Otis Perry Jr.
MCINTYRE - Services for Otis Perry Jr. will be at 11 a.m. today at the C.D. Dudley Memorial Chapel, Dublin, with burial in Spring Hill Church Cemetery. Perry, 61, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000. A native of Laurens County, he was the son of Ethel Pritchett and the late Otis Perry Sr. He was a carpenter.

Survivors include his mother, Ethel Pritchett of Opa-Locka, Fla.; stepfather Arthur Lee Pritchett of Opa-Locka, Fla.; daughter Dorothy Holliman of Dublin; son, Ricky Perry of Atlanta; and three grandchildren.

Holland Pierce
COOPERS - Services for Holland Etheridge Pierce will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Moores Funeral Home, Milledgeville, with burial in Coopers Cemetery. Pierce, 88, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000. A native of Coopers, he was a graduate of Georgia Military High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a former justice of the peace. He was the owner/operator of Pierce Grocery and the widower of Nan Ham Pierce.

Survivors include his sons, Steve Pierce and Richard Pierce, both of Coopers; sister, Evelyn Martin of Macon; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Spurgeon Pounds
MILLEDGEVILLE - Services for Spurgeon Ellis Pounds will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with burial in Baldwin Memorial Gardens. Pounds, 77, died Sunday, August 13, 2000. A native of Hancock County, he had lived in Milledgeville most of his life and was the son of the late Spurgeon Franklin and Willie Pearl Smith Pounds. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and a former chaplain of Rivers State Prison. He was the former owner of Midway Cab Co. and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife Carrie B. Collins Pounds; children Madelyn Chalker and Kevin Pounds, both of Mitchell, Sheela Pounds, Jan Dominy, James Pounds, all of Milledgeville; sister Gladys Pounds of Milledgeville; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Williams White Columns Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Avion Riggins
Graveside services for Avion Riggins will be at 11 a.m. today at Mount Zion Baptist Church No. 1 in Twiggs County. Riggins, an infant, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in a local hospital.

Survivors include his parents, Allen and De'Beatrice Riggins Jr.; and grandparents, Allen and Brenda Riggins Sr. and Johnny B. and Edith Hill.

The family will receive friends at 2050 Old Clinton Road, Apt. N-3. Hutchings Funeral Homes has charge of arrangements.

Snelling Roberts
PINEHURST - Services for Snelling Roberts will be held at 11 a.m. today in Pinehurst Baptist Church, with burial in Pinehurst City Cemetery. Roberts, 91, died Sunday, August 13, 2000. A native of Dooly County, he was the son of the late George Roberts, Sr. and Effie Snelling Roberts. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of the 8th Air Force Historical Society. He was a former member of the Pinehurst Board of Education and the Dooly County Board of Education. He was a member of Pinehurst Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and former Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Roberts; children, Bill Roberts of Reseda, Calif., Patsy Ponder of Lilburn, Carol Yeager of Newnan, Diane Cooper of Tampa, Fla., and Mary Branch of Pinehurst; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pinehurst Baptist Church, P.O. Box 157, Pinehurst, Ga. 31070, or to the donor's favorite charity. Bowen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna has charge of the arrangements.

Snelling Roberts
PINEHURST - Services for Snelling Roberts will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pinehurst Baptist Church, with burial in Pinehurst City Cemetery. Roberts, 91, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in a local hospital. A lifelong resident of Dooly County, he was the son of the late George William Roberts Sr. and Effie Snelling Roberts. He was a member of Pinehurst Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a former Sunday school teacher. Roberts was a former member of the Pinehurst Board of Education and the Dooly County Board of Education. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of the 8th Air Force Historical Society.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn W. Roberts of Pinehurst; children, Bill Roberts of Reseda, Calif., Patsy R. Ponder of Lilburn, Carol R. Yeager of Newnan, Diane R. Cooper of Tampa, Fla., and Mary R. Branch of Pinehurst; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 tonight at Bowen-NeSmith Funeral Home, Vienna. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pinehurst Baptist Church, P.O. Box 157, Pinehurst 31070, or to the donor's choice.

Elma Robinson
MONTEZUMA - Services for Elma Robinson will be at 2 p.m. today at Brown Chapel Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Robinson, 79, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000. A native of Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Limon Brown and the late Louise Riley Brown. She was a member of Brown Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Oscar McDonald of Montezuma and Sammie Robinson of Americus; sister and brothers, Dollie Felton of Americus, and Warren Brown Sr. and Clifford Brown, both of Marshallville; and three grandchildren.

