Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn McCullough, 72, of Sharpsburg, will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Burial will be in Sharpsburg Baptist Church Cemetery.

Frank Cook, 89, of 331 Park Hill Drive died Wednesday at his home.

Henton Veal
Funeral services for Henton “Sam” Veal, 84, of Roanoke, Ala., who died Tuesday at his home, will be Thursday at Quattlebaum Funeral Home with the Rev. Stoney Halsey officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memory Gardens.
Mr. Veal, born March 16, 1919, in Randolph County, was the son of the late Luther S. and Minnie Pearl Brown Veal. He was an insurance salesman with Independent Life and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in LaGrange.
Survivors included his wife, Myrtice Christine Scott Veal of Roanoke, Ala.; a son Ricky Veal of Roanoke; three sisters, Betty Miller of Brilliant, Elizabeth Lowery and Florence Chase, both of Roanoke; two brothers, Luther Veal Jr. and Cary Veal, both of Roanoke; 10 grandchildren and 15 great - grandchildren. HE was preceded in death by two sons, Arnold Ray Veal and Julian Veal; three brothers, Monroe Veal, Hubert Veal and John Willie Veal; three sisters, Lilla Thompson, Bobbie Hawkins and Nina Lucille Thompkins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 until 9.

Mrs. Faye Whitley
Mrs. Faye Richardson Whitley, 72, of Princeton, Ala., formerly of Cedartown and Rockmart, died Monday at her home.
Mrs. Whitley, born Jan. 22, 1931, in Hogansville, was the daughter of the late Dove and Mattie Oliver Richardson. She was a graduate of Indian River Community College and St. Leo’s College and was a retired public health nurse. She had lived in Princeton two years and attended Princeton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas G. Whitley Sr. of Princeton; a daughter and son - in - law, Alana and Dwight Todd of Hogansville; two sons and a daughter - in - law, Thomas Jr. and Tracy Whitley of Memphis, Tenn., and Drew Whitley of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Sandra Williams of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepson and his wife, Buddy and Linda Whitley of LaGrange; two grandchildren, Beth Todd and Dale and Jessica Todd; a great - grandchild, Autumn Todd; and four step grandchildren, Whit Abel, Haley Abel, Tyson Whitley and Leslie Battle. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dale Hackney.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville with the Rev. Larry Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 until 9.

Clarence E. Hogg Jr.
Clarence E. “Sonny” Hogg Jr. 63, of Lanett, Ala., died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Hogg, born June 19, 1939, in Chambers County, Ala., was the son of the late Clarence E. Sr. and Lavada Winston Hogg. He was a graduate of Five Points High School and Alabama State University where he received a bachelors degree in elementary education. He retired as a teacher and coach from the Harris County Board of Education for 39 years and was currently employed with the West Point Parks and Recreation Department. He was a member of the Alabama/Georgia High School Basketball Officials Association. He was a member of the Deacon Board, Finance Committee, Male Chorus, chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee and Adult Sunday School Teacher at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and was an avid hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. Hogg of Lanett; four children and their spouses, Yolanda Hoggs of Lanett, Cheryl and the Rev. Michael Stiggers of West Point, the Rev. Edward and Sybil Hoggs of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Debbie Hoggs Springer of Lithonia; four stepchildren, Pamela McFarlin and Phillip and Robin Andrews, all of LaGrange, Christopher McFarlin of Lanett, Tamika and Albert Jackson of Stockbridge; a brother and sister - in - law, John and Annie Hoggs of West Point; two sisters and a brother - in - law, Mattie and Charles Wilson of Carrollton and Carolyn Louise Ferrell of Valley, Ala.; his mother - in - law, Ruby Clark of LaGrange; a sister - in - law, Julia Hoggs of Lanett; two brothers - in - law, Herman and Wanda Jones of Columbus and Donald and Jean Jones of College Park; two aunts, Laura Banks of Louisville, Ky. and Jennie Mae Johnson of Lanett; 16 grandchildren, four great - grandchildren; a special hunting friends, Walter McGuire and Homer Brooks; an other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the West Point Recreation Gymnasium with the Revs. Douglas Larkin, Walter Darden, O.C. Stiggers, McClinton Hall Jr. and J.D. Darden officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Baptist Church cemetery. The body will be at the gym one hour prior to the service.
M. W. Lee Mortuary in West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Alma M. Richardson
Mrs. Alma Mae Richardson, 82, of Hogansville, died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Richardson, born Dec. 8, 1920, in Carroll County, was the daughter of the late Newman Grady and Addie Sue South Mitchell. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters Margie Richardson and Janice Richardson, both of Hogansville; a son, Grady Richardson, all of Hogansville; two sisters, Inez Hubbard and Jeanette Henderson; and two brothers, Cecil Mitchell and Jr. Mitchell, all of Bowdon. She was preceded in death by her husband R.G. Richardson and a son, Jimmy Ray Richardson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sardis Baptist Church with the Revs. Darnell Teal, W.T. Bates and Charles Chapman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Billy Sturdivant
William (Billy) Sturdivant, 59, of Jonesboro, formerly of LaGrange died Saturday in Fayetteville.
Mr. Sturdivant, born Feb. 6, 1944, in LaGrange, was the son of the late Clarence Paschal and Margaret Bartley Sturdivant. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and had retired from Delta Airlines.
Survivors include two sons and daughters - in - law, Chad and Kim Sturdivant and Chris and Kym Sturdivant; a granddaughter, Taylor Morgan Sturdivant, all of Fayetteville; four sisters and a brother - in - law, Jane Bales and Nelle Sturdivant, both of LaGrange, Claire Raiford of Jonesboro, Emily and Carter Marchant of Columbus; a sister - in - law, Margie Sturdivant of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Sturdivant.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand Chapel with Pastor Wayne Turner officiating. Burial will be in Union Baptist Church cemetery at Jones Crossroads.
The family will be at 2188 Hamilton Road and will receive friends this evening at the funeral home from 6 until 9.

