Mr. Harold A. Kam of Stone Mountain died Oct. 3, 2004. He was a veteran of WWII and a guiding force in the religious community. Mr. Kam is survived by his wife, Mrs. Enid L. Ms. Annie Kate Bussler, 89, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004.

Mrs. Vey J. Parish, 97, of Newnan, Ga., left peacefully to join Jesus Christ early on September 30, 2004 after an extended illness. Mrs. Parish was born
in Fairburn, Ga. on June 26, 1907. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Sgt. B. E. Parish; brother, Cliff Jones; sister, Mary Cox; twin sister, Faye Beall.
She is survived by daughters Alice and Ralph Presley of Newnan, Ga. and Betty Jean and Sid Waldrop of Ashville, Ala.; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was retired from Cluett and Peabody and a member of Southwest Christian Church, East Point, Ga.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004 at 4 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, Ga. with Rev. Jim Dyer and Pastor Danny Wilson officiating. The family was receiving friends on Friday, Oct. 1 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Glenn Doyle "Red" Yates
Mr. Glenn Doyle "Red" Yates, 71, of Molena, Ga. died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004 at his home. Mr. Yates was a U.S. Navy veteran, a Delta Airlines retiree, and owner of D-n-T Custom Tees. He was also a dedicated and talented musician, specializing in bluegrass as a member of "Brushfire." He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. "Toni" Yates.
He is survived by his three daughters, Teresa Hobbs, Deb Salter and Sandra Salter, all of Jonesboro, Ga.; sons, David Yates of Jonesboro and Alan Yates of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Shirley Holloway of Austell, Ga. and Helen Horne of Franklin, Ga.; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous extended family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, Ga. where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2. Mr. Herbert W. Biles Jr., 87, of Sharpsburg, Ga., died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004. He was born
June 16, 1917 in Cleveland, Tenn.
Mr. Biles was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Robbie Lee Biles and son Herbert W. Biles III. He is survived by two daughters, Rose Margaret Fowler of Sharpsburg, Ga. and Cena Martin of Shelbyville, Tenn.; sister, Myrtice Matthews of Fayetteville, Ga.; and brother, Jack Bernard of Tallahassee, Fla.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jamie Ted "Buddy" Bryant Sr.
Mr. Jamie Ted "Buddy" Bryant Sr. , 68, of Newnan, Ga., died at his home Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 29, 2004 after an extended illness. Mr. Bryant was born
in 1936 in Columbus, Ga. to William and Nancy Bryant. In Columbus, he worked as a bail bondsman and in 1971 moved to College Park where he worked for Anaconda Aluminum and also in real estate. Later, he worked for the State of Georgia before retiring to Sharpsburg.
Mr. Bryant is survived by his friend, Ms. Gerda Bowen od Newnan; two sons, Jamie Bryant Jr. of Sharpsburg and Jamie Cassady of Wilmington, North Carolina; three daughters, Tina Marie Hodge of Waycross, Ga., Teresa Gay Burdett of Riverdale, Ga. and Janie Tara Harbin of Waverly Hall, Ga.
James Bowen, Charles Bowen, Ronnie Moon, Jimmie Bowen, Charles Burdett and Samuel Wynn will serve as pallbearers.

