Kay Rogers Cain
Kay Rogers Cain, 65, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in a Macon hospital. Memorial services were held Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Rex T. Caney officiating.
Mrs. Cain was born in Macon and was the daughter of the late Marjorie Spivey and William F. Rogers. She was in the Lake Sinclair Hen Social Club.
Mrs. Cain is survived by her husband of 43 years, David Cain of Lake Sinclair.; a daughter, Sandi Harman Waldrop of Atlanta; a son, Ricky Cain of Macon; two grandsons, Ryan Harman of Atlanta and Max Payne of Macon; plus several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Rosser Harrison Jr.
Funeral services for Rosser Harrison Jr., 87, were held Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Texas AME Church in Eatonton with Rev. Simone Jones, pastor, officiating and Rev. Willie C. Jones as eulogist, assisted by Rev. Presley, Rev. C. Jones, Rev. Leon Mitchel and Rev. Burney. Burial service was held in the Texas Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.
Harrison, who passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011, at his residence, was a native and life long resident of Putnam County who lived in New Jersey for a few years.
He logged for several years and later was employed for 25 years at Fortsman Textile Manufacturing in Milledgeville until his retirement.
He was a member for 35 years of the Putnam Masonic Lodge 170 and a member of Texas AME Church.
He was once married to the late Matte Lou Sheerwood.
He leaves to cherish his memory nine daughters, Doris Evans, Rosser Lee Bonner, Mary White, Carrie Lou Harrison (Rickey), Lizzie Jordon (George), Elease Harrison (Edward), Carolyn Harrison, Ruby Lewis, and Katie Mae Brannon, all of Eatonton; three sons, Willie Frank Harrison (Irma) of Orlando, Fla., Mattew Harrison of Wilmington, N.C., and Charles L. Harrison (Lisa) of Atlanta; sister-in-law Dallas Parham; 29 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Floral bearers were his granddaughter and friends. Pallbearers were members of Putnam Masonic Lodge 170.

Priscilla Culp
Ms Priscilla Culp of 117 East Mathis Road, Eatonton, Ga., departed this life Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Cilla, as she is fondly remembered, was born February 5, 1961, to J.T. and Mattie Mae Culp. She was an innovator, motivator, and educator. She dedicated many years of service as a childcare provider to hundreds of Eatonton's youth. Cilla touched the lives of many while employed at Eatonton Early Childhood and later as the owner and operator of Culp's Childcare Center. Priscilla was a member of Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church and was a loving mother, caring sister, and loyal friend.
Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Christina (Kyle); sisters, Geraldine (Oscar), Theresa, Alisha (Dwight); brothers, Ralph (Jackie), Randy (Patricia), Gary; and many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A service of love and remembrance was held Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton. Rev. Robert Tinsley officiated.

Robert Lamar Meeks Sr.
Robert Lamar Meeks Sr., 84, passed away on April 28, 2011. Dr. Meeks was born March 20, 1927. He was the son of the late Pina and Earlie Meeks, formerly of Nicholls, Ga. He graduated from UGA College of Veterinary Medicine in 1951 and practiced in Putnam County and surrounding counties for over 50 years.
Dr. Meeks is survived by wife Lois Green Meeks; daughters Madge Cunningham, Nan Meeks and Mimi Meeks; a son, Robert L. Meeks, Jr.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Donations to Oconee Regional Humane Society are respectfully requested in lieu of flowers. Visitation was Sunday, May 1, at the First Baptist Church of Eatonton, followed by the funeral services. Interment followed at Pine Grove cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Eatonton.

Alice Pauline Linch Williams
Alice Pauline Linch Williams, 89, of Hwy 18, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in Gray.
Graveside services were held Saturday April 30, in Hardies Chapel Church of Christ cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery. Danny Roberts will officiate.
Mrs. WIlliams was born June 16, 1921, in Eatonton, the daughter of the late James Arthur and Sara Maude Cochran Linch. She was the widow of the late John S. WIlliams. She was preceded in death by her daughter; Marjorie Alice W. Evans, her grandson Robert M. Etheridge III, and by her brother James Linch.
Mrs. Williams was retired from Imperial Mills in Eatonton and later worked at the VFW and Elks Lodge in Eatonton. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and was a member of Hardies Chapel Church of Christ. She was a kind and nurturing mother always putting her family before herself. She grew beautiful flowers and enjoyed working in the yard.
Survivors include her children Virgil Stephens (Barbara) Williams, Charlotte W. (Bobby) Etheridge, and Sarah Elaine W. Hart; son-in-law David Evans; and seven grandchildren.

