Mrs. Susie Hill
Mrs. Susie Hill, 84, of 201 Niles St. died Saturday at her home.
Mrs. Hill. a native of Troup County, was the daughter of the late Fuller and Annie Lou Watson Rogers. She was Baptist.
Survivors include a nephew and his wife, Larry and Ethel Rogers; a great niece, Kiayana Rogers; and several other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie James Hill.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, in the West Georgia Mortuary chapel with the Rev. T. Holt officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at her home.

Phenix City, Chapel
Ida Mae Soper
Ida Mae Soper, 91, of 298 Wares Cross Roads died Tuesday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Soper, born July 31, 1911, in Chattanooga Tenn., was the daughter of Henry and Sally McCormick Perrin. She was a retired knitter and a member of Green Pond Baptist Church in Soddy, Tenn.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Striffler Hamby Mortuary in Phenix City, Ala., with the Rev. David Hill and the Rev. R.C. Prescott officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
The family will be at 1702 28th Ave., in Phenix City, Ala., and will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
Survivors include two daughters, Lorraine Sanders of LaGrange and Ida Ruth Stewart of San Angelo, Texas; a son, Billy Davis of Phenix City, Ala., 10 grandchildren, 25 great - grandchildren, 41 great - great - grandchildren, 17 great - great - great - grandchildren and a great - great - great - great - grandchild.

Mrs. Carrie J. Woods
Mrs. Carrie J. Woods, 90, of 604 Jenkins St., died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Survivors include six sons, Jessie Lee Woods of Pine Mountain, Willie Woods Jr. (Betty), John Walter Woods (Gladys), Charles Lee Woods (Eunice), Addis Lee Woods (Margie), and Bedell Woods (Susie), all of LaGrange; three daughters, Mollie Lovett, Nadine Render of LaGrange, Gladys Gunn (Marshall) of Whitesville; and a sister, Bessie Johnson of Jersey City. N.J. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Woods.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Roe’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
The family will be at their home.
Hamilton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Sue K. Whatley
Mrs. Sue Kirk Whatley, 93, of LaGrange, died June 23, at Traylors Nursing Home in Roanoke, Ala.
Mrs. Whatley, born May 21, 1910 in Heard County, was the daughter of the late Wiley Hamilton Kirk and Martha Pope Kirk. She had lived her for more than 18 years and had taught school for several years in Heard County.
After moving to LaGrange, Mrs. Whatley worked as a bookkeeper for the LaGrange Daily News for 32 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in LaGrange and the Lydia Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her nephews, Morris Kirk of Franklin, Billy Kirk of Newnan, J. Brown Kitchens of Atlanta, and Jack Kirk of Franklin; nieces, Joyce Kirk Cotton of Franklin and Alma Jane Kirk Thompson of Newnan; and several great - nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26 in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand Chapel with Dr. Paul Baxter officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery in Heard County.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Susie Hill
Mrs. Susie Hill, 84, of 201 Niles St. died Saturday, June 21, 2003.
Mrs. Hill. a native of Troup County. was the daughter of the late Fuller and Annie Lou Watson Rogers and the wife of the late Willie James Hill. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Boyd and Mrs. Ruby Carey, both of Detroit, Mich.; three nephews, Larry Rogers and Fuller Rogers III, both of LaGrange and Jimmy Rogers of Minneapolis, Minnesota; six nieces, Mrs. Janet Nelson, Mrs. Debra Estes and Mrs. Melissa Pittman, all of LaGrange, Mrs. Susan Carmichael of Atlanta, Mrs. Akua Watkins of Detroit, and Mrs. Sylvia Brooks of Augusta; and several other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 27 in the West Georgia Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. T. Holt officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at her home.
West Georgia Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Thomas Lipp
Thomas Lipp, 75, of Pine Mountain Valley, died Monday, June 23, 2003 at his home.
Mr. Lipp, born December 18, 1927, in LaGrange, was the son of John F. and Mary Woods Lipp. He was a self - employed brick mason for 41 years and a member of the Community Chapel Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine R. Lipp of Pine Mountain Valley; a son and daughter - in - law, Rick and Mary Ann Lipp of Pine Mountain Valley; two daughters and a son - in - law, Cindy and Mike Sizemore of Ellerslie and Carole and Gary Donahue of Columbus; two sisters, Myrtle Noles of LaGrange and Joann Smith of Manchester; seven grandchildren; nine great - grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Lipp will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003 at the Community Chapel Church, Pine Mountain Valley. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Hazel Riddle
Mrs. Hazel “Jo” Riddle completed her journey on earth June 19, 2003, following a brave battle with cancer.
Mrs. Riddle was born on March 3, 1925 in Pleasanton, Kan. She married Donald L. Riddle on July 12, 1942, and spent most of her married life in Monona, Wis. Jo has lived for the past 17 years in Okeechobee, Fla., and most recently in Chilton, Wis. Jo worked as a seamstress at Klinke’s Cleaners and always loved sewing and crocheting.
Survivors include her three children, Denise (Rich) Stoker of Chilton, Wis., Dennis (Fay) Riddle of LaGrange, and Donna (Bob) Maly of Beaver Dam, Wis.; grandchildren, Lauren Riddle, Jeffrey (Norma) Maly. and Jennifer (Gregg) Kandutsch; two great - granddaughters, Madison Kandutsch and Haley Matson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Riddle.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at Gunderson Funeral Home in Madison, Wis. Visitation is scheduled from noon until the time of the service.

