Catherine R. Densieski
Catherine R. Densieski, 85, of Covington died June 3, 2002. She was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a member of the Alter Rosary Society of St. Isidores in Riverhead, N.Y. She farmed for 50 years on her family farm. Her funeral will be held in Southhampton, N.Y.
Mrs. Densieski was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Edmund Densieski. She is survived by her son, Edmund Densieski Jr. of East Quogue, N.Y.; daughters, Ingrid F. Buck of Covington and Regina D. Schaefer of East Quogue, N.Y.; an aunt, Ameila Franshoe of Debany, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Esther Graham
The funeral for Esther Graham of Decatur was held Wednesday at the Rockdale Chapel of Horis A. Ward Funeral Home. The Revs. Jack Ballard and Ken Pew officiated. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta.
Born in Murray County, Mrs. Graham, 84, died June 3, 2002. She was employed as a tax clerk with Georgia Department of Revenue.
Surviving are her son, Ricky Graham of Covington; sister, Cynthia Jordan of Tucker; sisters-in-law, Elsie Hinds of Atlanta and Sam Harl of Tucker.

Howard D. Shumake
The funeral for Howard Dean Shumake of Lithonia will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Henry Funeral Home in Lithonia. Dr. Jim Martin will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Born in Jackson County, Mr. Shumake, 47, died June 4, 2002, at Rockdale Hospital. He owned and operated HDS Heavy Equipment Service Inc.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Leftwich Shumake; sons, Howard D. Shumake Jr. of Decatur, Darryl Shumake, Troy Mealor, both of Covington, and Kevin Shumake of Conyers; daughter, Stacey Maple of Conyers; mother, Arie Collins of Lithonia; brother, Howell Shumake of Lithonia; six grandchildren; stepbrothers; stepsisters; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today from noon-3 and 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frank Wesner
A memorial service for Frank Wesner of Conyers was held Saturday at the chapel of St. Pius X Catholic Church with Father Michael Heninger officiating. Surviving are his son Henry Wesner, also of Conyers; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Interment was held at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers following the service. Harry L. White Funeral Home in Conyers was in charge of the arrangements.

Deloris Anthony
The funeral for Deloris Anthony of Covington will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shiloh United Methodist Church. The Revs. Mike Nickolich and Royeese Stowe will officiate. Interment will follow at Covington Mill Cemetery.
Born in Newton County, Mrs. Anthony, 70, died Aug. 8, 2002. She was a homemaker and the daughter of the late Clarence and Vera T. Hawkins Morgan. She was predeceased by her sister, Kathryn McCullough.
Surviving are her husband, Owen H. Anthony Jr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Owen H. (Jennie) Anthony III, Mr. and Mrs. Danny C. (Jean) Anthony, Mr. Kenneth Anthony and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur S. (Linda) Anthony, all of Covington; sister, Mrs. Ulah Lee Owens of Covington; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shiloh UMC Building Fund, 10 Almon Church Road, Covington, GA 30014.
J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Amanda C. Conner
The funeral for Amanda Celeste Conner of Stockbridge will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Hills Baptist Church. Pastor Joe Hughes will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Born in DeKalb County, Miss Conner, 21, died Aug. 8, 2002, at Rockdale Hospital. She was a 1999 graduate of Heritage High School, where she was also an honor student. She attended Valdosta State and Andrew College and was active in sports there.
Surviving are her parents, Loran and Mary Jane Conner; brother, Adam Conner of Stockbridge; grandparents, Harvey and Dolores Conner of Stockbridge and Ann Y. Arrington of Lithonia; aunts, Lynne Burnett of Stockbridge and Sue Reese of Conyers; uncle, Ed Arrington of Conyers; and several cousins.
Memorial gifts may be made to Georgia Cancer Fund, 11 Dunwoody Park Drive, Suite 120, Dunwoody, GA 30338.
The family will receive friends today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Rockdale Chapel of Horis A. Ward Funeral Home.

Stevie A. Freeman
The memorial service for Stevie Allen Freeman of Covington will be held at 4 p.m. today at Christian Life Center in Covington. Dr. Doyle West will officiate.
Mr. Freeman, 48, died Aug. 7, 2002. He was retired as a self-employed carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy Freeman; son, Jeremy Freeman; and daughter, Amanda L. Freeman, all of Covington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Abbey Hospice, 10920 U.S. 278 East, Covington, GA 30014.

Raphael A. Berrios
Raphael A. Berrios, 61, of Conyers died Oct. 9, 2002. Services will be held at Dovin Funeral Home in Corian, Ohio. He was born icon in Comerio, Puerto Rico. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, 135 Bradford Square, Suite B, Fayetteville, GA 30215.