Dr. Thomas George Crymes III
Dr. Thomas George Crymes III, DDS, 69, of Columbus, Ga. died at his residence Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004.
Graveside services will be held noon Saturday, Oct. 2, in Linwood Cemetery
with Rev. Charles Hasty Jr. officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-6 p.m. at the residence.
Dr. Crymes was born
April 1, 1935 in Greenville, S.C., son of the late Thomas George Crymes Jr and Mildred Wimbish Crymes. He attended Emory University and graduated from Emory University Dental School in 1959 and married
Rebecca Dugan October 10, 1959. He was the grandson of the late Thomas George Crymes Sr. and the great grandson of John Westmoreland Crymes, both dentists in South Carolina. He served in the U.S Navy as a Second Lieutenant from 1959 until 1961. After his Naval service he practiced General Dentistry in Atlanta from 1961 until 1962. Dr. Crymes completed post graduate studies in Oral Surgery at Tufts University, Boston, Mass (1962-1963) and a residency program in Oral Surgery at Boston City Hospital (1963-1965). He had a private practice, Thomas George Crymes III, DDS Oral Surgery, from 1965 until his retirement in 1997. Dr. Crymes was a member and Past President of the Western District Dental Society, an Honorable Fellow of the Georgia Dental Association and a member of the American Dental Association. He was a member of the Green Island Country Club, the Big Eddy Club and active member of First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Crymes also served on the Board of Linwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Rebecca Dugan Crymes of Columbus, GA; his daughter, Rebecca Lillian Crymes of Rome, GA; his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas George and Laura Tate Crymes and their children, Tate, Madison and Thomas George Crymes Jr. all of Newnan, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. William Burke and Freddie Crymes of Charleston, SC; his sisters and a brother-in-law, Mildred Crymes Young of Greenville, SC, Mary Lillian Crymes and James Dickey of Aiken, SC; several nieces and a nephew.

Mrs. Frances Hicks (Frankie) Gilpin, 85, of Victoria Lane, Newnan, Ga., died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004.
Mrs. Gilpin was born
Feb. 26, 1919, in Bartow County, the daughter of William and Daisey Murphy Hicks. She was a retired beautician and member of First Baptist Church, Newnan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Dale Gilpin Sr.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Pam Gilpin of Newnan; grandchildren, Kris Gilpin and Kelly and Montanze Whatley of Newnan; great-grandchildren, Jesse Gilpin and Jaylen Whatley; sister, Lois Ethel Mabry of Chattanooga, Tenn.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

He joined Scotts Chapel Methodist Church of Moreland, Ga., and later merged with the Clark Chapel United Methodist Church, where he remained an active member. He was president of the Trustee Board, member of the United Methodist Men, and chairman of the Finance Committee. He also served as treasurer of the West Georgia Christian Men's Club.
Surviving are daughter, Patricia Kendricks; granddaughters, Annitris Marcus and Valerie Kendricks; great-grandson, Marcus Tucker; great-granddaughter, Mia Lockett; mother, Surnella Ayers; sisters, Ruby L. Hart, Utess Marcus, Uella Calhoun and Annie M. Terrell; brother, Ira Marcus; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Mabel Whitley McClellan, 93, of Seminole Road, LaGrange, Ga., died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. McClellan was born
Oct. 29, 1911 in Randolph County, Ala., daughter of the late John Robert and Clemie Hall Whitley. She had lived in LaGrange most of her life and was a member of Southwest LaGrange Baptist Church, Georgia Mission Leader, Ladies Mission Group and the CEA Ceramic Club.
Survivors include one son, Norman McClellan of Cedar Bluff, Ala.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria Faye and Jimmy Buck of Stockbridge and Sandra and Grover Carter of Newnan; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Steve and Rhonda McClellan, Sam and Samantha McClellan, Scott and Teresa McClellan, Jeannie and Barry Carson, Pamela and Cornelius Herndon, Jaye and Bobby Copeland, Nanci and Mike Hamlin, Boyd and Marsha Cummings, Jeff and Lisa Carter, and Norman and Kim Carter; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Alvin Gilbert Arrowood, 79, of Sharpsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004.
He served on the Sharpsburg City Council for 14 years and was the Mayor of Sharpsburg for 16 years. He was retired from the Civil Service at Fort McPherson and was employed at Gilroy's Hardware Store in Peachtree City.
He was a member of Sharpsburg Baptist Church for 34 years and was a deacon there as well.
He was a member of the East Point Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Arrowood, of Sharpsburg; daughters Connie Smith and Patty Arrowood, both of Sharpsburg; a granddaughter, Jessica Smith, of Sharpsburg; a sister, Bessie Penn, of Chamblee; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, where family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. today.

