Mr. Robert Lee Pittman III, 16, of Newnan, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003.

Born April 3, 1987, Pittman was a junior at Northgate High School. He loved country music and fishing,

Funeral services for Mr. Pittman will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Higgins Hillcrest Chapel. Family will receive friend from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held in Randleman, N.C.

Survivors include father and step-mother, Robert and Tammie Pittman; mother, Teresa Thomas of North Carolina; brother, James Jordan of Conyers, Ga.; sisters, April Pittman of Chicago and Nicole Mitchem of Conyers; Grandparents, Roy and Barbara Dixon of North Carolina and Al and Edith Whimpkey of North Carolina; grandfather, Tully Miller of Peachtree City; and aunts and uncles, Tony and Mike Ross of North Carolina, Kim and Chris Hanner of North Carolina and Kathy Sexton of Stockbridge.

Survivors include three sons, Jeffrey Sims, William Matthews and his wife Pauline, and Billy Matthews and his wife Deborah; two daughters, Tina Clements and husband Gerald of Grantville and Clifford Ann Mosqueda and husband Manuel of Hogansville; and six grandchildren.

Mr. Thomas (Tommy) David McKeehan
Mr. Thomas (Tommy) David McKeehan, 77, of 371 Pylant St. in Senoia, passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Kendrett Hospital in Atlanta.

Mr. McKeehan was born Nov. 17, 1925, in LaGrange to the late David A. and Mary S. Wilson McKeehan. He had lived in Senoia for the past 14 years after retiring as an antiques dealer. A member of the Senoia City Council, he is considered by many to be Senoia's "One Man Cultural Center."

In 1948, after serving in the U.S. Navy, he was the first male to enroll in LaGrange College in 135 years. He spent nearly four decades in theatre, in both Miami and New York. He worked in all aspects of the theatre, including acting, directing and set construction.

Funeral services for Mr. McKeehan will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church in LaGrange. Bro. Bobby Robinson will officiate. Family and friends will receive friends at his home and at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home in LaGrange from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Survivors include six sisters and one brother-in-law, Arietta Bailey of Warner Robbins, Ga., Alverda Mims of Canton, Ga., Laverne Yarborough of LaGrange, Mary Jane Proctor of Jacksonville, Fla., Nira Lene Martin of Locust Grove, Ga., and Bonnie J. and Jack S. Thomas of Stone Mountain. Ga.; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Linda L. McKeehan of Corinth, Ga.; and one aunt, Ruby Mayhew of Lawrenceville, Ga.

Mr. Larry Wayne Norton
Mr. Larry Wayne Norton, 52, of Hogansville, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003.

Born May 14, 1952 in LaGrange, Mr. Norton was the son of the late Ernest Paul Norton and the late Elizabeth Gay Norton. A Baptist, he lived in Troup County most of his life and worked as a carpet installer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Norton.

Funeral Services for Mr. Norton will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Bryan Geter will officiate, and Interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Worthy-Norton of Hogansville; one daughter, Randi Worthy of Hogansville; two sons, Larry Wayne Brown of Roanoke. Ala. and Nathan Worthy of LaGrange; two sisters, Mary Alice Lynch of Franklin and Bette Carpenter of West Point; two brothers, Bobby Norton of Franklin and Ernest Norton of LaGrange; one step-sister, Myra Hutter of Charleston, S.C.; three step-brothers, Spencer Butler, Lowell Butler and Jimmy Butler, all of LaGrange; two grandchildren, Courtney Brown and Nathan Worthy Jr.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Barbara Grace Gipson
Mrs. Barbara Grace Gipson, 64, of Newnan, Ga. died Sept. 26, 2003 at her residence.

Mrs. Gipson was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Gipson.

Surviving are sons, James Q. Gipson, Eddie L. Gipson, Danny R. Gipson, Dewayne C. Gipson; daughter, Patricia D. Gipson Purkey; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

She spent many years as a school bus driver for Coweta County Schools.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 27 from 6-8 p.m. at Higgins at Holly Hill funeral home.

A funeral will be at graveside Sunday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Fairburn, with Rev. Jim Smith officiating.

