Linda Gail Sellers, age 74 of Monroe, died on December 30, 2015. She was born in Walton County on January 14, 1941 to the late Margaret Adcock Broach and the late Hurst Broach. She is preceded in death by her husband, the late Charles Sellers. Surviving are: son and daughter in law, Greg and Karen Sellers of Social Circle; grandchildren, Joey and Chastity Sellers; and grandson, Waylon Sellers. A funeral will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Social Circle City cemetery . Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Hickman
Patricia Dianne Hickman, age 68 of Monroe, died on February 8, 2016. She was born in Leominster, MA on April 27, 1947 to the late Susan Verge Peters and the late henry Peters. She worked for many years as a Greeter at Walmart. She is survived by her husband, John Hickman of Monroe; sons, Robert Hickman of Chesapeake, VA, John Robert Hickman of Kansas City, KS, Karl Hickman of Portsmouth, VA, Mark Hickman of Monroe; William Hickman of Palm Beach, FL, James Hickman of Spring Lake, NC; 35 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Visitations will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 and on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm and from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Hillman officiating. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Sue H. Henson
Sue Hutchens Henson, age 90, of Monroe, Georgia, died on February 10, 2016. She was born in Huntsville, Alabama, on January 21, 1926, the daughter of the late Morton McAllister and Susie Newman Hutchens. After graduating from Huntsville High School and Agnes Scott College, she married Charles Walton Henson, Jr. in 1947 and moved to Monroe, where she lived until her death. Mrs. Henson was a founding member of St. Albanâ??s Episcopal Church where she served on the vestry and served as chairperson of the altar guild for more than 20 years. She served on the boards of the Monroe Public Library and the Walton Foundation and was a member of the Athenaeum Literary Club and Matthew Talbot Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. As a member of the Monroe Junior Service League, she was an organizer of their kindergarten program. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Henson is survived by her daughters, Susan Henson Frost (Randall) of Gainesville, GA.; Ellen Henson Rogers (John) of St. Simons Island, GA.; sisters, Eleanor Newman Hutchens and Margaret Hutchens Henson, both of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren Susannah Frost Yost (Jeff); Charles Randall Frost (Elizabeth); John Jarman Rogers, Jr.; Ellen Newman Rogers; Mary Woodson Felker (Stephen); Bruce Walton Blackwood and James Bibb Blackwood; and great-grandchildren Mary Florence Felker; George Stephen Felker, III; Adeline Bradley Yost; Anna Claiborne Yost and Charles Henson Frost; She was preceded in death by her daughter Florence Henson Blackwood, son-in-law Bruce Randall Blackwood and brother William Thomas Hutchens, II. Mrs. Henson and her husband have cared for Florenceâ??s children, Mary Woodson Felker and Bruce and James Blackwood since Florenceâ??s death in 2001. A funeral service will be held at St. Albans Episcopal Church in Monroe, Georgia on Friday, February 12, at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at Rest Haven cemetery with Fr. Alan Hansen officiating. Contributions may be made to St. Albans Episcopal Church, 210 North Broad Street, Monroe, GA 30655 or a charity of your choice.

Karen George
Karen Diane George, age 72, of Covington, died on February 8, 2016. She was born in Walton County on September 23, 1943 to the late Inez Sorrells Guthrie and the late Frank Duncan. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Billy Wayne George. She is survived by her daughter, Veronica George of Covington; son and daughter in law, Tim and Bonnie George of Covington; sister, Brenda Melton of Covington; grandchildren, Eddie and Heather George of Conyers, Wayne and Tiffany Wise of Covington, Chris and Sanna Wise of Monticello; and 6 great grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Sorrells officiating. She was entombed at Lawnwood Memorial Park. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Steven Deal
Steven Lamar Deal, age 64, of Monroe, died on February 3, 2016. He was born in Atlanta, GA on November 11, 1951 to the late Judith Campbell Deal and the late Hugh Jackson Deal. He was preceded in death by his sister, the late Myra Lynn Glover. Surviving are: wife, Janet Deal of Monroe; daughters and sons in law, Aprili and Tony Stevens of Monroe, Breana and Tim Turpin of Jersey; son, Shane Deal of Dahlonega; sister, Dolores and Donnie McCullough of Loganville; grandchildren, Mason Stevens, Bailie Stevens, Hunter Deal, Madison Deal, Wyatt Turpin, Garrett Tupin. A funeral service was held on Friday, February 5, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Marion Prather officiating. Interment followed at North Atlanta Memorial Park. Dwayne Callahan
