Ruth Louise Day
Ruth Louise Day, age 74, of Stockbridge, GA died Friday, November 10, 2006. Mrs. Day was born in Alexander City, Alabama, the daughter of the late Otis Edd and Nellie Moore Mask. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linden Cecil Day.
She is survived by her nephew, James Day of Stockbridge; and her sister, Willie Sorensen, Alexander City, Alabama.
Services will be held in Alexander City, Alabama by Radney’s Funeral Home.

Jo Anne Harrell
Jo Anne Harrell, age 61, of McDonough, Georgia died October 26, 2006. Mrs. Harrell was born in Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of the late Hubert Ernest and Mary Lou Satterfield Strickland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph David Harrell; and son-in-law, Bobby Lewallen.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anna (Izzy) Gould of Kennesaw; daughter, Sherri Lewallen of Stockbridge; six grandchildren; sister, Emily Gailey of Gainesville; and brother, Johnny Strickland of Winder.
Services were held October 29 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Lee Gambrell and Ronald Gailey officiating. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Oma Cawthon
Oma Cawthon, age 83 of McDonough, Georgia died October 26, 2006. Ms. Cawthon was born April 29, 1923 in Henry County, the daughter of the late Nora Lee Berry and Aszia Francis Moss. She was retired from the GDOT; had worked part time for the Henry County Tag Office for many years; was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the Women of the Moose; and loved having a good time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Cawthon; and by her companion of 35 years, Herb Craig.
She is survived by her children, Regina and Frederick Auletta of Locust Grove, Sandra and Terry Tyson of McDonough, Phillip Neal and Shelia Cawthon of Lizella; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Ollie Exum of Hampton; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Mildred Moss of McDonough.
Services were held October 28 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Johns officiating. Interment Macedonia Baptist Church. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements

Sylvia Lucile Harris Avera
Sylvia Lucile Harris Avera, age 83, of McDonough, Georgia, formerly of Norcross, died October 27, 2006. Mrs. Avera was born September 26, 1923 in Clarkston, the daughter of the late Arthur Tandy Harris and Mary Elizabeth Pounds. She was a member of McDonough Baptist Tabernacle; retired after 11 years with John Deere and enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, J.T. Avera.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Libby Avera Bailey of Norcross, Tandy and Robert Moore of McDonough, Debbie and Jeff Killip of Jefferson; grandchildren, Rhonda Robinson, Christa Mooney, Linda Ethridge, Robert Moore, Jr., and Lianne Killip; five great-grandchildren.
Services were held October 29 at Peachtree Memorial Park in Norcross, with Pastor James P. West officiating. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Denny R. Doerr
Denny R. Doerr, age 38, of Locust Grove, Georgia died October 28, 2006. Mr. Doerr was born September 2, 1968 in Dyer County, Tennessee. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was employed with the Henry County Water Authority. He was a very active member of Community Bible Church; was a church and civic volunteer; loved sports and spending time with his girls. He was preceded in death by a brother, Nicky Doerr; and by grandfathers, E.W. McClure and J.N. Doerr.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Tara Knowles Doerr; daughters, Rachel and Rylee Doerr; mother, Viann Doerr; father, Randy Doerr; brothers, Stacy and Howie Doerr; grandmothers, Jane Doerr of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Hazel McClure.
Services were held October 31 at Locust Grove First Baptist Church, with Rev. Bob Halstead and Rev. Jody Shaw officiating. Interment Locust Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to a fund for Rachel and Rylee at McIntosh State Bank in Locust Grove. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Sarah Frances Bonner Belk
Sarah Frances Bonner Belk, age 73, of McDonough, Georgia died October 30, 2006. Mrs. Belk was born in Henry County, the daughter of the late Annie Lee Upchurch and Riley Hinton Bonner. She had retired from Eastern Airlines. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Belk.
