Chris L. Comer
Chris L. Comer, age 61, of Locust Grove, Georgia died July 19, 2006. Mrs. Comer was born icon at Tyndall Army Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida, where her father was stationed during World War II. She was raised in Fairhope, Alabama, attended Auburn University, and graduated from Georgia State University, where she earned a BS in Criminal Law. She retired from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation after 30 years of service, working in various capacities. She loved her pets and had numerous hobbies and interests.
She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Comer of Locust Grove; daughters, Stacey W. (Jimmy) Skeen of Hampton, Susan E. Woods of Fayetteville; grandsons, Tyler Miller, Zachary Skeen; granddaughter, Mikayla Woods; father, Ralph Carl Kramer of Orlando, Florida; mother, Elaine K. Hanson of Fairhope, Alabama; sisters, Arla K. (Thomas) Kern of Fairhope, Alabama, and Robin H. (Larkin) Mason of Kennesaw.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PAWS Atlanta, 5287 Covington Hwy., Decatur, Georgia, 30035, Attention: Susan Thorburn, Business Manager. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Harris Ridley Oliver
Harris Ridley Oliver, age 75, of McDonough, Georgia died July 7, 2006. Mr. Oliver was born icon December 7, 1930 in Rockmart, the son of the late Sarah Kate McCurry and Lorenza Dow Oliver. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and retired from Delta Airlines with 38 plus years as a quality control inspector. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Rudene Oliver of McDonough; son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Debbie Oliver of McDon-ough; granddaughter, Brandy Oliver of McDonough; sisters, Elizabeth Blair of Palmetto, Claudine Simpson of McDonough, Ruth Ellen Carden of Union City, Evelyn Orr of Fayetteville; brothers, Hayward Oliver of Griffin, Kenneth Oliver of Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held July 10 at Avalon Church, with Pastor Richie Miller officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Milton T. Starr
Milton T. Starr, age 86, of McDonough, Georgia died July 8, 2006. Mr. Starr was born icon in Henry County, the son of Hilyer and Estelle Adamson Starr. He served our country with the U.S. Air Force during WWII as an airplane mechanic. He married icon his first wife Flora Foster in 1943 who died in 1974 and he later married icon Henrietta Bryans. He retired from Big Star Foods in McDonough as the produce manager. He loved to garden and sell his vegetables. He was a member of the Flippen United Methodist Church.
He is survived his daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Richard Lee of Duluth; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth C. and Sandy Starr of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Jason and Kimberly Lee of Lilburn, Tonya Lee of Suwanee, Melanie and Tim Hennessy of Birmingham, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Alston and Tyler Lee; sister, Mildred Evans of Morrow; wife, Henrietta Bryans Starr; and five stepchildren.
Services were held July 11 at Flippen United Methodist Church, with Dr. Richard Lee and Dr. Robert Brown officiating. Interment Flippen Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Larry Kuron Tate
Larry Kuron Tate, age 58, of Locust Grove, Georgia died July 8, 2006. Mr. Tate was born icon January 20, 1948 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, the son of the late Leonard Danile and Stella Lee Tate. He was owner/operator of Larry’s New and Used Tires in Jonesboro and Riverdale, was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, and loved antique cars and racing with his grandson Casey. He was preceded in death by his sister, Faye Arnold and a brother, Lewis Tate.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Ann Tate; daughters, Jessica Raquel Tate of McDonough, Sherri Ann Tate of Alaska, Carmella Dawn Martin of Alaska, Rhonda Michelle Spencer and her husband Ted of McDonough; grandchildren, Holly Paige Spencer of McDonough, Casey Kuron Tate of McDonough, Brittany Ann Martin of Alaska, Jacob Dylan Littrell of Alaska, Sarah Tatum Spencer of McDonough, Colby Scott Phillips of Alaska, Emily Dawn Martin of Alaska; siblings, Leon Tate and Lemmie and Sue Tate, all of Jackson, Linda and Howard Coursey of Eatonton, Lenelle and Percy Jean Shelton of St. Louis, Missouri, Kaye and David Wilson of Corning, Alaska, Lanny and Lafonda Frazier of Alpena, Alaska, Tim and Lorraine Allen of Covington, Lessie and Larry Shepard of Paragould, Alaska, Lisa and Al Albarado of Pierre Part, Louisiana, Ethel and John Colby of Baltimore, Maryland.