Dwayne Anthony Callahan, age 53, of Good Hope, died on January 29, 2016. He was born in Cobb County on June 28, 1962 to the late Frances Grace Lagana Callahan, and the late Charles Edward Callahan, Jr. He was preceded in death by his brother, the late Charles Edward Callahan, II. He is survived by his brother and sister in law, Sean and Beth Callahan of Good Hope; nephews, Dane Callahan and Kyle Callahan. A Funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Anna's Catholic Church with Father Dan Toof officiating. Entombment followed at Georgia Memorial Park. Bobby Fox Bobby Fox, age 64, of Madison, died on January 27, 2016. He was born in Fairmount, GA on May 13, 1951 to the late Dorothy Lucinda Moss and the late Herbert Johnny Fox. He was preceded in death by his son, the late Steven Fox; brother in law, the late James Jenkins. Surviving are: daughter and son in law, Pamela and Benji Britt of Good Hope; son and daughters in law, Jason and Jessica Fox of Monroe, Jennifer Fox of Monroe; sisters and brothers in law, Barbara and Terry Blaylock, Sandra Jenkins, Geraldine and Mike Hodges, Linda and Bo McDaniel, Glenda and Randy Moore; brothers and sister in law, David and Charlotte Fox, Danny Fox; grandchildren, Betsy Britt, Jake Britt, Riley Fox, Mackenzie Fox, Rebecca Fox, and 1 grandchild on the way. Dinah Lynch, age 66, of Covington, died on January 26, 2016. She was born in Gainesville, GA on June 28, 1949 to the late Genetta Browning and the late Roy Phillip Browning. She was preceded in death by her son, the late Shamir Lynch. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Lynch of Monroe; daughters, Shannon Underwood of Gainesville, Staci Lynch of Monroe; son, Shane Lynch of Monroe; sisters, Janice Kinney of Pensacola, FL, Lavonia Shirley of Pensacola, FL, Glenda Jackson of Tampa, FL; Brother, Phillip Browning of Gainesville; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Monroe Church of God with Rev. Wayne Durden and Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Memory Gardens. . Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Bill Parrish
William Franklin (Bill) Parish, age 77, of Monroe, died on January 24, 2016. He was born in Apalachicola, FL on March 8, 1938 to the late Ercil Manning Parrish and the late James Albert Lorenzo Dow Parrish. Surviving are: wife, Glenda Parrish of Monroe; sons and daughter in law, Steven Parrish of FL, Robert and Cathy Parrish of Peachtree City, James Parrish of Senoia; step daughter, Victoria Lantz of Baytown, TX; step son, Bill Waters of Atlanta; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A memorial service was held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Brant Callaway officiating. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Linda Prather Chandler
Linda Prather Chandler, age 76, of Good Hope, died on January 26, 2016. She was born in Walton County on December 2, 1939 to the late Jessie Louise Malcom Prather and the late Fred Preston Prather. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Radford Chandler. Surviving are: daughters and sons in law, Lou and Chan Cabe of Carnesville, Lisa and Tracy Eavenson of Toccoa; son and daughter in law, Lee and Bonnie Chandler of Good Hope; brothers and sisters in law, Preston and Mary Prather of Martin, TN, George and Eleanor Prather of Good Hope, GA; grandchildren, Will and Heather Cabe of Carnesville, Josh and Amanda Cabe of Rockmart, Moriah and Bryan Sherman of Toccoa, Zach Chandler of Good Hope, Luke Chandler of Good Hope, Leah and Jamey Johnson of Madison, Memori Eavenson of Toccoa, Merrit Eavenson of Toccoa; great grandchildren, Jentsie Cabe, Avery Cabe, Deacon Cabe, Teller Cabe, and Baby Johnson. She was a member of Jack's Creek Primitive Baptist Church, as well as many other clubs and organizations including: Matthew Tolbert Chapter DAR, James M. Gresham United Daughters of the Confederacy, Quilters of Good Hope, Ruby Red Darlings Red Hats Society, Monroe Garden Club, Bethel Baptist WMU. She also served as the Good Hope District Elections Superintendent. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday January 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Jack's Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Cancer Foundation at PO Box 49309 Athens, GA 30604 (attn: Kimberly Liebouitz), or to Jack's Creek Primitive Baptist Church c/o Lee Chandler, Deacon at 2987 Chandler Rd. Good Hope, GA 30641. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

David Shelton
David Roy Shelton, age 58, of Bostwick, died on January 21, 2016. He was born on November 2, 1957 to Dartha Mae Brock Shelton and the late William Herbert Shelton. He was preceded in death by his brother, the late Terry Shelton. Surviving are: Mother, Dartha Shelton of Bostwick; daughters and sons in law, Amanda Shelton of Monroe, Kim and Stephen Clark of Hogansville, Pam and Darian Graziosi of Statham; sister and Fiance, Cathy Shelton and Tommy Keesee of Social Circle; 5 grandchildren, and fiance, Dawn Smith. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Gloria Farmer officiating. Interment followed at Almand Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Bonnie Linne
Bonnie Olivia Linne, age 93, of Monroe, died on January 20, 2016. She was born in Sparksville, IN on February 19, 1922 to the late Esta Eglen Johnson, and the late Claud Greene Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Eugene Linne, and by her son, Daniel Eugene Linne. She was a nurse in Seymour both at the hospital and later for Dr. Blaisdale's practice and spent her time caring for others with her motto being to care for her patients as she would want her family cared for when in need. She was a convert to the Catholic faith and lived her faith to the fullest as a member of St. Ambrose Parish in Seymour, and later Saint Anna's Parish in Monroe, GA. A loving wife, mother and grandmother who made the lives of those who knew her brighter. She is survived by her daughter, Saundra Allman of Monroe; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 24 great great grandchildren. A rosary service was held on January 24, 2016 at 5:00 pm followed by a visitation. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Saint Anna's Catholic Church with Father Dan Toof officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Memory Gardens. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Ronald (Ronnie) Wolf
