HAWKINSVILLE - Services for Agnes Dent "Tot" Sewell will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Hughes & Wright Funeral Home, Cordele, with burial in Sunnyside Cemetery. Sewell, 79, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, in a local nursing center. Born in Taylor County, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Third Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children Ken Sewell of Hawkinsville and Max Sewell of Cochran; sisters and brothers Kate Woodard, John Dent and Mack Dent, all of Cordele, and Mary Wright and Joyce Moore, both of Vienna; brothers John Dent and Mack Dent, both of Cordele; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
James Shirah
ASHBURN - Services for James H. Shirah will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Rose Hill Cemetery, with full military honors. Shirah, 53, died Monday, May 8, 2000. He was a retired master sergeant in the Marine Corps. He served during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm/frame, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Cross and several other medals and citations. He was also a drill instructor in the Marine Corps and rifle marksman instructor. He was a transport officer at the Turner County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda W. Shirah; children Roxana Royal and Shane Shirah, both of Ashburn; and a grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn.
Nora Smith
DUBLIN - Services for Nora Miller Smith will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Umatilla Cemetery, Umatilla, Fla. Smith, 96, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000. Born in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late George D. and Lizzie Warnock Miller. She was the widow of Ernest L. Smith.
Survivors include her son A.D. Williams of Dublin; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight in Sammons Funeral Home.
William E. Smith
Memorial services for William Exley Smith will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Forest Hills United Methodist Church. Burial will be private. Smith, 72, died Monday, May 8, 2000, in a local hospital. He graduated from Riverside Military Academy and the Georgia Institute of Technology, earning a degree in civil engineering with a practice of structural engineering. An Army veteran of World War II, he was founder and owner of William Exley Smith Co. and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was a member of the Older Adult Ministries and was a volunteer for Golden Opportunities at The Medical Center of Central Georgia. He was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church, where he was a lay leader, member of the finance committee and Faithful Friends Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Helen High Smith; children David F. Smith of Mebane, N.C., Lee High Smith of Smyrna, Matthew F. Smith of Bellvue, Wash., and William Exley Smith Jr. of Albany; sisters Margaret Lancaster of Warner Robins and Carolyn Miller of Colonial Beach, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

Sherrill Stafford
CENTERVILLE - Services for Joseph Sherrill Stafford will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Centerville First Baptist Church with burial in Centerville Cemetery. Stafford, 67, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000. He was the son of the late J.P. and Lois Stafford. An Army veteran, he was retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base. He was mayor of Centerville for 16 years. He was chairman of the Houston County Commission and was recently sworn in as president of the Association County Commissioners of Georgia. He was a member of Centerville First Baptist Church, where he taught the Shining Lights Sunday School Class. He also was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Perry.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Hallman Stafford; children Laura Stafford Poythress and Dorothy Stafford, both of Centerville; sister, Jeanette Stafford Gorman of Panama City, Fla.; and a grandchild.

Golden Thomas
GORDON - Services for Golden Thomas will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Dixon Temple Church of God in Christ, Toomsboro, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Gordon. Thomas, 96, died Sunday, May 7, 2000. He was retired from Central Railroad and Gordon Medical Center. He was a member of the usher board at Dixon Temple Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his stepchildren, Patricia Mack of Macon, Bobby Miller and Hope Carter, both of Houston, Texas , Beverly Burden of Gordon and Jeffery Miller of San Diego; brothers, W.E. Thomas of Detroit and Barbanus Thomas of Cleveland, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.

ATLANTA - Services for Chris D. Woodward will be private. Woodward, 43, died Monday, May 8, 2000.

