WARTHEN - Services for Newman Lee Lewis Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Lang's Chapel Funeral Home, Sandersville, with burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Lewis, 71, died Thursday, March 2, 2000. Born in Washington County, he was the son of the late Newman Lee Sr. and Louise Frazier Lewis. A former employee of The Cypress Kaolin Co., he was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include his children, Joann Brantley of Harrison, Patricia Heightmen of Washington , and Donald Lewis and Jimmy Lewis, both of Tennille; sisters and brothers, Marie Waters of Sandersville, Scarlett L. Neal of Senoia, Kenneth Lewis of Warthen, Cecil Lewis of Tennille and Sterling Lewis of Linton.

The family may be contacted at 1461 Thompson Road and will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. The family requests donations to Union Baptist Church.

Kenyata Lucas
ROBERTA - Services for Kenyata Denise Lucas will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Crawford County Middle School Auditorium, with burial in Lucas Cemetery, Reynolds. Lucas, 11, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000. A sixth-grader at Crawford County Middle School, she was involved in basketball and track. She was a member of White Hill Baptist Church and sang in the junior choir.

Survivors include her parents, Gary and Patricia Lucas; sisters, Breyata Lucas and Danielle Lucas, both of Roberta; grandparents, Andrew and Bernice Lucas and J.D. and Mary Nell Dugger, all of Roberta; great-grandmother, Mollie Rall of Forsyth.

The body may be viewed at Bentley Funeral Home in Reynolds from 10 a.m. Friday until noon Saturday. The family may be contacted at 3473 Hwy. 128.

Ottis McRae
LUMBER CITY - Services for Ottis McRae will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Calvary CME Church with burial in the church cemetery. McRae, 82, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000. Born in Telfair County, he was the son of the late Rufus and Alice McRae. He was retired. He was a member of Mount Calvary CME Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ophelia McRae; children, Artis McRae Jr. of Bedford Heights, Ohio, and Charley Brown of Lumber City; stepchildren, Willie Duncan of Lumber City and Samuel Duncan of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Robert McRae of McRae; five stepchildren; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A.L. Spaulding Funeral Home in McRae has charge of arrangements.

Robert Nedd
COCHRAN - Services for Robert Nedd will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Mount Zion Baptist Church with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Nedd, 59, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000. Born in Bleckley County, he was the son of the late Rev. G.N. Nedd. He was a driver for the Cochran solid waste department and was a former member of Cochran-Bleckley County Fire Department. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Flossie Nedd of Cochran; children, Terry Pitts of Dodge County, Ambus Pitts, Robert Nedd II and Isaac Nedd, all of Cochran; mother, Virginia Nedd of Macon; sisters and brother, Virginia Parnell of Macon, Ruby Thomas of Oakland, Calif., and Calvin Nedd of Washington , D.C.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Jerry Howard Funeral Home and may be contacted at the Nedd residence, Ash Street, Cochran.

John Powell
COCHRAN - Services for John Charles "Charlie" Powell will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Unadilla United Methodist Church with burial in Walnut Cemetery. Powell, 72, died Thursday, March 2, 2000. Born in Plant City, Fla., he was the son of the late T.J. and Lula Crumpler Powell. A Navy veteran, he lived in Unadilla for 52 years before moving to Cochran. He was retired from Robin Air Force Base as avionics maintenance manager. He was a member of Unadilla United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Proctor; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Barry NeSmith of Cochran; brother and sisters, Jack Powell Jr. of Atlanta, Dolores Tyal of Anderson, S.C., and Carolyn Haynsworth of Plant City, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Bowen-NeSmith Funeral Home, Unadilla. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Unadilla United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 328, Unadilla 31091, or the Hospice of Central Georgia, P.O. Box 6533, Macon 31208.

Jasper Rawlins
LAKE CITY, Fla. - Services for Jasper Correll Rawlins will be at 10 a.m. today in North Lake City Church of God with burial at 3 p.m. in Sandhill Methodist Church Cemetery, McRae. Rawlins, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000. A Navy veteran of World War II, he had lived in Lake City for 40 years. He was a member of North Lake City Church of God.

Survivors include his children, Fred Rawlins of Mesa, Ariz., and James Mathis Rawlins, Johnny Sue Marcum and John Rawlins, all of Lake City; brother and sister, Billy Rawlins of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Mertis Bass and Mildred Rawlins, both of Dublin; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Biggs Funeral Home in Lake City has charge of arrangements, and Vaughn Funeral Home in McRae has charge of local arrangements.

Bertha Scott
DUBLIN - Services for Bertha Smallwood Scott will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Northview Cemetery. Scott died Thursday, March 2, 2000. Born in Jones County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Laura Moore Smallwood. A resident of Laurens County for most of her life, she was a member of the Assembly of God Church. The widow of H.O. "Bill" Scott, she was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Polly S. Harden of Dublin; grandchildren, Shane Harden, Tony Harden, Angel Knight, Ann Scott and Rickey Scott, all of Dublin; and six great-grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at 218 Lassiter Drive and will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home from 6 to 8 tonight.

