Mrs. Lacie Grissom McIntosh of Wadley died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003.
The funeral was Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church Wadley with the Rev. Herman Baker officiating. Burial was in San Clair Cemetery.
Survivors include six daughters, Gloria Hunter, Paterson, NJ, Eva Snyder and Allie Jo Kelly, Brooklyn, NY, Betty Bostic Williams and Willie Mae Tally, Wadley, and Myrtis Bradford, Panama City, Fla.; one son, Ollie McIntosh, Wadley; 53 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren.

Robert Nehemiah Hadden
Mr. Robert Nehemiah Hadden of Chesapeake Bay, Md. died Saturday, March 1, 2003 at Union Hospital in Elkton.
Mr. Hadden, a native of Jefferson County, was a resident of Cecil County for 37 years. He was a decorated WWII and Korean War veteran, a member of Town Point Methodist Church, lifetime member of Elkton V.F.W., Volunteer S.P.C.A., Delaware, Seangerand in Newark, Del., and Fleet Reserve Association.
The funeral was March 5 at 1 p.m. at Gee Funeral Home with Pastor Carol Sceez officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Lieselotte (Lee) Maria Hadden, Port Herman, Chesapeake City, Md.; sons, Juergen K. Hadden, Elkton, Md., Michael H. Hadden, Port Herman, Chesapeake City, Md., and Robert N. Hadden, Elkton, Md.; daughters, Karin E. Hadden and Margrit L. Newlin, both of Newark, Del.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces in and around Avera.

Thomas Eugene Greenway Sr.
Mr. Thomas Eugene Greenway Sr., 71, of Louisville died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at Jefferson Hospital.
Mr. Greenway, a native of Emanuel County, was a retired operating engineer with Walsh Construction Co. and a cattle farmer. He was a Baptist and attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Greene County. He was the son of the late Fed and Sallie Mae Gay Greenway.
The funeral was March 6 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary with the Revs. Marian Jay and Larry Montgomery officiating. Burial was in the Hawhammock Baptist Church cemetery in Swainsboro.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Snipes Greenway; three daughters, Kathy Jean and David Williams, Appling; Glenda and Ray Holmes, Augusta; and Becky and Wayne Pooler, Louisville; one son, Thomas Eugene and Michelle Greenway Jr., Hehpzibah; two sisters, Marjorie and John Driscoll, Augusta; and Martha Saul, Swainsboro; one brother, Emory and Gail Greenway, Swainsboro; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tommy Williams, Berry Wren, Edward Salter, Danny Braddy, Don Mast, Thomas Fryberger, David Greenway and Kelvin Turner.

Allen E. "PaPa" Lamb
Mr. Allen E. "PaPa" Lamb, 78, of Statesboro died Monday, March 3, 2003.
Mr. Lamb, a native of Jefferson County, moved to Statesboro in 1949. He was employed with Ray Hendley as a self-employed paint contractor for 40 years. He was a member of Gracewood Baptist Church.
The funeral was March 6 at 11 a.m. at Gracewood Baptist Church with the Revs. Carl Ledbetter and Dan McCance officiating. Burial was in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Lamb; two daughters, Patricia L. and Ray Miller, Millen, and Karon L. and Jam Price, Statesboro; two sons, Waldo E. "Walt" and Lynn Lamb, Statesboro, and Dennis A. and Sherry Lamb, Claxton; two sisters, Ruth and G.W. "Shorty" Godbee and Polly and Frank Williford, all of Louisville; one brother, William "Buddy" and Hazel Lamb, Winter Park, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ms. Tomeka Lynette Brown, 23, of Stapleton died Tuesday, March 4, 2003.
Ms. Brown, a native of Burke County, was a member of First Baptist Church in Gough. She was a 1997 graduate of Jefferson County High School and an employee of Glit for over four years.
The funeral was March 9 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Gough. Burial was in the Pineland Cemetery, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Abraham Gibbons officiating.

