Mrs. Irene Pate Bryant
Mrs. Irene Pate Bryant, 85, of Newnan, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Newnan Hospital Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Bryant was born in Carroll County on July 22, 1919, to the late John Knight Pate and the late Mattie May Richards Pate. She was preceded in death by her husband Mason Elbert Bryant; brothers, Lamar Pate and John Pate Jr.; and one sister Dot Carnes. Mrs. Bryant was a retired seamstress from Playtex.

Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at the graveside in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Frank Guest will officiate. Ned Bryant, Bob Bryant, Greg Guest, Danny Carnes, Darrell Jones and Wilson Pate will serve as pallbearers. The family received friends on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. The family has asked that flowers not be sent but memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1841 Clifton Road, N.E., Atlanta, Ga. 30329. Mrs. Estelle Massey
Mrs. Estelle Massey, 91, of Newnan, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Avalon Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Massey was born Dec. 14, 1912, in Fayette County to the late William and Rachel Adams Parrott. She was a retired seamstress with Playtex.

Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 14, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church. Dr. Melvin Payne and Pastor Danny Wilson will officiate, and burial will follow at Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. Mr. Harper Glen Connally Jr.
Mr. Harper Glen Connally Jr., of Newnan, Ga., died Dec. 8, 2004. He was the son of the late Odessa and Glen Connally. His sister Jan Connally Nash also preceded him in death.

Mr. Connally was the beloved husband of Sandy for 38 years. He graduated from Newnan High School in 1957 and was a graduate of the University of Georgia where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Glen served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve for a number of years. He was in the lumber business with Mr. Bryce Alsobrook for several years before joining his father, mother and brother, Walker, in starting Newnan Salvage Co. After working at Newnan Salvage for several years, he and his family moved to Louisville, KY, in 1975 as Glen attended and later graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. From Louisville Mr. Connally was called to serve as minister of education and youth at The First Baptist Church of Milledgeville, Ga. With strong ties to the Newnan community, Mr. Connally and family later returned to Newnan to be closer to friends and family. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Glen was a warm and generous man, constantly seeking opportunities to provide to the community. Glen was instrumental along with others in establishing soccer in Coweta County. Glen was active in various civic organizations. He was a big supporter of the Newnan High School Athletic Program.

The memorial service is Saturday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Henderson and Rev. Bob Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 11 between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. The family requests that flowers please be omitted and memorial contributions be made to Central Baptist Church, P.O. Box 738, Newnan, GA 30264.

He is survived by his wife Sandy Brown Connally of Newnan; sons and daughters-in-law, Glen & Cynthia Connally III of Orlando, FL, Brett & Patricia Connally of Charlotte, NC; grandsons, Tyler Connally and Ryan Connally; sisters, June Rutledge of Newnan, Kay Manning and her husband Don of Arlington, TX; brother, Walker Connally and his wife Dawn of Newnan; brother-in-law, Bill Brown Jr. and his wife Susan of Marietta; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Edna Gertrude Cannon Morrow
Mrs. Edna Gertrude Cannon Morrow, 91, of 97 Beaver Run and former long-time resident of the Hillside Community, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004 at Hospice LaGrange.

Born Aug. 30, 1913 in Newnan, she was the daughter of Bert and Ophelia Dewberry Cannon and the wife of Landon Morrow Sr., who all preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and member of Oakside Baptist Church and a former member of Hillside Congregational Christian Church. She was preceded in death by brothers Earl, Glenn and Wendell Cannon.

Mrs. Morrow is survived by three children and their spouses: Glenda and Tyrone Smallwood of LaGrange, Gaynelle Lynn of Dacula, and Landon and Janice Morrow of LaGrange; eight grandchilden and their families: Ty and Tiffany Smallwood, Madelyn and Alayna, of Macon; Lisa and Mark Hudson and Chelsea of Dacula; Kim and Anthony Lamb, Selena and Skylar of Knoxville, Tennessee; Teena and HarryAndrews, Tommy, Nick and Nathan of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Angela Kilburn, Madison and Kyle of Dacula; Chad and Kim Smallwood, Cody and Connor of Newnan; Stacey and Ryan Shaffer of Dacula; and Jake Morrow of LaGrange. She is also survived by two brothers, four sisters, and their spouses: Virginia Fields, Reba and Ben Strickland of Newnan; Garfield and Nell Cannon of Palmetto, B.L. Cannon of Franklin, North Carolina, Charlsie Hardigree of Kennesaw, and Melba and Jack Kitchens of Oxford; and by three sisters-in-law: Fannie Mae Cannon of Hogansville, Edna Cannon of Panama City, Florida, and Dot Nix of Newnan. She also leaves a great number of beloved nieces and nephews.

