The funeral was May 18 at 3 p.m. at Hudson Mortuary Chapel in Wadley.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Tillman Wicker; five daughters, Sandra Holmes, Barbara Terrell, Georgia Ann Wicker, Sabrina Wicker and Catherine Fields, all of Louisville; two sons, Timothy Wicker, Louisville, and Donald Wicker, Bartow; two sisters, Annie Mae Grant, Belle Glade, Fla. and Fannie Foy, Wadley; two brothers, James Wicker and George Wicker, Belle Glade, Fla.; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Willie James Williams Sr.
Mr. Willie James Williams Sr. died Friday, May 17, 2002, in Augusta.
Mr. Williams was a trustee of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was retired from Thermo King and the City of Louisville.
The funeral was May 22 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church and cemetery with the Rev. W.D. Blockum officiating.
Survivors include thirteen children, Earlene (Betty) Coley, Augusta, Bertha Hines, Nellie Flounory and Pamela Brown of Louisville, Brenda Barksdale, Martinez, Debra Leverette, O'Fallon, Ill.; six sons, Henry Williams and Larry Williams of Augusta, Willie James Williams Jr., Louisville, Charlie Williams, Vidette, Fredrick Williams, Anchorage, Alaska and Donald Williams of Martinez; one brother, Theodore Williams, Savannah; four sisters, Frankie Cobb, Louisville, Alice Patterson, Augusta, and Rosa Hawkins and Christine Lowery, Jacksonville, Fla.; 29 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ollie M. Green of Wrens died Tuesday, May 14, 2002.
The funeral was May 19 at Ways Grove Baptist Church, Stellaville, with the Rev. Jimmy McCollough III officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two children, Patricia Green and Albert Boyd; three sisters, Dora L. Nelson, Mary Nelson and Beatrice Boyd; one brother, Joe Boyd; and three grandchildren.
Chester Bennett Sr.
Mr. Chester Bennett Sr., 60, of Wrens died Friday, May 24, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Bennett was self-employed at Wrens Siding Company, he was a member of the Faith Evangelistic Church in Keysville and was a member of the Georgia Sheriffs Association.
The funeral was May 26 at 2 p.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Clyde Akers and Robert Atkinson officiating. Burial was in the Wrens Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Bennett, Wrens; four sons, Charles Bennett Jr., Blairsville; Russell Bennett, Florida, William Hammond, Louisville, Bobby R. Hammond Jr., North Carolina; six daughters, Kimberly Buck, Wrens, Rachell Ledford, Blairsville, Cynthia Simpson, Florida; Marie Davenport, Blairsville; Robin Garrett, Hiawassee, Tracy Shope, Blairsville, five brothers Carlton Bennett, Alabama, J.C. Bennett, Stapleton, J. H. Bennett, Troy Bennett and Billy Bennett all of Adrien; four sisters, Della Beck, Adrien, Hazel Bennett, Wrightsville, Erma Hill, Florida, Elizabeth Passmore, Blairsville; and 18 grandchildren.

Mrs. Jessie Lee "Susie" Brown, 63, of Louisville died Monday, May 20, 2002.

Emmitt T. Carroll III
Mr. Emmitt T. Carroll III of Alexandria, Va., died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC.
Mr. Carroll was an accomplished musician in keyboards, voice and composition and writing. He took Music and Theory at the University of Maryland, Munich, Germany campus. He was twice nominated as Best Keyboard Player by the Washington D.C. Area Musical Association and was featured in the Washington Post and Billboard Magazine. He had provided soundtracts for Discovery/Learning Channel and FOX TV. He was president of Seeing Eye Dog Records, Inc. and Seeing Eye Dog Publishing Inc. He was featured with KOT Time Machine, Allen Brown and the Cadillac Dirt Band, Michael Fath and the Virginia Rangers, Downtown, Nantucket and Island musical groups.
A memorial celebration will be held May 31 at Vidette United Methodist Church with the Revs. James Cason and Roy White presiding.
Survivors in include his parents, Rev. Dr. Tip and Kathy Carroll, Wrens; a sister, Angelina Mobley, Durham; brothers, Jerry Carroll, Winder, Kevin Carroll, Savannah, and Steve Carroll, Oklahoma City, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Theron E. "Jack" Dukes, 70, of Wadley died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Jefferson Hospital.
Mr. Dukes, a native of Jefferson County, was a retired truck driver and a member and deacon of Bethesda Primitive Baptist Church.
The funeral was May 23 at 2 p.m. at Bethesda Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Emerson Proctor and Kirt Bacon officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Dellwood.

Mrs. Janie Viola McKennie Evans of Brooklyn, NY, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, in New York.

Margaret Chalker Thompson
Mrs. Margaret Chalker Thompson, 71, of Thomson died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at McDuffie County Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Thompson, a native of Glascock County, was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, Mitchell.
The funeral was May 26 at 2 p.m. at Sheppard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Seaman officiating. Burial was in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery, Gibson.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy A. Thompson; three children, Vickie Kitchens, Gibson, Billie Ann Cason, Thomson, and Marilyn Stevenson, Lincolnton; four stepchildren, Clay Daugherty, Avera, Phil Daugherty, Macon, Vicki Evans and Deborah Lewis, both of Summerville; three brothers, Calvin Chalker and Garvin Chalker, both of Gibson, and Don Chalker, Lincolnton; one sister, Ruth Chalker Reese, Martinez; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Rev. W. Henry Norris
Rev. W. Henry Norris of Monticello died Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
Rev. Norris, a native of Warren County, was the son of the late Mr. Charlie Lee and Fannie Bell Williford Norris. He was licensed to preach May 23, 1935. Received into the North Georgia Conference November 1939, Ordnance Deacon in 1941, Ordained Elder 1943 by Bishop Moore. Member in full of the North Georgia Conference from 1939 to 1984 where he had twelve appointments in his career. He also was a mason, Franklin Lodge Free and accepted Masons Lodge Eleven. Hubert Chapter Royal Arch Masons, Warrenton. Scottish Rite Macon, 32 Degree and KCCH, served as Grand Chaplain of the Grand Lodge of Georgia 1974 and 1978, order of the Eastern Star number 245 Past Parton. He attended Warrenton High School class of 1933, Young Harris College class of 1935, Asbury College class of 1939, Emory University Graduate Work. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dr. Eugenia Coffee Norris.
The funeral was May 22 at 4 p.m. at Johnson Untied Methodist Church in Warren County with the Rev. Dr. Robert C. Bowling, Rev. William L. Childers, Rev. C.W. Edwards Jr. and Rev. James McAlister officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with masonic rites.
Survivors include one son, William Henry Norris Jr., Monticello; three daughters, Eugenia Marcella Norris Fowler, Cedartwon, Mary Ellen Norris Plemons, Ringgold, Rebecca Joy Norris Keeney, St. Petersburg, Fla.; three sisters, Catherine Norris Winters, Wrens, Reba Norris Phillips, Wrens, Ruth Norris Cutchens, Petersburg, Va.; four grandchildren, Lisa Michelle Warner, Vincent Lee Plemons, William Zachery Norris, Kerri Norris; five great grandchildren, Adam Warner, Gavin Warner, Brandon Lee Plemons, David Plemons, Kellina Plemons.

Mrs. Georgia L. Atkinson, 75, of North Augusta, SC, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002.
Mrs. Atkinson, a native of Carboro, NC, had lived in North Augusta for the past 38 years. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Atkinson and son, William Michael Atkinson.
The funeral was May 31 at 3 p.m. at the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Still officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. Robert E. Atkinson, Stapleton, and Thomas M.