Mary Wheeler Holley
Mrs. Mary Wheeler Holley, 95, of Matthews died Thursday, March 13, 2003.
Mrs. Holley was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church whose membership has now been transferred to the Holy Triumphant Church in Glory. She was preceded in death by her husband of 78 years, James "Jim" Holley Sr.; her son, James "Jimmie" Holley Jr., and her daughter, Peggy Holley Strickland.
The funeral was March 16 at 3 p.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shannon Ramsey, Raymond James and Wylie Prescott officiating. Burial was in Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Audrey Bowles, Statesboro, Margie James, JoAnn Prescott and Joyce Williford, Matthews; two sons, W.C. Holley, Wrens and Don Holley, Harlem; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Vivian Clark Harden Sheppard
Mrs. Vivian Clark Harden Sheppard, 91, of Wrens died Sunday, March 16, 2003.
Mrs. Sheppard, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of Waldens United Methodist Church where she taught the Children's Sunday School Class for many years. She was a member of the WMU. She was the bookkeeper at Stapleton Garment Company for many years.
The funeral was March 19 at 11 a.m. at Waldens United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marvin Goodman officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianne H. and Gary Rhodes, Wrens; a son, Clark and Mary Harden, Statesboro; three stepdaughters, Marie Williams, Helen Thomas and Judy Tanner, Louisville; three stepsons, Cleon Sheppard, Augusta, J. Farris Sheppard and Lamar Sheppard, Louisville; sister, Agnes Thigpen, Avera; brother, Rev. Sally Swan Peterson
Mrs. Sally Swan Peterson, 92, of Darlington, SC, died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, SC.
Mrs. Peterson, a native of Stellaville, was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church in Macon. She was active in the Friendship Sunday School Class, Jim Dandy's Club and also a member of the John Franklin Wren Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She also resided in Milledgeville and Macon. She was one of 11 children of the late Andrew Lawson and Sallie Wren Swan.
The funeral was March 13 at 11 a.m. at Ways Baptist Church with the Revs. Ronald Jackson and George Lauderdale officiating.
Survivors include her daughter, Trudy Peterson Norris, Darlington; two sons, William Andrew Peterson, Belleview, Fla., and Russell Aubrey Peterson, Hickory, NC; a brother, Charles Andrew Swan, Augusta; two sisters, Annette Swan Jones, Atlanta and Fay Swan Foreman, Jackson; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Ray Thompson of Louisville died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at the Medical College of Georgia.
Mr. Thompson, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of the Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church and a retiree of Battle Lumber Company after 18 years of service.

JoAnn Elizabeth Roberts Lariscy
Mrs. JoAnn Elizabeth Roberts Lariscy, 72, of Sylvania died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at University Hospital in Augusta.
Mrs. Lariscy, a native of Screven County, was a member of the McDonald Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, director of Vacation Bible School and in the adult Sunday School class. She was retired from White Stag Manufacturing Company as a seamstress. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Cale Bragg.
The funeral was March 18 at 2 p.m. at McDonald Baptist Church with the Revs. Horace W. Lariscy III and Chuck Cochran officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Ellie Irene McGahee Poole
Mrs. Ellie Irene McGahee Poole, 71, of Stapleton died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta.
Mrs. Poole, a native of Warren County, was a retired supervisor with Thomson Company. She was a member of Wrens Church of God and the McGahee Sisters Gospel Group which sang on WTWA for over 50 years. She was a former member and teacher of Sunday School at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church for many years. She served weekly at Mt. Aldred AME Church in a prayer group.
The funeral was March 19 at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Seaman, Terry Addis and Billy Wilson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, O.B. Poole; her mother, Mrs. Mary Will McGahee, Stapleton; two stepdaughters, Barbara Newton, Blythe, and Jane Meeks, Nashville, Tenn.; four sisters, Mary McGahee, Stapleton, Lucille Davis, Warrenton, Eva McGahee, Murrayville, and Cornelia Wells, Martinez; 8 step-grandchildren, 11 step great-grandchildren and 8 step great great-grandchildren; two nephews, Steve Davis, Warrenton and Jeff Davis, Gibson; a great-niece, Serena Davis and a great-nephew, Josh Davis.