John S. Simmons
Funeral services for Mr. John S. Simmons were held Wednesday, May 4, at Ivey Baptist Church with burial to follow in Snow Hill cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery in Gordon, Ga., with military honors.
John Sidney Simmons, Jr., passed away peacefully at a hospice facility in Dublin, Ga., on Sunday, May 1, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Simmons was born in Eatonton, Georgia, on April 16, 1924 to the late John Sidney Simmons, Sr. and Elsie Knight Simmons. After completing high school, Mr. Simmons enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served during World War II in the Pacific Theater aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Albert W. Grant (DD 649) and was involved in several major battles in the South Pacific with the largest being the Battle of Leyte Gulf. The ship suffered 22 hits and during one battle, lost all power with 33 men killed and 104 wounded. He also served on the U.S.S. PGM 21, a mine sweeper, which destroyed a total of 347 mines all over the South Pacific. He achieved the rank of Quartermaster 2/C, U.S. Navy.
Upon returning to the United States after the war, he received his education at North Georgia College in Dahlonega. After graduation, he began his career in accounting at J.P. Stevens in Milledgeville, where he met his beloved wife, Glenda (Youngblood) Simmons. Later he became head of accounting at Meadows Industries in Milledgeville. John and Glenda were married on January 1, 1958.
Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife of 53 years, Glenda Y. Simmons, his children, Steve (Mary Sue) Simmons of Kennesaw, Daphne (Chuck) Gilley and Jeffrey Scott Simmons of Gordon; brother, Shelly (Helen) Simmons of Warner Robins, sister, Joan Simmons of Milledgeville, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and mother-in-law, Minnie Lee Youngblood, of Gordon, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, John Sidney and Elsie Knight Simmons Sr., and sister, Kathryn Simmons.

Christopher Michael Brorup
Chris M. Brorup of Eatonton, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Chris was born in Washington, Ga, but moved to Eatonton at an early age. He was 35 years old.
He is survived by his wonderful wife, Jessica Maddox Brorup and his two step-sons, William Derek Edwards and Patrick Kyle Brock; parents, Carl W. Brorup Jr. and Dona Brorup of Eatonton; step-grandmother, Barbara Stone of Deltona, Fla. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl W. Brorup Sr. and Gloria A. Brorup; Edwin Anderson and Mary Helen Anderson.
During his high school and college years, Chris excelled in swimming, earning a position to train toward the Olympics. He also was deeply committed to the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1990 with his father serving as assistant troop master. After his time in college, Chris became interested and served as a firefighter/paramedic in several area agencies. He also maintained a license as an amateur radio operator KB4WNH; an interest developed by his father, Carl Jr. He was an active member of the First Independent Methodist Church of Eatonton. We have lost a valued husband, father and son in this life but we realize he is truly Heaven's gain.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask donations to be made to the Georgia Sheriffs Boys Ranches, Inc. or The Boy Scouts of America.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, May 1, at the First Independent Methodist Church with Pastor Ron Smith, officiating.

Dorothy Keffer
Memorial services for Mrs. Dorothy Keffer, 62, were held Monday, July 18, in the Siloam Baptist Church with Rev. James Bowen officiating.
Mrs. Keffer was a native of Washington, N.C., and had made her home in Sparta for a number of years. The daughter of the late Loris and Mitty Louise Bright Shepherd, she was a homemaker and loved antiques. She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Siloam.
Survivors include her husband, Vaughn Keffer, and a daughter, Beverly Keffer, of Sparta; and a sister, Bobbie Hollis, of Washington, N.C.

Ramon Joseph Kotovsky, Jr.
Ramon Joseph Kotovsky, Jr., 54, of Eatonton, died Monday, July 11, 2011, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, on Oct. 29, 1956, he was the son of the late Emily Lucille Jindra Kotovsky and Ramon Joseph Kotovsky Sr. of White Plains. He grew up in Chicago, and in 1974, graduated from James B. Conant High School in Hoffman Estates, Ill. He attended technical school at Harper Junior College in Palatine, Ill., where he studied engineering and mathematics. He worked for Western Electric, Design Mold Engineering, and after moving to Georgia in 1995, worked with his brother, Joseph, at Sunshine Gutter in Eatonton. Ramon loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and “Lady,” his golden retriever.
In addition to his father, Ramon Joseph Kotovsky Sr. of White Plains, he is survived by a sister, Debra DoorenBos and husband Ron of Nokomis, Fla.; a brother, Thomas Kotovsky and wife Darlene of McHenry, Ill.,; sister-in-law, Leisa Griffith Kotovsky of Eatonton; nieces and nephews Kimberly Sherrer, Thomas Kotovsky and Crystal Bartowz; eight great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emily Jindra Kotovsky, in 1999; and a brother, Joseph Kotovsky, in 2009.
A Memorial Mass was held Thursday, July 14, at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, with Father G. Philip Ryan officiating. The family received friends after the service in the Sacred Heart Social Hall at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church.

Thomas Morton Cone, 79, of Eatonton passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011. A Memorial service was held on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Union Chapel United Methodist Church at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Karon Compton. Interment was private. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Asberry and Susan Gooch Cone; a step-son, Tommy Manville; a brother, Ralph Cone; and a nephew, Joseph DiLullo.
Thomas is survived by his daughter Jennifer Bertha Cone Patterson and husband Mike; grandsons Tommy Batchelor, Sean Batchelor, Jessie Patterson and Nick Patterson; step-daughters Deborah Hardin and husband Glen, Belinda Manville; sisters Mary Elizabeth Peck and Margaret Alice DiLullo; nieces Susan Park and Margaret Elizabeth DiLullo and husband Jason; nephew Steve Cone and wife Donna; great niece Stephanie Cone: great-nephews Sy and J.
