Mrs. Julia R. Haynes
Mrs. Julia R. Haynes, 85, of Silver Springs, Md., died April 27 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Springs.
Mrs. Haynes, born July 7, 1915, in LaGrange was the daughter of the late Jasper and Molly Render. She was retired.
Survivors include a son, Josh Roberts of Beltsville, Md.; four grandchildren, Natalie, George, Michael and Mark; two great - grandchildren; three great - great - grandchildren; and two sisters, Lorene Boykin and Annie Foster, both of LaGrange.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Union Chapel United Methodist Church on Hammett Road with the Rev. Frank Dean officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the home of her sisters, Annie Foster at 609 Chattahoochee St., and Lorene Boykin at 200 Kings Park Lane.
Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mary Boone
Mrs. Mary Will Dodgen Boone, 80, of Five Points, Ala., died Wednesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Boone, born March 14, 1921, in Chambers County, Ala., had worked at the Lanett Mill of West Point Pepperell and was the owner/operator of a convenience store in Five Points. She was a member of Stateline Congregational Christian Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter - in - law, Jack and Connie Boone of Five Points; two brothers, Walter Dodgen of Shawmut, Ala., and J.C. Dodgen of Five Points; and two grandchildren, Jeremy Boone and Brandon Boone, both of Five Points.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. EDT in the Stateline Congregational Christian Church cemetery with the Rev. Leon Fowler officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stateline Congregational Christian Church in memory of Mrs. Boone.
The family will receive friends this evening at Johnson - Brown Service Funeral Home in Lanett from 6 until 8.

Brandon David Smith
Brandon David Smith, 18, of Albany, formerly of LaGrange, died Thursday.
The son of David and Kathy Smith of Albany, He had lived there since 1987 and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church and was educated at Sherwood Christian Academy where he was a member of the football and tennis teams and worked part - time at ABC Plant Nursery in Albany. He had been an honor camper at Winshape Wilderness Camp at Berry College.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a brother, Jonathan Smith of Albany; a sister, Lindsay Smith of Albany; grandparents, Ethel and Joe Livingston Jr. and George and Ida Smith, all of LaGrange; aunts and uncles, Ann and Wynn Thompson of Macon, Candy and Joe Livingston III of Canton, David Livingston of Clearwater, Fla., Susan and Phil Johnsey of Nashville, Tenn., and Evan and Meg Smith of Camden, S.C.; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany with Dr. Michael C. Catt, and the Revs. Tony Haefs and Michael Lewis officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Shadowlawn cemetery in LaGrange with the Revs. Max McCord and Joel Walker officiating at graveside.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 until 5 at Kimbrell - Stern Funeral Home in Albany.
Those desiring may contribute to the Brandon Smith Memorial Scholarhip Fund c/o Sherwood Christian Academy in Albany.

Carman Johnson Sr.
Carman Lee Johnson Sr., 84, of 1028 Salem Road died Friday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Johnson, born November 18, 1916, in Randolph County, Ala., was the son of the late John Otis and Annie Lou Towler Johnson. He had lived here since 1938, was a carpenter and farmer and retired from the Unity Plant of Milliken & Company after 35 years. He was a member of the 25 year Club of Callaway Mills Company and a member and deacon of Gray Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Cardwell Johnson of LaGrange; a daughter and son - in - law, Ruby Ann and Wallace Hester of West Point; a son and daughter - in - law, Walter O. (Scoot) and Martha Johnson; a daughter - in - law, Beverley Johnson, all of LaGrange; six grandsons; 14 great - grandchildren; a great - great granddaughter; two sisters and a brother - in - law, Loyette and Joe Horne of Orlando, Fla., and Wilma Boynton of Winter Park, Fla., three sisters - in - law, Sara Johnson, Ruth Johnson and Frances Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Carmen Lee Johnson Jr., and five brothers, Grady Johnson, E.C. Johnson, Autrey Johnson, Herman Johnson and James Johnson.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Rosemont Baptist Church with the Rev. Max McCord officiating. Burial will be in Meadoway Gardens. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will be at his home and will receive friends at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home this evening from 7 until 9.

