Wesley Kasen Barnes, age 10 months, of Monroe, died on October 14, 2015. He was born on December 3, 2014 to Stephanie Rezzuto Barnes and William Latimer Barnes. He is survived by his mother and father, Stephanie and Latimer Barnes of Monroe; sister, McKinley Barnes; brother, Kaden Barnes; grandparents, Fred and Karla Barnes of Monroe, tom and Susan Rezzuto of Loganville, great grandparents, Charles and Betty Whited of Good Hope, Allan and Sylvia Barnes of Victor, NY, Seixas and Betty Milner of Hoschton, Gene and Mary Rezzuto of Doraville, Mack and Barbara Waters of Monroe; aunt and uncles, Lauren Barnes of Monroe, Jordan Barnes of Monroe, Ronald and Lauren Almand of Morgan County; and several cousins. A graveside service was held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Good Hope Christian Church cemetery with Rev. Brad Waters officiating. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Jackie Farwell
Jacqueline Mary Norah Farwell, age 87, of Social Circle, died on October 11, 2015. She was born on July 9, 1928 to the late Ivy Massy Shelton and the late Trevor Shelton. She is survived by her husband, Robert John Farwell of Social Circle; and daughter and son in law, Carole and Dan Pereda of Social Circle. A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 11:30 am at Crossroads Baptist Church.

Rick O'Kelley
Rickie George O'Kelley, age 63, died on Friday, December 4, 2015, at his home in Monroe, GA, of natural causes. Born and raised in Social Circle, GA, he was a lifelong resident of Walton County. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nan Mulkey O'Kelley, and they were an inseparable couple from their teens. They married on September 2, 1973, at the First Presbyterian Church in Monroe, and they both attended Kennesaw State University and later transferred to the University of Georgia from which they graduated. In his early years, Rickie would help with the family business selling barbecue and groceries for O'Kelley's Grocery and Barbecue in Social Circle. While in college, Rickie joined the Georgia National Guard and served for six years in the Monroe, GA, unit. In 1975 he was employed by the National Bank of Walton County (now Athens First Bank & Trust), and in 1996 he changed careers, owning and operating O'Kelley's Landscaping, Inc. He was an avid and passionate sportsman, excelling in basketball and baseball in his younger years. He enjoyed hunting, snow skiing, tennis, and in later years golf became his favored sport. He was a longtime member of the Monroe Golf and Country Club, and he was member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Ollie Bell (Lemonds) O'Kelley. In addition to his wife Nan, he is also survived by his aunts and uncles Gene Lemonds and Margie Kilgore of Social Circle, Charles and Shirley Titshaw of Gainesville, GA, Sybil Isaac of Florida, mother and father-in-law, Jess and Jane Mulkey, two sisters-in-law and their spouses, Steve and Debbie Long and Lee and Kim Smith, a nephew and wife, John and Corinne Francis, and two great nephews, Niko and Jonas Francis, and many close friends. A funeral service will be held on December 6, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe, GA, officiated by the Rev. Glen Money, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Monroe. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that contributions be sent in memory of Rickie O'Kelley to the Penfield Christian Home, Main Campus, 1061 Mercer Circle, Union Point, GA 30669.

