Robert Buchanan Sr.
Robert C. Buchanan, Sr. 83, of Vernon Woods Apt. 114 died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Buchanan, born Oct. 7, 1919, in Columbus, was the son of the late Albert Eugene and Lausie Lloyd Crouch Buchanan. He had lived here most of his life . He was a graduate of the University of Alabama, was a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corps and a veteran of World War II. He served on the LaGrange City Council from 1969 - 1970. He retired as a cost accountant from Callaway Mills Company and held a number of management positions with Milliken & Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square where he was chairman of the Board of Deacons, project coordinator for many expansion projects for the church, a member of the finance and personnel committees, a member of the Williams Pilot Sunday School Class, a volunteer in the church Meals - on - Wheels program and a member of Merrymakers. He was a volunteer at LaGrange Academy, a member and past president of the Lion's Club and attended the Troup County Senior Center two days weekly.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sue H. Buchanan; a daughter, Susan B. King of Kennessaw; a son and daughter - in - law, Robert C. Jr. and Joyce S. Buchanan; four grandchildren and spouses, Kandice King of Kennessaw, Holly B. Barber, Michael and Misty King and Leigh B. and Charles Smith, all of LaGrange; a great - granddaughter, Anna Katherine King of LaGrange; a sister, Agnes Clark of Nashville, Tenn., a sister - in - law, Lois Wood of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church on the Square with Dr. Paul R. Baxter officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his son and daughter - in - law, Robert C. Jr. and Joyce Buchanan, at 70 Grayson Trail and will receive friends this evening at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home from 6 until 8.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church on the Square.

Jason Sizemore
Jason Sizemore, 31, of 1045 County Road 525, Five Points, Ala., died May 30, 2003 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital, Valley, Ala.
Mr. Sizemore was born March 13, 1972, in Lee County, Ala., the son of Bonnie Smith of LaGrange and the late Allen Keith 'Ace' Catlin. He was formerly employed as an aviation mechanic and bail bondsman and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Christopher Jason Sizemore of LaGrange; stepfather Allen Smith of LaGrange; two stepbrothers, Jeremy Smith and Ethan Smith, both of LaGrange; three aunts and their husbands, Nancy and Tommy Hartman of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Tawana and J.J. Shateau of Charlotte, N.C.; Pam and Ronnie Flournoy of Opelika, Ala.; cousins Corder Hartman of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Olivier Shateau of Charlotte, N.C.; and the mother of his son, Lorena Travon of LaGrange.
A private memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. June 2, 2003 at The Bus, 1045 County Road 525, Five Points, Ala.
The family will be at 209 Chesterfield Place, LaGrange and will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Willie M. Terrell
Mrs. Willie Mae Terrell, of 297 Mary Johnson Road in Franklin passed away at the West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Heard was a member of the Bethel Heard Baptist Church.
Her survivors include her husband, Charlie Terrell Jr. of Franklin; daughters, Delphine and Adriel Vaughn of Newnan, Angela Crowe of Franklin and Veronica Strickland of LaGrange; mother, Mrs. Charlie Mae Bonner of Franklin; grandchildren, Antonio, Anthony, Adriel, Brionna, Durrell, Ashayla and Cortez; sisters, Fannie and Jessie Brown, Judy and Tyrone Wilkerson, all of Franklin; Arica Carter of Newnan, Pauline Nesby and Freddie Paul, both of Atlanta; brothers, Curtis and Louise Bonner; Dwight Bonner, James Bonner, all of Franklin, and Charles Bonner of Atlanta, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Lee Bonner Sr. and brother, Andrew Lee Bonner Jr.
Funeral services for Mrs. Terrell will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Mt. Zion Community Church on Highway 34 in Franklin. The Rev. Rueben Simpson will officiate with burial in the Bethel Heard Baptist Church cemetery at 2484 Charlie B. Johnson Road.
The family will be at the residence of her sister, Judy and Tyrone Wilkerson, at 9296 Highway 34 West.
The Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ryan Rhodes
Ryan Rhodes, 52, of 976 Lower Glass Bridge Road died Friday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Rhodes, born March 20, 1951, in Columbia, N.C., was the son of Anna Rhodes Williamson of Carrollton and the late Royce Leslie Rhodes. He had lived here since 1995 and had been employed by Douglas and Lomason as human resource manager and was the winner of numerous business awards. He was formerly employed by Templewood Products in Temple as general manager. He was Baptist.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Joainne Rhodes of LaGrange; a son, Nicholas Ryan Rhodes of Carrollton, two daughters, Jesica Rhodes Goodwin and Shawn Marie Rhodes, both of Waco; three stepchildren and their spouses, Adam and Nancy Glover of LaGrange, Wess and Laci Glover, and Aaron Glover, all of Bloomington, Ill.; five grandchildren, Collen Glover and Camron Glover, both of Bloomington, Ill., Corey Glover and Justin Glover, both of LaGrange; and Ansley Goodwin of Waco; two brothers, Al and Joy Rhodes of Elizabeth City N.C., and Brad and Mali Rhodes of Hampton, Va.; half brother and his wife, Raymond and Pam Seagroves of Carrollton; half sister. Rebecca Harris of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; stepfather, Charlie Williamson; stepsister and her husband, Victoria and Larry Morton of Maysville; mother - in - law, Virginia Cottrell of Stanford, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Rebecca Rhodes and a stepbrother, Serge Spotanski.
Memorial services will be Monday at 5 p.m. in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand chapel with the Rev. Robert 'Bo' Hendon officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday afternoon from 3 until 5.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Foundation.

