The funeral for Michael David Brooks of Loganville will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Harry L. White in Conyers. Pastor Hollis Rumble will officiate.
Born in Bibb County, Mr. Brooks, 35, died April 2, 2001.
Surviving are his wife, Susie Brooks; son, John Brooks McKinzie; daughter, Samantha Brooks, all of Loganville; mother, JoAnn Brooks of Conyers; brothers, Kent Brooks and Darrell Brooks, also of Conyers; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today from 5-8 p.m.

A.W. Dalton
The funeral for A.W. (Weidman) Dalton of Covington will be held at 11 a.m. today at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home in Covington. The Revs. Herman Goddard and Darrell Allen will officiate. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
Born in Ashburn, Mr. Dalton, 75, died April 3, 2001, at Newton General Hospital. He was the son of the late John and Isabell Gilreath Dalton. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He had been a resident of Newton County for the last 55 years and worked for Tingue Brown & Company in Atlanta. He also worked part-time for Prime America. He was a member of Gaither’s United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school.
Surviving are his wife, Lois G. Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Theron Hays of Covington; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and John Addison of Covington; brother and sister-in-law, R.L. and Idabell Dalton of Moultrie; grandchildren, Marcy and Carl Wilson of Covington and Greg and Jennifer Hays of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gaither’s United Methodist Church, 1372 Newton Factory Bridge Road, Covington, GA 30014.

James A. Hanewold
The funeral for James A. Hanewold of Covington will be held at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Ted Arrowood will officiate.
Born in Rock County, Wis., Mr. Hanewold, 75, died April 3, 2001, at Newton General Hospital. He was the son of the late Allan and Millie Johnson Hanewold. He had been a resident of Newton County since 1988, was a master craftsman woodworker and worked in construction most of his life. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during World War II from 1943-1946. He served as a bodyguard for Admiral Spurentz of the Pacific fleet.
Surviving are his daughters, Cheryl Hanewold Trieschmann of Walworth, Wis., Ella Hanewold Slowey of Janesville, Wis., Denise Hanewold Klug of Fort Atkinson, Wis., and Patti Hanewold Ogleurn of Cummings; sons, Allan L. Hanewold of Janesville, Wis., James D. Hanewold of Lawrenceville and Jerome J. Hanewold of Covington; sister, Margie Hanewold of Seattle, Wash.; 28 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Janie L. Lunsford
The funeral for Janie L. Lunsford of McDonough will be held at 3 p.m. today at The Old Country Church in McDonough. The Revs. Joe Faulkner and Neil Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, also in McDonough.
Born in Newton County, Mrs. Lunsford, 76, died April 3, 2001, at Henry Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Mamie Lou Shaddix Wilson and widow of W.C. Lunsford. She was a retired nurse.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel (Carolyn) Lunsford of McDonough; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. (Mutt) Wilson of Conyers, Mr. and Mrs. James W. Wilson of Almon, Mr. and Mrs. Perry L. Wilson of Conyers, Mr. and Mrs. Guy R. Wilson of McDonough and Ms. Louise Brown of Social Circle; granddaughter, Connie Beth Rainwater and her husband, Adam Rainwater, of McDonough; and several nieces and nephews.
J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home in Covington is in charge of the arrangements.

Paul E. Peek Jr.
The funeral for Paul Edward Peek Jr. of Lithonia will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rockdale Chapel of Horis A. Ward Funeral Home in Conyers. Dr. Murray Edwards will officiate.
Mr. Peek, 63, died April 3, 2001. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and a retired musician.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Peek; son, Paul Allen Peek of Lithonia; sisters, Libby Mineo and Jackie Peace, both of Greenville, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jadakiss D. Goosby
The graveside service for the infant Jadakiss Dovanta Goosby will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Peeks Chapel Cemetery in Conyers.
Born May 18 in Gwinnett County, Jadakiss, 2 months, died Aug. 2, 2001, at Egleston Children’s Hospital.
Surviving are his parents Tiffany Hicks and Terry Goosby, both of Covington.
The family will receive friends today from 2-4 p.m. at Harry L. White Funeral Home in Conyers.