Services for Edna G. Morrow will be held Saturday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Dr. Ralph Taylor and Rev. O. Max McCord will officiate. The family will be at the home of her son at 206 Merrill Drive and was receiving friends Friday, Dec. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may make memorial gifts to Hospice LaGrange.

Mr. Frederick Rosser
Mr. Frederick Roscoe Rosser, 35, died Dec. 2, 2004 in Austin, Texas .

Mr. Rosser was born Nov. 26, 1969, in Newnan, Ga., third child of Daniel Rosser and Georgia Ann Woods. He attended school in Newnan and graduated from Newnan High School before attending Kentucky State University. He was a Mason and a member of P.H.A. San Antonio #1. He joined Emmanuel A.M.E. Church one year ago.

Surviving are his wife, Tania Rosser; four children; his parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

A memorial was held Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel A.M.E. Church, San Antonio, Texas , with Rev. I. V. Tolbert, pastor, officiating. A funeral will be Saturday, Dec. 11, at Gus Thornhill Funeral Home chapel, East Point. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, College Park.

Ms. Maynard A. Hanson
Ms. Maynard A. Hanson, 87, of Newnan, Ga., died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004 at Newnan Hospital.

A native of Carroll County, she was born June 9, 1917, the daughter of the late John Robert and Mattie Lee Broome Hanson. Ms. Hanson, for 25 years, was an accountant for the city of Newnan. She is survived by her sister, Grace Hanson, of Newnan. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 9, at the graveside in The Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitesburg with Dr. Don Wells officiating. Mr. James Davis Massengale, 76, of Senoia, Ga., died Dec. 6, 2004. Mr. Massengale was retired from Ford Motor Company and owned and operated Massengale Grocery Store in Senoia. He is survived by his daughter, Lynda & David Allison of Moreland; daughter, Lynn & Andrew Cook of Sharpsburg; son, Mike and Rose Massengale of Senoia; son, Mark Massengale of Moreland; brother, Wilbur & JoAnn Massengale; brother, Johnny Massengale; grandchildren, Micah Dickie, Dane Dickie, Kain Allison, Lisa Allison, Brad Massengale; six great-grandchildren; one nephew. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeal home. Carl J. Mowell & Son, Fayetteville.

Mr. Danny McClain
Danny McClain, chairman of MicroBlend Technologies, Inc. of Gilbert AZ and inventor of the MicroBlend Paint System passed away in his sleep Friday morning, Dec. 3, 2004, while recovering from an extended illness. He was 36.

Friends, co-workers and family remember Mr. McClain as a towering intellect with a boyish grin and expansive heart. Dan Trevino, business partner and long-time friend, recalled Danny as: "a very compassionate man and he really cared about others. His mind was always working and sometimes we'd have to remind him of what day it was. Danny was a true genius." "Danny was amazing -- he could see a multi-layered situation, analyze it for a minute or two and work it out from A to Z when most folks would be happy to go from A to B," said Randy Hughes, who worked with Danny from the onset of the company.

His wife, Raynette, survives Danny as do his sons, Daniel, 16, Zachary, 13 and daughter Amelia, age 6. Danny also left behind his parents, Mr. Charles and Pat McClain of Newnan, GA and three brothers.

"We are deeply, deeply saddened by Danny's death," said Mel Sauder, CEO of MicroBlend Technologies. "Danny created something that we believe will impact the world. We will continue to move forward and honor his memory in doing so."

Services will be held at Grace Church at 8701 E. Brown in Mesa, AZ on Wednesday, Dec. 8 with a viewing at 2 p.m., and service at 3 p.m. A reception will follow at the church. (Directions: Heading east from Phoenix - Highway 60 to Ellsworth Exit - 191, then left (North) for 3.5 miles to E. Brown. Left to 8701 E. Brown.)

Mrs. Betty Jean McDonald Chambley Wilson, 69, of Griffin, Ga., died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at Spalding Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Wilson was born July 31, 1935, in Lamar County, daughter of the late Robert Lee McDonald and the late Frances Louise Cole McDonald. She was a member of West Sunnyside Community Church. She was a very loving person and always cooked for everyone. She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy McDonald.

