Joan Denney Foxworth
Joan Denney Foxworth, age 60, of McDonough, Georgia died February 13, 2007. Mrs. Foxworth was born May 6, 1946 in Carroll County, the daughter of the late Mary Emily Smith and William Rayford Denney. She retired as Deputy Sheriff from DeKalb County with 18 years of service. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of McDonough.
She is survived by her husband, Durward Foxworth of McDonough; children, Paul and Melonee Foxworth of Utah, Jennifer and Steven Maynard of Athens; grandchildren, Joshua Foxworth, Abbi Foxworth, Joseph Foxworth, Jacob Maynard, Emmalee Maynard; brothers, Barry Denney of Marietta, Morgan Denney of Roopville, Willie Denney of Carrollton, Ron Denney of Norcross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held February 16 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in McDonough, with Bishop Kirk Wimber officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

William J. Bedford Jr.
William J. “Bill” Bedford Jr. age 50, of McDonough, Georgia died February 13, 2007. Bill is remebnered as a “love” of a dear husband to Lola, an adoring grandfather, a sweet and caring stepfather, a cherished son, brother and uncle. He loved his family, tennis buddies, Waffle House cheese and eggs, and the Georgia Bulldogs. His sweet and gentle nature will live on in others, as he was an organ donor. He was a member of McDonough Christian Church, where he and Lola had rediscovered their Lord and Savior. He was employed by Home Depot of McDonough. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, JoAnn Bedford.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Bedford of McDonough; stepchildren, Kelli and Tim Winters of Summerville, Kit and Randy Willingham of Summerville, Matt and Shelley Drummond of Griffin and Laine Drummond of Newnan; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; father, William “Dub” Bedford, Sr. of Riverdale; sister, Brenda Kelly of Newnan; and three nephews.
Services were held February 17 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Leslie officiating. Interment Sherwood Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Hope Annabelle Peavey
Hope Annabelle Peavey, age 7 months, of Stockbridge, Georgia died February 15, 2007.
She is survived by her parents, James P. and Sarabeth C. Peavey; and sister, Faith Elizabeth Peavey, all of Stockbridge; maternal grandmother, Beverly Wallace of Griffin; and paternal grandparents, Johnny and Phyllis Peavey of Warner Robins.
Services were held February 17 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Dr. Tim Dowdy officiating. Interment Baldwin Memorial Gardens. Those who wish may sign the on-line guest registry at www.cannon-cleveland.com. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Tommy Jafolis
Tommy Jafolis, age 58, of Stockbridge, Georgia died February 3, 2007. Mr. Jafolis was a retired bus operator for Marta with 25 plus years of service. He was also a member of Community Bible Church, and a true Florida Gator fan. He was also a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Jafolis.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Jafolis; children, Shannon Jafolis, Brandi Jafolis; sisters, Marilyn Jafolis, Carolyn Jafolis, and Virgina Johnson.
Services were held February 8 at Community Bible Church, with Rev. Brooks Elliott, Rev. Chip King and Rev. Nevlynn Johnson officiating. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens. Horis A. Ward Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Charles A. Platt
Charles A. Platt, age 87, of Locust Grove, Georgia died February 4, 2007. Mr. Platt was born April 12, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Charles and Stephanie Mehallie Platt. He was a retired sheet metal mechanic with Grumman and Lockheed Aircraft; attended Locust Grove United Methodist Church; and enjoyed woodworking, listening to Big Band music, and NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Caroline Schultz Platt of Locust Grove; son and daughter-in-law, Charles J. and Gail Platt of Culloden,; grandchildren, Marsha and Brian Hanson of Locust Grove, Eric and Dana Platt of Barnesville; great-grandchildren, Emily, Tyler, Michael, Kelli, Travis and Jacob.
Services were held February 8 at Locust Grove United Methodist Church, with Rev. Doug Gilreath officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Locust Grove United Methodist Church in memory of Mr. Platt. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Germain R. Coughlin
Germain R. Coughlin, age 94, of McDonough, Georgia died February 5, 2007. Mr. Coughlin was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia, the son of the late James Joseph and Anna Margaret Dean Coughlin. He and his wife, Sibyl Lahoma Coughlin, were married in 1938. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and had been a former member of the Knights of Columbus in West Virginia. He loved all sports, especially baseball, and was a big Braves fan. But most important to him was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Gregory Coughlin; and a daughter, Patricia Kohlhaas.
He is survived by his children, Judith Hufford of Lilburn, Rita Royer of McDonough, Michael Coughlin of Falls Church, Virginia, Debra Kibler of Roseland, Virginia; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jo Giles of Elkins, West Virginia; and brother, Thomas Coughlin of Weston, West Virginia.

Bobby Gene Atkinson
Bobby Gene Atkinson, age 75 of McDonough, Georgia died February 9, 2007. Mr. Atkinson was born January 3, 1932 in Cobb County, the son of Susie May Anderson. He was a retired auto mechanic and was a member of Faith Independence Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kay Atkinson of McDonough; children, Patricia and Ed Blalock, Tracy L. Atkinson; and granddaughter, Stephanie Waller, all of Conley; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Watson, Amanda and Stephen Waller; cousins, Illa Mae Crenshaw of Stockbridge and Buster Holder of Winder.
Services were held February 12 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Dr. Myron McIntyre officiating. Interment Sherwood Memorial Park. Kim Dunaway
Kim Dunaway, age 41, of McDonough, Georgia died February 10, 2007. Mrs. Dunaway was born in Atlanta, the daughter of Billie Joe and Robbye Jean Edwards Blanks. She was formerly employed with Georgia Power and Jodeco Auto Body and was a member at the Salem Baptist Church. She was an active member of the East Lake and Union Grove community.
She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Todd Dunaway; son, Dalton Dunaway; parents, B. J. and Robbye Blanks; and sister, Cindy Vickers, all of McDonough.
Services were held February 12 at Salem Baptist Church, with Rev. Dan McKay and Rev. Chip King officiating. Interment Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Terri Milling fund c/o Southern Community Bank, 4970 Bill Gardner Parkway, Locust Grove, Georgia, 30248. Johnie Cook Bender
Johnie Cook (Parker) Bender, age 91, of Stockbridge, Georgia died January 28, 2007. Ms. Bend-er was born in Dekalb County. She was a member of Stockbridge First United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Wesley Chapel Womens Club, and a lifetime member of the Order Of The Amaranths, The Eastern Star, and The White Shrine. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Jerome Parker; and daughter, Patsy Parker Conley.
She is survived by her children, Fred (LaVerne) Parker, John (Sara) Parker, and Jack (Eunice) Parker, all of Stockbridge, Carol Parker of Forsyth, Ray (Barbara) Parker, Diane Collum, and Judy (Howard) King, all of McDonough; brothers, James Cook of Tampa, Florida, Douglas Cook of Loganville, Glen Cook of Bethle-hem; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held January 31 at Stockbridge First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jim McRae officiating. Interment Stamps Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Stockbridge First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 86, Stockbridge, Georgia, 30281.
