Grady Eugene Turner
Grady Eugene Turner, age 82, of McDonough, Georgia died May 25, 2006. Mr. Turner was born in McDonough, the son of the late Jarrett Peeples and Lula Maude Tidwell Turner, Sr. He was a mechanic and loved to rebuild and restore old cars.
He is survived by his siblings, Jarrett Turner of Stockbridge, Sara Yarborough of Minnesota, Molly Mae Johnston of Macon, Ann Stephens of Stockbridge, Adele Hancock and Bell Hays, both of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held May 27, 2006 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Mark Turner and Jarrett Turner officiating. Interment Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Angela Lynn Hodges
Angela "Angie" Lynn Hodges, age 29, of Covington, Georgia formerly of McDonough, died May 26, 2006. Ms. Hodges was born January 7, 1977 in Spalding County. She was a member of Locust Grove First Baptist Church. She was employed by Courtesy Automobile Dealership and had just received her certificate for cosmetology and hair design. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Thomas Hodges.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Cindy and Chris Moreland; father and stepmother, Jimmy and Cheryl Hodges; and stepsister, Hanna Hodges, all of McDonough; grandparents, Gloria and James Garland of Locust Grove, W.L. and Margaret Collins of Griffin, Ed and Martha Pelot of Griffin, Felix and Regina Moonynhan of Covington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were held May 29 at First Baptist Church of Locust Grove, with Rev. Chris Monroe and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Interment Locust Grove Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Rainwater Stubbs
Elizabeth Rainwater Stubbs, age 78, of McDonough, Georgia died May 27, 2006. Mrs. Stubbs was born November 16, 1927 in Fulton County, the daughter of the late Minor H. and Corrie Matilda Lewis Rainwater. She was a member of McDonough First United Methodist Church and was an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stubbs in 1991; grandchild, Tonya Cheeves; siblings, Judy Tisdale, Frances Crosson, Randolph Rainwater, Richard Rainwater, James Rainwater, Jerry Rainwater, and Paul Rainwater.
She is survived by her children, Diane and Wayne Surcey of Cartersville, Gary and Shirley Morgan of Loganville, Steve and Trisha Morgan of McDonough; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Ollie Boyd and Ronnie Rainwater, both of Pendergrass, Helen Patton of Flowery Branch; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held May 31 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Mack Riley officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Katherine Bishop
Katherine Bishop, age 83, of Stockbridge, Georgia died May 28, 2006. Mrs. Bishop was born to the late Coy and Annie Lou Byrd Johnson. She was an avid gardener, loved to cook for her family, and travel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Benson Bishop; grandson, Tod Bishop; great-grandson, Stephen Bishop; and sisters, Betty Faircloth and Charlotte Johnston.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry C. (Bern-ice) Bishop of McDonough, Ben (Jane) Bishop of The Rock; sisters, Jackie Tallman of McDonough, Joann Kennedy of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Lindy Harrison of Senoia, Tracy Brand of Concord, Kay Rose, Kathi Barnes, both of Stockbridge, Ted Bishop of McDonough; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 31 in the chapel of Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Virgil Dupree Chambers
Virgil Dupree Chambers, age 78, of McDonough, Georgia died May 30, 2006. Mr. Chambers was the son of the late Frances Ivora Leming and Levi Egbert Chambers. He retired from the railroad as a tariff writer. He was an avid reader and he enjoyed his cats and camping. He was a member of Locust Grove First Baptist Church, where he was a devoted leader and worker. He was a former member of Browns Mill Park Church. He was a graduate of Russell High School Class of 1945. He was preceded in death by a brother, E. L. Chambers; and a sister, Mary Chambers.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Crawford Chambers of McDonough; children, Mechelle and Tom Lang of Springfield, Murry and Cindy Chambers of McDonough; grandchildren, Max Lang, Robert Lang, Jason Chambers, Whitney Chambers, Benjamin Chambers, Brenda Roberts, Ashley Weeks and Kaitlin Weeks; great-grandchild, Andru Roberts; sister, Doris Bennett; sister-in-law, Dorothy Chambers; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held June 1 at Holly Hill Cemetery, with Dr. Clarence E. Drummond officiating. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Calvin Clarence Kittle
