John T. Waldroup
John T. Waldroup, 58, of 2276 Bartley Road died Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Waldroup, born December 19, 1942, in Troup County, was the son of Mrs. Sarah Waldroup and the late John Luther Waldroup. He had lived here all his life, was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Gray Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife Wandress Waldroup; a son and daughter - in - law, Alan and Jennifer Waldroup; five grandchildren, Heidi, Adam, Lucas, Alex and Austin; two brothers and a sister - in - law Marvin Waldroup and Larry and Carol Waldroup; his mother - in - law and father - in - law, Dorothy and Clifford Maze; a sister - in - law and brother - in - law, Dale and Emory Treadwell, all of LaGrange; a brother - in - law and sister - in - law, Roy and Debbie Maze of Douglas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn.
Graveside services will be at 2 this afternoon in the Gray Hill Baptist Church cemetery with the Revs. Lamar Womack and David L. Phillips officiating.

Mrs. Edna Chastain
Mrs. Edna Williams Chastain, 85, of LaGrange, died Tuesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Chastain, born April 16, 1915, in LaGrange, was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Ballard Williams. She was a 1941 graduate of National University Law School and retired as a civil service attorney in Washington, D.C., having been admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. She returned to LaGrange in 1961 and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Linton S. Chastain of Greensboro, N.C., Thomas R. Chastain of Statesboro and Judson R. Chastain of Knoxville, Tenn.; six grandchildren and five great - grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Shadow - lawn cemetery with Father Lawrence Niese officiating.

Mrs. Jimmie Anglin
Mrs. Jimmie Lee Bowen Anglin, 68, of 320 Old Chipley Road in Pine Mountain died Tuesday at her home.
Mrs. Anglin, born April 25, 1932, in Randolph County, Ala., was the daughter of the late Floyd Jackson and Mamie Osborn Bowen. She had lived here most of her life, retired from LaGrange Molding and was a member of Bethel Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Anglin of Pine Mountain; three sons and a daughter - in - law, Charles and Linda Whitley of Mountville, and Michael Sherrer and Ronald Sherrer, both of LaGrange; a daughter and son - in - law, Vicky and Tony Lee of Pine Mountain; five grandchildren and a granddaughter - in - law, Edward and Amanda Whitley, Chad Whitley, Mark Whitley, and Anthony Whitley, all of LaGrange and Christi Lee of Pine Mountain; 10 great - grandchildren; a brother and sister - in - law, Guy and Jackie Bowen of LaGrange; three sisters and brothers - in - law, Jan and Michael Pruitt and Sue and Winford Parmer, all of LaGrange and Linda and Charles Hallmark of Franklin; a sister - in - law, Catherine Bowen of Hogansville; four brothers - in - law and two sisters - in - law, Roger Anglin, Frank and Jan Anglin and Jack and Sonia Anglin, all of Lakeland, Fla., and Jack Estes of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Millard Sherrer and a sister, Lois Estes.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Oakside Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Geter and Dr. Ralph A. Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends this evening from 7 until 9 at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lullene Moore
Mrs. Lullene Hughes Moore, 94, formerly of Mountville and LaGrange, died Sunday in St. Augustine, Fla., where she had lived for the past five years.
Mrs. Moore was a retired classroom teacher with the Troup County School System. She served most of her years in Mountville schools. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, a former member of the Troup County Retired Teachers Association and the Iris Garden Club.
Survivors include a daughter and son - in - law, Jennie and Lamar Wadsworth of LaGrange; a son and daughter - in - law, Arthur Dee and Mary Denys Moore of St. Augustine; four grandchildren; five great - grandchildren; and two sisters, Annette Crain of St. Augustine and Willodene Childress of Deland, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Douglas Moore.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Helen Henry and Greg Porterfield officiating.
The family will be at the home of her daughter and son - in - law, Jennie and Lamar Wadsworth, 301 Ivydale Drive and will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The Heart Association or the First United Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. Moore.

Mrs. Susie Richburg
Mrs. Susie Copeland Richburg, 86, of Niceville, Fla., died Thursday at the Niceville Nursing Facility.
Mrs Richburg taught school for more than 40 years in the Covington County, Ala., and Muscogee County, Ga., School Systems.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas H. Richburg of LaGrange and James R. Richburg of Niceville, Fla.; a daughter, Sue R. Williams of Dunwoody; seven grandchildren, eight great - grandchildren; two sisters, Lois C. Patrick of Andalusia, Ala., and Mertice C. Miller of Greenville, Ala.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Monday in the Hopewell cemetery in Troy, Ala., with the Rev. Drex Copeland.

Porter Carter Jr. of 604 Whitesville St., died Tuesday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Decatur.

C.E. Stevenson
C.E. Stevenson, 97, of Tallahassee, Fla., a native of Hogansville, died Monday at Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee.
Mr. Stevenson received a bachelor's degree from Oglethorpe University, a master's degree from Peabody College and did post graduate studies at the University of Georgia, Duke University and the University of Minnesota. He was an instructor in the Naval Pre - Flight Program in World War II. He was a teacher, principal and superintendent in Georgia's public schools for 17 years and retired in 1966 as an associate professor of psychology at North Georgia College after 23 years. He lived in Hogansville from 1980 until 1992 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hogansville and a former member of the Hogansville Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include a daughter and son - in - law, Gwendolyn and Steve Norris; a granddaughter, Linda Avant; two great - grandchildren, Lauren Avant and Dale Avant, all of Tallahassee; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Myrtle Hill cemetery with the Rev. John Mark Carpenter officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 this evening at the Claude A. McKibben & Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

Mrs. Lois L. Smith
Mrs. Lois Louise Smith, 83, of LaGrange died Sunday at Franklin Health Care Center in Franklin.
Mrs. Smith, born May 5, 1917, in Pike County was the daughter of the late General Jewell and Zellie Emma Bishop Gordy and attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Pike County.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Marie Clegg of LaGrange; a son, Larry Frank Smith of Montgomery, Ala.; a grandson, Donald Alan Clegg of LaGrange; two sisters, Lucy Smith of LaGrange and Mary Lee of Fairburn; two brothers, Ted Gordy of Griffin and J.D. Gordy of Barnesville; and several nieces and nephews.

Willie Burl Jones, formerly of LaGrange died Saturday in Dayton, Ohio.
Survivors include a brother, Melvin Jones of LaGrange; two sisters, Mildred Jones of LaGrange and Carolyn Tarrentt of Warner Robins; and a cousin, Louvonia Thornton of LaGrange.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at McLin Funeral Home at 2801 North Gettysburg Ave, in Dayton, Ohio.