Wilson Butler
Wilson (Slim) Butler, 84, of LaGrange died Friday at Hospice LaGrange.
Born Feb. 6, 1919, in Randolph County, Ala., Mr. Butler was the son of the late Tom and Emily Williams Butler. HE was an Army veteran of world war II, had lived here for fifty years and retires as a mechanic from Hart and Burgess Company. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Butler of LaGrange; a daughter, Myra Hutter of Charleston, S.C., five sons, Lawrence Butler of Las Vegas Nev., Richard Butler of Savannah, Spencer butler, Lowell Butler and Jimmy Butler, all of LaGrange; a stepson, Vestal Thomas of LaGrange; a sister, Oren Wysner of Bowdon; a brother, Doford Butler of Ashland, Ala.; 22 grandchildren 28 grandchildren and a step - granddaughter.
Funeral cervices will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Friendship Baptist Church in LaGrange with the Revs. James Moon and Jody Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 this evening at the Claude a. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

John W. Rutledge
John W. Rutledge, 76, of 202 Ware St., in Hogansville died Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Ike and Minnie L. Moody Rutledge.
Survivors include 12 children and their spouses, Carol and David Hopson of Atlanta, Jeanette Rutledge of Hogansville, Katie Darden Vickie Rutledge, Janice and Charlie Sanders, Peggy N. Rutledge, John Jr. and Carolyn Rutledge, David and Glenda Rutledge, Daisy Rutledge, Beverly Rutledge, Billy Rutledge and Regina and Jimmie Dukes; nine brothers and sisters and their spouses, Elizabeth Person, Katie Bell Rutledge, and Milton and Delores Rutledge, all of Decatur, Willie M. Hopson, and Betty and Lewis Tigner, all of Hogansville, Thelma Rutledge and Annie and James Hall, all of LaGrange, Mandy Heard of Grantville and Isaac Rutledge of Newnan; 26 grandchildren and 11 great - grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy R. Cameron Rutledge.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Hogansville with the Rev. Joseph McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
Thrash and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville is in charge of the arrangements.

Ray Garcia Evans
ray Garcia Evans, 48, of 216 Salem Farm Road in Pine Mountain died Tuesday at Florence Hand Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St.. Mary’s Road United Methodist Church in Columbus with the Rev. Steven Jones officiating. Burial will be in Green Acres cemetery in Columbus.
The family will receive friend today from noon until 6 p.m. at Progressive Funeral Home.

Barbara Stewart
Mrs. Barbara Grantham Stewart, 74, of Smithfield, N.C., died Monday.
Mrs. Stewart was a native of Morehead City, N.C., and was a daughter of the late Frank and Gladys Lewis Grantham. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and a life member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd W. Stewart; one son and daughter - in - law, Jeff and Carol Stewart of LaGrange; two daughters and sons - in - law, Julie and Ray Hall of Smithfield, N.C., and Susan and Joey Allen of Wilson, N.C.; six grandchildren including Emily Stewart, Grant Stewart and Rob Stewart, all of LaGrange; and a great - grandchild.
Funeral services were Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church with burial in Sunset Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to The Memorial Fund of Centenary United Methodist Church, 140 East Market Street, Smithfield, N.C., 27577, or to a charity of choice in memory of Mrs. Stewart.
Underwood Funeral Home in Smithfield, N.C. was in charge of arrangements.

Bernice C. Cummings
Bernice C. Cummings, 90, of LaGrange died Tuesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Cummings, born May 10, 1913, in Heard County, was the daughter of the late Robert Elton and Rossie Tillman Bennett Cook. She had lived here most of her life and was employed at the Calumet Plant of Callaway Mills Company.
Survivors include a son, Sonny Cummings, of LaGrange; a son - in - law, W. T. Lewis of Woodland Ala., four grandchildren, Wanda Crowe of Pine Mountain, Tommy Lewis of Woodland, Ala., Patti Sweet of Collierville, Tenn., and Keith Lewis of Graham, Ala.: 10 great - grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd H. Cummings Sr. and a daughter, Robbie J. Cummings Lewis.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand chapel with the Rev. Floyd Tenney officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 until 8.

Charlie Frank Traylor
Charlie Frank Traylor, 79, of the Brian Center died Monday at Kindred Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Traylor, born March 24, 1924, in Standing Rock, Ala., was the son of the late Morris and Nancy Traylor. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Cleveland Motors.
Survivors include his wife, Julia N. Traylor, two sons and a daughter - in - law, Johnny F. and Vanessa Traylor of LaGrange and William M. Traylor of Atlanta; two step children, Charles S. and Dischonda Thornton of East Point and Linda and Larry Gillespie of Nashville; two brothers, Virgil Traylor and Major Traylor, both of LaGrange; 12 grandchildren, 11 great - grandchildren; a close friend, May Rose Brooks of LaGrange nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Eastview cemetery with the Rev. J.R. Ware officiating.
The family will be at the home of his brother, Major Traylor, at 427 Merrywood Drive.
Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Erma Jean Scott
Mrs. Erma Jean Scott, 52, died May, 27, 2003, at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Scott, born June 19, 1950, in LaGrange was the daughter of the late Thomas Jay and Clara Mitchell Spradlin.
Survivors include three sons, Chris Scott of LaGrange, Andy Scott and Ken Scott of Hogansville; three sisters, Beverly Pike, Susan Folds and Betty Fogarty; a half - sister, Freddie Stephens; two brothers, Randy Spradlin and Curtis Spradlin, all of LaGrange; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Striffler - Hamby Mortuary with Pastor Chad Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hillview East Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