Margaret P. Hamby
The funeral for Margaret Peggy Hamby of Conyers will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the chapel of Harry L. White Funeral Home. Pastor Tracey Puckett will officiate. Interment will follow at East View Cemetery.
Born in Randolph, Ala., Mrs. Hamby, 70, died Oct. 10, 2002, at her residence.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Calvin Hamby Sr.; son, Calvin L. Hamby Jr. of Conyers; daughters, Ginger Yates of Conyers, Cheryl Smith of Stockbridge and Angela Padgett of Griffin; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Nellie Hindman
The funeral for Nellie Hindman of Atlanta will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Fairview Chapel of Horis A. Ward Funeral Home in Stockbridge. The Rev. Steve Bingham will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Born in Fulton County, Mrs. Hindman, 78, died Oct. 9, 2002.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirley Whidby of Conley; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Betty Veal of Forest Park; grandchildren, Debra Murphy of Conyers, Denise Daw of Conyers, Cheryl Whidby of Conley and Jami Daw of Jacksonville; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jason Murphy of Conyers, Ashley and Michael Long, Laura Farmer, all of Conyers, and Rachel and William Daw of Jacksonville; and nephew Chuck and Brian Veal of Forest Park.
The family will receive friends today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Victor Landino
The funeral for Victor Landino of Covington will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Covington. Father John Howern will officiate. Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery.
Born in Cambria County, Mr. Landino, 75, died Oct. 9, 2002, at Newton General Hospital. He was the son of the late Silvio and Arvella Owen Landino and widower of Mary Allendorfer Landino. Formerly of Tomball, Texas , he had been a resident of Covington for the past 13 years. He was retired from the Houston Post in Houston, Texas , and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Covington. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Newton County Community Band and Newton General Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Bruce Gilbert of Tomball, Deborah and Mike Preston of Covington, Victoria and Bud Arnold of Azle, Texas , and Rebecca and Keil Albers of Houston; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Landino of Tomball, Kevin and Colleen Landino of Richardson, Texas , and Bryan and Peggy Landino of Houston; brother, Silvio Landino of Macungie, Penn.; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6-9 at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home in Covington.

James T. McGiboney
The funeral for James T. (Red) McGiboney of Covington will be held at 3 p.m. today at Oxford Baptist Church. The Rev. Sean Nix will officiate. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
A lifetime resident of Newton County, Mr. McGiboney, 70, died Oct. 9, 2002. He retired in 1983 from General Motors. He had been employed as a forklift driver. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Oxford Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and choir member. He was a member of Golden Fleece No. 6 Masonic Lodge and Alcovy Shrine Club. He was the chaplain for Newton County Sheriff’s Office and was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances Smith McGiboney.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie W. McGiboney; son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Sandra McGiboney of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Greg East of Covington, Greta and Doug McCart of Brooklet; sister, Vickie Swilly of Monticello; brothers, Robert (Buddy) McGiboney and Ronnie McGiboney, both of Covington; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oxford Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 128, Oxford, GA 30054.

Marie O. Maloney
The funeral for Marie Ozburn Maloney of Covington will be held at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home in Covington. The Revs. Dickie Johnson and Bill Cagle will officiate. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
Born in Jasper County, Mrs. Maloney, 82, died Oct. 9, 2002, at Covington Manor. She was the daughter of the late James Henry and Corrie Mary Red Ozburn and the widow of Arthur Hugh Maloney. She moved to Porterdale in 1924 and lived most of her live in Newton County. She was a lifelong member of Porterdale Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Wayne and Carol Maloney of Covington; sister, Lucille Bowles of Covington; and grandchildren, Sharon and Richard Noble and Luther Maloney, all of Dunwoody.

Yvonne McCord
The funeral for Yvonne McCord of Mansfield will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the chapel of Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home in Covington. Pastor Howard Greer will officiate. Interment will follow at Carmel Cemetery in Mansfield.
Born in Tazewell County, Va., Mrs. McCord, 58, died Oct. 10, 2002, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. She was the daughter of the late Elmo Shrader and had been a resident of Mansfield for the past 40 years. Her hobbies were sewing and embroidering.
Surviving are her husband, Jimmy McCord; daughters and sons-in-law, Yvette and Keith Green of Mansfield and Bonnie and Jerry O’Dell of Conyers; mother, Katherine Barker of Decatur; sister, Jeanette Parker of Mansfield; brothers, James Shrader of Conyers, Wayne Shrader of Mansfield and David Shrader of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Reuben L. Whisnante
The funeral for Reuben L. Whisnante of Mansfield will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Covington with remains placed in state at 10 a.m. The Rev. Royeese Stowe, the Rev. Don Hardison and Mr. Ronald Stone will officiate. Interment will follow at Shoals Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Newborn.
Mr. Whisnante, 55, died Oct. 9, 2002. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Edward Whisnante.
Surviving are his wife, Susan Barnes Whisnante; daughter and son-in-law, Kye W. and Chris Haymore; son and daughter-in-law, Kasey and Keeli Smith Whisnante; mother, Lillian Elliott Whisnante; sister, Victoria W. Ozburn; brother, Alvin E. Whisnante; grandson, Charles Warthen Haymore, all of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home in Covington.

Ruth B. Lassiter
The funeral for Ruth Butler Lassiter of Covington will be held at 11 a.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church in Covington. Dr. Billy Wade will officiate. Interment will follow at Covington City Cemetery.
A native and lifetime resident of Newton County, Mrs. Lassiter, 84, died Dec. 17, 2002, at Newton General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Carl Butler and Dora Bryant. She received training and became downtown Covington’s first certified beautician. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 56 years and was an honorary life member of Presbyterian Women, PC (USA.) She taught Sunday school in all junior and senior classes; served as circle chairwoman, often leading a Women’s Circle; and taught Bible school for many summers. She was a Cub Scout den mother and worked with many Cub Scouts who are today prominent citizens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Building Fund, First Presbyterian Church, 1169 Clark St. N.W., Covington, GA 30014.

Terry W. Reid Sr.
The memorial service for Terry Wayne Reid Sr. of Conyers will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Stone Mountain Chapel of Wages & Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Curtis Allbritten will officiate.
Mr. Reid, 51, died Dec. 18, 2002, at his residence. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Mamie Reid; son and daughter-in-law, Terry Reid Jr. and Sara Collins of Conyers; mother, Flora Mae Reid of Covington; grandsons, Nicholas Reid and Cameron Reid; granddaughters, Taylor Reid and Ariel Collins, all of Conyers; three sisters; and six brothers.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today at the Reid residence.
