Mrs. Jacqueline B. Langford of Griffin, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002 at the Spalding Regional Hosptial.
Mrs. Langford, born Dec. 22, 1942, in Heard County, was the daughter of the late James Bonner and the late Jeanette Gaddy Bonner.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Langford Sr; sons and daughter - in - law, Howard Langford Jr., Rick and Jacki Langford, all of Griffin; stepdaughter and her husband, Rita and Dave Basket of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, April MacLane of Atlanta, Lesli Morgan of Griffin, Heather Keenum of Hawaii, Jennifer Scott, Bobby Scott, Ricky Langford, and Hanna Langford, all of Griffin; a great - grandson, Micah MacLane of Atlanta; brother and sister - in - law, James and Susan Bonner of Hogansville; sisters and brothers - in - law, Shirley and Grady Thompson of Duran, Jean and Billy McWhorter of Hogansville, Nadine and Lawson Boyd of Hogansville, and special friends, Carla and Steve Higgins; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jacqueline B. Langford will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 in the Warren Haisten Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in the Westwood Gardens.
Haisten McCullough Funeral Home, 1155 Everee Inn Rd., is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Dora Lee Ogletree Winston, 97, of 401 Union St., died Thursday at Hospice LaGrange.

Mrs. Mary E. Butler
Mrs. Mary Elma Butler, 92, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002 at the Brian Center.
Mrs. Butler, born August 19, 1910, in Covington, was the daughter of the late James Patrick and Mattie Cheshire White. She was a member of First Assembly of God and was retired from West Point Pepperell with 25 years of service.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara C. Piper of Mountville; two sons, James W. Butler of LaGrange and Kenneth L. Butler of Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great - grandchildren; and seven great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Everett Leon Butler.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 in the chapel of Striffler - Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Steve Comer officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Striffler - Hamby Mortuary, 1010 Mooty Bridge Road is in charge of the arrangements.

Ruby Anna Hendrick
Mrs. Ruby Anna Hendrick, 82, of LaGrange, died Thursday at Twin Fountains Nursing Home.
Mrs. Hendrick, born Nov. 10, 1920, in Hogansville, was the daughter of the late Robert George and Cora Emma Lee Johnson Schmidt. She had lived here all of her life and was a homemaker and member of Northside Church of God.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Crowe, Elaine Marterella, and Shelby Hendrick; a son, Robert H. Hendrick; seven grandchildren; and nine great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Mackey Brown Hendrick, and a grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Shadowlawn cemetery with Min. Frank Lyons officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

David W. Raymond
David William Raymond, died Dec. 17, 2002 in the loving company of his family after fighting a brave battle with cancer.
Mr. Raymond was born May 15, 1941, in Pontiac, Mich. He grew up in St. Petersburg, Fla., where he attended Tri - State University in Indiana, graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering, then moved to Tucson in 1966 where he worked and retired from Hughes Missile Systems in 1996.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Glen, son, John David, and a daughter, Michelle Marie.
He leaves the hard work of continuing without him here on earth to his wife, Barbara, sons, Ron (Elizabeth), William (Heidi), Phil (Tracy) and his grandchildren, Rebecca, Johnathan, Jessica, Caylee, Ryan and Michael.
His love, guidance, wit, sense of humor. and jokes will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Raymond's Celebration of Life Services will be Friday, Dec. 20 2002 at 7 p.m. at Dove of Peace Lutheran Church, 665 W. Roller Coaster Rd., Tucson, Ariz.
The family will receive friends following the service at All Saints Hall at Dove of Peace.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Mr. Raymond.
Avalon Funeral Home Chapel in Tucson, Ariz. is in charge of the arrangements.

Jimmy Nixon Sr.
Jimmy Nixon Sr., 66, of 2525 Bartley Road died Tuesday at his home.
Mr. Nixon, born Dec.12, 1936, in LaGrange, was the son of the late Charles Daniel and Lucile Yates Nixon. He had lived here all his life and had been employed at Dixie Mill.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Nixon of LaGrange; two daughters and a son - in - law, Jackie and Darren Rice of Clinton, S.C. and Joanne Sherrod of LaGrange; two sons and a daughter - in - law, Jimmy Nixon Jr. and Davie and Lisa Nixon, all of LaGrange; seven grandchildren, Kasey Edwards, Krystal Edwards, Destiny Rice, Lamar Browning, Heather Browning, Haley Nixon and Drew Nixon; a sister, Sarah Kelley of Fredonia, Ala.; and two brothers, Ray Nixon and Lewis Nixon, both of LaGrange.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Restlawn Memory Gardens with the Revs. Roland Cross and Gerald Parmer officiating.
The family will be at his home.

John Niles Wilks
John Niles Wilks, 86, formerly of LaGrange, died Wednesday, Dec. 18. 2002, at North Georgia Medical Center in Ellijay.
Mr. Wilkes, born Mar. 17, 1916, in Troup County, was the son of the late Willie Grigg and Clista Stephens Wilks. He was a graduate o the University of North Carolina and was a retired textile engineer with 25 years of service at West Point Pepperell. He was a former member of Rosemont Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Jane Roberts of Blue Springs; a son, Jack Wilks of Loganville; a sister, Connie White; a brother, William Wilks, both of LaGrange; five grandchildren and nine great - grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Striffler - Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Max McCord officiating. Burial will be in Hillview East Cemetery.
The family will receive friend tonight from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road.

Jimmy L. Smith Jr.
Jimmy Lee Smith, Jr., 52, of 210 Brown St., died Dec. 13, 2002 at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Smith, born April 3, 1950, in Troup County was the son of the late Jimmy Lee Smith Sr., and Eartha Turner Smith. He was disabled and was a member of Arbor Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Brian Smith of LaGrange; a daughter, Adrianne Smith of Atlanta; two sisters, Mrs. Laverne Hill of LaGrange and Miss Monique Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; an uncle, William 'Peter' Turner of Atlanta; a niece, Camilla Hill of LaGrange; a nephew, Mitchell (Katherine) Hill of LaGrange; and three grandchildren, Corbin Smith, Jamonte Smith, and Shaikaan Smith, all of LaGrange. He was preceded in death his wife, Rose Ann Thomas Smith.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Arbor Grove Baptist Church with Dr. H.J. Long will officiating. Burial will be in the Southview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at his home.
West Georgia Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Hettie C. Gross
Mrs. Hettie Crowell Gross, 101, formerly of Leisure Living, died Tuesday at Twin Fountains Nursing Home.
Mrs. Gross, born June 3, 1901, in Meriwether County, was the daughter of the late William Arnold and Sarah Anna Bell Murphy Crowell. She had lived here since 1923 and was retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company with 41 years of service. Mrs. Gross was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Pink Lady Auxiliary, and the Telephone Pioneer Organization.
Survivors will include four nieces and their spouses, Jean and Jim Windom of Grantville, Janet and Burt Smith of Newnan, Betty and Frank Hanner of Springfield, Tenn., Agnes and Clyde Brown of LaGrange; and other nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Shadowlawn cemetery with Dr. Harry Daniel officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a favorite charity in memory of Mrs. Gross.

Raymond David William, died Dec. 17, 2002 in the loving company of his family after fighting a brave battle with cancer.