She is survived by her children, Karen and Dean Schaeffer of Raleigh, North Carolina, Jeff and Holly Belk of Marietta; grandchildren, Justin and Abby Schaeffer, Riley Belk; brother and sister-in-law, Olin and Betty Bonner of McDonough; nephews, Douglas and Greg Bonner; and several cousins.
Services were held November 1 at Bethany Baptist Church, with Rev. Al O’Quinn officiating. Interment Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to Crossroads Hospice of Atlanta, 1957 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 500, Tucker, Georgia, 30084. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Robert J. Brennan
Dr. Robert J. Brennan, age 78, of McDonough, Georgia died October 31, 2006. Dr. Brennan was born in Albany, New York, the son of the late Patrick and Rose Murphy Brennan. He served as a missionary with the Baptist International Missions, Inc. since 1969, and was in Brazil for 15 years. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marilyn Jeanne Brennan of McDonough; sons, Bob Brennan, Jr. of Enid, Oklahoma, Rodney Brennan of Jonesboro; daughters, Terri Brennan of Stockbridge; Tracey Kirksey of Montgomery, Alabama; seven grandchildren; sisters, Rose Marie Ashworth of Rensselaer, New York, Mary Brennan of Albany, New York, Elaine Vincent of Kissimmee, Florida; brothers, James Brennan of Jacksonville, Florida, Eugene Brennan of Albany, and John Brennan of Cohoes, New York.
Services were held November 4 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Martin Jones and Dr. Jimmy Rose officiating. Interment Luthersville Community Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Edna Woodie
Edna Woodie, age 80, of Decatur, Georgia died Novem-ber 2, 2006. Mrs. Woodie was born in Tennessee, the daughter of the late Jason A. and Eula Mae Lacewell Croft. She was a devoted hardworking mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theron Woodie; and grandsons, Jimmy and Jamy Woodie
She is survived by her children, Jerry (Lavarne) Woodie of Winder, Terry (Debbie) Woodie of McDonough, Beverly (Phil) Tankersley of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Jason Woodie, John Woodie, Jody Woodie, Chad Woodie, Scott Woodie, Shane Tankersley, and Kim Woodie; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held November 4 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Pastor Scott Reece officiating. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Beverly Lynn Robertson Gleason
Beverly Lynn Robertson Gleason, age 35, of McDonough, Georgia died November 1, 2006. Mrs. Gleason was born July 20, 1971 in DeKalb County. She was a member of Graceway Baptist Church, a "Super Mom," loving wife, daughter and sister. She was the founder of Soul Writer Ministries. She published two books, A Picture of Love and Willow Mountain. She was preceded in death by grandparents, John and Virginia Robertson and Venetta Morris.
She is survived by her husband, John Gleason; children, Jennifer Gleason and Heath Gleason, all of McDonough; parents, Gwen and Ronnie Wynne of Riverdale John Robertson of Montana; sister and brother-in-law, Denise and James Tabor of Conyers; nephews, Cody and Coury Gates and Drew Tabor; mother-in-law, Toni Gleason; and brother-in-law, Ricky Gleason.
Services were held November 4 at Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Chuck Holt and Rev. Jeff Jacobs officiating. Interment Harper Cemetery in McDonough. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Myrtle Hutchinson Broyles
Myrtle Hutchinson Broyles, age 90, of McDonough, Georgia died October 17, 2006. Mrs. Broyles was born January 8, 1916 in Buncombe County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Sally McAfee and Arvel Hutchinson. She was a member of Eagles Landing Church of God, where she was active and enjoyed Sam’s Senior Citizen Club of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Broyles; and brother, Jack Hutchinson.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Nancy Coward of McDonough; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Rachel Coward of Phoenix, Arizona, Julie and Tim Harkins and Jennifer Coward, all of McDonough; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Jordan Harkins and Chandler Coward; sisters, Mildred McCall and Thelma Partin, both of Candler, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held October 20 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Elvis Hester officiating. Interment Ashelawn Gardens. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
