Mrs. Laura Crockett

Mrs. Laura Elizabeth Crockett, 79, of Brian Center Nursing Care died Friday.
Mrs. Crockett, born July 22, 1918, in Heard County, was the daughter of the late John and Hattie McLain Barrett. A former resident of Roanoke, she spent most of her life in the Glenn Community, moving here two years ago. She was a member of Rock Mills United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Betty Jean Houze and Mrs. Alice Veal, both of Roanoke, Ala., and Mrs. Brenda Conley of Albany; four sons, Stewart Crockett, Mike Crockett and Ben Crockett, all of LaGrange, and Ronny Crockett of Roanoke; two sisters, Mrs. Dot Golden of Newnan and Mrs. Ethel Edge of Houston, Texas ; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Crockett, and a son, James Brannen Crockett.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange Chapel, at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road. The Rev. David Holmes will officiate with burial in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Crockett at 84 North Shore Drive and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 until 8 p.m.

Mrs. Juanita Goodson

Mrs. Mildred Juanita Peel Goodson, 69, of Franklin died Sunday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Goodson, born October 18, 1930, in Crawford County was the daughter of Mrs. Jessie Blackwell Peel of Roberta and the late Clarence Mosely Peel. She had lived in Heard County most of her life and was a retired registered nurse having been employed by Heard County Hospital in Franklin, Coweta General Hospital in Newnan, Clark Holder Clinic in the office of Dr. Mark Whitehead Jr. and the Heard County Senior Center. She was an active member of Franklin United Methodist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Hugh Goodson of Franklin; children, Pat and Larry McGrady of LaGrange, Diane and Donnie Dunlap and Budd

Mrs. Marion H. Wolfe

Mrs. Marion Howard Wolfe, 72, of Rome died Monday at her home.
Mrs. Wolfe, born June 5, 1928, in LaGrange, was the daughter of the late Rufus (Sandy) Howard and Essie Mae Dollar Howard. She was a member of the Rome First United Methodist Church and Coosa Country Club and was a champion golfer, having won a number of tournaments and championships. During World War II she played clarinet in a 75 member all girl band in LaGrange and saxophone in an all girl orchestra performing in parades and at military installations throughout the state. She was a master gardener and her yard was a certified national wildlife habitat.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Richard W. Wolfe of Rome; two sons, Richard C. Wolfe of LaGrange and Jeffry S. Wolfe of Fort Bragg, N.C.; a daughter, Rene H. Wolfe of LaGrange; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Harruff and a son, James Eric Wolfe.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Rome with the Rev. Mark Sargent officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends in the Christian Life Center of the church one hour prior to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Community Hospice Care, P.O. Box 233, Rome, Ga., 30162-0233, or to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 628, Rome, Ga. 30162-0628.
Daniel’s Funeral Home in Rome is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rebecca Kirby

Mrs. Ada Rebecca Kirby, 83, of the Oak Grove Community died Monday at Brian Center Nursing Care.
Mrs. Kirby, born June 15, 1917, in Troup County, was the daughter of the late John William and Sally Gordon Smith Tucker. She had lived here all her life and retired from International Playtex. She was a member of Oak Grove United Congregational Christian Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Echols and Linda Hart; a nephew, James (Billy) Tucker all of Pine Mountain; and a niece, Rochelle Brooks of LaGrange
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Oak Grove Cemetery with Dr. Charles F. McCook officiating.
The family will be at the home of her son and daughter-in-law at 939 Oak Grove Road and will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home.

Rev. Robert Robinson

The Rev. Robert Robinson of 205 Banks St., died Monday at his home.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Willie Mae Russell, at 115 King Arthur Drive.
Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Samuel E. Williams

Samuel E. Williams, 70, of Hogansville died Monday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Decatur.
Mr. Williams, born August 22, 1930, in Hogansville, was the son of the late James Loy and Lurline Sims Williams. He was a graduate of Hogansville High School and attended Georgia State University. He was a Navy veteran and was an All-Navy Boxing Champion.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Donna Bowen of LaGrange and Ima Pike of Hogansville; three stepsons, Leamon Hughes of LaGrange, Joel Hughes of Hogansville and Michael Hughes of Atlanta; a sister, Joyce Atterholt of Powder Springs; two brothers, Earl Williams of Meridian Miss., and Ervin Williams of Barcelona, Spain; and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville with the Rev. Rance Sprayberry officiating.
It is the family’s request that all flowers and memorials be omitted.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 Wednesday afternoon at the Claude A. McKibben & Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

