Peyton Lawson
FORSYTH - Services for Peyton Alexander Lawson will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Lawson, the infant son of Mark and Michele Lawson, died Monday Feb. 21, 2000.

Survivors in addition to his parents include grandparents, Charles Sirmons of Pinehurst, Charlotte H. Mixon of Vienna and Thomas and Elaine Lawson of Cumming; great-grandparents, Gordon and Sara Sirmons of Pinehurst, Gladys Hardegree of Vienna, John and Viola Lawson of Hidleburg, Miss., and Blanch Patterson of Alpharetta; stepgrandfather, Gary Mixon of Vienna.

The family will receive friends at Monroe County Memorial Chapel from 7 to 9 tonight.

Louise McCullers
Services for Louise McCullers will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Memorial Park. McCullers, 86, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000. She was born in Bolingbroke, the daughter of the late Para Lee and Donny Barrow and attended schools in Bibb County. The widow of Rogers McCullers, she was a former member of First Church of God in Evanston, Ill., and at death was a member of Community Church of God in Macon.

Survivors include her son, James A. Shivers of Hazelcrest, Ill.; a sister, Alma Jackson of Macon; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

John McDaniel
CORDELE - Services for the Rev. John Lee McDaniel will be at 2 p.m. today in Hughes & Wright Funeral Home with burial in Arabi Cemetery. McDaniel, 70, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000. A native of Crisp County, he was the son of the late Robert and Susie Carpenter McDaniel. He was a retired tractor mechanic and a retired Baptist minister who served churches in Crisp, Dooly, Dodge, Turner and Taylor counties. He was a foster parent and more than 150 children called him "PaPa".

Survivors include his wife, Sara McDaniel; children, Lynn Brown, Sara Culp, Gary McDaniel and Wayne McDaniel, all of Cordele; sisters Margaret Massey, Carrie Thomason and Sally Moore, all of Cordele; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crisp Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 5007, Cordele 31010.

Eugene McMahon
Services for Eugene J. McMahon will be private. McMahon, 80, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000. A Marine Corps captain in the Pacific during World War II, he received a law degree from St. Louis University and was the first executive director in Macon for the Office of Economic Opportunity.He was a member of the Coliseum Lung Association Group. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Sheeran McMahon of Macon; children, Carol Reed of Atlanta, William S. McMahon of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and J. Thomas McMahon of Atlanta; brothers, Robert E. McMahon of Spartanburg, S.C., and Edward K. McMahon of Pompano Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Allen Nowell Jr.
Services for Allen "Ray" Nowell Jr. will be at 2 p.m. in Snow Hill Cemetery. Nowell, 36, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000. He was born in Bibb County and was a self-employed carpenter.

Survivors include his children, Ashley Mancil of Macon, Brandon Michael Waits of Clinton, Tenn., and Allen Michael Nowell of Lizella; and parents, Elizabeth Ann Nowell of Macon and Allen Ray Nowell Sr. of Conyers.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Gordon Memorial Funeral Home.

Adeline O'Neal
DUBLIN - Services for Adeline Walker O'Neal will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Faith Temple Church of God in Christ with burial in Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery. O'Neal, 98, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000. She was born in Georgia, the daughter of the late Jack and Easter Walker. The widow of Leo O'Neal, she was the oldest member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, where she was an usher until her health failed.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Glenda Foster of Los Angeles, Gayla V. Marshall, Patricia O'Neal and Eva L. O'Neal, all of Dublin, Janet Faye O'Neal of Palataka, Fla., Felmon O'Neal Jr. of Atlanta and Joann Hurst and Leola Hughes, both of Lorraine, Ohio; and 21 great-grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at 500 Hudson St., Apartment 6. The body will be placed in the church an hour prior to services. Dudley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Brandi Parker
Services for Brandi Varnadore Parker will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Parker, 27, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000. A lifelong resident of Macon, she attended Windsor Academy and was a graduate of Southeast High School. She was attending Georgia College & State University and was a homemaker. She was a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Parker Jr.; her son, Andrew Parker of Macon; parents, Rayford and Debbie R. Varnadore of Macon; a brother, Nick Varnadore of Macon; grandparents, Millard Reynolds and Willie Varnadore Norris, both of Macon; and stepgrandmother, Edna Reynolds of Macon.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 4406, Macon 31208.

