Alma T. Philpot, 57, of Atlanta, formerly of Hogansville, died Tuesday in Atlanta
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Corinth with the Rev. Johnny Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetey.
Thrash & Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Doris Keel
Mrs. Doris Keel, 76, of 330 Hammett Road died Wednesday at her home.
Mrs. Keel, born January 16, 1925, in LaGrange, was the daughter of the late Cary David and Ella Mae Harris Cooper. She had lived here all her life and retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company after 34 years. She was a member of East LaGrange Baptist Church where she was in the choir, a Sunday school teacher, the Young at Heart and was church secretary for over 50 years. She was a member of the Miriam Chapter of the Eastern Star and Southern Bell Pioneers Club.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin H. (Skeet) Keel of LaGrange; two daughters and sons - in - law, Kristie and Chad Holsombeck of Weston, Fla., and Hoap and Wade Benefield of Lawrenceville; a son and daughter - in - law, Thomas and Jane Keel of Marietta; seven grandchildren, nine great - grandchildren; and a niece and her husband, Sheri and Tony Knopp of LaGrange.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at East LaGrange Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Buttrum officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to East LaGrange Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Keel.

Mrs. Janice B. Jones
Mrs. Janice Anne Blankenship Jones, 59, of Largo, Fla., died Wednesday at Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park, Fla.
Mrs. Jones, born in LaGrange, was the daughter of the late Alburn and Clemma A. Blankenship. She was a 1963 graduate of LaGrange College. She was commissioned a lieutenant (jg) in the Navy Reserve where she served as an assistant manager of the Navy Exchange Stores at Treasure Island Naval Base in San Francisco, Calif. She worked for the Arch W. Roberts Company in Gainesville and St. Petersburg, Fla., as an account and chief financial officer. She retired as chief financial officer from the Allen C. Ewing & Company in 2000. She was on numerous committees of the National Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board and was appointed a Florida statewide arbitrator in disputes between stock brokerage firms and clients. She managed the bond closing for the construction of the Florida Suncoast Dome in St. Petersburg. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Largo, Fla.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Thomas L. Jones of Largo, Fla.; a son, Thomas Christopher Jones of Royal Oak, Mich.; a daughter, Terri Leigh Jones of Satellite Beach, Fla.; and two grandsons, Gabriel Thomas Jones and Ross Robert Jones of Royal Oak, Mich.
Memorial services will be March 24 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church at 1199 Highland Ave., in Largo, Fla.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Hospice of Florida Suncoast at 300 East Bay Drive in Largo, Fla. 33770.
Abbey Affordable Cremation and Funeral Service in Largo, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Katie Hendricks
Mrs. Katie Keeble Hendricks, 80, of 500 Ashford Circle died Thursday at her home.
Mrs. Hendricks, born January 12, 1921, in Randolph County, Ala. was the daughter of the late Willie Emmett and Katie Belle Owens Keeble. She had lived here all her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of South Highland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter - in - law, Joe and Sandra Hendricks of LaGrange and Tim Hendricks of Jonesboro; two granddaughters and grandsons - in - law, Leigh and David Glosson of Dallas and Sandie and William Thomas of Athens, Tenn.; five great - grandchildren, Jenny Glosson and Heather Glosson of Dallas and Nicole Fant, Whitney Thomas and Samantha Thomas, all of Athens, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alvin (Babe) Hendricks, and a son, Robert Keeble (Bob) Hendricks.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home with the Dr. Wayne Triplett officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 until 9.

Mrs. Ann J. Stilley
Mrs. Ann J. Stilley, 96, formerly of North Lewis Street, died Tuesday at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Stilley, born August 1, 1904, in Franklin, N.C., was the daughter of the late Soloman and Margaret Jacobs. A former resident of Gainesville, she had lived here since 1974 and was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square where she had been a member of the Senor Adult Choir and Merrymakers.
Survivors include a son and daughter - in - law, Max and Virginia McKay of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Tony and Patsy McKay of LaGrange, Cindy and Eric Norman of Seneca, S.C., and Paige and Ian Baker of Fort Collins, Colo.; four great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Matthew Stilley, and a daughter, Marjorie Pruitt.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Alta Vista cemetery in Gainesville with Dr. Paul R. Baxter officiating.
The family will be at the home of her son and daughter - in - law, Max and Virginia McKay at 421 Ridgecrest Road.
Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Courtney C. McCain
Courtney Chasity McCain, eight months old, of 234 Poplar Circle died Monday at West Georgia Medical Center.
She was the daughter of Samuel Earl Jr. (Sammy) and Phyllis Michelle McCain.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include two brothers, Corey and Casey McCain of LaGrange; maternal grandparents, Sue and Mike Yearwood of Franklin and Lee McCormick of LaGrange, paternal grandparents, Earl and Faye McCain and Margaret and Billy Jennings, all of LaGrange; and great - grandparents, Mrs. Lucy Lunsford and Raymond Poole, both of LaGrange.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Shadowlawn cemetery with the Rev. Doug Porter officiating.
The family will be at their home and will receive friends at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road this evening from 6 until 8.

