann and Kelvin Middlebrooks of Good Hope; Sons and Daughters in Law: Buck and Jan Chandler of Good Hope, Jack and Carolyn Chandler of Good Hope; 15 Grandchildren and 30 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Thursday February 10th at 2:00 P.M. at Harmony Baptist Church with the Brother Gus Harter and the Rev. Michael Meek officiating. Interment followed Hill Haven Cemetery. Marth (Jo) Dillard Chick
Martha (Jo) Dillard Chick, age 72 of Monroe, died on February 4, 2011. She was born in Monroe on August 7, 1938 to the late James Clarence Dillard and the late Mattie Hearn Dillard. She was preceded in death by her brother, the late J.C. Dillard. Surviving are: Husband: Thomas (Tom) Chick of Monroe; Daughter: Kaye Jackson Brooks of Monroe; Sons: Chris Jackson of Monroe, Thomas Timothy Chick of Monroe, and Clifford Bruce Chick of Monroe; Grandchildren: Heath Jackson Brooks, Matthew Chick, Michael Chick, and Lisa Marie Chick. Funeral Services were held on Monday February 7th at 2:00 P.M. at the Monroe First Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Gaeta officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Vernon Christian Church Cemetery. John W. Smith
John William Smith, age 91 of Monroe, died on February 4, 2011. He was born in Monroe on April 30, 1919 to the late William Grady Smith and the late Pauline Brown Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Larue Roberts Smith. Surviving are: Daughter and Son in Law: Donna and Jimmy Johnson of Monroe; Son and Daughter in Law: Jeff and Cindy Smith of Monroe; Sisters: Grace Whitley of Monroe, Dot Hunter of Decatur, and Ann Price of Sugar Hill; Brother and Sister in Law: Glen and Sylvia Smith of Lawrenceville; 3 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Monday February 7th at 1:00 P.M. at the Campton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Draper officiating. Interment followed at Westlawn Cemetery. Margaret Ruth Barrow
Margaret Ruth Barrow, age 82 of Monroe, died on February 5, 2011. She was born in Pittsview, Alabama to the late Leonard P. Knighton and the late Emma Ruth Knighton. She was preceded in death by husband, the late Edward Weldon Barrow, and her son, the late Robert Keith Barrow. Surviving are: Daughter and Son in Law: Deborah and Milton Atkins, Jr. of Monroe; Grandchildren: John Kerr, Amber and Terry Bailey, Jr.; Amanda Barrow and Steve Simpson, Michael Poole, Melissa B. and William G. Moody; Great Grandchildren: Taylor Bailey, Tanner Bailey, and Ryan Moody. A Memorial Service was held on Monday February 7th at 4:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Charlie "Rock" Newsome
Charlie "Rock" Newsome, age 75 of Monroe, died on February 3, 2011. He was born in Madison on March 26, 1935 to the late Rufus Clark Newsome and the late Willie Maude Studdard Newsome. He was preceded in death by his son, the late Clifford Newsome. Surviving are: Wife: Mary M. Newsome of Monroe; Daughter and Son in Law: Beth and Jimmy Adcock of Dublin; Sons: Gary Newsome of Monroe, and Brian Newsome of Monroe; Sister: Lois Cole of Jacksonville, FL; Brother: Marvin "Chunk" Newsome of Madison; Grandchildren: Nick Adcock, Emily Newsome, Kaitlyn Newsome, Morgan Newsome, and Averie Newsome; Great Grandchild: Kane Lawson. Funeral Services were held on Saturday February 5th at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral home with the Rev. Carlton Peter officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Cemetery. Sammy Peters
Sammy Peters, age 58 of Social Circle, died on February 1, 2011. He was born in Monroe on July 28, 1952 to Horace Donald Peters and Margie Evelyn Hawk Peters. Surviving are: Wife: Marsha Knight Peters of Social Circle; Son and Daughter in Law: David and Michelle Peters of Jersey; Sister and Brother in Law: Karen and Rod Harvill of Covington; Brother and Sister in Law: Jerry and Carol Peters of Jersey; Parents: Horace Donald and Margie Evelyn Peters of Jersey; Father in Law and Mother in Law: Marlin and Joyce Knight of Social Circle; Grandchildren: Haley Peters and Hanna Peters; and Several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Services were held on Thursday February 3rd at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev Lynn Head officiating. Interment followed at Social Circle City Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

B.R. (Ben) Anderson, Jr.