Ronald William Wolf, age 56, of Monroe, died on January 17, 2016. He was born in Evansville, IN on December 31, 1959 to the late Joyce Ann Wolf and the late Earl William Wolf. He was preceded in death by his brother, the late Randy Wolf. Surviving are: sons and daughters in law, Christopher and Kandice Wolf of Monroe, Patrick and Hannah Wolf of Monroe; sister and brother in law, Rhonda and James Jarrett of Monroe; brother, Ricky Wolf of Monroe; grandchildren, Makenzie Wolf, Charles Wolf, and Jakxon Wolf. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Meadows Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Faye J. Roberts
Faye Juanita Roberts, age 86, of Monroe, died on January 12, 2016. She was born in Oconee County on November 26, 1929 to the late Willie Warren Jones and the late Charlie Mae Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Garland Watson Roberts. Surviving are: sons and daughters in law, Billy and Shelia Roberts of Monroe, Charles and Deborah Roberts of Monroe, Gary and Patsy Roberts of Monroe, Douglas and Leslie Roberts of Monroe; brother and sister in law, Jackson and Shirley Jones of Bogart; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Whitley and Rev. Steve Moon officiating. Interment followed at Barrow Memorial Gardens. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Rachel A. Briscoe
Rachel Elizabeth Adams Briscoe lived her entire life in Monroe, GA. She was born there on June 11, 1922 and departed this world from there on January 4, 2016. She passed away peacefully after a brief hospitalization. Mrs. Briscoe came from a large extended family. She was the daughter of William Luther Adams and Mary Stephens Adams. After the end of World War II, she married William Edward (Bill) Briscoe on November 17, 1947. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with two children, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, plus one on the way. Many people will remember Rachel Briscoe from her long career at the National Bank of Walton County. She was also an active member of the Monroe First United Methodist Church for many years, participating in the Churchs UMW Group. Rachel enjoyed socializing with her friends. Her bridge, canasta and rummikub group meetings were among her favorite pass-times. Her kindness, generosity, and dry sense of humor will always be remembered. Mrs. Briscoe is survived by her children and their families: son and daughter-in-law, Edward L. and Denise Briscoe, daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Dave Jeffrey; grandchildren, Charlie Briscoe, Lauren Bizzell and her husband James Bizzell, Lisa Holcombe and her husband Matt Holcombe, Rebecca Hunnicutt and her husband Robert Hunnicutt, and Cristy Stretch and her husband Donald Stretch; great grandchildren, Lydia Bizzell, Alexander Bizzell, Andrew Holcombe, Ethan Hunnicut, Emmett Hunnicutt, Lexi Stretch, David Stretch, and Kim Stretch. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Briscoe Little, and nieces, Mary Kiser and Marianne DiBaradino. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Briscoe, and her sisters, Alma Hale, Nellie Coefield, Rea Adams, and Dorothy Logan. Rachel Briscoe will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Monroe First United Methodist Church at 400 South Broad St. in Monroe, GA 30655 (770-267-6525). A graveside service will immediately follow the funeral. Memorial gifts may be made to Roswell Street Baptist Church for Stretch Missions, and may be mailed to the offices of Stretch Missions at 642 Stillwaters Drive, Marietta GA 30064

Frances Tucker
Ruby Frances Morrow Tucker, age 98, of Social Circle, died on January 7, 2016. She was born in Newborn, GA on January 15, 1917 to the late Sarah Elizabeth Folds Morrow and the late Malvern Tucker Morrow. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Wallace Smith Tucker. She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Robert and Edith Tucker of Athens, Tommy and Mary Tucker of Winder; 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Hardy officiating. Interment followed at Social Circle City Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Randy Weaver
Dewey Moran "Randy" Weaver, age 76, of Madison, formerly of Monroe, died on January 5, 2016. He was born in Milledgeville on March 26, 1939 to the late Katie Autry Weaver and the late William R. Weaver. Randy was a Jeweler in Monroe for 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Julie Weaver of Madison; daughter and son in law, Lisa and Christopher Treadwell of Panama City Beach, FL; son, Mitch Weaver of Evans; step children, Jennifer Hood, Michael Pettit; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Money officiating. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Martha Thelma Head
Martha Queen Head, age 86, of Monroe, died on December 29, 2015. She was born in Walton County on August 17, 1929 to the late Maggie Bell Kelley Queen and the late James Huley Queen. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Homer Head, her sister, the late Jean Peters, and brother, the late R.H. Queen. Surviving are: sisters, Dot Peters, Marion Keesee, Geneva Peters; brothers, Charles Queen, Bob Queen, Jackie Queen; numerous nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. Funeral services were Sunday, January 3, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Brant Calloway officiating. Interment followed at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
