Eric Mangrum
Eric Mangrum of New York died Friday in New York City.
Mr. Mangrum was the son of the late Nathananiel and Mary Lee Alford Mangrum. He was a graduate of Rice High School and attended Morgan State University in Baltimore. He was a member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in New York City where he was an usher and a member of the choir.
Survivors include a daughter Nyah Nikea Burwell of New York City; a loving and devoted grandmother, Arnetha Alford of LaGrange; a brother, Mortamer McRay, sisters, Marilyn Phoenix, Dorothy McRay, and Betty McRay, all of New York City, great - aunts, Mary Reese of Newnan, Martha Strong, Shirley Civers, Rosie Civers, and Virginia Copeland, all of LaGrange, Elizabeth Smith of Atlanta Becky Manigault of Moncks Corner, S.C., Mattie Simmion of North Carolina; a great uncle, Nelson Copeland of LaGrange; uncles, Joseph and Lounell Alford of Atlanta, Jerome and Lounell Alford, and Bruce and Rose Alford, all of LaGrange, Mitchell Mangrum of South Carolina, aunts, Elaine and Russell Dean of LaGrange, Lt. Col. Arnetha Shipman and Thomas Shipman of Tampa Fla., special friends, Yolanda Denton, Diane Mitchell, Lizette Burwell, and Erving Welch, all of New York City; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church on Bartley Road with the Rev. Ronnie Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at 32 Hogg Mountain Road.
Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Margie M Nichols
Mrs. Margie M. Nichols, 93, of LaGrange died Thursday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs, Nichols, born March 22, 1910, in Troup County, was the daughter of the late Willie E. and Ruby Mullins Cox. She was a homemaker and a member and former secretary of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister - in - law, Nona Cox of LaGrange; several nieces and nephews including, Gail Walsh, Earl Cox, Glenn Cox and Mike Cox, all of LaGrange, Sheryl Cox of Dallas, Texas, Bill Cox of Atlanta and Dale Cox of Washington, D.C.; several great - nieces and nephews including, Mark Ward and Regina Womble of LaGrange; and several great - great nieces and nephews.
Graveside memorial services will be in 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church cemetery with the Rev. Michael Johns officiating.
Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

C.S. Goode
C.S. Goode, 69, of 2479 Victory Road in Franklin, died Tuesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Community Church, Hwy. 34 West in Franklin. The Rev. Ruben M. Simpson will officiate and burial will be in Ebenezer Baptist Church cemetery in Franklin.
Thrash and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Cecil R. Owings
Cecil R. Owings, 60, of Hogansville, died Wednesday a the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala.
Mr. Owings, born May, 18, 1942, in Sylacauga, Ala., was an Army veteran and had lived in Hogansville since 1965. He retired as department manager at Uniroyal, Inc. after 30 years and had attended Courts of Praise Church in LaGrange.
Survivors include two sons and daughters - in - law, Tim and Stephanie Owings of Huntsville, Ala., and Jeff and Annette Owings of Warner Robins; his mother, Annie Bishop of Sylacauga, Ala., a sister, Janice Coffey of Moulton, Ala.; five brothers, Wayne Owings and Jack Owings, both of Birmingham, Bobby Owings of Phenix City, Ala., Billy Owings of Murphreesboro, Tenn., and Calvin Owings of Sylacauga; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will b at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Claude a. McKibben and sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7 until 9.

Funeral services for Gerald E. Reeves, 74, of Sharpsburg will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church cemetery in Meriwether County.

Lecinda Darby Kersh
Lecinda Darby Kersh, 40, of LaGrange, formerly of Stone Mountain, died Thursday.
Survivors include her parents, James “Junior” and Mary Abercrombie Darby of Monroe; two sons, Zack Kersh and Brett Kersh of LaGrange; three sisters, Brenda and Scott Duren of Monroe, Linda Reaves of Loganville, and Glenda Magouirk of Phoenix, Ariz.; nieces and nephews, Shon and Donna Duren of Atlanta; Brittany Reaves of Loganville, and Nathan Magouirk of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Wages and Sons Chapel in Stone Mountain with the Rev. Mike Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may make memorial contributions to West Georgia Health System Auxillary in memory of Lecinda Kersh Memorial Fund, 1514 Vernon Rd. LaGrange, Ga. 30240.
The family will receive friends this evening at Wages and Sons Stone Mountain Chapel from 6 to 9 p.m.

Ralph Edsel Love
Ralph Edsel Love, 75, of 102 Ridgefield Drive died Tuesday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Love, born Jan. 11, 1928, in Trafford, Ala., was the son of the late Caney Melford and Susie Lake Love. He was a Army veteran having served with the Corps of Engineers and retired as an electrical engineering supervisor from Westinghouse. He was a member of Pine View Baptist Church where he was a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Love of LaGrange; a son and daughter - in - law, Jerry W. and Deborah R. Love of Seminole, Fla.; a daughter and son - in - law, Shirley and David B. Smith of Pine Mountain; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Connie H. and Larry Bittner of LaGrange and Robbie H. and Randy Blanks of Hogansville; a stepson and his wife, Alan and Vicki Herbert of Germantown, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Noelle Love Nastari of Pennsylvania, Ginger R. Love of Seminole Fla., and Brooke Smith of Pine Mountain; two brothers and a sister - in - law, Harry Love and William R. and Nola Love; two sisters and a brother - in - law, Sybil Tharp and Emma and Fred Appenzeller. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille M. Love, a daughter, Sharon Diane Love and a sister, Eva Smith.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand chapel with the Rev. Jerome Hicks officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Birmingham, Ala.
The family will receive friends this evening at the funeral home from 7 until 9.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Love.