B.R. (Ben) Anderson Jr. age 52 of Social Circle, Ga passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2011 after a brief illness. Mr. Anderson was born on January 20, 1959 to his parents Bennie Ray Sr. and Mary Kate Anderson. He worked with the family trucking business all of his adult life. He was a member of Walton Cycle Club for over 25 years. He was a boy scout himself and later became Scoutmaster for Troop 64 for several years. He was kind hearted and blessed to have many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him as he always thought of others before himself. Surviving are parents: Bennie Ray Sr. and Mary Kate Anderson, daughter: Brandie Lee Anderson; son and daughter-in-law: B.R. III and Andrea Anderson. His sister and brother-in-law: Claire and Tim Treadwell; three grandchildren: Joseph Hubert, Caleigh Lynn and Abigail Raye; Girlfriend: Shanon Shipwash; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 1st at the chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Meadows Funeral Home from 2:00- 4:00 and 6:00- 9:00 pm on Monday, January 31st. Flowers are welcome or contributions can be made to the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church Kitchen Fund 526 Hwy 11 S Monroe, Georgia 30655.

Kathryn Jones
Julia Kathryn Jones, age 89, of Social Circle, died on August 5, 2011. She was born in Monroe on July 9, 1922 to the late W.H. Haralson and the late Minnie Durden Haralson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thad Wilson Jones. Surviving are: Sons and Daughters-In-Law, Billy Wayne and Dianne Kent of Covington, Tim and Cindy Jones of Woodstock; Sisters, Sara Studdard of Monroe, Peggy Anthony of Sandersville; 6 Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 4pm on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 5-9pm. Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen McCall Parr, and sisters, Eunice Donehoo and Vernice McHugh. Surviving are: Wife, Geneva Casper Parr of Monroe; Sons and Daughters-In-Law, Bengie and Tonja Parr of Social Circle, Travis and Kristi Parr of Social Circle; Sisters, Betty Clark of FL, Joyce Shepherd of Hull, Willie Strickland of FL, Margaret Harwell of Godfrey, Judy Herdon of Monroe; Brother, Sammy Parr of Monroe; Grandchildren, Sara Parr, Bailey Parr, Ben Parr, and Travis Parr Jr. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Lonnie Blackmon, the Rev. Chris Yancey, the Rev. Rick Denson, and the Rev. Todd Heil officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Suedell Harris Adams, age 98, of Social Circle, died on July 31, 2011. She was born on May 19, 1913 in Elberton, GA to the late Jessie Harris and the late Lula Peppers Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Bob Dozier Adams, and her son-in-law, the late Bruce Tollison. She was a member of West End Baptist Church where she played piano until she was 92 years old. She is survived by her Daughters and Sons-In-Law, Betty and Tommy Shepherd of Covington, Annell Tollison of Maysville, Bobbie Jean and Charles Haney of Good Hope, Gelaine and Randall Richardson of Social Circle; Grandchildren, Kathy Wallace, Pam Jones, Robert Tollison, Terry Tollison, Susan Ellyson, Cindy Scott, Denise Davenport, Kevin Dailey, Robin Cagle, Melissa Vandiver, Todd Richardson; 22 Great-Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at West End Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Hammond, the Rev. Richard Cole, and the Rev. Douglas Parham officiating. Interment followed at Social Circle City Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Beverly Studdard Hopkins, age 48, of Monroe, died on July 29, 2011. She was born in Walton county on May 27, 1963 to the late Billy Studdard and the late Minnie Ruth Mitchell Studdard.