Luther Lovelace of Dayton, Ohio died Friday in Dayton.
Local survivors include one sister, Lois Williams of LaGrange.
Funeral services and interment will be in Dayton, where Bowman's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Louise Butler
Mrs. Louise Butler, 84, a former resident of Amberwood Apartments in LaGrange, died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Butler, a retired nursing assistant at West Georgia Medical Center, was born July 25, 1916 in Randolph County, Ala., daughter of the late Coleman and Nannie Linville Gaston. She had lived here for the past 50 years and was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son - in - law, Jean and James Pitts of LaGrange; a son and daughter - in - law, Tommy and Sheryl Butler of LaGrange; one sister, Annie Jo Smith of Sylacauga, Ala.; three grandchildren, Shane Butler, Jennifer Smith, both of LaGrange, and Lynn Worthy of Roanoke, Ala.; four great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. (EDT) at Smyrna Baptist Church cemetery in Randolph County, Ala., with the Revs. Max McCord and Fitzgerald Brown officiating.
The family will be at the home of her grandson, Shane Butler, at 6070 West Point Road and will receive friends at Hunter - Allen Myhand Funeral Home this afternoon from 4 until 6 o'clock.

Mrs. Lucille B. Harris
Mrs. Lucille Burson Harris, 86, of Hogansville died Friday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Harris was born in Troup County on Aug. 23, 1914, daughter of the late William Polk Burson and the late Emma Thompson Burson. She had lived most of her life in Hogansville, where she was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and the Amazing Grace Sunday School class.
She was the wife of the late Charles E. Harris.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Jones of Hogansville; two sisters - in - law, Mrs. Louise Burson of Hogansville and Mrs. Elizabeth Burson of Douglasville; and several nieces, nephews, great - nieces and great - nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Hogansville with the Rev. Wesley Boatman and Mr. Roy Wright officiating. Interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

James Byron Goldin
James Byron Goldin, 71, of LaGrange, died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Goldin, born April 11, 1930, in Rockmart, was the son of the late Dr. Robert B. and Estelle McBrayer Goldin. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia where he played football and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after over 30 years as a conservationist. He had lived here since 1975 and was a volunteer at Callaway Gardens.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Geroline Rogers Goldin; two daughters and sons - in - law, Lee Anne and Richard Gracy Sr. of Dothan, Ala., and Sally and John Schepps of Grapevine, Texas; a brother, Joel W. Goldin; a sister, Mary Beth Hogg, both of Rockmart; four grandchildren, Richard Gracy Jr., Allison Lee Gracy and Sarah Elizabeth Gracy, all of Dothan, and Lauren Rose Schepps of Grapevine, Texas.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rose Hill cemetery in Rockmart with the Rev. Ed Elliott officiating.
The family will receive friends at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road this evening from 6 until 8.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Juanita Marie Hurston - Johnson, 51, of Roanoke, Ala., died Saturday at her home.
Mrs. Hurston - Johnson, born December 22, 1949, in Heard County, was the daughter of Mrs. Katie Bell Whatley of LaGrange and the late Alas Smith. She had lived in LaGrange most of her life, having moved to Roanoke seven months ago.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Joseph Johnson of Roanoke; a brother, William Whatley of Hogansville; two sisters, Penny Sivell and Stelle Hogan, both of LaGrange; a stepson and stepdaughter - in - law, Jason and Chrissy Johnson of LaGrange; three stepgrandchildren, Haley, Hunter and Hannah Johnson of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road. Entombment will be in Shadowlawn Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 until 8.

Mrs. Cathy L. Carlisle
Mrs. Cathy Sabrina Lovelace Carlisle of Lanett, Ala., died Thursday at her home.
Mrs. Carlisle, born February 5, 1967, Troup County, was a 1986 graduate of Troup High School, received her bachelor's degree in office administration from Alabama State University and a master's degree from Troy State University in counseling and education. She was employed at East Alabama Mental Health as a therapist. She was a member of Evening Springs Baptist Church and the Auburn Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Survivors include her husband, Willie J. Carlisle; a son, Jelon Carlisie; a daughter, Chelsea Carlisle, all of Lanett; her mother, Elizabeth A. Lovelace; a sister, Rosiland Lovelace, both of West Point; two brothers, Timothy Lovelace of West Point and Marty Lovelace of Atlanta; a grandmother, Clorine Lovelace of West Point; two aunts, Lauretta Lovelace of Columbus and Lizzie Felix of LaGrange; an uncle and his wife, Reginald Maurice and Dana Lovelace of Atlanta; her mother - in - law, Ola M. Carlisle; two sisters - in - law, Mildred Roberts and Hilda Hill, all of Lanett; two brothers - in - law, and a sister - in - law, Eddie and Cassie Carlisle and Nick Carlisle, all of Valley, Ala.; a close niece, Miracle Lovelace of Montgomery, Ala.; eight nieces; seven nephews; seven great - aunts; a close cousin, Valerie Pitts, of Columbus; and a number of other cousins, relative and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. EDT at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in LaFayette, Ala., with the Revs. Elijah Jackson Jr., Michael Stiggers, Anthony Shealey, and Bradley Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Marseilles cemetery in West Point. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