Mr. Wendell L. Shelnutt
Mr. Wendell L. Shelnutt, 52, of Grantville, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2004, at his home. His death followed an extended battle with cancer.
Born March 30, 1952, in Newnan, he was preceded in death by his father, Harvey D. Shelnutt.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Martha Norwood Shelnutt, of Newnan; his wife, Vernie M. Shelnutt, of Grantville; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Steve Neill, of Newnan; a son, Harold C. (Charlie) Brown, of Grantville; a granddaughter, Mallory Neill, of Newnan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and Glenn Ragsdale, of Peachtree City, Daffey and David Freeman, of Hogansville, and Diane and Bob Hughie, of Newnan; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Shelnutt had made his home in Grantville for the past 26 years, where he was active in little league coaching and administration. He was a J. Company Dancers parent volunteer, was a Coweta County Special Olympics volunteer, and was a dedicated member of the Grantville First United Methodist Church, where he served as Lay Leader and held many positions on the Administrative Board.
He was employed as a consumer supervisor by the Rutledge Center of Newnan, where he was able to fulfill his desire to help individuals with special needs.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Grantville First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Palmer Boykin officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

Mr. Dan Charles Powell
Mr. Dan Charles Powell, "D.C.," "Daddy D" or "Grand Daddy D," as he was so fondly called, departed this life on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Powell attended school in Coweta County. He was preceded in death by his mother Curly Powell, brother Willie Melvin Powell and a lifetime partner Frances Phillips.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 26 at 2:30 p.m. at the chapel of Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home. Rev. Joe P. Geter will officiate and will be assisted by Evangelist Inez Moreland and Rev. L. S. Mr. Ralph Fears, 73, of Newnan, Ga., died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at Fairburn Health Care. Homegoing services will be held Friday, Nov. 26, from the Powell Chapel United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with remains placed in state at 10 a.m. The Rev. Joe P. Geter, pastor, officiating. Interment in church cemetery. He leaves to mourn: his loving wife, Sara; three sons, Ralph Fears Jr., Ronald Fears (both of Atlanta) and Kenneth Parks (Helen) of Dayton, Ohio. He also leaves two daughters, Jacqueline Fears and Elaine Hoff (Steven); 17 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. One sister, Hazel Barnes Shy, preceded him in death. He also leaves another sister, Carolyn (Robert) Stodghill; four sisters-in-law, Christine Parks, Christola Crawford, Mildred Ragland (Alfred), and Gladys Parks; two brothers-in-law, Eddie B. Mr. Larry Thrower
Mr. Larry Thrower, 58, of Newnan, Ga., died early Monday morning, Nov. 22, 2004, at his home after an extended illness while surrounded by his family. Mr. Thrower was born
in Newnan in 1946 to T. X. and Bessie Norton Thrower where his spent his entire life and raised his own family. He was a building contractor and the owner of Thrower Construction Company. A devout Christian, Mr. Thrower was not only an active member of Macedonia Baptist Church, but served as a deacon, Sunday school director, building and grounds superintendent, and had a perfect attendance record for more than 17 years before his illness. He will be remembered as a "Pillar" of Macedonia Baptist Church and the "Pillar" of his family. He is also compared to "Barnabas," the Encourager, for his continual encouragement to others. Even during the most difficult times in his fight with cancer, he was optimistic and upbeat.
Mr. Thrower is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mrs. Mary Nell Thrower; his mother, Mrs. Bessie Norton Thrower; a son, William Clint Thrower; a daughter, Lorrie Allen and her husband Pete; a brother, Roy Thrower and his wife Brenda; three grandchildren, Josh Cheatham, Shannon Thrower and Coty Thrower; several nieces and nephews and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Mr. T. X. Thrower, and a brother, Mr. Herbert Thrower. The deacons of Macedonia Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