DUBLIN - Services for Marvin L. Criswell will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial in Northview Cemetery. Criswell, 91, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, in a Dublin hospital. He was born
in Johnson County, son of the late Henry W. and Ella Bray Criswell. He lived in Laurens County for many years and was a member of the Laurens County Historical Society. The widower of Fannie Moye Criswell, he was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where he was active in the men's Sunday school class, the Brotherhood and was a member of the Friendship Club and attended the Joy Club at Bethsaida Baptist Church
Survivors include his daughters Carol Southerland of Dublin and Bettie Sue Criswell of Dublin and Macon; sisters, Ruby Ricks and Mary Braddy, both of Soperton, and Buena Ricks of Zephryllis, Fla.; two grandsons; and three great-grandsons.

David Crouch
WARNER ROBINS - Services for David Crouch were held Sunday in First Baptist Church. Burial was in Collierville, Tenn., on Tuesday. Crouch, 35, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000. He was a courier for Federal Express. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher in the Youth Department.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Crouch; children Jonathan Crouch II and Dylan Crouch, both of Warner Robins; parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Crouch Sr. of Moscow, Tenn.; brothers and sister James Crouch Jr. of Lakeland, Tenn., Kenneth Crouch of Cordova, Tenn., and Sheree Guyer of Olive Branch, Miss.; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gurley of Memphis, Tenn.

Martha Ford
MALABAR, Fla. - Services for Martha Stanley Ford will be at 11 a.m. today in Northview Cemetery, Dublin. Ford, 100, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000. She was born
in Laurens County, daughter of the late Vivian L. and Ella Martin Stanley. A homemaker and a widow, she had lived in the Bravard County, Fla., area since 1940. She organized the Indian River chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1947 and served as regent from 1947 to 1949 and as state program chairman in 1958. She served as treasurer, vice president, president and national chaplain of the U.S. Daughters of 1812 and was a member of the National Officers' Club. She served as state director, state chaplain, state recording secretary and state vice president of the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century. She served as chapter president and state president of the Huguenot Society and was a member of the Charleston South Carolina Society. Ford was also a member of the Magna Carta Dames of the Colonial Order of the Crown, the Descendants of Knight of the Most Noble Garter, the Southern Dames of America No. 351, Colonial Dames of America No. 2078, Daughters of Colonial Wars No. 4480, Dames of Court of Honor No. 665 and the Daughters of American Colonist No. 13010. She served as president of the Titusville Women's Club. She was a member and deacon of Titusville First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her son, B. Frank Brown of Valkaria, Fla.; two granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 this morning at the funeral home before the service.
Lindell Hallman
BOSIER CITY, La. - Graveside services for Lindell "Lin" Hallman will be at 2 p.m. today in White Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Wheeler County. Hallman, 62, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000. He was born
in Glennville, son of the late Onis and Myrtice Kicklighter Hallman. He was a retired deputy sheriff with the Bosier Parish Sheriff's Department. Hallman served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his sister and brother, Markey Harris of Glenwood and Mickey Hallman of Lubbock, Texas .

Clarence Holt
GORDON - Services for Clarence Holt will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gordon Church of God in Christ with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Holt, 44, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at a local hospital. Son of the late Alberta Holt, he was employed by PIC and Rescar. He was a member of Gordon Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his children Rolanda Evans and Rashato Evans, both of Toomsboro; stepchildren Rozalyn Evans, Rharoxie Evans and Rasherra Evans, all of Toomsboro; father, Locha Veal of Gordon; grandfather, Sam Holt of Gordon; brother and sisters Christopher Holt of Macon, Shirley Cantrell of Gordon, Wendolyn Oakley of Copperas Cove, Texas , and Dorothy Ann Veal of Ohio; two stepbrothers; and one stepsister.

Hattie Mae Hooper
FORT VALLEY - Services for Hattie Mae "Sister" Hooper will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at C.J. Edwards Memorial Chapel, Fort Valley, with burial in Webb Cemetery, Musella. Hooper, 74, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2000, at her residence. A native of Orlando, Fla., she served as a florist's assistant at Kells Florist in Fort Valley. She was a member of Coolspring Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Tobie Lee Cross Jr. of Fort Valley; brother and sister, Willie Duffie of Philadelphia and Johnnie Mae Jackson of Macon; and six grandchildren.