Mrs. Eulene Slaton (Slaton) Hayes
Mrs. Eulene Slaton (Slaton) Hayes, 78, of Grantville, Ga., died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 at her home.

She was born Nov. 10, 1924, daughter of the late Will Slaton and the late Loretta Flowers Slaton.

Surviving are two daughters, Gloria Blair of Newnan, Ga., and Teresa Lewis of Grantville, Ga.; three sons, Ricky Slaton of Newnan, Eddie Hayes of Newnan, Jerry Hines of Grantville; special friend, Tara Evans of Newnan; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Hayes; son, Ronnie Hayes; son, Tommy Hayes; sister, Jewell Harris; sister, Lorene Slaton; sister, Effie Patterson; sister, Myrtice McElwayne; brother, Lawrence Slaton; brother, Lyndsay Slaton; and brother, Travis Slaton.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at McKoon Funeral Home.

A funeral will be at McKoon Funeral Home chapel 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 with Rev. David Arrington, Rev. Archie Slaton and Rev. D. L. Moody officiating. Burial in Hopewell Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. James E. "Pat" Patterson
A funeral for Mr. James E. "Pat" Patterson, of Luthersville, Ga., will be Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at New Mt. Bethel Baptist Church.

Rev. Grady Lawrence officiating, assisted by Rev. E. Lee Jimerson, Rev. A. L. Birts and Rev. H. H. Dyer. Burial in Luthersville City Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers; the New Mt. Bethel Deacons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

He was born March 26, 1929 in Coweta County to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Patterson and was the youngest of 12 children.

He joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church at an early age and served faithfully. He married Wilma T. Parks, who preceded him in death.

He was reared in Coweta County and attended Coweta County School System. He was employed with International Playtex 38 years and retired in 1992.

He was loved by his family and friends. He did so much to help others.

Surviving are step-mother, Mrs. Mary Ella Patterson; devoted daughter, Wanda Lovelace; grandson, Darion T. Davis; two brothers, Hubert Patterson, Chicago, IL and Edward F. Patterson, Atlanta; two sisters, Ms. Mattie P. Freeland, Atlanta, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence (Louise) Cook, Warsaw, Ind.; brother-in-law, Mr. Robert Woodard, Hogansville, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Parks, Luthersvile, and Mrs. Dorothy Hines, Newnan; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends; a friend, Mrs. Rebecca L. Woodard (mother of his daughter); devoted God-son, caretaker and best friend, Mr. Wendal Anderson (Gint.)

Mr. Harry A. Smith
Mr. Harry A. Smith, 76, of Newnan, Ga., died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003 at his residence.

He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and of the Sylvan Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Martha (Deariso) Smith; daughter, Paula Griffith of Lawrenceville, Ga.; brother, S. O. Smith of Dublin, Ga.; one granddaughter and one great-grandson; three nephews, two great-nieces and one great-nephew.

The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26.

A funeral will be at Macedonia Baptist Church 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 with Rev. John Riley and Rev. Searcy Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Shriners' Children's Hospital or Macedonia Baptist Church.

Mr. Gregory Robert Arnold
Mr. Gregory Robert Arnold died Sept. 22, 2003 as the result of an automobile accident.

A funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. at Newnan Chapel United Methodist Church.

Rev. Moses Woodruff will officiate, assisted by Rev. Rufus Smith and Rev. Willie Johnson. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Elk Berry, Tyrone Jackson, Jerome Jackson, Anthony D. Thompson, Darryl V. Thompson, Jeffrey D. Thompson, Mitchell D. Thompson and Victor Horsley. Honorary pallbearers are family and friends.

Mr. Arnold was born May 3, 1965 to Vertis Arnold-Little. He was a member of Newnan Chapel United Methodist Church and a 1983 graduate of Newnan High School. He was employed by Tri-Mac Trucking Company. Greg loved driving trucks and had recently purchased his first "Big Rig."

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Emma Hendricks and step-father, Rev. Charlie Little.

Surviving are mother, Vertis Arnold-Little; daughter, Shanteria Appollonia, both of Newnan; devoted fiancé, Angelia Fuller of Huntsville, AL; sister, Lynn Jackson of Newnan; special cousins, Shantay Freeman and Deann Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