Mrs. Mary K. Smith
Mary K. Smith, 73, of the Lone Oak Community in Meriwether County, died this morning.
Mrs. Smith, born July 7, 1929, in Madison County, N.C., was the daugther of the late John and Allie Maynard McClellan. She was retired from Rainbow Plastics in Grantville and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hot Springs, N.C., and attended Allen - Lee Memorial United Methodist Church in Lone Oak. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Smith and a daughter, Judy Smith Rainey.
Survivors include a daughter, Miss Nancy J. Smith, a son, Arthur W. Smith Jr., both of Lone Oak; a sister, Mrs. Jenny Morris of Mauldin, S.C.; four grandchildren, Lisa McWhorter, Chris McWhorter, Maria Campbell, and Michael Rainey, all of Hogansville; and five great - grandchildren, Casey McWhorter, Sidney Smith, Andrew Campbell, Jacob Campbell, and Christopher McWhorter Jr.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25 in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Allen - Lee Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

John D. Allison
John D. Allison, 81, of the St. Marks Community of Meriwether County, died Friday at Alvista Healthcare in Greenville.
Mr. Allison, born April 19, 1922, in Meriwether County, was the son of the late Tim and Mattie Belle May Allison. He was a retired guard from the Meriwether County Correction Institute in Greenville.
Mr. Allison was a member of Union Baptist Church in St. Marks and was a member of the Peace Officers Association of Georgia.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Opal Allison of St.. Marks; a sister and brother - in - law, Thelma and J.W. (Buddy) Ledford of Hogansville; and a nephew, Tim and Angie Ledford of Hogansville.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2003 in the Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Hogansville. The Revs. Searcy Jackson and Bob Harris will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be to the Union Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Allison.
The family will receive friends this afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Claude A.. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

Jack Wayne Yates
Jack Wayne Yates, 56, of LaGrange died Tuesday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Yates, born Jan. 15, 1947, in Miami, Fla., was the son of Mary Estelle Yates of LaGrange and the late Heulette Clyde Yates. He was a 1965 graduate of Troup High School and a 1967 graduate of Troup Tech. He had been an auto service technician at Fling Ford and Cotton’s Collision. He attended Calvary Full Gospel Church in LaGrange.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a sister and brother - in - law, Lorraine and James Bailey of LaGrange; a nephew, John and Renea Bailey of Hogansville; three great nephews, Greg, Michael and Randy Bailey all of Hogansville; several aunts, uncles, cousins and several special friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Carl Knowles officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at his home and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 until 8.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to Hospice LaGrange in memory of Mr. Yates.