Surviving are her husband of 6 years, Charles Wilson; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert & Gail Chambley of Griffin, Kenneth Chambley, also fo Griffin, Ricky Chambley of Unidilla, Darrell & Jenise Chambley of Greenville, SC; daughter & son-in-law, Denise & Oscar Morales of Griffin; sons and daughters, Eddie Wilson, Anthony Wilson, Vance & Stacey Wilson and Jane Wilson, all of Griffin; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law, Anita & William Thompson of Griffin, Tina & Bob Reece of Vero Beach, FL and Gloria & Wayne Butler of Griffin; mother-in-law, Ellen & Benny Shirey of Griffin; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jean McDonald Chambley Wilson will be held Friday, Dec. 10, at 4 p.m. at West Sunnyside Community Church. Rev. Hugh Smith, Rev. Barry Jones and Rev. Lewis James will officiate. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Wilson will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service time. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, Dec. 8, and Thursday, Dec. 9, from 6-9 p.m.

Verna Patterson, age 86, of Lawrenceville, previously of Newnan, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at Medical Arts Center in Lawrenceville, Ga.

She is survived by her daughter Joyce Jones of Lawrenceville, Ga.; son Richard McKissack of Douglasville, Ga.; sisters Mary Hardy of Douglasville, Ga. and Hilda Carr of Lithia Springs, Ga.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. William Dennie Flowers Jr., 42, of Greenville, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004. Mr. Flowers was born in Copperhill, Tennessee in 1962 and settled in the Greenville area after school. Dennie loved spending time with his family and playing his guitar.
Mr. Flowers is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mrs. Sharon Flowers; two sons, Leon "JJ" Flowers Palmer and Joshua Dennie Flowers; a brother, Andy Flowers; and two granddaughters, Lexie and Hannah.

Mrs. Lucile Mitchell Summers, 96, of Turin, Ga., died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004 at her residence. A native of Fayette County, she was born June 8, 1908, the daughter of the late Thomas Claude and Virginia Buchannan Mitchell. She graduated from Fayette County High School in 1929 and attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. She had made her home in Turin since 1949. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Haynie Summers. Mrs. Summers was a member of Turin United Methodist Church. Surviving are her children, Emily Wilson and her husband Charles of Turin; son, Kelley and his wife Maxine of Colquitt, Ga. Her grandchildren are Al Summers and his wife Anita of Ellijay, Suzanne Mears and her husband Timmy of Leesburg, Ga., Kevin Wilson and Karla Wilson of Turin; great-grandchildren, Amanda Mears, Matt Mears, Savannah Summers and Abby Summers. A sister, Tommie Womble of Union City also survives her. Arrangements are being handled by McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, Ga., where the family was receiving friends from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2. Mrs. Alice M. Zorn

Mrs. Alice M. Zorn, 76, of Valdosta, Ga., died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, after a short illness. Born in Bainbridge to the late Charles and Burma Mulkey, she had lived in Valdosta for the past 18 years, and had lived in Atlanta and Bainbridge previously. Mrs. Zorn was a retired cosmetologist and the former owner of Alice's Beauty Shop in College Park, GA. She was known by her family and friends as an excellent cook and especially for her pound cakes. She was also known by her family as their beloved caretaker. She was a member of First Christian Church of Bainbridge.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, W. H. "Bud" Zorn of Valdosta; a son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Carolyn Zorn of Lincoln, IL; daughter, Glenda Zorn of Valdosta; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Don Mason of Valdosta. Also surviving are four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchilldren, four great-great-grandchildren; nephews, including Mike Mason and Robert Mason, both of Valdosta, Dr. Walter Skinner of Moreland; and two great nieces.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3 at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Pastor Nelson Grist and Dr. Walt Zorn will officiate. Jean Fort Harris, 81, of Dalton, Ga., and formerly of Hogansville, Ga., died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004. Eleanor H. Roberts, 88, of Newnan, Ga., died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004. Arrangements by McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, and Hanner Funeral Service, Atlanta, TX. Mrs. Eleanor H. Roberts, 88, of Newnan, Ga., died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004. She was the wife of the late John M. Stuckey Sr.

She is survived by her son, John M. Stuckey Jr. and his wife Sandy of Newnan, Ga.; grandchildren, John Ward Stuckey and his wife Elisa and Aaron Gaylor Stuckey Barnes and her husband Barry.
