Mrs. Rosa Mayr Sprayberry
Service for Rosa Mayr Sprayberry, 77, was 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, Columbia, S.C., with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epworth Children's Home. Visitation was Saturday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sprayberry died Friday, June 25, 2004. Born in Austria, she was a daughter of the late George Mayr and Katharina Bliem Mayr. She was employed as a waitress for fifty years; most recently she was employed with Shoney's for fourteen years.

Mrs. Sprayberry was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are her husband, Billy Hopkins Sprayberry Sr.; sons, Hans Mayr of St. Michael, Austria, Billy H. Sprayberry Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and David W. Sprayberry of Columbia; daughters, Arlene S. Traxler and her husband, Marion O. Traxler, of Edgefield and Katherine A. Sprayberry of Columbia; and grandchildren, Marion O. "Tray" Traxler III, Travis B. Traxler, David Ryan Sprayberry, Lauren Ashley Sprayberry, Brigit Mayer, Elizabeth Mayr and Clemons Mayr. She was predeceased by her sister, Katherine Aigner.

Mr. Ricky Crook
Mr. Ricky Eugene Crook, age 49, of Highway 85, Gay, Ga., passed away on Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Spalding Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Crook was born icon in Griffin, Ga., on May 23, 1955 to the late Everette Crook and the late Lindell Tyler Crook. He was loved deeply by his family.

Mr. Crook is survived by his children, Patricia Crook Smith of Alvaton, Ga., Tina Crook of Haralson, Ga., Rebecca Crook of Luthersville, Ga., and Randy Crook of Griffin; eight grandchildren; sister Sandra Norred of Sharpsburg, Ga.; brothers Barry Crook of Fitzgerald, Ga., and David Crook of Senoia; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Ricky Crook will be conducted on Monday, June 28, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Rev. Gene Walton will officiate. Interment will follow in Estes Family Cemetery in Gay, Ga. Friends visited the family Sunday evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 West McIntosh Road, Griffin, is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Willie Rebecca (Smith) Darrington
Mrs. Willie Rebecca (Smith) Darrington, age 87, of Newnan, Ga., died Friday, June 25, 2004, at Newnan Hospital Nursing Rehab Center in Newnan, Ga. Mrs. Darrington was employed by W.L. Bonnell Co. as a machine operator.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Smith and the late Lela (Boswell) Smith.

She is survived by her four daughters Connie D. Springle of Wendell, N.C., Carol D. Winkles of Sargent, Ga., Valerie D. Cannon of Newnan, Ga., and Nancy D. Parks of Newnan, Ga.; son Ellis Darrington of Newnan, Ga.; and sister Margaret McMichael of Newnan, Ga.

Arrangements are being handled by McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan, Ga., where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2004. Funeral service will be at McKoon Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2004, Rev. David Arrington officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, Ga.

Mr. Daniel Calvin Bee
Mr. Daniel Calvin Bee, 60, of Whitesburg, Ga., died Thursday, June 24, 2004, in Skagway, Alaska.

Funeral services for Mr. Bee will be held Monday, June 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. Pastor David Armstrong will officiate, and Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Survivors of Mr. Bee include wife Eva Bee of Whitesburg, his children, grandchildren, one aunt and several cousins.

Mrs. Mary Georgia Knobler, 86, of Peachtree City, Ga., died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at the home of her daughter in Peachtree City.

Mrs. Knobler was born icon Nov. 26, 1917, in Sharpsburg, Ga. to the late Richard Talmadge and Georgia (Bowden) Moses. She was a retired medical technologist.

Funeral services will be held at Turin Baptist Church at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2004. The Rev. Haco Von Hacke will officiate, and Interment will be at Sharpsburg Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include husband Charles Knobler; daughter, Dr. Carla H. Knobler of Peachtree City; son, Donald G. Knobler of Dallas, Texas ; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Telmage "Tim" Clem Jr.
Mr. Telmage "Tim" Clem Jr., 54, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Bloomington Hospital. He was born icon on Feb. 7, 1950 in Patuxent Bay, Maryland, the son of Telmage Clem Sr. and Emo Jean (Adams) Clem, who precede him in death.

Tim had attended Indiana University, enjoyed writing and had just recently had his science fiction novel, "Katchka Magic" published. He also loved scuba diving and was a master scuba diver.

He is survived by his wife Judy (Borders) Clem of Bloomington; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Brian Wampler of Bloomington; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Rhonda Clem of Newnan, Ga., brother, Ron Clem of Westport, Indiana; three grandchildren, Brenna, Madison and Cole Wampler.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7363 E 21st St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46219.

Mr. Herman D. Moon of Senoia, Ga., formerly of East Point, died June 22, 2004.