West's Mortuary, Montezuma, has charge of arrangements.

Mark David Shepler
MILLEDGEVILLE - Services for Mark David Shepler will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Moores Funeral Home, with burial in Black Springs Church Cemetery. Shepler, 43, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000. A native of Indianapolis, Ind., he moved to Milledgeville in 1968. He was employed by McGaw Laboratories and W.F. Jackson Construction Co.

Survivors include his wife, Polly Garrett Shepler of Milledgeville; stepchildren, Josh Youmans and Jason Youmans, both of Milledgeville; mother, Helen Shepler of Milledgeville; and brother, Mike Shepler of Milledgeville.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Moores Funeral Home.

Edna Turpin
CRAWFORD COUNTY - Services for Edna Pauline Turpin will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Society Hill Baptist Church with burial in Little Union Church Cemetery. Turpin, 64, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000. A native of Banks County, she was a member of Society Hill Baptist Church and a retired employee of Bassett Furniture.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd F. Turpin; daughter Wanda Turpin of Crawford County; sister Lou Mills of Toccoa; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Rooks Funeral Home, Byron.

Anthony T. Whitehead
Services for Anthony T. Whitehead will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Union Baptist Church, with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Whitehead, 21, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000. Born and educated in Bibb County, he was formerly employed as a construction worker at Foster Construction.

Survivors include his mother, Teresa Ann Hiley of Macon; stepfather, Ronnie Hiley Sr. of Macon; grandparents, Dorothy Ford Whitehead and Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt Whitehead Sr., all of Macon; sons, Anthony Whitehead Jr. and Amir Tyrese Whitehead, both of Macon; brother, Ronnie Hiley Jr. of Macon; and sisters, April L. Hiley and Franet D. Whitehead, both of Macon.

Ernest Williams
Services for Ernest Williams will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Bentley & Sons Funeral Home, with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Williams, 47, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000. Born and educated in Bibb County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Williams. He was formerly employed by Gandy's Pool Table Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra R. Williams of Macon; children, Yolanda D. Johnson, Marcus Williams, Donyelle Williams, Naketa S. Williams and Shanderlette L. Williams, all of Macon; brothers, John Williams, Anthony Williams, Jerry Williams, Zerome Williams, Donald Williams and Andrew Greenleaf, all of Macon; sisters, Ruthie Dean and Linda Kellam, both of Macon; and four grandchildren.

Glenn Boland Wommack
TENNILLE - Services for Glenn Boland Wommack will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Tennille United Methodist Church, with burial in Zeta Cemetery. Wommack, 80, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, following an extended illness. A Twiggs County native, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Glenn Boland and the late Marie Hendry Boland. She was the widow of Robert Wilburn Wommack Sr. She was a retired teacher and guidance counselor with the Washington County Board of Education. Wommack was a member of the Georgia Retired Teachers Association, a member and past president of the Georgia Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary, and a former trustee for the Zeta Cemetery. She was a member and past president of the Tennille Fine Arts Club and a member and past president of the Tennille Women's Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Marie Wommack Harvil of Locust Grove; son, Robert W. Wommack Jr. of Tennille; sister, Iris B. Martin of Jackson; brother, Marvin G. Boland of Macon; and three grandchildren.

Marvin Black
HOMERVILLE - Memorial services for Marvin E. Black were Tuesday in Roundtree Funeral Home, with additional services at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, Soperton. Black, 78, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000. Born in Treutlen County, he had lived in Clinch County for 14 years and was a retired carpenter.

Survivors include his children, Lawanna Walker of Hobe Sound, Fla., Glenda Segasser of West Palm Beach, Fla., Patsy Zidek of Port Salerno, Fla., Debra Delk and Ronald Black, both of Homerville, Phillip Black of Okeechobee, Fla., and Gary Black, Eddie Black, Kenny Black and Daryl Black, all of Stuart, Fla.; sisters, Ruby Blachley of Longview, Texas , and Clyde Geiger of Soperton; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Sammons Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Lydia Blevins
WARNER ROBINS - Services for Lydia E. Blevins will be at 2 p.m. today in Christopher-Smith Funeral Home with burial in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Blevins, 98, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her children, James Blevins of Warner Robins and Harold Blevins of Barnesville; sister, Agnus Stanley of Virginia; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