Calvin Clarence Kittle, age 79, of McDonough, Georgia died May 30, 2006. Mr. Kittle was born May 31, 1926 in Whitfield County, the son of the late Cora Mae Cook and John Adolphus Kittle. He was known as PaPaw and Pa Kittle. He retired from Terminal Transport with over 25 years of service. He attended Mt. Carmel Assembly of God. He enjoyed camping, restoring old cars, going to flea markets and yard sales. He was preceded in death by brothers, John A. Kittle and Ralph Kittle; and sisters, Pearl Hise and Helen Brownlee.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Stone Kittle of McDonough; children, Carol Eskew Rexrode and husband Jim of Lake Martin, Alabama, Wanda Jones and husband Jimmy of Stockbridge, Glenda Buttigieg and husband Nick of St. Petersburg, Florida, Tina Brooks and husband Rocky of Hampton; grandchildren, Suzanne Chapman, Lisa Eskew, Alison Eskew, Kasey Rexrode, Christy Jones-Gambino, Paige Perry, Nancy Buttigieg, Bryan Brooks and Daniel Brooks; great-grandchildren, Caroline Chapman, Tyler Perry and Lane Perry; sister, Lois Boyd of Smyrna.
Services were held June 1 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Carol Renfroe officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Dr., McDonough, Georgia, 30253. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

James Asberry Miller
James Asberry (Bud) Miller, age 92, of McDonough, Georgia died May 14, 2006. Mr. Miller was born in McDonough, the son of the late William Henry and Judy Bell Mitchell Miller. Bud was just a good man. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lena Mae Allen, Ruth Killen; and brother, William (Ed) Miller, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Alice O. Miller of McDonough; sister, Martha (Jimmy) Glass of McDonough; step-daughter, Carol North of Marietta; step-son, Larry (Kay) North of Newnan; four step-grandchildren; special nephew, Don (Rhonda) Hall of McDonough; and several other nieces and nephews.
Services were held May 17 at New Hope United Methodist Church, with Rev. Gary Lewis officiating. Interment New Hope United Methodist. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Herbert Winfred Craig
Herbert "Herb" Craig, age 69, of McDonough, Georgia died May 18, 2006. Mr. Craig was born February 14, 1937 in Henry County, the son of the late Mildred Cowan Craig and John Hugh Craig, Sr. He was a member of Turner United Methodist Church and Lifetime Member of Moose Lodge #2170 and McDonough Lions Club. He served on the Henry County Development Authority, and was a past Henry County Commissioner. He owned and operated Craig Service Station in McDonough for 35 years and was also a Henry County bus driver. He enjoyed country music and karoke. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert T. Craig, Lamar Craig and Hugh Craig, Jr.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Don Watts of McDonough; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Ruby Craig, Richard and Nancy Craig, Sammy and Kim Craig, Larry and Melba Craig, Mike and Brenda Craig, all of McDonough; special friend for 35 years, Oma Cawthon of McDonough; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held May 21 at Turner United Methodist Church, with Rev. Michael Johns and Rev. James Miller officiating. Interment Haisten/ Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Parris
Dorothy Parris, age 95, of Stockbridge, Georgia died May 19, 2006. Mrs. Parris was born in Colon, Republic of Panama, the daughter of the late Samuel Foster and Florence Parris.
She is survived by her daughter, Vilma Gobourne of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Wayne and Stephen Gobourne of Atlanta, Sherrie Henson of Fort Washington , Maryland; seven great-grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Kayson, Bryan, Kendall, Hailey and Stephen; sister, Irene Caro of Richmond, California; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were held May 23 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