Survivied by his wife of 42 years, Joyce Moon; children, Danny L. (Tammie) Moon, Senoia, Scott (Angela) Moon, Locust Grove, Tracey (Trevor) Shuman, Senoia; sisters, Myrtle Stitcher and Shirley Smith, both of Hogansville; grandchildren, Danya Moon, Ryan Moon, Hailey Moon, Kyle Shuman and Chase Shuman; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 25 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley, with Rev. James Moon and Joe Felder officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Sallie Kate Hannah
Mrs. Sallie Kate Hannah passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan. Mrs. Hannah was born icon Feb. 22, 1905 in Coweta County to Luther Glen and Permelia Brown. She was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church and worked for Moreland Textiles Mill for many years. She was married icon to the late Robert A.Hannah. Survivors are several nieces and nephews and a special niece, Mrs. Sara Ham of Newnan. Funeral services will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with Minister Rev. David Arrington. Interment Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, make contributions to Oaklawn Baptist Church Building Fund. Higgins Hillcrest Chapel in charge of services for Mrs. Sallie Kate Hannah.

Mr. Jimmy B. Magill
Mr. Jimmy B. Magill (The Colonel), age 82, retired U.S. Air Force, died June 21, 2004, while residing at Wesley Woods of Newnan, Georgia. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 26, at 2 p.m. with visitation at 1 p.m. at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, Ga. Pastor Ed Martin will officiate.

Col. Magill retired after 30 years of serving his country in active duty, including service in World War II and Vietnam. He received numerous service awards including the Air Medal, Bronze Star and Legion of Merit. After his military tenure he made his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with his wife, Elsie (Terry) Byrd Magill, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by son, James B. Magill III (Beth), of Ashville, North Carolina; daughter, Sally Magill Thompson of Newnan; four grandchildren, Andrew, Connor and Hannah Magill and Rose Thompson; cousin, Arthur Magill of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Alzheimer's Association.

Mr. Richard N. Pray
Mr. Richard N. Pray, 65, born icon on Nov. 16, 1938, passed away Tuesday morning at home with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonny Pray; son, Richard Scott (Lisa) Pray; daughter, Lori Ann (Louie) Wilson; grandchildren, Bonny-Nicole, Daniel and Jordan Meacham, and Tabitha Jean Pray, all of Coweta County.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 24, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service.

Thomas "Tom" Edwin Mowers, 38, of Newnan, Ga., died Sunday, June 20, 2004. The family was receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. The funeral will be at Peachtree City Church of God on Highway 34 East in Coweta County at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Miss Carol Ann Bexley
Miss Carol Ann Bexley, 46, born icon August 2, 1957, died Monday, June 21, at Newnan Hospital following a brief illness. She is survived by her parents Glenn and Alice Bexley of Newnan; two brothers, Bill (Cathy) Bexley, Bob (Daye) Bexley; four nephews, Brett Bexley, David Bexley, Robert Bexley and Tyler Coggin, all of Peachtree City.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 22, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, with Dr. Joel Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family requests that flowers be omitted and contributions made in her memory to Central Baptist Church of Newnan Building Fund, 14 West Broad Street, Newnan, GA 30263.

Mrs. Doris McMichael Howard of Smyrna, Ga., died 11:45 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Tranquility Hospice at South Cobb Hospital.

The family was receiving friends at Wickenhofer Funeral Home Monday from 6-9 p.m. The funeral will be at Floyd Road Baptist Church in Austell 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, with burial at Georgia Memorial Park (corner of Cobb Parkway and Windy Hill Road, Marietta).

Surviving are her husband, Buford Howard; daughter, Shelby Cole (Gerald) and son, Danny Howard (Gail), all of the Cobb County area; sister, Sara Williams, Smith Station Ala., Martha Chastain, Marietta; brothers, Franklin McMichael, Jacksonville, Fla., David McMichael, Newnan, Ga.; grandchildren, David Cole, and Todd and Drake Howard.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Floyd Road Baptist Church, 3996 Floyd Rd., Austell, GA 30106.

Mrs. Mildred Alexander
Mrs. Mildred Alexander, age 90, of 4641 Hwy 34, Sharpsburg, Ga., passed away Sunday, June 20, 2004 at her residence. She was born icon Sept. 22, 1913 in Fulton County, Ga., to the late Raynard Rogers and Louie Thompson Rogers. She was a retired supervisor having worked for The Arrow Company and was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Sharpsburg, Ga.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Alexander; and a daughter, Gloria A. Odom. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John and Cindy Alexander of Sharpsburg; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at 3 p.m. from the Crossroads Baptist Church in Sharpsburg with Rev. Ken Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Waco Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, June 21, from 4 until 9 p.m.