Marjorie Simmons
MIDDLEBURG, Fla. - Services for Marjorie Bloodworth "Mae" Simmons will be at 11 a.m. today in Stone Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Dry Branch. Simmons, 88, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000. She worked at the Macon Naval Ordnance Plant during World War II. The widow of James Simmons, she was at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Fla.,

Survivors include her children, Herman Simmons of Florida, Polly Methvin of Hardeesville, S.C., Peggy Kirk of Starke, Fla., and Betty Bower of Middleburg; sister, Leland Eddy of Macon; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.

Harts Mortuary has charge of local arrangements.

Robert Sweatmon
Services for Robert Harley Sweatmon will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Crest Lawn Funeral Home with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Sweatmon, 76, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000. Born in Coweta County, he had lived in Macon for the past 33 years. He was an Air Force senior master sergeant, retired after 30 years, and was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Sweatmon; children, Barbara Reeves of Kathleen, Sherry Sweatmon of Byron and Eddie W. Sweatmon of Fort Drum, N.Y.; brother and sister, Howard E. Sweatmon of Ringgold and Mary J. Thompson of Whitesburg; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and may be contacted at 5856 Porterfield Circle.

Clara Tharpe
Services for Clara Height Tharpe will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Mount Gilgal Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Tharpe, 86, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000. She was born in Twiggs County, the daughter of the late Josephine Height. The widow of Isiah Tharpe, she was a member of Mount Gilgal Baptist Church.

Survivors include nephews, Ellis Veal of Jeffersonville and John Will Height and John M. Height, both of Patterson, N.J.; a great-great-niece, Francine Brown of Macon; eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Alton White
MONTROSE - Services for Alton Bennie White will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Byrd Hill Baptist Church, Dudley, with burial in Macedonia Church Cemetery. White died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000. He was born in Laurens County, the son of the late Corbitt and Carrie White, and attended Laurens County public schools.

Survivors include his stepchildren, Gladys Thomas, Lallie Watkins and Nina Hollaway, all of Montrose, Catherine Mason and Ira Mack, both of Atlanta, and Jessie Turner of Dudley; brothers and sisters, Clifton White, Roy White, Sallie Blash and Ethel Mack, all of Montrose, Letha Russell, Thomas White and Jeralyne Blanton, all of Toledo, Ohio, and Corbitt White of Dudley; and 18 grandchildren.

Family will be at 1918 Highway 278, Montrose. Bentley & Sons Funeral Home in Jeffersonville has charge of arrangements.

Fred D. Barfield
Services for Fred Donald Barfield will be private. Barfield, 75, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in a local hospital. Son of the late Joseph Patterson and Alice Samantha Smith Barfield, he was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a security guard, retired from the Veterans Administration hospital in Decatur. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his children Regina Nipper of Raleigh, N.C., and Scott Barfield of Waynesboro.

Bridges Funeral Home, Gray, has charge of arrangements.

Cullen Brinkley
STOCKBRIDGE - Services for Cullen S. Brinkley will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, Fairview Chapel, Stockbridge. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Monroe Memorial Gardens, Forsyth. Brinkley, 61, died Monday, May 8, 2000. He was an engineer, retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after 34 years of service. He was a member of Roadrunners Travel Club and Dutchman Camping Club.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Brinkley; children Rhonda Beinburg of Stockbridge, Keith Brinkley of Conyers and Ronald Brinkley of Forsyth; mother, Dorothy Brinkley of Forsyth; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight in the funeral home.

Robert Carter
Services for Robert W. "Bob" Carter will be at 11 a.m. today in Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church with burial in Macon Memorial Park. Carter, 62, died Monday, May 8, 2000. He was the son of the late Perue and Margaret Carter. An Army veteran, he was retired from Robins Air Force Base and worked at Tattnall Square Academy. He coached Macon Little League and was an organizer of North Macon Little League Association. He was a member of Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church and Fellowship Men's Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Carter; children Wanda Morrison of Lizella and Sucee Doniel of Macon; stepson Billy Doniel of Tybee Island; sister and brothers Donna Bone of Commerce, Carl Carter of Macon and Calvin Carter of Midway; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.