R.C. Sheffield
ATLANTA - Services for R.C. Sheffield will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Oak Grove Baptist Church, Americus, with burial in New Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Sheffield, 68, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000. Born in Sumter County, he was the son of the late Joe Sheffield. He was retired from Atlanta Baking Co.

Survivors include his children, Renee Sheffield, Margaree Morgan, Robert Charles Sheffield, Nathaniel Sheffield, Larry Sheffield, Northa Sheffield and Inez Sheffield, all of New Jersey, Dedra Sheffield of Atlanta, Peaches Harris of Florida and Belinda Perry of Alpha Spring, Fla.; mother, Mattie Lee McKenzie of DeSoto; brothers and sisters, Simmie L. Floyd, Willie C. McKenzie, Jessie McKenzie and Rosa McKenzie, all of DeSoto, Henry Lee McKenzie and Mamie R. McCrary, both of Leslie; companion, Linda Killings of Atlanta; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren;

Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Barney Williamson
LYONS - Services for Barney Colon Williamson will be at 3 p.m. today in Lyons Freewill Baptist Church with burial in Williamson Cemetery. Williamson, 74, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000. Born in Toombs County, he lived most of his life in Toombs and Emanuel counties and was a retired carpenter and farmer. A member of Lyons Freewill Baptist Church, he served on several church committees.

Survivors include his wife, Lade Moore Williamson; children, Ronnie Paradise, Joe Williamson and Debbie Eragon, all of Lyons, Wanda Cato of Watkinsville, and Barney Williamson of Vidalia; sisters and brother, Juanita McNeal, Peggy Jones and Joe Williamson, all of Lyons, Georgia Wyatt of Houston, Texas , and Patsy Meeks of Vidalia; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Murchison Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Willie Armstrong
SANDERSVILLE - Services for Willie Armstrong will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Jordan Station AME Church, Tennille, with burial in the church cemetery. Armstrong, 72, died Monday, June 5, 2000, at his residence.

Survivors include his children Willie Armstrong, Virgil Armstrong, Pinkie Armstrong, Iris Armstrong, Larry Armstrong, the Rev. Frederick Armstrong and Dannie Armstrong, all of Atlanta; brothers and sisters, Arthur Armstrong, Joseph Armstrong, Mary Lyman and Geneva Armstrong, all of Sandersville, Annie Harris and Lillie Collins, both of Lorain, Ohio, and Gertrude Haynes of Hempstead, N.Y.; and 15 grandchildren.

M.C. Smith Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

George Bean
SANDERSVILLE - Services for George Mack Bean will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sandersville United Methodist Church with burial in Washington Memorial Park. Bean, 65, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at his residence. Son of the late Arley Clarence Bean and Velma Blankenship, he was a retired funeral director and former co-owner of Clarksville Funeral Home. He was the former owner of Medical Equipment Rental Services and worked in marketing at Jet Food Stores. He was a former member and choir director of McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church and was a member of Sandersville United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the adult choir and Prime Timers senior choir.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Phelps Bean; children Marianne Whitehouse and David M. Bean, both of Clarksville, and Byron A. Bean of Bethesda, Md.; stepchildren Clint Hancock and Cliff Hancock, both of Sandersville; sister, Pauline McDonough of Clarksville; several grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today in May and Smith Funeral Home and may be contacted at 403 Ridgeland Drive. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 632, Sandersville 31082.

James Braziel
LYONS - Services for James H. Braziel will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with burial in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, near Vidalia. Braziel, 77, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College, received a bachelor of science in agriculture education and master's and education specialist degrees from the University of Georgia. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was an agriculture teacher, retired from Toombs Central High School after 26 years. He was vice president of the Georgia Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association and holds an honorary Georgia planter degree and American Farmer degree. He was inducted as a charter member of the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame. He was a member of Lyons First United Methodist Church, was treasurer for several years, member of the administrative board and was charter member of the John Furst Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Braziel; children, Debbie Pope of Waycross and Dr. James H. Braziel of Dublin; sisters and brother, Ruby Henson of Greenville, S.C., Ana Watkins of Atlanta, Lenoir Rawlins of Jacksonville, Fla., Aurelia Marshall of Rochelle and Delano Braziel of Pitts; and seven grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lyons First United Methodist Church. Jones-Stewart Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Alfred Bromfield Sr.
ELLAVILLE - Services for Alfred Bromfield Sr. will be private. Bromfield, 80, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Costella Bromfield; and son, Alfred Bromfield Jr. of Ellaville.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel.

Charles Cobb
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Services for Charles A. "Chuck" Cobb will be at 11 a.m. today in Macon Memorial Park. Cobb, 20, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at his residence. Born in Groton, Conn., he lived in Macon several years before moving to Jacksonville. He was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include his parents, Claude Steven and Brenda Lee Cobb of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother and sister, Jeremiah S. Cobb of Centerville and Chenoa D. Cobb of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandparents, Johnnie C. Cobb and Billy F. Lee of Macon, and Willa Dean McLemore of Knoxville, Ga.; and great-grandparent, O.O. McClendon of Macon.
