Beverly Gene Morris Jacas
Mrs. Beverly Gene Morris Jacas, “affectionately known as Cutie” age 69 of McDonough, Georgia formerly of Miami, Florida died August 26, 2007. Mrs. Jacas was born icon in Jamaica the daughter of the late Irene Elizabeth Roberts and Landslott Wolfe Morris. Mrs. Jacas was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed life and doing for others and celebrating the holidays. She was known for being an excellent cook and hostess. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Winston.
Survivors are her husband of 52 years, Roy Jacas of McDonough; children, Marcia and Patrick Soares, Carol and Ricky Richardson, Sandra and Desmond Riley all of Miami, Florida and Vaughn and Caletha Jacas and Dionne Jacas both of McDonough; siblings, Patricia, Monica, Delores and Barrington; 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Services were held September 4 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Pastor David Riley officiating. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

W.L. (Tommy) Tomlinson
W.L. (Tommy) Tomlinson, age 81, of Stockbridge, Georgia died Monday, August 27, 2007. He was born icon in Lake City, Florida the son of the late Willie Ausbin and Maggie Terrell Tomlinson. Mr. Tomlinson was a member of First Baptist Church, Stock bridge. He graduated from the University of Georgia and served in World War II. After college, he taught agriculture in the South Georgia area and enjoyed fishing and farming. He spent most of his career working for the State of Georgia in Vocational Rehabilitation. But most of all he loved his family. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lavon Tomlinson, Leon Tomlinson, Lindy Tomlinson; and brother-in-law, Herman Cook.
Mr. Tomlinson is survived by his wife, Marian Elizabeth (Cook) Tomlinson, of Stockbridge; daughters, Sherry Poirier, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lynda Gail (Fred) Haney of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Lindy Donahue, Kyle Haney; sister, Mary Freeman of Dothan , Alabama; sisters-in-law; Carolyn Wilkes of Brunswick, Pat Waguespack of McDonough, Barbara Tomlin-son of Dothan, Alabama, Bonnie Tomlinson, of Fayettville, North Carolina; and brother-in-law, Delbert Wilkes.
Funeral services were held August 29 at First Baptist Church, Stockbridge with Rev. Steve Murell officiating. Interment Fairview Memorial
Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Grady Lee Clark
Mr. Grady Lee Clark, age 66, of McDonough, Georgia died August 28, 2007. He was born icon in Fulton County the son of the late Sarah Ferguson and Grady Jackson Clark. He was retired from Owens-Illinois, he enjoyed motorcycles, was past president of GABMA, and a member of Masonic Lodge #644 of Tyrone.
Survivors are his wife, Isabell (Betty) Clark of McDonough; children, Carolyn Balentyne of Woodstock, Dianna Yarbrough of Atlanta, and Tony Clark of McDonough; sister, Barbara Denton of Augusta; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Clark were held September 2 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Maggie Elaine Hunter
Maggie Elaine Hunter, age 6, of Stockbridge, Georgia died Wednesday, August 29, 2007. She was a member of The Rock Baptist Church and enjoyed going to both Sunday School and Church. She loved fishing at grandaddy's house, swimming at Meme's, the beach, running and playing. She just loved life. Maggie had the most beautiful smile and a great laugh. She loved to be loved on, hugs were her favorite. But most of all, she enjoyed playing with her sisters, brothers, and cousins.
Maggie is survived by her parents, Joey C. and Trina D. (Garmon) Hunter; brothers and sisters, Tyler R. Downs, Travis E. Downs, Kaylee J. Hunter, Josie D. Hunter, Bradley J. Hunter, at home; maternal grandparents, LeRoy "Eddie" and Brenda Garmon of Stockbridge; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Janice Hunter of Jackson; maternal great-grandmother, Manzie Nelms of Kannapolis, North Carolina; paternal great-grandparents, Walter and Reba Wenger, of Jacksonville, Florida.
Funeral services were held August 31 at The Rock Baptist Church with Dr. Don Bazal and Rev. Joseph H. Hunter officiating. Interment The Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Marion Webb
Homegoing service for Mrs. Marion Webb was held Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in McDonough, Rev. Sharma D. Lewis, pastor, Rev. Antonio Sewell, eulogist. She is survived by six children, Mrs. Deborah Thomas (Robert), Mr. Earnest J. Miller, Ms. Melissa Ransom, Mrs. Susan Carlton (Arthur), Mr. Tony Webb (Chantel), Mr. Dion Miller, an adopted son, twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, six brothers, three sisters, an aunt, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. W. D. Lemon & Sons Funeral Home of McDonough in charge of arrangements.