A.D. Davis

A.D. Davis, 66, of 95 Teaver Road died Monday at his home.
Mr. Davis, born November 24, 1934, in Gilmer, Texas , was the son of the late David Thomas and Artie Dale Davis. He was an Air Force veteran and had lived here for 15 years. He was a former truck driver and attended Reed’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jeanette Davis; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Harold Potts, Kathy and Ron Tate and Debbie and John Yannotti, all of LaGrange; eight grandchildren; seven sisters; a brother; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Reed’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating.
The family will be at his home.
Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pearl McGuffin

Mrs. Mae Pearl McGuffin, 72, of 123 Auburn Avenue died Monday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. McGuffin, born August 9, 1928, in Tallapoosa County, Ala., was the daughter of the late James Ballard Sr. and Polly Mae Lankford Duncan. she had lived here most of her life and retired from the Shawnut Division of West Point Pepperell. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Polly Fowler and Elaine Garsee, both of LaGrange, and Gurtha and Derryl Miner Sr. of Conyers; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Frances McGuffin of LaGrange; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Shadowlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Boyd officiating.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home this evening from 6 until 8.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to Hospice LaGrange in memory of Mrs. McGuffin.
The family will be at his home.

Rev. Robert Robinson Sr.

The Rev. Robert Robinson Sr. of 205 Banks St., died Monday at his home.
The Rev. Robinson, born July 20, 1920, in Troup County, was the son of the late Henry and Lula Ferrell Robinson. He had lived here all his life and was a member of Solomon Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Willie Mae and Curtis Russell of LaGrange; four sons, the Rev. Bobby Robinson of LaGrange, the Rev. Simon and Debra Robinson of Marietta, the Rev. Robert Robinson Jr. of Carrollton and Christopher Hudson of LaGrange; a brother, Willie Robinson of West Point; three sisters and a close brother-in-law, Annie C. Delaney, Louise Scott and Sara and Billy Patterson, all of LaGrange; 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a number of nieces nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Smyrna Baptist Church on Highway 219 North with the Rev. T.L. Harris officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Willie Mae and Curtis Russell, at 115 King Arthur Drive.

William B. Johnson

William B. Johnson, 79, of Hogansville died Tuesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Johnson, born December 19, 1921, in Gay, was the son of the late William Lee and Ada Quigley Johnson. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and had lived in Hogansville since 1951 retiring from the Hogansville Housing Authority. He was a member of Hogansville Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Gray Johnson of Hogansville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Jim Talley of Dalton and Rita and Everett Howard of Pine Mountain; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Sue Johnson of Hogansville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Tavie and Johnnie Nunis of LaGrange and Patsy and Curtis Wilkes of Nashville, Tenn; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Geraldine Johnson of Austell, Jimmy and Carolyn Johnson and Doyle Johnson of LaGrange and Garin and Joyce Johnson of Stephenson, Ala; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Claude A. McKibben & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall Hodge officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 this evening.

Mrs. Audrey M. McKeen

Mrs. Audrey M. McKeen 73, of 36 Morton Drive died Tuesday at Florence Hand Home.
Mrs. McKeen, born December 11, 1927, in Ephesus, was the daughter of the late Isaac Jasper and Bessie B. Daniel Mitchell. She had lived here since 1948 and was a former employee of International Playtex. She was a member of Pine View Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Templeton of Opelika, Ala; a son, Jack McKeen of Bonaire; a sister, Daffie Woolford of Freehold, N.J.; a brother, Billy Smith of Heard County; four grandchildren, Jennifer McKeen and Brian McKeen, both of Bonaire, and Lance Templeton and Tracy Lindsay, both of Opelika, Ala.; and a great-grandson, Tristan Lindsay of Opelika.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil McKeen.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home with the Rev. Olin McClain officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 until 9 at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. McKeen.

Oliver Edwin Traylor

Oliver Edwin (Ed) Traylor, 89, of 610 Park Avenue died Wednesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Traylor, born July 6, 1911, in Randolph County, Ala., was the son of the late Silas Monroe and Willie Mae Messer Taylor. He had lived in LaGrange since 1927 and was retired from Signal Knitting Mill. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Delena Traylor; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Joyce Traylor of Riverdale and Ronald E. (Ronnie) and Sue Traylor of Hogansville; a brother and sister-in-law, C. Morris and Dorothy Traylor of Pensacola, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with the Revs. David Brackman and Max McCord officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at their home at 610 Park Ave., and will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 this evening.
Flowers will be accepted, but those desiring may make memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church in memory of Mr. Traylor.
Striffler-Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road, is in charge of arrangements.

Bennie Delaney

Bennie Delaney, a former resident of LaGrange, died in New York.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Southview Cemetery.
Family and friends are asked to assemble at the graveside.
Pollard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
