Brenda Diane Brock Boozer
Brenda Diane Brock Boozer, age 50, of McDonough, Georgia died August 30, 2006. Mrs. Boozer was born in Coweta County, the daughter of the late Nancy Yvonne Sitton and Allen Lee Brock. She was a devoted real estate agent with Coldwell Banker, Bullard Realty. She attended McDonough Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, James Boozer of McDonough; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Scott Whitmire of McDonough; stepson, Sean Boozer of Alexandria, Alabama; grandchildren, Grace and Luke Whitmire of McDonough; siblings, Nancy and Ed Conley of Woodstock, Allen and Tracy Brock of Concord; and nieces and nephews.
Services were held September 2 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Minister David Decker officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ralph Clifford Painter
Ralph Clifford Painter, Sr., age 80, of McDonough, Georgia died September 10, 2006 at his home after a long illness while on dialysis and a kidney transplant at Emory University Hospital. Ralph was born on August 28, 1926 in Anderson, South Carolina, the son of the late Sullivan and Annie Painter. He attended TECH High School and enjoyed a career with the U.S. Marine Corps as Master Sgt. in WWII and the Korean Conflict, U.S. Air Force Reserves and a Lt. for the City of Atlanta Fire Department as a Fire Inspector. He was a member of the 1st and 3rd Marine Div. Assn., and Georgia Firefighters Assn. He had a passion for traveling to many foreign countries on the QE-2, thus traveling on the maiden voyage, Queen Mary. He also had a love for miniature trains. Ralph was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hall Painter; and mother, Annie L. Boggs.
He is survived by his children, Richard H. and Cindy Painter, Beverly and David Whisenant, Ralph (Rusty) Painter; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Nichols, nieces and nephews. Ralph also leaves behind his loving care-givers, Tony and Nancy Moye, Ms. Marilyn McKinney, Mrs. Tina Holland; and many loving friends all over the world, including his beloved companion, Mary Stewart Moye of McDonough.
Services will be held Wednesday, September 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Latter Day Saints Church, 25 Moseley Rd., (corner of Hwy 155 and Moseley Rd.) in Stockbridge, with Bishop Paul Raylston officiating. Remains will be placed in state at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Atlanta. The family received friends Tuesday 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. David McKechnie Hay
David McKechnie Hay, age 70, of McDonough, Georgia died August 25, 2006. Mr Hay was born September 19, 1935 in Fargo, North Dakota, the son of Donald Gordon Hay and Lillian McKechnie. He married Mary Campbell Carmichael on June 30, 1961. He attended Ithaca High School, Duke University (B.A., 1957), Yale University (B.D., 1960; M.A. 1962; Ph.D. in New Testament, 1965), and studied at the University of Tübingen (1963-4). He was a professor at Princeton Theological Seminary (1964-1971) and at Coe College where he was Joseph McCabe Professor of Religion (1971-2001). As an important scholar in New Testament, Pauline, and Philo studies, he authored two books, Glory at the Right Hand (1973) and Colossians (2000), edited several volumes, and wrote numerous journal articles. In addition to his life as a scholar and teacher, he was a lover of music, especially Wagnerian opera. He played the violin, organ, and piano and composed several piano pieces for his family. He was truly a Renaissance man, a beloved teacher, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Mary Cameron Hay-Rollins and husband Rob of Oxford, Ohio; son, Michael David Malchow-Hay and wife Laura of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Turner Cameron Rollins and Sydney Ray Rollins of Oxford, Ohio; Twyla Kaylee Malchow-Hay of Portland, Oregon; stepmother, Jane Hay of Waterbury, Connecticut; brother, John Hay and wife Carol Lynn of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; sister, Jean Hay of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Carol Hunt and husband Hugh Hunt of Marietta.
Services were held August 29 at McDonough City Cemetery, with Rev. Rachel Knoll officiating. A memorial service followed at Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, with Rev. Dr. Gary Charles and Dr. Beth Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the David Hay Religious Scholarship Fund, Coe College, 1220 First Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52402. Dora Lucy Cleghorn Hall
Dora Lucy Cleghorn Hall, age 78, of McDonough, Georgia died August 26, 2006. Mrs. Hall was born January 13, 1928 in Turner County, the daughter of the late Essie Mardell Parks and Avery Cleghorn. She retired from Wool-worth after 35 years; was a member of Sharon Baptist Church; and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clinton (J.C.) Hall in 1982; a son, James Clinton Hall, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Hall, Mary Harper, Nancy Tribble; and brother, Jesse Cleghorn.
