Lenora C. Santiago
Lenora Culberson Santiago, formerly of LaGrange, died in Dearborn Heights, Mich.
Survivors include her husband, Leon Santiago; three daughters, Alicia Santiago Michelle Thomas, Alvina Johnson; a son, Leon Santiago; ten grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; a sister - in - law, Louise Culberson of LaGrange; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Martin, John Will, Terrell, Lawrence Jr., Kelly Frank and Dock and five sisters, Emma Jane, Sarah, Clara, Lilla and Willie Lou.
Funeral services and visitation will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.

Mary M. Davidson
Mrs. Mary Marsh Davidson, 75, of 412 Camelot Drive died Thursday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Davidson was the daughter of the late Rev. Tom Sr. and Mary Ogletree Davidson, was the youngest of their 10 children and attended Spelman College. In 1949 moved to Buffalo, N.Y., and worked in the Buffalo Public School System for 24 years. After her retirement in 1990, she worked briefly in LaGrange City Schools.
She was a motivator and disciplinarian who inspired generations of inner city children to pursue their aspirations through education. Her warmth, caring, nurturing, yet firm demeanor positively affected and continues to inspire all with whom she has interacted. She taught perseverance, self - respect, the pursuit of excellence and kindness as the keys to success and was always current on issues of the day and reflected often on the importance of social and cultural history, the human struggle and the attainment of goals and dreams despite the odds. Her children and grandchildren are the embodiment of her essence and being, they are her proudest legacy.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin Marsh Sr., of LaGrange; a daughter and son - in - law, Madeline and the Rev. J. Willard Cofield Jr. of Springfield, Mass.; four sons and daughters - in - law, Dr. Franklin Jr. and Deborah Marsh of Hartsdale, N.Y., Wilbert (Van) and Carolyn Marsh of Groose Pointe Park, N.Y., Myron and Wanda Marsh of Buffalo N.Y., and Dwayne and Latonia Marsh of Hamburg, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, Junius, Linnzi, Marlowe, Mandi, Jeremy, Jennifer, Jessica, Brandon, Dwayne Jr., and Alina; a great - grandson, Jakwon; two brothers, Tom Davidson Jr. and Ogletree Davidson, both of Cleveland Ohio; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church on Fannin Street with Dr. Clarence Sams and the Rev. J. Willard Cofield Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United Negro College Fund in memory of Mrs. Davidson.
Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charles Dee Ragsdale
Charles Dee Ragsdale, 60, of Dallas, died Saturday at Wellstar Paulding Hospital.
Mr. Ragsdale, born Dec. 28, 1942, in Hiram, was the son of the late Buren Dee and Hettie Marie Estes Ragsdale. He was a heavy equipment operator and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Earlene Ragsdale of Dallas; two daughters, Lisa Jan Ragsdale of Douglasville, and Laura Lee Green of Dallas; four grandchildren, Amber and Austin Green of Dallas and Justin and Austin Worthington of Douglasville; two sisters and brothers - in - law, Glenda and Larry Hunter of Carrollton and Iris and Jack Robinson of Villa Rica; two step brothers, Ralph Bevins of Powder Springs and Wayne Bevins of Lithia Springs; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Buren Dee and Gertrude Ragsdale and Howard and Hettie Marie Bivens, Lawrence, Warren and Gene Bivens and Mary Jennings.
Funeral services will be this morning at 11 in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home in Dallas with the Rev. Thomas Garner officiating. . Music will be by Jeff Eberhart and Becky Beardon. Pallbearers will be Wendell Adair, Gary Sweet, John Glenn Adair, Dustin Sweet, Larry Hunter, Luke Hunter Billy Deal and Bryan Adair. Burial will be in Cheatham Hill Cemetery.

Dora Lee Tanner
Dora Lee Tanner, 82, of LaGrange, died Sunday March 16, 2003 at her home.
Mrs. Tanner, born Oct. 2, 1920, in Greenville, was the daughter of the late Lawson David and Marie Fuller Cole. She retired from Dunson Mill and for 50 years she was a member of Dunson Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, served on many committees and was in Funseekers.
Survivors include three daughters, Gertrude Andrews of LaGrange, Edith Ray of Hapeville, Patricia Parker of Dawson, Ala., two sons, David Tanner of LaGrange and Harry Tanner of Corpus Christi, Texas; 14 grandchildren, 18 great - grandchildren, three great - great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Harry E. Tanner and a son, Robert E. Tanner.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road with the Rev. Andrew J. Hall officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 until 8.