Hugh W. Miller
Hugh W. Miller, 70, of Hogansville died Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Miller, born Dec. 18, 1932, in Hogansville, was the son of the late Orby and Naomi Medley Miller. He had lived Hogansville most of his life and retired fter 20 years as a chief petty officer in the Navy, a having served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Jean S. Miller of Hogansville, a daughter and son - in - law, Catherine and John Holmes of LaGrange; a son and daughter - in - law, , Charles and Donna Miller of Clarksville, Tenn.; four sisters, Lois Cottingham of Opelika, Ala., Joyce Wood of Dothan, Ala., Juany Sue Burnham of Hogansville and Connie Rautis of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two brothers, Leon Miller of Monroe, La., and Orby L. Miller Jr. of Shelbyville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Jack Holmes, Will Holmes, Jillianne Winters and Caroline Winters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville with Dr. Jerry Cross and the Rev. Harold Willis officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening at the funeral home from 7 until 9.

Patricia H. Perry
Mrs. Patricia Hamilton Perry, 53, of Hogansville, died Sunday at her home.
Mrs. Perry born Nov., 15, 1949, in Charlotte, N.C. was the daughter of Judy Hamilton Birkhead of Charlotte and the late William W.. Hamilton. Before failing health, she was employed by the Troup County Board of Education as a teacher’s aide, working with the hearing impaired.
Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband, Jonathan Lee Perry; two sons, Jonathan Beau Perry and Jason Scott Perry; a daughter, Laura Anne Perry, all of Hogansville; a brother, Robert Hamilton; a sister and brother - in - law, Beth and Art Capper, all of Charlotte, N.C.; two uncles, Stewart Anthony and G. Harvey Hamilton; an aunt, Catherine Cooke; three nephews, Timothy Walters, Chris Hamilton, and David Capper; a niece, Leslie Ann Capper; her father - in - law and mother - in - law, Jackson and Lee P. Perry of Chandler, Ariz.; three sisters - in - law, Susan Goehring and Linda Perry, both of Lodi, Calif., and Robin Cowan of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and a brother - in - law, David Perry of Chandler, Ariz. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Stewart Hamilton.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange with the Rev. Brandon Brooks officiating.

Arthur James Kelly
Arthur James (Ball) Kelly, 39, of 210 1/2 Bell St., died Thursday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Kelly, born Sept. 2, 1963, was a native of Junction City, and the son of the late Fred and Cora Kelly. He was employed at the Dunson Mill Division of West Point Stevens. He enjoyed rebuilding Chevrolet automobiles.
Survivors include four children, Shanekia Hudson, Shatavia Harris, Felicia Kelly and Shawn Kelly: two grandchildren, Sacora Hudson and Deveyon Kelly; his companion, Pam Boyd; his biological father, John Henry Couch Sr. and his wife, Louise of Junction City; five brothers, Fred Kelly Jr. and Billy Kelly, both of LaGrange; John Henry Jr. and Thelma Couch, Lorenzo and Barbara Couch, and Harrison and Virginia Couch, all of Junction City; five sisters, Ollie Davenport, Mary J. Ogletree, and Bernice Kelly, all of LaGrange, and Mittie and Joe Jones and Barbara and Ronnie Snellings of Junction City; two uncles, Willie B. Kelly and Jimmy Lee Kelly of Juniper; and 14 nephews, 12 nieces, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mack Kelly
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at New Beginnings Baptist Church on Ware Street with the Rev. William E. Harris officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at his home.
Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