Mr. William Gerry Hargrove
Mr. William Gerry Hargrove, 73, died Saturday, June 19, 2004, in Foley, Ala.

Mr. Hargrove was a native of Atlanta and a resident of Lilburn, Ga. He retired from Texaco in 1986 and was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Norcross, Ga. In addition, he was a member of the Gwinnett Seniors Club.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Survivors include wife of 51 years, Cornelia Hargrove of Lilburn; two sons, William Gerry Hargrove Jr. of Sneads, Fla. and Jeffrey Neel (Lynn) Hargrove of Newnan; one brother, John Harry Hargrove of Birmingham, Ala.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Homegoing celebration for J. C. Wood Sr. will be held on Sunday, June 20, 2004 at 3 p.m. from the Sellers-Smith R. W. S. Memorial Chapel with the Rev. J. P. Geter officiating, assisted by Rev. J. W. Russell Jr.

On Dec. 30, 1945, at 10 p.m. in Newnan, Georgia, God blessed Levie and Ester Wood with their only son, Joe Cefus Wood Sr., affectionately known as J. C. As fate would have it, he went on to fulfil his parents' dream to become a family man and a productive citizen. He embarked on his life's journey by matriculation in the public schools of Coweta County. In 1964 he gaduated from Central High School, continuing his journey through adulthood. He married icon Suzette Jones on January 19, 1966. To this union five children were born.

Before he could assume full responsiblity as a husband, J. C. was called to serve his country. Being obedient, he enlisted in 1966 and served faithfully, and unselfishly. He was discharged in 1970 and received a distinguished commendation of a Purple Heart for wounds he received in action. Returning to civilian life, he became gainfully employed by the Georgia Power Company as a dedicated Senior Store Keeper for over thirty years and he remained loyal until his untimely demise on June 17, 2004.

Survivors: wife, Suzette; four sons, Antoine, Joe Cefus Jr., Bryant and Brett of Newnan; daughter, Melaneise Daniels of Kings Bay, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Melissa Wood; son-in-law, Alkina Daniels Jr.; mother, Ester Wood; three sisters, Lela Mae Clay of Chicago, Lucille McComb and Annie Ruth Sutton, both of Newnan; a supportive mother-in-law, Eula Kate Jones of Grantville; grandchildren, Mauriceo, Imani, Alkina III, Jahnae; two sisters-in-law, Annette Gibbs and Rochelle Jones; brothers-in-law, Milton Jones and Arthur Lee Berry; and a host of relatives and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble on the day of the service at the home of his son, Joe Cefus Jr., 169 Robinson Rd., Newnan, at 2 p.m.

Mr. Billy D. Dollar Sr.
Mr. Billy D. Dollar Sr., 68, of Hogansville, Ga., died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Hospice LaGrange.

Born Sept. 23, 1935 in Meriwether County, Mr. Dollar was the son of the late Brown and Mattie Woodruff Dollar. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and retired from James River Corp. after 31 years of service. A resident of Hogansville most of his life, he was a member of Highland Baptist Church, was a member of the Hogansville Optimist Club, and was a longtime Little League coach, having carried a team to the Little League World Series.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Dollar of Hogansville; four sons, Bill Dollar Jr. and his wife Debbie, and Kevin Dollar ans his wife Tammy, all of Hogansville, Steve Dollar and Randy Dollar, both of San Francisco, Calif.; soster, Patricia DeStefano of McDonough; brother, Joseph Dollar of Greenville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, John Murray Dollar, and a grandson, Jackson Dollar.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with Interment in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Terry W. Williams
Mr. Terry W. Williams, 53, of Newnan, Ga., died Thursday, June 17, 2004. He was born icon January 11, 1951 in Chambers County, Alabama, to C. J. Williams and the late Betty Ann Williams. Mr. Williams was a retired insurance agent.

He is survived by his wife Tina Williams of Newnan. His parents, C. J. and Linda Williams of Newnan.

Surviving are two daughters, Tara (Jim) Murphy and Jacqueline Lacock, both of Newnan; son, Shane (Tina) WIlliams, Newnan; brothers, Jack (Zoe) Williams of Pensacola, Fla. and Tim C. (Toni) Williams of Newnan; sisters, Robin (Tony) Wilbanks and Leigh Ann (Don) Jones, all of Newnan; six grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews and five great-nieces.

Arrangements are being handled by McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, Ga., where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 18. Funeral service will be at McKoon Funeral Home at noon Saturday, June 19, with Pastor Mike Harris officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan, Ga.
