TRENTON, Ga. - Haston Joyel Hibbs of Rising Fawn, Ga., died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at his residence. He was 74.
Services will be at today at 2 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. David Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
Fred Hicks
RINGGOLD, Ga. - Fred Hicks died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 87.
A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, he was formerly employed as a security guard with the Babb Lumber Co. He attended the Indian Springs Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, Freddie M. Hicks, Philadelphia, Miss., and Kenneth M. Hicks, Rossville, Ga.; three daughters, Virginia Jo Cavin and Charlene Masters, both of Ringgold, and Billie Jean Kincer, Rossville, Ga.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., with the Rev. Ken Paul and the Rev. Jackie Swanson officiating.
Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends today from noon to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Paul Hughes
LaFAYETTE, Ga. - Paul Eugene Hughes died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998. He was 49.
A native of Walker County, Ga., he was a lifelong resident of the LaFayette area and was a member of Community Baptist Church in LaFayette.
Survivors include his brother, Jimmy Hughes, LaFayette.
Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, with the Rev. Roger Sailor officiating.
Burial will follow in Bryant cemetery in LaFayette.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 11 a.m. today.
Catherine Humphreys
ELLIJAY, Ga. - Catherine Humphreys died here on Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. She was 72.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Bernhardt Funeral Home, Ellijay, with the Rev. Edmund Miller officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are announced by Peeples Funeral Home, Chatsworth.
Gladys Jackson
DALTON, Ga. - Gladys Goswick Jackson died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998, at her home. She was 85.
She was the widow of Claude Jackson, Sr., and the mother of the late Claudine Caylor and Claude Jackson, Jr.
Survivors include three daughters, Louise Lowery, Frances Jackson, and Mary Fowler, all of Dalton; two sons, Willie Jackson, Rocky Face, Ga., and Walter Jackson, Dalton; one sister, Jimmie Keith, Dalton; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at McFarland Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Laster and the Rev. Ronald Guffey officiating.
Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 6 p.m. at Love Funeral Home.
Carl Jeffery
Carl Jeffery of Rossville, Ga., died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in a local health care facility. He was 91.
A native of Argo, Ala., he lived in the Chattanooga area most of his life.
He was a member of the East Ridge Masonic Lodge 755, the Harrison Order of the Eastern Star 56 and the Sheetmetal Workers Local 5.
A member of the Avondale Baptist Church, he was retired from Southern Blow Pipe, after 41 years of service.
He was the father of the late Henry Allen Jeffery.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Jeffery; two sons, Larry Jeffery of Chattanooga, and Charles Jeffery of Harrison; one daughter, Karen Millsap of Rossville; one brother, J.P. Jeffery of Harrison; two sisters, Ella Mae Headrick of Sylvester, Ga., and Margaret Matthews of Red Bank; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of the Turner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bobby Wash officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Leona Jenssen
Leona Jenssen died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, in a Duluth, Ga., hospital.
A native and longtime resident of the Chattanooga area, Mrs. Jenssen was a member of North Chattanooga Church of God, a volunteer at North Park Hospital and Moccasin Bend, Past Matron of the Dorcus Chapter O.E.S., a member of the North River Home Demonstration Club and the Kosmos Woman's Club, and past president of the Manchester Park Garden Club.
She was the widow of Norman Jenssen Sr.; and the sister of the late Frederick, Winfred, William and Nathan Carroll, and Betty Catherine Linam and Elizabeth Judge.
Survivors include two children, Norman Jenssen Jr., Alpharetta, Ga., and Linnea Naylor, Duluth, Ga.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Hammock, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.
Services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Marshall E. Roberson officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

CHATSWORTH, Ga. - Edna Mae Baggett Jones died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at her home. She was 73.
Funeral services were to be held today at 4 p.m. at the Peeples Funeral Home, with the Rev. Danny Cochran and the Rev. Crafton Dover officiating.
Burial was to follow in the Spring Place Cemetery.

DALTON, Ga. - Haley Wood Keister of Jacksonville, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998. He was 73.
Services were held Wednesday in Jacksonville.
A graveside service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Whitfield Memorial Gardens in Dalton.