Ed Reinagel
Edmund Bernard Reinagel, Jr., age 77, of Social Circle, died on November 29, 2015. He was born in St. Louis, MO on May 11, 1938 to the late Anne Brandt Reinagel and the late Edmund Bernard Reinagel, Sr. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the late Barbara Templin Reinagel, his brother, the late Jim Reinagel, and step mother, the late Mary Vergano Reinagel. Surviving are: wife, Mary Lynne Reinagel of Social Circle; sons and daughters in law, Matt and Karen Reinagel of Douglasville, Dan and Rhonda Reinagel of Dallas, Time and Kerry Reinagel of Annandale, NJ, Jeffrey Hester of Marfa, TX; sisters and brother in law, Mary Anne Wieczorek of Tucson, AZ, Jane and Bob Kilper of High Ridge, MO, Judy Tafelski of Safety Harbor, FL; brother and sisters in law, Tom and Karen Reinagel of Parrish, FL, Mary Reinagel of Baldwin MO; grandchildren, Tyler Reinagel, Taryn Tarter, Kyla Reinagel, Brittney Reinagel, Brent Reinagel, Hannah Reinagel, Luke Reinagel, Wes Reinagel, Nate Reinagel. A funeral service was held on Friday, December 4, 2015 a 11:00 am at St. Anna's Catholic Church with Father Dan Toof officiating. Interment followed at Social Circle City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to either F.I.S.H. at PO Box 1838, Monroe, GA 30655; or St. Anna's Catholic Church at 1401 Alcovy St. Monroe, GA 30655. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Phillip B. Seymour
Phillip Burden Seymour, age 88, of Monroe, died on November 29, 2015. He was born in Bowman, Ga on July 31, 1927 to the late Augie Irene Burden Seymour and the late Jesse David Seymour. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Seymour of Monroe; son and daughter in law, Wade and Debbie Seymour of Monroe; daughter, Charlotte Seymour of Monroe; daughter and son in law, Martha and K.L. Conner of Watkinsville; sister, Sibyl Brooks of Monroe; grandchildren, Kennon and Reese Conner of Watkinsville. A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Monroe with Rev. Glen Money and Rev. Todd Ware officiating. Interment followed at Resthaven Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

John L. Greene
John Littleton Greene, age 79, of Monroe, died on November 29, 2015. He was born in Rutledge, GA on May 1, 1936 to the late Maggie Lee Howard Greene and the late Thomas Alton Greene. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Harp Greene. Surviving are: daughter, Laurie Stowe of Monroe; sons and daughters in law, John Greene, Jr. of Monroe, Joe Greene of Monroe, Jeff and Margie Stowe of Carrollton, Greg and Jaci Stowe of Warner Robins, Thomas and Tricia Greene of Loganville, Ernie Greene of Monroe; brothers and sisters in law, Richard and Lila Greene of Braselton, Lee and Debbie Greene of Winder; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Casper, and Rev. Carlton Peters officiating. James Wilkins
James M. Wilkins, age 86 of Monroe, died on November 20, 2015. He was born on June 23, 1929 in Social Circle to the late James Hershel Wilkins and the late Flaudie Hachett Wilkins. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Betty Tolbert Wilkins. Surviving are: Daughter and Son in Law: Teresa and Divon Page of Monroe; Son: Scott Wilkins of Arnoldville; Sisters: Mary Ann Summers of Buford, Martha Yarbrough of Snellville; Grandchildren: Ginger and David Jares of Good Hope, Justin and Lanita Cash of Bethlehem; Great Grandchildren: Lilly Jares, Kameron Jares, and Kallie Cash. Funeral services were held on Monday November 23rd at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Malcom officiating. Interment followed at Resthaven Cemetery. Bobbie Runell Walls
Bobbie Runell Walls, age 88, of Monroe, died on November 20, 2015. She was born in Walton County on June 2, 1927 top the late Reba Starrett Sorrells and the late Jim Early Sorrells. She is survived by her husband, Benny Ray Walls of Monroe; daughter and son in law, Denise and Jerry Taylor of Monroe; daughter, Donna Jenkins of Monroe, sons and daughter in law, Glenn and Barbara McIntyre of Monroe, Bobby McIntyre of Monroe, Sammy McIntyre of Jefferson, Herman McIntyre of Eatonton; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. A Funeral service was held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 12:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyt Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Memory Gardens. James Harold Green