Richard Lee Barnes
Richard Lee Barnes, 73, of LaGrange died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Barnes, born June, 18, 1929, in LaGrange was the son of the late James Otis and Ethel Lee Shirey Barnes. He retired from the Live Oak Plant of Milliken and Company after 35 years and was a member the Callaway 25 Year Club. An avid hunter, he was a member of the Troup County Sportsman’s Club and the National Rifle Association, He was a member the 20 Gallon Club of the American Red Cross and Hillcrest United Methodist Church. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 54 years, Vernell Clark Barnes; two daughters and a son - in - law, Nelda Walden and Cindy and Pat Morgan; a daughter - in - law and her husband, Pat and Roger Cummings, a sister and brother - in - law, Ruby and Eiland Lipham; three brothers and four sisters - in - law, Johnny and Barbara Barnes, Herbert and Lavelle Barnes, Larry Barnes, Ellaweese Barnes and Marie Barnes; eight grandchildren, Tammy Gooch, Christie Sigmin, Wendy Walden, Cassie Adkins, Tangee Lindsey, Tonya Cummings, Brittany “B.J.” Walden and Parks Morgan; six great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son who was a Vietnam War casualty, Sgt. Tommy Barnes.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2003, in the chapel of Striffler - Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Rebecca Mac Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to Hillcrest United Methodist Church, c/o Rev. Rebecca MacArthur, 4893 New Frankin Road, Hogansville, Ga. 30230, in memory of Mr. Barnes.

Warren S. Jenefsky
Warren S. Jenefsky, 71 of Davie, Fla. died Sunday, April 27, 2003.
Mr. Jenefsky was a graduate of Parker Vocational High School and Sinclair College, both in Dayton, Ohio. He was the former owner of Continental Trailers in Hialeah, Fla., and a sales representative for Langer Krell Marine Electronics.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Jenefsky; two children, Michael Sue Jenefsky and Robert Jenefsky; grandchildren, Kristina (Tim) Reeves and Kenny Smith; a great - grandchild, Drake Walker Reeves; a sister, Sally Rosenbaum; his mother - in - law, Gladys Goodman; and a brother - in - law, Gary (Annette) Goodman. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Mark Joseph Lupton.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Beth David Memorial Gardens, 3201 N.W., 72nd Ave. in Hollywood, Fla.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 420 N.W., 33rd Ave., Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., 33009 or the American Cancer Society.

Jessie Lee Cameron
Jessie Lee “Bro” Cameron, 72, of 809 South Fling Road died Saturday at his home.
Mr. Cameron, born May 27, 1930, in Meriwether County, was the son of the late C. L. and Everlena Collins Cameron. He retired after 44 years with CSX Railroad and was a member of Wehadkee Baptist Church.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Christine Cameron; two loving daughters, Brenda Tigner and Delois Cameron, all of LaGrange; a loving son, Charles and Angela Cameron of Elkridge, Md., five grandchildren, Tara Reed, Chiquitta Avery, Joseph Tigner, Demario Cameron, all of LaGrange and Jaycee Christine Cameron of Elkridge, Md.; three great - grandchildren, Delveckeo Tywaknequa and Dontavious Reed, all of LaGrange; three sisters, Amanda McFerson, Rosetta and Tommy Cox, and LeAnna and Bobby Sheppard; two brothers, Willie and Elizabeth Cameron and Roosevelt and Bertha Cameron, all of LaGrange; a very special loving and devoted sister - in - law, Mary Jean Delaney; a special friend, Shannon Davis; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Warren Temple United Methodist Church at 416 East Depot St., with the Rev. Gary Fanning officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at his home.

Jim Bryant
Chester “Jim” Bryant, 93, of Grantville died Tuesday at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.
Mr. Bryant, born July 21, 1909, in Haralson County, was the son of Walter and Ida Vivian Couch Bryant. He had lived in Coweta County since 1912, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Grantville and was a lifetime member of Bingham Lodge #53 Free and Accepted Masons in Moreland. He retired from Grantville Mills and with his brother operated Bryant Brothers Hardware in Grantville and later Bryant Nursery.
Survivors include a daughter and son - in - law, Vivian and Charles Lee of LaGrange; two sons and daughters - in - law, Chet and Brenda Bryant of Dunwoody and James and Elizabeth Bryant of Waco, Texas; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great - grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Gill Bryant and a son, Lewis G. “Buddy” Bryant.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville with the Rev. Ellis Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