Services were held July 11 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Lewis officiating. Interment Corning, Alaska. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Rebecca Sanders Calland
Rebecca Sanders Calland, age 50, of Locust Grove, Georgia died July 9, 2006. Mrs. Calland was born icon September 13, 1955 in Rockdale County, the daughter of the late Mary Frances Tallent and Carlton Dover Sanders. She was a member of Elkins Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy R. Calland of Newnan; children, Jassen Pye of Wood-stock, Lynsi and Jeffrey Carreker of Locust Grove, Thomas Pye of Pike County; stepdaughters, Courtney Calland and Jessie Calland of Marietta; one sister; six brothers; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held July 11 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to Elkins Creek Baptist Church, 7504 Crest Hwy. Molena, Georgia, 30258. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jesse D. Hatcher
Jesse D. Hatcher, age 81, of McDonough died Monday, July 10, 2006. Mr. Hatcher was born icon in Malone, Florida, the son of the late James Jesse and Mahanie Hatcher. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, mission trips and serving at the church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Tasker Hatcher.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley (Paulette) Hatcher of Stockbridge, Kenneth (Diane) Hatcher of McDonough; step-grandchildren, Trea Pipkin, Adam Pipkin, Ron Lanier, Paul Lanier, Joshua Puckett; and step-great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Faith and Joseph Lanier.
Services were held July 13 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Dr. Robert Marsh officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of McDonough Building Fund, 101 Macon Street, McDonough, Georgia, 30253. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Mike Davis
Mike Davis, age 27, of Hampton, Georgia died July 10, 2006. Mr. Davis was born icon in Austell. He was a man full of life who enjoyed working out, taking care of his health and fishing as a pastime. But most important to him was family and friends. He was loyal to all that he called friend and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his parents, Hugh (Dave) and Pat Davis, Jr.; brother, Matt (Amber) Davis; and sister, Haley Davis, all of McDonough; grandparents, Hugh and Sarah Davis of Red Oak, Annilee Saylors of Riverdale, Bobbie Green of Douglasville; niece and nephew, Payton and Anden Davis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Services were held July 13 at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Michael Tinney officiating. Interment Sherwood Memorial Park. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Paul Felton Loggins
Paul Felton Loggins, age 77, of Stockbridge, Georga died July 12, 2006. Mr. Loggins was born icon in Atlanta, the son of the late Paul Monroe and Nettie Bell Lingerfelt Loggins. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and formerly a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was very active in the Sunday School Ministry and in charge of the Baptistry. He retired from Georgia Power Company. Most important to him was his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Nora L. Loggins; son and daughter-in-law, Felton Wayne and Mary Loggins, all of Stockbridge; and granddaughter, Kristin Loggins of Athens.
Services were held July 15 at Eastside Baptist Church with, Pastor Al Hagan officiating. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

William A. Upchurch
William A. Upchurch, age 92, of McDonough, Georgia died June 21, 2006. Mr. Upchurch was born icon in Locust Grove, the son of the late Edgar Lee and Nannie Anna Speir Upchurch. He served in the U.S. Navy on the Halloran during WWII and enjoyed soapbox derby racing. Before his retirement he worked at Publix supermarket for 9 years. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Peppers Upchurch; brothers, Dois and Joseph Upchurch; sister, Margaret Sands; and half-brother, Zeb Speir.
He is survived by his sons, Tony "Chuck" (Debbie) Upchurch and Matthew Upchurch, all of McDonough; daughter, Letha Laverne Upchurch Howington of McDonough; sister, Mae Jewell Upchurch Hardin of Milner; step- daughters, Sandra Lee Tritt of Woodstock; Shelia Lee Langley of White; brother, Otis (Purnie) Upchurch of Locust Grove; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held June 23 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Mike Farmer officiating. Interment Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