James Harold Green James Harold Green, age 86 of Hartwell (Formerly of Monroe), died on November 11, 2015. He was born in Duke, OH on October 22, 1929 to the late Opal Legg Green and the late Irvin Green. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Joanne Green, his son, the late James Green, and his brother, the late Floyd Green. Surviving are: daughters and son-in-law, Terri Grantham of Hartwell, Denise and Wayne Brown of Monroe; sisters, Martha Rhodes, Mary Bachelor; Ed Green, Titus Green, Steve Green; 6 grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren. A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015. The visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm and the memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Brant Callaway officiating. Stanley Stokes
Hugh Stanley Stokes, age 81, of Monroe, died from complications of cancer, on November 15, 2015. He was born on May 14, 1934 in Macon, GA to the late Naomi Gentry Stokes, and the late Charles William Stokes, Jr. Stanley was a graduate of Lanier High School in Macon, GA, and an associate degree recipient from DeVry Institute in Chicago, IL. Stanley enjoyed a career in electronics with a focus in radio/television engineering and was an audio-visual engineer for NMAC. When NMAC moved their headquarters to Washington, DC, he was hired by the Centers for Disease Control. He retired from the CDC in 1999. Following his retirement, Stanley continued to pursue his lifelong hobbies in amateur radio and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Brown Stokes of Monroe; daughters and son in law, Teresa Stokes of Flowery Branch, Denise Stokes of Atlanta, Lenore and Frank Mickle of Alpharetta; brothers and sisters in law, Ralph Stokes of Macon, Hubert and Pollie Stokes of Eufaula, AL, Charles and Barbre Stokes of Houston, TX, grandchildren, Dr. Charlton Payne of Berlin, Germany; Alexis Torres of San Francisco, CA, Jessika and Adam Brannon of Smyrna; and his beloved canine, Sweetie. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Meadows Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Monroe First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Dane Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at Macon Memorial Park at 3:00 pm. Meadows Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Henry (Junior) Buff
Henry Buff, Jr., age 75, of Monroe, died on November 16, 2015. He was born in Greenwood, SC on October 31, 1940 to the late Cora Lee Castle Buff and Henry Buff, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Buff of Monroe; daughters and son in law, Donna and Mike Ford of Loganville; Kelley Davis Brown of Monroe; sons and daughters in law, David and Kathy Buff of Monroe, Andrew and Daphne Davis of Monroe; sisters and brother in law, Paulette and Gene Evans of Monroe, Geneva Maxwell of Washington; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Meadows Funeral Home. A Funeral will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadow Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Whitley, Rev. Wayne Durden, and Rev. Danny Coulter officiating. Susan Elizabeth Sherman
Susan Elizabeth Sherman, age 70, of Athens, died on November 15, 2015. She was born in Garfield Heights, OH on December 30, 1944 to the late Annie Beale Eastman and the late Merle Eastman. She is survived by her husband, David Sherman of Athens; sons and daughters in law, Philip Sherman of Nicholson, Kenneth and Joleen Sherman of McDonough, David and Tonya Sherman of Loganville; 7 grandchildren, and numerous "adopted" children and grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 12:30 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Kathy Ramey
Kathy Louise Ramey, age 66, of Monroe, died on November 14, 2015. She was born in Columbia, TN on October 30, 1949 to the late Daisy Luttrell Wallace and the late Wallace Baxter Oakley. She was preceded in death by her brother, the late Bobby Slaughter. She is survived by her husband, Melvin Ramey of Monroe; daughters and son in law, Evelyn Kerr of Tullahoma, TN, Lisa Kerr of Oxford, Misty and Tim Sterling of Centerville, TN, Lisa Blackwell of Monroe, Renea Hopkins of Monroe; son, Carroll Ramey of Monroe; sisters and brothers in law, Patricia and Patrick Malone of Magnolia, TX, Faye and Roger Ramey of Monroe; 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November, 18, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Butler officiating. Meadows Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Douglas (Doug) Patton Taylor, Sr.