Lee Hasty
Lee Hasty, 55, of 409 Park Ave., died Tuesday at his home.
Mr. Hasty, born December 3, 1945, in Bainbridge, was the son of the late Lee Roy Hasty Sr. and Clara Johnson Hasty Crowley. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and Atlanta Law School. He had lived here since the early 1970's and was in practice as Lee R. Hasty, P.C. He was a member of the Georgia and Troup County Bar Associations and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Hasty; two sons, Joshua Roy Hasty and Brandon Lee Hasty, all of LaGrange; a sister, Betty Nester of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Cory Crowley of Albany; a number of sisters - in - law and brothers - in - law; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road with the Revs. S.T. Janney and Mark Peak officiating. Burial will be in Meadoway Gardens.
The family will be at his home and will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jimmie Williams
Mrs. Jimmie Mae Williams, 66, of 5 Dennis Drive died Sunday at Fountain City Rehabilitation Center in Columbus.
Mrs. Williams, born August 5, 1934, in Troup County, was the daughter of the late Jim and Carrie Ferrell Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of Leete Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances King of Columbus; a sister, Roberta Hightower of LaGrange; five grandchildren, Demetria Maddox, Carlos Williams and Kimberly Williams, all of LaGrange; John Williams and Klrissa Maddox, both of Columbus; a close niece, Patricia Gates of LaGrange; nine great - grandchildren; and a number of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Leete Hill United Methodist Church at 801 Hamilton St., with the Rev. John Tompkins officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of her granddaughter at 104 Fannin Court.
Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charlie J. Parks Sr.
Charlie James Parks Sr., 68, of 202 Johnson St., died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Parks, born June 1, 1932, in Meriwether County, was the son of the late Isaac and Louella Boone Parks. He was a retired logger.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Parks and Brenda Denise Parks of LaGrange; four sons, Isaac Parks and Mason Jerome Parks of LaGrange, Charlie J. Parks Jr. of Griffin and Daniel L. Jackson of Meridian, Miss.; a sister, Marilyn Murrah of Odessadale; seven grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home with the Rev. J.R.. Ware officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemtery.
The family will be at the homes of his daughters, Linda Parks at 1006A Baldwin St., and Brenda Parks at 602B Revis St.

Edward George
Edward Anderson George, 84, of LaGrange died Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. George, born September 5, 1916, in Mississippi, was the son of the late Edward A. Sr. and Mattie Lou Dillard George. He had lived here since 1978 and was an Air Force veteran of World War II and Korea. He retired as a trust accountant from C&S; Bank in Atlanta and from LaGrange College as a professor of economics. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nina Wiley George of LaGrange; two daughters and sons - in - law, Katherine and Carl Berkowitz of Herndon, Va., and Alice and Andrew Schock of Kennessaw; and three grandchildren, Heather Berkowitz, Carter Schock and Caroline Schock.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road with the Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Oxford cemetery in Oxford.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Mr. George.

Scottie Burks
Scottie Burks, 38, of Hogansville died Monday at his home.
Mr. Burks, born January 29, 1963, in LaGrange, had lived in Hogansville most of his life and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, the Rev. Billy and Betty Burks of Hogansville; a sister and brother - in - law, Susie and Cleve Crum of Grantville; two stepsisters, Mary Ellen and Billy Corley and Karen Smith, all of Newnan; two stepbrothers, Kim and Cathy Duncan and David Duncan, all of Newnan; a grandfather, Clyde Burks of Warren, Ark.; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Allen Burks.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Claude A. McKibben & Sons Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Chapman and Harold Willis officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 this evening and Wednesday evening.
