Lee Olin Stewart
Lee Olin Stewart, 82, of Hogansville and a former resident of Sheffield, Ala., died Monday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Stewart, a native of Sheffield, was a veteran of World War II, having served as an artilleryman in Germany and France. He was a member of Highland Methodist Church and spent his life in service to his country, his family, and his Lord.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Stewart of Woodland Park, Colo.; a daughter, Shirley Stewart Adcock of Hogansville; a brother, Otis K. Stewart of Florence, Ala.; six grandchildren; and 12 great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon in Tuscumbia, Ala., with Dr. Jack McLendon officiating.
Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia was in charge of arrangements.

Leonard Raglin of 472 Mountville - Chipley Road, died this morning (Friday) at his home.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ruby M. Harris
Mrs. Ruby Moore Harris, 86, of Pine Mountain, died Thursday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Harris, born July 16, 1916, in Harris County, was the daughter of the late Jack and Nellie Mae Harris. She was a retired bookkeeper and sales clerk for Marshall's Furniture.
Mrs. Harris an active member of Hopewell United Methodist Church where she was a former secretary, treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and member of the church Women's Missionary Society.
Mrs. Harris initiated the fund raising effort that built the existing fellowship hall at Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Willis Eugene Harris; a son and daughter - in - law, Phillip and Sandra Harris, all of Pine Mountain; grandson, Jack Harris of Nashville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Melanie Colquitt and great - grandson, Kyle Colquitt, both of Pine Mountain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Pine Mountain with the Rev. David Phillips officiating assisted by Rev. Mike Ayers and Dr. Zane Chambers.
Visitations will be this evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton.

Alga Robinson, 81, of Hogansville died this morning.
The Claude A. McKibben & Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.

Curtis C. Clayton
Curtis C. Clayton, 83, of 908 Lakewood Drive died Monday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Clayton, born August 6, 1917, in Ripley, Miss., was the son of the late Roy and Mims Cox Clayton. He was a 1941 graduate of Louisiana State University and a member of it's Alumni Association. He was a naval engineer and physicist with the Department of the Navy and the United States Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D. C., until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the Lions Club, Sportsmans Club, Meals on Wheels and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth R. Clayton of LaGrange; two daughters and a son - in - law, Patricia Clayton of Washington, D.C., and Diane and John Gaquin of Westford, Mass.; two grandchildren, Patricia and Johnny; a brother, Dr. Ralph Clayton of Ripley, Miss.; a niece, Jean Ellis Pinkard; and a nephew, R. P. McClendon, both of San Diego, Calif.; and a sister - in - law, Eloise McClendon of LaFayette, Ala.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the LaFayette City cemetery in LaFayette, Ala., with the Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating.
The family will be at his home and will receive friends this evening from 7 until 8:30 at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of LaGrange or a favority charity.

Jeff Costley Sr.
Jeff Costley Sr., 88, of 600 Jenkins St., died Tuesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Costley, born October 31, 1912, in Heard County, was the son of the late Warner and Lela Wilson Costley. He had lived here most of his live and retired from the Live Oak Plant of Milliken & Company. He was a charter member of the Baptist Tabernacle where he was a former choir member.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eunice Costley; two sons and a daughter - in - law, Jeff Costley Jr. and Lamar and Debbie Costley, all of LaGrange; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Todd and Tammy Costley of Hogansville, Kelly and Jeremy Henderson of Opelika, Ala., Lisa Hurst, Brian Costley, Michelle and Alan Willingham and Marci Costley, all of LaGrange, Cindy and Ed Dickerson of Stockbridge, Keith and Lynn Costley of Franklin and Kevin Costley of San Francisco, Calif.; 11 great - grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, James Huzzie of LaGrange.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Baptist Tabernacle with the Revs. J.C. McMillian, Jimmy McMillian and A. Hansel Parmer officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery in Heard County.
The family will be at the home of his son and daughter - in - law, Lamar and Debbie Costley, at 5018 Old West Point Road and will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home.

Dustin James Hickey
Dustin James Hickey, infant son of Jay and Natalie Hickey of LaGrange, died Monday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his grandparents, Wayne and Marie Harrington of LaGrange, Carol Hickey and her fiance, Danny Stogner of Hogansville, and Mike and Thomasa Hickey of Franklin; great - grandparents, Ada Mae Lynch and Thelma Williams, both of LaGrange, Johnny and Avis Duffee of Alabama and Havard Brazeal of Franklin; and great - great - grandparents, Robert Lee and Lizzie Lou Hickey of Franklin.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lighthouse Church of God with the Rev. Ronnie Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road this evening from 6 until 8.

Mrs. Verline Webb
Mrs. Verline H. Webb, 90, of the Florence Hand Home, formerly of 2001 Youngs Mill Road died Monday.
Mrs. Webb, born May 13, 1910, in Knoxville, Ga., was the daughter of the late Jack and Alma Stroud Hancock. She had lived here since 1937 and retired after 27 years as a bookkeeper for Paul Cole Drug Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square where was a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Wright of Bradenton, Fla.; three sons, Marion C. Webb of Pikeville, Tenn., Lee C. Webb of Calhoun and Robin L. Webb of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Louise Park of Griffin; a sister - in - law, Gloria Hancock of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Denson Wright of Ellenton, Fla., Derek Wright of Bradenton, Fla., and Deborah Colbert of Gaffney, S.C.; six great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home with Dr. Paul R. Baxter officiating. Burial will be in Rosemere cemetery in Opelika, Ala., at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday one hour prior to the service.

William Pendergrass
William Bullard Pendergrass, 88, of 131 North River Circle in Hogansville died Saturday at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Pendergrass, born October 31, 1912, in Coweta County, was the son of the late John Nixon and Mary Love Cochran Pendergrass. He had lived here most of his life, was an Army veteran of World War II, a carpenter and member of Local Union 225 in Atlanta. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Linda Pendergrass of Hogansville; three sons and daughters - in - law, William L. and Betty Pendergrass of Florida, Rudy Paul and Mary Pendergrass of Phenix City, Ala., and Oscar David Pendergrass of Newnan; and other children, Leona Christine Newsome of Newnan, Edna E. and Tino Patti of Douglasville, Pearl Stone of Salinas, Kan., and Martha Sharon and Thomas Nally of Hogansville; and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lei Pendergrass, a daughter, Lucy Fay Pendergrass, and a son, Roger Stanley Pendergrass.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Fort Mitchell National cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, Ala., with Pastor Thomas Boyd officiating.
Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for James P. Parker, 91, formerly of Greenville and Luthersville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Miracle Way Baptist Church in Senoia with the Revs. Roland Ayers and Terry Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery in Griffin.
The family will receive friends at the Claude A. McKibben & Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville this evening from 6 until 8.

Jerry L. Burke
Jerry Lee Burke, 22, of LaGrange, died Wednesday of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mr. Burke, born May 22, 1978, in LaGrange was a lifelong resident of Troup County and was a member of Calvary Family Worship Center in Mountville.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie Dawson Burke of LaGrange; his mother, Irene Dunlap Burke of West Point; six brothers, Danny Burke and Donald Toney; both of Hogansville, Andy Burke, Michael Toney and Karl Toney, all of LaGrange and Donnie Ray Burke of West Point; and several nieces nephews, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be Friday at 4 p.m. at Calvary Family Worship Center in Mountville with the Rev. Carl Knowles officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the Claude A.. McKibben & Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville this evening from 7 until 9.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Attaway Houston, 84, of Grantville will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Claude A. McKibben & Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville with the Rev. Jimmie L. Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Grantville Cemetery.