Douglas (Doug) Patton Taylor, Sr., age 70 of Monroe, died on November 15, 2015. He was born in Marietta on March 31, 1945 to the late Charles Edward Taylor and the late Ruby Runette Short Taylor. He was preceded in the death by his son, the late Douglas (Bo) Patton Taylor, Jr. Surviving are: Daughters and Son in Law: Beth Garrison of Monroe, Carrie and Brian McKinney of Monroe; Son and Fiance': Robert Taylor and Erin Jones of Kennesaw; Sister: Beverly Young of Madison; Grandchildren: Adam Largin, Trent Largin, Kennedy Largin, and Jackson McKinney. A visitation will be held on Tuesday November 17th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Meadows Funeral Home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Joyce Doster
Joyce Faye South Doster, age 72, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 after an extended illness. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 14th at the Doster Family cemetery on Emmett Doster Road in Campton, GA. Joyce was born in Memphis, TN and later moved to Georgia where she graduated from Tallulah Falls High School. She lived in Monroe for the past 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Sidney and Gladys Elizabeth Strickland South, her brother Thomas South, and her sister Vivian South Johnson. Survivors include her sister, Joan Howard of Evans, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: MCG Foundation for Endocrinology Department, 545 Fifteenth Street, Augusta, GA 30901. The family wishes to extend our grateful thanks to St. Marys Hospital, High Shoals Rehabilitation Center and Joyce's dear friend, Roberta (Bobbie) Hayes, for their constant care and support during this difficult time.

Rachel A. Briscoe
Rachel Elizabeth Adams Briscoe lived her entire life in Monroe, GA. She was born there on June 11, 1922 and departed this world from there on January 4, 2016. She passed away peacefully after a brief hospitalization. Mrs. Briscoe came from a large extended family. She was the daughter of William Luther Adams and Mary Stephens Adams. After the end of World War II, she married William Edward (Bill) Briscoe on November 17, 1947. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with two children, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, plus one on the way. Many people will remember Rachel Briscoe from her long career at the National Bank of Walton County. She was also an active member of the Monroe First United Methodist Church for many years, participating in the Churchs UMW Group. Rachel enjoyed socializing with her friends. Her bridge, canasta and rummikub group meetings were among her favorite pass-times. Her kindness, generosity, and dry sense of humor will always be remembered. Mrs. Briscoe is survived by her children and their families: son and daughter-in-law, Edward L. and Denise Briscoe, daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Dave Jeffrey; grandchildren, Charlie Briscoe, Lauren Bizzell and her husband James Bizzell, Lisa Holcombe and her husband Matt Holcombe, Rebecca Hunnicutt and her husband Robert Hunnicutt, and Cristy Stretch and her husband Donald Stretch; great grandchildren, Lydia Bizzell, Alexander Bizzell, Andrew Holcombe, Ethan Hunnicut, Emmett Hunnicutt, Lexi Stretch, David Stretch, and Kim Stretch. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Briscoe Little, and nieces, Mary Kiser and Marianne DiBaradino. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Briscoe, and her sisters, Alma Hale, Nellie Coefield, Rea Adams, and Dorothy Logan. Rachel Briscoe will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Monroe First United Methodist Church at 400 South Broad St. in Monroe, GA 30655 (770-267-6525). A graveside service will immediately follow the funeral. Frances Tucker
Ruby Frances Tucker, age 98, of Social Circle, died on January 7, 2016. She was born in Newborn, GA on January 15, 1917 to the late Sarah Elizabeth Folds Morrow and the late Malvern Morrow. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Wallace Tucker. She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Robert and Edith Tucker of Athens, Tommy and Mary Tucker of Winder; 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Hardy officiating. Interment followed at Social Circle City Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Randy Weaver
Dewey Moran "Randy" Weaver, age 76, of Madison, formerly of Monroe, died on January 5, 2016. He was born in Milledgeville on March 26, 1939 to the late Katie Autry Weaver and the late William R. Weaver. Randy was a Jeweler in Monroe for 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Julie Weaver of Madison; daughter and son in law, Lisa and Christopher Treadwell of Panama City Beach, FL; son, Mitch Weaver of Evans; step children, Jennifer Hood, Michael Pettit; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Money officiating. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Martha Thelma Head
Martha Queen Head, age 86, of Monroe, died on December 29, 2015. She was born in Walton County on August 17, 1929 to the late Maggie Bell Kelley Queen and the late James Huley Queen. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Homer Head, her sister, the late Jean Peters, and brother, the late R.H. Queen. Surviving are: sisters, Dot Peters, Marion Keesee, Geneva Peters; brothers, Charles Queen, Bob Queen, Jackie Queen; numerous nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. Funeral services were Sunday, January 3, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Brant Calloway officiating. Interment followed at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
