The funeral was Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. at Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Fredrick Ricks officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his daughter, Monique Parker, Gibson; his mother, Ada Floyd, Wrens; two sisters, Lavette Floyd, Thomson, and Laverne Floyd, Augusta; SFC Ulysses Floyd, Fort Sill, Okla., and Andre' Floyd, Austin, Texas; a grandmother, Lettie Wells, Wrens; his stepmother, Annie W. Barbara Jean "Bob" Taylor Hinkins
Mrs. Barbara Jean "Bob" Taylor Hinkins of Detroit, Mich., died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at St. John Medical Center in Detroit.
Mrs. Hinkins, a native of Wadley, was a 1962 graduate of Jefferson County Public School System. She was a former member of San Clair Missionary Baptist Church, Wadley. She was presently a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Warren, Mich.
The funeral was Oct. 19 at noon at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with the Revs. Roger Facione, John Schreiber and Kampke Schreiber officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Memorial Cemetery, Detroit.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Johnnie Hinkins; a daughter, Deborah and Tyrone Evans; her mother, Mrs. Bernice Howard, Wadley; two brothers, Clarence (Gladys) Howard, and Eddie Howard, Detroit; two sisters, Erma (Samuel) Jones, Wadley, and Wilhelmina (Pam) Howard, Detroit; one uncle, four aunts and five grandchildren.

Lillian Dye Middleton
Mrs. Lillian Dye Middleton, 63, of North Augusta, S.C., died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004.
Mrs. Middleton, a native of Mitchell, made North Augusta her life-long residence. She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and was employed at the Medical College of Georgia as a unit clerk.
The funeral was Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. at Sweetwater Baptist Church with Dr. Eleazer Benenhaley officiating. Burial was in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her husband, David E. Middleton; two sons, Andy Middleton and Kenny Middleton, both of North Augusta; one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Ben Rucker, North Augusta; mother, Grace Chalker, East Dublin; three brothers, Roger Dye, Forsythe, Ralph Byrd and Larry Byrd, both of Graniteville, S.C.; four sisters, Opal Chalker, East Dublin, Joyce Nabors, Greenwood, S.C., Sara Morris and Betty Miller, both of Edgefield; three grandchildren, Julie Anna Middleton, Josh Middleton and Shelby E. Andrew Jackson "Jack" Peebles
Mr. Andrew Jackson "Jack" Peebles, 80, of Gibson died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004.
Mr. Peebles, born in Stapleton, was a 1941 graduate of Stapleton High School. He served his country in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. After his discharge he lived in Texas and Atlanta for a number of years prior to his retirement in Glascock County in 1995. At the time of his death he was a board member of the Glascock County Housing Authority. He was a Christian by faith. He is preceded in death by sisters, Gwendolyn Lloyd and Joyce Smith; and brothers, James Lee Peebles, Leon Peebles, George Peebles, Roy Peebles and Johnny Peebles.
A memorial service will be held Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Avera.
Survivors include a son, Kelly (Kalene) Bennett, Dickson, Texas; four grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Brooke and Cameron; a brother, Albert F. (Marion) Peebles, Milwaukee, Wis.; two sisters-in-law, Helen Peebles, Stapleton, and Betty Peebles, Smyrna; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Barbara Jean Stockton
Mrs. Barbara Jean Stockton of Wrens died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. Stockton, a native of Jefferson County, was the daughter of the late Margie Hannah and the late Robert Mathis. She attended Jefferson County Public High School. She was employed by The News and Farmer and The Jefferson Reporter and Wendys. She was a member of Woods Chapel Church of God in Christ.
The funeral was Oct. 16 at 3:30 p.m. at Thompson Springhill AME Church in Matthews. Burial was in Woods Chapel Church of God in Christ Cemetery.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Vinson and Despina Washington of Germany; one sister, Eldora King, Far Rockaway, NY; one brother, Willie Lee Hannah, Wrens; three grandchildren, Reginald Washington, Derrick Simmons and Jayvin Washington; two goddaughters, Tawana Brumfield, Wrens, and Sharonda Birt, Atlanta; three aunts, Mamie King, Wrens, Elizabeth King, Far Rockaway, NY, and Reba Goodson, Wrens; a special friend, Roger Ruff, Gibson; and several cousins and other relatives.

Kathryn "Kay" Brinson
Mrs. Kathryn "Kay" Brinson of Augusta died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004.
Mrs. Brinson, a native of Wrens, was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville and was retired from Forrest Hill Elementary School. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Carpenter, and a brother, Jack Carpenter.
The funeral will be Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with the Rev. Robert Watkins officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Virginia C. Long and Mrs. Frances C. Bernhard, Augusta, and Mrs. Helen C. Richardson, Canoga Park, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. French Boyd, North Augusta, S.C.; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Mr. Tommie L. Daniels, 68, of Gulfport, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004.
Mr. Daniels was a native of Glascock County and a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the past 40 years. He was a member of Robinwood Baptist Church in Saucier.
Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin H. Daniel, Sr. and Lurlean Kent Daniel.
The funeral was Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home. Burial was in Saucier Cemetery.

Mrs. Edna Sammons Milburn, 83, of Gibson died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta.
Mrs. Milburn was a native of Glascock County. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and the Choir and Music Director for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Milburn.
The funeral was Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Carter Hudson and the Rev. Bill Seaman officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Louvenia "Sus" Rachel Wright died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at her residence.

Mrs. Wright, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of Blount Chapel Baptist Church where she served as an outstanding missionary, Thanksgiving angel and on the usher board.

Mr. John Wesley "J.W." Mullins died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at University Hospital in Augusta.

Mr. Paul D. Wenger, 83, of Louisville died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at University Hospital.
Mr. Wenger, a native of Goessel, Kan., was a retired farmer and a minister. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, brother and son-in-law.

John F. Ricketson Jr.
Mr. John F. Ricketson Jr. of Avera died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004.
Mr. Ricketson, a native of Warrenton, attended Warrenton High School, Georgia Military College and The University of Georgia. He served his country in the South Pacific Theater as a naval artillery fire controller on the USS Oklahoma City during WWII. He sold directory advertising for Southern Bell until 1967 when he founded the first of three businesses in Macon. In 1976 he became associated with Hearthstone Log Homes. He was a trustee of Walden's United Methodist Church and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School class.
The funeral was Oct. 19 in the chapel of James Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Goodman officiating. Burial was in the Warrenton City Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia F. Ricketson; children, John F. (Deana) Ricketson, Macon, Jack D. Ricketson and Laurie R. Mr. Johnnie Mathis Sr., 58, of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004.
Mr. Mathis, a native of Jefferson County, lived in Brooklyn for the past 35 years. He was a former member of New Zion Baptist Church. Presently he was a member of St. Mary's Church where he served for the past 10 years.
Funeral services will be held in Brooklyn.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Mathis; two daughters and three sons, all of Brooklyn; one sister, Reba M. Goodson, Wrens; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