Neil C. Gunter
The funeral for Dr. Neil C. Gunter of Conyers will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Rockdale Baptist Church. The body will lie in state for half an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Gardens in Covington.
Dr. Gunter, 67, died Aug. 3, 2001, at Rockdale Hospital. He was retired as an educator for the Georgia Department of Education and was president and owner of Neil Gunter Associates.
Surviving are his wife, Libby Gunter; daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Jim Hicks and Renee and Keith Estes, all of Conyers; mother, Ruby Gunter of McDonough; brothers, Carlton Gunter of Greensboro, N.C., Ronald Gunter and Sherrill Gunter, both of McDonough; and grandchildren, Lauren Hicks, Lyndsey Estes, Kara Estes, Erin Hicks, Kristen Hicks and Jared Estes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Rockdale Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family will receive friends today from 5-7 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Harry L. White Funeral Home in Conyers.

Robert Wayne Land Sr.
Funeral services for Robert Wayne Land Sr. or Conyers will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Horis A. Ward’s Olde Town Chapel. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta, and the Rev. Tommy Johnson will officiate.
Mr. Land was born in Fulton County on June 27, 1944, and died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001. He was 57.
A truck driver, Mr. Land was a deacon of Sunrise Baptist Church and an avid Hot Wheel collector and member of the Hot Wheel Club.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Land; daughters, Cindy Mahaffey and Candy Thompson; son, Robert Wayne Land Jr.; brothers, Paul Lamar Land and Donald Gene Land; sisters, Linda Diane Land and Joan Annette Siddon; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5-9.

Bernard Rubinoff
The funeral for Bernard (Ted) Rubinoff of Conyers, formerly of Pittsburgh, Penn., will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Rockdale Chapel of Horis A. Ward Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers.
Mr. Rubinoff, 89, died Aug. 2, 2001. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II, a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by one grandson, C.J. Fusaro.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Rubinoff; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Patricia Rubinoff of Nashville, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Frank Fusaro of Conyers; grandchildren, David and Robyn Rubinoff of Boca Raton, Fla.; Sharon and Tom Golden of Conyers; Rachelle Rubinoff of Dallas, Texas ; Greg and Holly Rubinoff of Pittsburgh, Penn.; and Laurie and Neil McDaniel of Conyers; and great-grandchildren, Sam Rubinoff, Max Rubinoff, Abigail Golden and Christopher Fusaro.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rockdale County Senior Center, Olivia Haydel Fund in care of Jackie Lunsford, 1240 Dogwood Drive, Conyers, Ga. 30012.
The family will receive friends today from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ann W. Adcock
The funeral for Ann Harriett Wood Adcock of Covington will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Roy Kiser will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers.
Mrs. Adcock, 80, died Dec. 1, 2001. She retired from BellSouth in 1976 with 30 years of employment. She was a member of BellSouth Pioneers and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Covington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Geneva Bracewell Wood and husband, George C. Adcock Sr.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and James Norton of Covington; son and daughter-in-law, George C. and Carolyn Adcock of Dacula; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sally T. James
The funeral for Sally T. James of Conyers will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Rockdale Chapel of Horis A. Ward Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Gardens in Covington.
Born in Illinois, Mrs. James, 73, died Dec. 1, 2001, in Riverdale. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucille Towne. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, John James; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Dennis Williams of Conyers; sons, John Robert James of Aiken, S.C., and Scott Towne James of San Diego, Calif.; brother, Walter Cliford Towne of Madison, Wis.; grandchildren, Bobbie J. Williams, Travis Williams and Douglas James, all of Conyers.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

William R. Dawkins Sr.
The funeral for William Roy (Dub) Dawkins Sr. of Marietta will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. The Rev. Dr. Bradley Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Born in Dublin, Mr. Dawkins 83, died Feb. 10, 2002. A Cobb County resident since 1949, he was retired from Lockheed as a manufacturing planner. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughters, Harriet Dawkins Abusaid and Dorothy Dawkins Boyd, both of Marietta; sons, Harrill Lewis Dawkins of Monticello and William Roy Dawkins Jr. of Conyers; nine grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Sea-Aira Draper
The funeral for the infant Sea-Aira Draper will be held at 11 a.m. today at Cornish Mountain Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bill Stafford will officiate.
Born in Rockdale County, Sea-Aira, 4 months, died Feb. 10, 2002.
Surviving are her parents, Marie Draper and Jason Meeler, both of Jersey; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Meeler, also of Jersey, and Tim and Elaine Palmer; maternal grandparents, Buddy and Lisa Draper; maternal great-grandparents, Barney and Jimmie Draper, all of Covington; and paternal great-grandparents, Thurston and Linnie Meeler of Lilburn.