Eva L. Mays
Eva L. Mays, age 87, of Jonesboro, Georgia died Thursday, August 30, 2007. She was born icon in Cherokee County. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Phillips Mays.
Mrs. Mays is survived by her daughter; Janet L (Louie) Peebles of McDonough; granddaughters, Brandi Mapp, Bridgette (Matthew) Donald both of McDonough, Tara (Wayne) Jarema, of Brooksville, Florida, Traci (Jason) Kendall of Mayfield, Kentucky; great-grandsons, Lathan Oeldrich of McDonough, Chris Hughes of Brooksville, Florida; great-granddaughter, Savanna Jarema of Brooksville, Florida; and sister-in-law, Ruby Huckaby of Fayetteville.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 1 at First Baptist Church of Morrow with Dr. Bill Lacy officiating. Interment Westview Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Gus Mitchell, Jr.
Mr. Gus Mitchell, Jr., age 82, of Hampton, Georgia died August 30, 2007. He was born icon August 5, 1925 to the late Augustus Elliott Mitchell, Sr. and the late Mattie Lynn Abercrombie Mitchell. He was a life-long member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, an ordained deacon and was very active in the church until his recent illness. Gus was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, and friend. He was always helping others, and he always put others before himself. He loved everyone. In years past, he enjoyed sharing vegetables from his garden with friends and neighbors. He lived by the scripture: do unto others, as you would have them do unto you. Gus graduated from Hampton High School in 1943 and went to work at Southern States, Inc. in Hampton. He retired in 1988 with more than 45 years of dedicated service. Gus was a member of Masonic Lodge #70 of Hampton, and was to receive his 60 year-apron in March 2008. Gus will best be remembered as a loving and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother and friend. His children and grandchildren will always treasure his love for them and the good times they shared. Gus was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Walker Mitchell, and an infant grandson, Matthew Ryan Chumbley. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Glenn W. Mitchell, three sisters, Millie Maude Hubbard, Nancy Louise Lewis and an infant sister.
He is survived by daughters, Brenda Craig (Mike) of McDonough, and Yvonne Chumbley (Scott) of Hampton, two granddaughters, Monica Craig and Kathleen Chumbley, several nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Bonnie Crosby.
Services were held September 2 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Patterson, Mike Henderson and Mike Smith officiating. Interment church cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home of McDonough in charge of arrangements.

Betty Eugene Hegwood Wallace
Mrs. Betty “BJ” Eugene Hegwood Wallace, age 73, of McDonough, Georgia died August 30, 2007. Mrs. Wallace was born icon in Fulton County the daughter of the late Mary Inez Newton and Thomas Hegwood. Mrs. Wallace enjoyed bowling, she was a member of the Forest Park Chapter Ritual Team for Women of the Moose, The Eastern Star of Forest Park, and retired with 20 years of service with Owens-Illinois. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Dottie, Ruthie & Catherine; brother, Buddy and great grandson, Dusty Patton.
Survivors are her husband, David Wallace of McDonough; children, Mike and Carla Winters of Iowa City, Iowa, Tony and Debra Winters of Conyers, Cindy and Ray Saggus of McDonough, and Steve and Valerie Winters of Iowa City, Iowa; grandchildren, Heather Winters, Shawn and Rebecca Winters, Gene, Tommy and Crystal Winters, Jeff and Kelly Patton, Paul Patton, Felicia and Serena Winters, Travis and J.R. Deeley; 14 great grandchildren, sister, Margaret Lester of Douglasville; brother, Leroy and Claire Hegwood of Texas ; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held September 2. Those who wish may make donations in memory of Betty to Moose Charity, Moose International, Moose Heart, IL 60539-1173 or American Cancer Society. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Donald Celiz Jabat
Mr. Donald Celiz Jabat, age 66, of Locust Grove, Georgia died September 1, 2007. Mr. Jabat retired as a mechanic with Pan Am Airlines with 25 years and Delta with 10 years. He retired from the US Air Force and US Army Reserve. Mr. Jabat was a private pilot who thoroughly enjoyed flying.
Survivors are his wife, Barbara Jabat of Locust Grove; children, James N. Jabat of Woodland, Alabama, Jodi S. Cardenas of Miami, Florida and Dana Junger of Stockbridge; seven grandchildren; brother, Victor Jabat of Douglasville.
Services for Mr. Jabat will be held October 7 at Mallard’s Landing Club House. Those who wish may make donations to the American Cancer Society or Sacred Journey Hospice. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Thomas David Bloodworth
Mr. Thomas David Bloodworth, age 69, of McDonough, Georgia died September 1, 2007. Mr. Bloodworth was born icon in Dekalb County the son of the late Agnes Shirley Hammonds and Thomas Vernon Bloodworth. Mr. Bloodworth was a contractor, served his country in the Army National Guard and was a member of Hampton First Baptist Church. He enjoyed his family, friends, church, senior center, gardening, hunting, fishing and NASCAR. His son, Steve Bloodworth, also preceded him in death in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Bloodworth of McDonough; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bobby Lacey of Hampton, Jean Willis of Forest Park and Gail and Floyd Harrington of Griffin; several nieces and nephews; extended family, Charles and Debbie Studle, Cindy and Ray Smith, Chris Studle, Mike Studle, and Susan Studle; extended grandchildren, Ryan Studle, Blake Studle, Amber Smith, Doug Garrett, Brooke Scott and Cole Wheeles.
Services for Mr. Bloodworth were held September 3 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Perstrope officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Tommie S. Colvin
Mrs. Tommie S. Colvin, age 95, lontime resident of Locust Grove, Georgia died September 3, 2007. Mrs. Colvin was a homemaker, member of the Locust Grove First Baptist Church and Women’s Club, and served in local civic and community organizations. She volunteered as a poll worker and community liason, provided services to those in need of comfort and transportation, and delivered Meals-on-Wheels. She was an avid gardener and member of the American Daylily Society.
Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Claudia Colvin of Snellville and Jack and Dianne Colvin of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Hank Colvin and David Colvin; sister, Kathryn Mabrey; and brothers, J.B. Smith, Vernon Smith and Richard Smith, all of the metro Atlanta area.
Services were held September 6 at the Locust Grove Cemetery with Rev. Craig Bowers officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 10 Cleveland St., Locust Grove, GA 30248. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