She is survived by her children, Linda and Jack Elliot of Monticello, Loraine and Paul Carder of Cumming, Jerry and Bette Hall of Snellville, Johnny Hall of Sugar Hill, Steve and Dana Hall of McDonough; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Martha Fletcher of Chula, Lucile and Troy Neisler of Macon, Ave Cleghorn of Brunswick, Frank and Jean Cleghorn of Albany, Ed and Mity Cleghorn of Rebecca, Wynell and Bobby Oliver of Macon, Sam and Leann Cleghorn of Ray City, Marie Cleghorn of Fort Valley; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held August 29 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Lewis officiating. Interment Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Barbara Lee Elliot
Barbara Lee Elliot, age 66, of McDonough, Georgia died Saturday, August 26, 2006. Mrs. Elliot was born January 26, 1940 in Ft. Kent, Maine, the daughter of the late Neil and Elise Michaud.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bill Elliot of McDonough; children, Bob and Susan Elliot of Eugene, Oregon, Debbie and Stephen Hunter of Wantagh, New York, Michelle Fidler of McDonough; grandchildren, Andrea Elliot, Neil Elliot, Nicole Hunter, Marissa Fidler, and Marc Fidler.
Services were held August 29 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Elliot. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Vernon Leroy Bull
Vernon Leroy Bull, age 87, of McDonough, Georgia died August 21, 2006. Mr. Bull was born November 19, 1918 in Westfield, Massachusetts, the son of the late Etta Hall and Seth Guy Bull. Mr. Bull was a devoted husband, father, and grandpa to everyone who knew him. He was a handyman, enjoyed gardening, woodworking and making toys for his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Dukeshire Bull.
He is survived by his children, Seth and Berta Bull of Humancao, Puerto Rico, Lester and Sue Bull of Rialto, California; grandchildren, Seth and Becky Bull of McDonough, Leigh Ann and Dan Davis of Cumming, Chris and Amber Bull of Rialto; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Ella, Carson, Anna, Ryleigh and Ethan; brother, Floyd Bull of Wyben, Massachusetts.
Services were held September 9 at Southhampton Cemetery in Southhampton, Massachusetts. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

William Duke
William “Bill” Duke, age 77 of Locust Grove, Georgia died August 22, 2006. He was retired from Bellsouth after many years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Yvonne Duke; daughter, Joni Bartel and husband Keith of Stockbridge; son, Billy Duke and wife Becky of McDonough; grandsons, Jimmy Duke, Daniel Duke; brothers, Hiram Duke and Jack Duke.
Services were held August 24 at Horis A. Ward’s Fairview Chapel, with Reverend Jim Johnson officiating. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1374 Manchester Drive, Conyers, Georgia, or The American Cancer Society. Horis A. Ward Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Lucy Owen
Lucy Owen, age 82, of Stockbridge, Georgia died August 22, 2006. Mrs. Owen was born in Rest Community, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Nora Cleo Edmondson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Jackson Owen.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Richard) Cochran of Stockbridge; sons, Tom (Susan) Owen of Bostwick, Eddie (Allena) Owen of Madison; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Russell (Bernice) Edmondson; and sisters, Catherine Hardwick, Betty Jo Bowen, all of Fayetteville; sisters-in-law, Margaret Callaway and Gwen Owen, both of Stockbridge; and brother-in-law, Wilson Burch of Fayetteville.
Services were held August 24 at First Baptist Church of Stock-bridge, with Rev. Tom Owen, Rev. Steve Murell and Rev. John Ozley officiating. Interment Stockbridge City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, 1405 Clifton Road, Atlanta, Georgia, 30322. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Eexie Anderson
Eexie (Mrs. T.L.) Anderson, age 92, of Mableton, Georgia died August 22, 2006. Mrs. Anderson was born in Atlanta, the daughter of Zack Taylor and Azzie Lee Tuck. She was a member of the Stockbridge Assembly of God. She was an active church member and a member of the choir in her earlier years. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed cooking, canning and freezing vegetables from the garden. When she was able, she loved going to the beach and the mountains. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Lee Anderson, Sr.; and daughter, Beverly Reynold.
She is survived by her daughter, Jerrilyn (Jerri) and (J.T.) James Braswell of McDonough; sons, Tommie (Sandy) Anderson, Jr. of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Terry J. Anderson of Marietta; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held August 25 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Pastor Jerry Stewart officiating. Interment New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery in Marietta. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