Janice Ussery Rush
Mrs. Janice Ussery Rush, 56, of LaGrange died this morning at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Rush, born Jan. 27, 1947, in LaGrange, was the daughter of the late Buck and Marie Railey Ussery. She was a member of Baptist Tabernacle.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Rance Rush of LaGrange; two daughters, Shannon Laney of Augusta and Brandi Welborn of Columbus; a son, Isaac Rush of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Zachary Welborn of Columbus and Jackson and Owen Laney of Augusta; five brothers, Horace Ussery, Doyle Ussery, Norman Ussery, Vernon Ussery, and Albert Ussery; three sister, Patricia McRae, Betty Jean Cavender and Rhonda Barnes, all of LaGrange.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003, in the chapel of Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road with the Rev. Michael Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to Hospice LaGrange in memory of Mrs. Rush.

Marjorie H. Myers
Mrs. Marjorie Hagan Myers, 75, of LaGrange died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Myers, born Aug. 12, 1927, in Huntington, W.Va., was the daughter of the late Richard E. and Beulah Hagan. She was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church where she was a former member of the Altar Guild. She was a longtime volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. A. Chuck Myers of LaGrange; two sons, Richard H. Myers of LaGrange and Michael H. Myers of Albany; four grandchildren, Justin A. Myers and M. Ryan Myers, both of Albany and Trevor Myers and Paige Woody, both of LaGrange.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, at St. Mark’s Episcopal church with the Rev. Lori Lowe officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Red Cross, 234 Main St., LaGrange, Ga., 30240.
Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Joyce Knight
Mrs. Mary Joyce Veal Knight, 64, of 152 North Lake Drive died Sunday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Knight, born Jan. 28, 1939, in LaGrange, was the daughter of the late John Willie and Evelyn Prince Veal. She had lived here most of her life and retired from Central Supply at West Georgia Medical Center. She was a member of Westside Church of God.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons - in - law, Lynn and Bruce Steele of LaGrange, Lisa and Stanley Bennett of Dublin and Linda Safford of LaGrange; a sister, Hilda Carter of LaGrange; a brother and sister - in - law, Earnest and Shirley Veal of LaGrange; seven grandchildren, Anthony Steele, and Melanie Self, both of LaGrange, April Bennett. Stan Bennett and Mandee Bennett all of Dublin, and Nikki Sledge and Kassie Sledge, both of LaGrange; two great - grandchildren, Alexis Self and Tyler Self, both of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. Knight.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hunter - Allen Myhand chapel with the Rev. E.L. Addis officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends this evening at the funeral home from 7 until 9.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may make contributions to the Kidney Foundation.

Peggy Strong Horton
Mrs. Peggy Ann Strong Horton, 55, of 3 Sirrene St., formerly of Ypsilanti, Mich., died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Horton, born Feb. 7, 1948, in Troup County, was the daughter of Thelma Ann Strong of LaGrange and the late Lonnie Nolan Strong and was reared by her late grandparents, Frank and Mary Ann Strong. She was a graduate of East Depot High School and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was employed as a cab radio dispatcher in Ypsilanti and at Friendly Cab in LaGrange.
Survivors in addition to her mother, include two sisters, Charlie Mae Ector McLaughlin and JoAnne Ector Thomas; a brother, Jimmy and Mary Ann Ector, all of LaGrange; a niece, Jordan Ector; a great niece, Noliyanna Ector; two nephews, Nolan Christopher and Miles Ector; special friends, Carrie and Harvey Lee Davis; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Baptist Church at 250 Union St., with the Rev. W.T. Edmondson officiating Burial will be in Eastview cemetery.
The family will be at her home.
Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Richard D. Heard
Richard D. Heard, 39, died Saturday at Embracing Care Hospice.
Mr. Heard, born in Troup County, was the son of the late Lonnie G. and Margaret Heard. He was a member of Leete Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three brothers, Jessie Heard, Lonnie Heard Jr. and Antonia Heard, all of LaGrange; three sisters, Deborah Heard of Norcross and Jacqueline Heard and Lakisha Heard, both of LaGrange; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Confidence Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Stan Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of his aunt, Mary Tucker at 734 Ridley Ave.
West Georgia Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Janice Ussery Rush, 56, of LaGrange died this morning at Hospice LaGrange.
