Mr. Horace Eugene Newborn, 70, of Roswell, formerly of Douglasville passed away on Monday, October 7, 2002 at Portsbridge Hospice in Dunwoody. He was born on January 18, 1932 in Douglasville, GA the son of the late Clyde and Mary Allen Newborn. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a cabinet maker. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Andrew Newborn. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Anna Douglass Newborn of Roswell; 4 daughters, Marie Radford of Bremen, Elizabeth Leavitt of San Antonio, TX, Patricia Tucker of Lithia Springs, and Amy Phillips of Woodstock; 3 sons, Norman Newborn, Aaron Michael of Roswell, and Jeff Newborn of Cumming; 3 sisters, Betty McCullough of LaGrange, Nellie Harrison of Douglasville, and Marilyn Davis of Hiram; 4 brothers, George Newborn of Douglasville, David Newborn of Douglasville, Earnest “Butch” Newborn of Douglasville, and Roy Newborn of Alabama; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, October 10, 2002 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Roy Newborn and Butch Newborn Officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Mr. Charles Barto Harper, Sr., 85, of Douglasville passed away on Monday, October 7, 2002 at his residence. He was born on August 16, 1917 in Monroe County, AL the son of the late John C. Harper and the late Sallie Brantley Harper. Mr. Harper was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville. He served in the United States Army for over 20 years and retired as a Major. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Della Richards and Lizzie Mae Culbuth and brothers, Floyd Harper, James Clinton Harper, Leo V. Harper, Gino Harper, and Audie Harper. He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys Mills Harper of Douglasville; 2 daughters and son-in law, Patricia Ann and Earl Thomas of Jacksonville, FL and Mattie Louise Keane of Waleska, GA; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Barto Harper, Jr. and Donna Harper of Canton, GA and Dwight Mills and Rose Harper of Marietta; brother, Durward Harper of Anniston, AL; 7 grandchildren; 4 great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Mr. Leon Myron Ayers, 76, of Cooper Street, Douglasville, GA passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice following an extended illness. He was born November 13, 1927 in Bremen, Georgia the son of the late Isaac Ayers and the late Mrs. Florence Wilson Ayers. He married Stella Viola Bragg on October 15, 1956. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a carpenter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Viola Bragg Ayers on March 25, 2004 and son, Charles Ayers. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Joe Smith of Douglasville, Carol and Dick Davis of Texas and Cathy and Greg Brown of Texas; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Tammy Ayers and Eddie and Diane Ayers all of Douglasville; sister, Opal Ayers of Villa Rica; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Earnest Pruitt and sister, Cordie Mae Causey. He was born March 2, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the late James Thomas Coleman and the late Mrs. Lettie Mae Springer Coleman. He did survey and Television Repair and was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl “Cheri” Odom of Marietta and Nicolette “Nicki” Kruythoff of Smyrna; sister, Dawn Hankinson of Bremen; three brothers, Lonnie Coleman of Douglasville, Larry Coleman of Forest Park, and Ronald Coleman of Hiram; 2 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Frank Rowe Stanley III, 71, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 10, 2004 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital following an extended illness. He was born November 13, 1932 in Americus, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Frank Rowe Stanley, II and Mrs. Annie Mae Edwards Stanley. He married Betty Griggs on June 16, 1956 in Rome, GA. He was a member of the Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Winston. He retired from the Sweetwater Paperboard Company following 22 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Orr, Mary Ellen McArthur, and Ardelle Ivey and brother, Milton Stanley. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Griggs Stanley of Douglasville; 2 daughters, Lisa and Scott Edwards of Cumming and Misty and Jeff Grindle of Douglasville; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Michael Lee Dalon, 64, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, Georgia. He was born March 31, 1940 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Richard Penrose Dalon and Marcella Kelly Belcher Dalon. Mr. Dalon was a Jehovah’s Witness. He worked as a grading contractor. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stewart Dalon and Maurice Belcher. He is survived by wife, Mrs. Linda Lamb Dalon of Douglasville; three sons and daughter-in-law: Tony Dalon of Roopville, Greg Dalon of Hiram and Chris and Diana Dalon of Temple; his mother, Marcella Kelly Belcher Dalon; two sisters: Mary Beatty of Atlanta and Elzena Ellis of Woodstock; four brothers: Charles Dalon of Acworth, Justin Dalon of Lawrenceville, Tony Dalon of Nashville, Tennessee and Tommy Belcher of Bremen; grandson, Austin Tomberlin; and several nieces and nephews also survive. White Paving Company. In addition to his parents, his wife, Velda Jean Casson White preceded him in death. Mr. John Richard Martin, 31, of Pleasant Hill Road, Carrollton, Georgia passed away suddenly Monday, December 6, 2004 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia. He was born October 2, 1973, in Carrollton, Georgia. He was a resident of Austell for 29 years. He was a graduate of South Cobb High School and the State University of West Georgia. Mr. Martin was an avid University of Georgia Bulldog fan. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Martin was employed by Royal Metals, of Douglasville, and worked as a stock loader. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jamie Norton Martin; two sons, Johnathon Carson Martin and Joshua Cole Martin, both of Carrollton; his mother and father, Mrs. Deborah New Martin and Mr. Richard Martin, both of Austell; one brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Dee Martin of Roopville; his in-laws, Mrs. Tammy Norton and Mr. Roger Norton, Sr., both of Carrollton; five nieces also survive. Mr. James Ray Wynn, 77, of Daniel Road, Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 18, 2004 at Portsbridge Hospice in Riverdale following an extended illness. He was born March 1, 1927 in Carroll County, GA the son of the late Charles Wesley Wynn and the late Mrs. Mary Lee Cantrell Wynn. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church where he became a member seven years ago. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed at Randall Brothers in Atlanta where he did special millwork. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lucille Clowdis, Ruth Mayfield, and Inez Wynn; brothers, Hershel Wynn and Roy Wynn; and brother-in-law, William Kidd. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Burson Wynn of Villa Rica; daughter, Deanna and Chris Holloway of Temple; sister, Sara Nell Kidd of Carrollton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Clara Wynn of Carrollton and Hiram and Rhoada Wynn of Woodstock; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Holloway, Matthew Holloway, and Travis Holloway all of Temple; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