Martha S. Jones
The funeral for Martha M. Stephenson Jones of Covington will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Covington. The Revs. Len Strozier and J.J. Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
Born in Pike County, Mrs. Jones, 88, died Feb. 10, 2002. She was the daughter of the late James Emmett and Lucy Manley Milner and widow of W. Clyde Jones. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Timkovich, and a grandson, Stephen Timkovich. A resident of Covington for the past 30 years, she was a member of First Baptist Church and sang in the sanctuary choir for many years. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of Iris and Hemorocalis societies.
Surviving are her children, Virginia and Robert Whitehead of Cumming, Jack and Elizabeth Stephenson of Covington, Barbara and Robert Nowell of Lawrenceville, Anita Maloney of Hanover, Penn., Helen Jean and Frank Graham of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Lynda and Rocky Lane of Canton; sister, Vivan Callaway of Hoganville; brother, Edward Lee Milner of Crawfordville; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
Those who wish may make donations in her name to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 1139 Usher St., Covington, GA 30014.
The family will receive friends today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home in Covington.

Bev Schreckengost
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bev Schreckengost will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road in Roswell.
Mrs. Schreckengost died Feb. 10, 2002, after an extended illness.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Lee Schreckengost; children, Sheri Schreckengost and Steve Schreckengost; brothers, James Singer, Dwight Singer and Tom Neely; sisters, Alyce Burton, Grace Dietz, Virginia Smith, Carol Seeley and Jane Williams; grandchildren, Garrett Starks, Myles and Chase Schreckengost.

Jackson B. Kirkus
The funeral for Jackson Barrett Kirkus, 17 months old, of Conyers will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Douglas Nelms, the Rev. Billy Lewis and Dr. Rickey Brantley will officiate. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery in Covington.
Born in Rockdale County, Jackson Barrett died May 31, 2002, at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston Hospital in Atlanta.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Melissa and David Heckathorn of Conyers; father and stepmother, David and Carissa Kirkus of Athens; brother, Addison Kirkus of Conyers; maternal grandparents, Cindy and Lewis Webb of Covington and Leslie Smith of Daytona Beach, Fla.; paternal grandparents, Deborah Anderson of Covington and Randy Kirkus and Betty Covington of Berkley Lake; maternal great-grandparents, Shirley and Roy Watson of Covington and Marguerita Smith of Daytona Beach, Fla.; paternal great-grandparents, Warren and Elizabeth Kirkus, Dorothy and Alva Browning, all of Covington and Harold and Donna Anderson of Oxford; and aunts and uncles, Jennifer Smith of Covington, Wesley Webb, Taylor Webb, both of Conyers and Troup and Jessica Kirkus of Quantico, Va.

Born in Elmore County, Ala., Mrs. Skinner, 86, died May 31, 2002, at Rockdale Hospital.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, J.R. and Jessie Simpson of Greenville, N.C.; brother, Morris Estes; sister, Doris Morgan, both of Alabama; grandchildren, Tom Watson and Pat Best; great-grandchild, Brandon Pollard; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Highland Park Baptist Church on Irwin Bridge Road in Conyers.
Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. today at the church.

The graveside service for Gerald (Jerry) Tomlin of Covington was held Friday at New Covington Cemetery. The Rev. Frank Norris officiated.
Born in Newton County, Mr. Tomlin, 58, died May 29, 2002. He was the son of the late Roy Tomlin, and he was retired from the State of Georgia.
Surviving are his mother, Allie Pearl Ivey Tomlin of Covington; brother, Benny Tomlin of Mansfield; and nieces and nephews.
