CHAPIN, S.C. -- Mrs. Dorene Cohoon Porter, 67, of 2167 Amicks Ferry Road, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at Lexington Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Columbia, with the Revs. George T. Head and Woody Hammert officiating.
Mrs. Porter, a native of St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, was retired from the University of South Carolina Baptist Student Union as a secretary. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a volunteer with Riverbanks Zoo, Columbia, and Lexington Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Porter; two sons, Steve Cohoon, Augusta, and F. Scott Cohoon, Chapin; one daughter, Kelley Twitty, Cayce; four stepdaughters, Mary Parsons, Nashville, Tenn., Melinda Butler, Lexington, Beth Bryda, Chicago, and Ellan Porter, Clearwater, Fla.; and 17 grandchildren.

CRAWFORDVILLE, Ga. -- Mr. James M. Redwine Sr., 77, of 238 Thompson St. S.E., died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Crawfordville Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Waters officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.
Mr. Redwine Sr., a native of Atlanta, was retired from Hubcap Daddy and was a Merchant Marine. He was a member of Crawfordville Baptist Church and Greensboro Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Bird Redwine; one son, James M. Redwine Jr., Luthersville; two daughters, Joyce R. Ozmont, Forrest Park, and Lori R. Yearwood, Crawfordville; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

THOMSON -- Mr. Robert Russell Reese Jr., 27, of 264 Pine Dale Lane, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at McDuffie County Hospital.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Curtis Funeral Home with the Revs. Ficklin Guinn and James C. Elder Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Reese, a native of Richmond County, had lived in Thomson most of his life and was a carpenter.
Survivors include one son, Robert Russell Reese III, Thomson; one daughter, Megan Reese, Thomson; his parents, Robert ``Bobby" and Linda Reese, Thomson; one brother, Joe Buffington, Thomson; one sister, Donna Higdon, Charleston; his paternal grandmother, Georgia Mae Reese, Thomson; and his maternal grandmother, Rebecca Gobble, Thomson.

Mrs. Rhodes, a native of Crawfordville, was retired as a cook with Woolworth's and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.

Mrs. Vancil, a native of Manchester, Ga., was a homemaker and a member of Pentecost United Methodist Church, where she was a member and had been president of United Methodist Women, served as church historian and Sunday school teacher, and had been director of Methodist Youth Fellowship. She was a member of two citizens band radio clubs, C.B. Cats and C.B. Helpers, where her C.B. name was South Carolina Mockingbird.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Vancil; one daughter, Vicki A. Davis, Warrenville; one brother, George P. deMedicis, Warrenville; and two granddaughters and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Hebert Hurst, George Alvin deMedicis, Claude Head, Keith Jowers, Tom Walker and Al deMedicis.
