DETROIT - Services for Ruthie M. Stubbs Coleman will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Fellowship Bible Baptist Church with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Coleman died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000.

Survivors include her daughter, Katherine Pullen of Detroit; brother and sisters Willie Stubbs of Warner Robins, Gladys Davis of Macon and Ruby Vining of Lizella; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at 6309 Glen Holly Drive, Lizella. James H. Cole Funeral Home in Detroit and Richardson and Son Funeral Home in Warner Robins have charge of arrangements.

Vera Evans
CORDELE - Services for Vera Evans will be at 4 p.m. today in Dekle Funeral Home with burial in Sunnyside Cemetery. Evans, 90, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000. She was a seamstress, retired from Cordele Uniform Co.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Evans of Cordele.

Bertha Grainger
HORTENSE - Services for Bertha Mae Ray Grainger will be at 2 p.m. today in Miles Funeral Home, Hazlehurst, with burial in Philadelphia Methodist Cemetery, Jeff Davis County. Grainger, 99, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at her residence. She was born in Jeff Davis County, daughter of the late Richard D. and Rebecca Morris Ray. The widow of Napolian Grainger, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Delmus Ray of Hortense; grandchildren, Robert Ray of Brunswick, James Ray of Tacoma, Wash., Julie Trent of Richmond, Va., and Rhonda Felice of Cleveland, Ohio; and nine great-grandchildren.

Ophelia Harper
Services for Ophelia Harper will be at noon today in Moody Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Zebulon. Harper, 71, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in a local hospital. She was raised in Zebulon and was a longtime resident of Jones County. She was a retired business owner in Macon.

Survivors include her children, William T. Mercer of Warner Robins and Randy Harper of Macon; grandchildren, Ronnie Littleton of Savannah, Thomas D. Mercer of Warner Robins and R. Ray Littleton; and five great-grandchildren.

Moody Funeral Home in Zebulon has charge of arrangements.

Margarette Haywood
BUTLER - Services for Margarette Adams Haywood will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Butler United Methodist Church with burial in Butler Memorial Cemetery. Haywood, 89, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000. A lifelong resident of Taylor County, she was retired from the Taylor County Neighborhood Service Center. She was a member of Butler United Methodist Church, Ladies Bible Class of Butler United Methodist Church, Personhood Circle of Butler United Methodist Women, Taylor Made Club and Garden Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Wadsworth of Columbus; sister, Lucille Gresham of Macon; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Edwards Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Butler United Methodist Church.

James Horne
PERRY - Services for James Spencer Horne will be private. Horne died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, in Atlanta. Born in Perry, he was a former resident of Villa Rica and graduate of Perry High School. A Baptist, he was an electrician retired from Crown, Cork and Seal.

Survivors include his wife, Betsy Horne; parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Horne Sr. of Perry; and sister and brother, Elaine Horne of Duluth and Wayne Horne of Kathleen.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.

Mary Joiner
SWAINSBORO - Services for Mary Duckworth Joiner will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary with burial at 2:30 p.m. in Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah. Joiner, 76, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000. A homemaker, she was a former kindergarten teacher and member of Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Joiner; daughter, Brenda J. Strock of Charleston, S.C.; sister and brother, Rita Cantrell of Millen and Thurman Duckworth of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1899 Central Ave., Augusta 30904-5739.

William King
Services for William E. King will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Crest Lawn Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park. King, 78, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000. An Army veteran of World War II, he received a Purple Heart. He was a firefighter, retired from the Macon Fire Department after 37 years of service. He was a member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lois King; children Linda Avant, William A. King and Donna Faye King, all of Macon; stepdaughter, Linda Boutwell of Atlanta; sister, Alma King Walton of Macon; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home and may be contacted at 764 Winchester Circle.

Eugenia Lacey
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Services for Eugenia Shoates Lacey will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Lacey, 66, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at her residence. She was born in Macon, daughter of the late James and Marie Sherman Shoates. A Baptist, she was a retired self-employed caterer.

Survivors include her children William M. Lacey Jr., Shara A. Long and Cynthia E. Long, all of Chattanooga, Michael R. Lacey Sr. of Illinois and Brenda F. Glenn of Macon; brother, Leon Coley; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at 142 Madison St. Hutchings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Roger Lewis
MILLEDGEVILLE - Services for Roger Lewis will be at 1 p.m. Monday in County Line Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Lewis died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000. He was retired from Engelhard.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Lewis; children Kelvin Cannon, Emory Cannon, Kimberly Parks, Tarian Greene and Ashley Lewis, all of Milledgeville, and Roger Sanders of Gordon; sisters, Cora Adside of Gordon, and Rosa Kelly and Mary Spearman, both of Orange, N.J.

Slater's Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Arvester Murphy
Services for Arvester Davis Murphy will be at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Luke Baptist Church with burial in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. Murphy, 80, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000. She worked for the Holst Beall family for many years. She was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Hattie Bell Brantley; sisters and brother, Mittie Ates-Cochran, Easter M. Hughes, Velma Coley, Ola Mae Davis, all of Macon, and Willie B. Davis of Unadilla; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Glover Memorial Mortuary.

Carey Newton
FORSYTH - Services for Carey Lynwood Newton will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Newton, 65, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000. He was a dairy farmer.

Survivors include his sisters and brother, Myrtice Ivey, Jane Ivey, Allene Bush, Louise Maddox, Dorothy Newton, Raymond Newton and Robert Newton, all of Forsyth.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to Carousel House, 99 N. Church St., Forsyth.

Bertie Osborne Jr.
WARNER ROBINS - Services for Bertie C. "Bert" Osborne Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Monday in McCullough Funeral Home with burial in Westview Cemetery. Osborne, 63, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000. He was born in Davisboro, son of the late Bertie C. Osborne Sr. and Nellie B. Osborne. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War, he was retired from the Air Force as a special purpose vehicle mechanic. He was also an equipment specialist, retired from Robins Air Force Base.

Survivors include his wife, Marcelyn E. Osborne; children Larry Osborne of Kathleen, Mike Osborne of Warner Robins and Cathy Vinson of Milledgeville; sisters and brother Kathleen Ogletree, Christine Osborne and John Osborne, all of Union Point; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Evelyn Page
VIDALIA - Services for Evelyn Carter Page will be at 3 p.m. today in Murchison Funeral Home with burial in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Page, 62, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000. A homemaker, she was the widow of Dailey Page. She was a member of Evangel Christian Center.

Survivors include her children Linda Edge, Randy Page and Tim Page, all of Lyons, Sherry Williamson and Mark Page, both of Vidalia, Jimmy Page of Savannah and David Page of Brunswick; sister, Doris Green of Brunswick; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

Virginia Sapp
AMERICUS - Services for Virginia May Sapp will be at 2 p.m. today in Fort Valley United Methodist Church with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Sapp, 86, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000. Born in Owensboro, Ky., she was a missionary and schoolteacher at World Gospel Missions. She was a member of Lee Street Methodist Church.

Survivors include her brother, the Rev. L.G. Sapp of Fort Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to World Gospel Missions, P.O. Box 948, Marion, Ind. 46952-0948. Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley has charge of arrangements.
