Mr. Christopher Hafenbrack

AIKEN -- Mr. Christopher G. Hafenbrack, 80, of 811 Laurel Drive, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Andrea officiating. Burial will be private.

Mr. Hafenbrack, a native of Saginaw, Mich., was a commercial artist and an Army veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Midland Valley Golf Course.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Claire Nevius Hafenbrack; three sons, Richard D. Hafenbrack, Fenton, Mich., David C. Hafenbrack, Dayton, Ohio, and Jeffrey A. Hafenbrack, Coral Springs, Fla; one stepson, James Barnes, Dayton; one daughter, Barbara G. Harris, Fenton, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Carol Davis, Dayton, and Nancy Barnes, Houston; one brother, David Hafenbrack, Muskegan, Mich.; one sister, Lucille Pollard, Largo, Fla.; and five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Williamson Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3157, Aiken, SC 29801.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Shellhouse Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. George Hazel Sr.

NEWARK, N.J. -- Mr. George D. Hazel Sr., 70, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, in Newark.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Peoples Funeral Home with the Rev. C.W. Phinizy officiating. Burial will be in Hazel Family Cemetery, Beech Island.

Mr. Hazel was a native of Beech Island.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Hazel; one son, George D. Hazel Jr.; one daughter, Olga Hazel; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at 1508 Wilder St., Augusta.

Mr. Donald Hill

Retired electrician

LINCOLNTON, Ga. -- Mr. Donald Adrian Hill, 65, of 227 Sunrise Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lincolnton Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Lincolnton City Cemetery.

Mr. Hill, a native of Lincoln County, was a retired hydropower plant electrician of the Army Corps of Engineers with Strom Thurmond Project, Clarks Hill, S.C., after 40 years of service. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He assisted with the construction of the power plant at Clarks Hill. He was a former Jaycee, Cub and Boy Scout leader and member of the Lincolnton Lions Club. He was a member of the Lincoln County Historical Society and the Friends of the Lincoln County Library. He was a member of Lincolnton Baptist Church, where he served on the board of deacons, taught the adult men's Sunday school class and was a member of the choir. He was an amateur photographer.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Waters Hill; one son, Marcus Adrian ``Mark" Hill, Lincolnton; his mother, Belva Butler Hill, Lincolnton; one sister, June H. Hendrix, Florida; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larry Campbell, Donald Cartledge, Joe Durham, David Gaines, Phillip Golden, Boyce McKinney, William P. ``Bill" Norman Jr., Anthony Pate, Tom B. Steed and Charles Wurst Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Lincolnton Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Lincolnton Baptist Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 357, Lincolnton, GA 30817.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Beggs Funeral Home.

Mr. Doug Horne Sr.

Retired auto salesman

MOULTRIE, Ga. -- Mr. Doug Horne Sr., 79, of 2029 Third St. S.E., died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Julian Griner and J.E. Moak officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.

Mr. Horne, a native of Moultrie, was a retired auto salesman with Sam Duggan Chevrolet and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the men's Bible class. He was a 1936 graduate of Moultrie High School. He was a lifetime member of General Motors Legion of Leader and a member of the Lion's Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award and the 1989 Lion of the Year. He was a member of the Sight Conversation and worked for the Blind Committee.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Deal Horne; one son, Doug Horne Jr., Augusta; one daughter, Carol Horne Parker, Duluth; two brothers, Clyde Horne, Moultrie, and Charles Horne, Sumter; one sister, Elva Lee Smith, Moultrie; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harley Weeks, George May, Raiford Faircloth, Franklin Parker, Gerald Lee and D.H. Alderman.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the men's Bible class.

Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. James Howard

Retired relay maker

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Mr. James H. Howard, of 32 Myrtle Ave., died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, in Jersey City.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ocean Avenue Baptist Church.

Mr. Howard, a native of Richmond County, was a relay maker with Western Electric Co. and a member of Ocean Avenue Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae Howard; one brother, William L. Howard, Augusta; and one sister, Ann Shephard, Newark.

Friends may call at Williams Funeral Home, Augusta.

Miss Dianne Marshall

ATLANTA -- Miss Dianne Marshall, 40, of 567 B. Holderness St., died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Dent's Funeral Home, Augusta, with the Rev. Gregory Young officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park.

Miss Marshall, a native of Orangeburg, S.C., was a former employee of The Augusta Chronicle and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Survivors include her mother, Betty Marshall.

Mrs. Estelle McDonald

Homemaker

SNELLVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Estelle C. McDonald, 88, of 2020 McGee Road S.W., died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at New London Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Westover Memorial Park, Augusta.

Mrs. McDonald, a native of Edgefield County, was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a member of Elizabeth McLain Bible Class. She was the treasurer of the Atlanta Chapter of the Georgia Association for the Blind.

Survivors include one son, Walter R. McDonald Jr., Atlanta; one daughter, Martha M. Griffin, Leesville, S.C.; one brother, W. Henry Carpenter, Tampa, Fla.; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Elizabeth McLain Bible Class, c/o First Baptist Church of Decatur, 308 Clearmont Ave., Decatur, GA 30030.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. today at Rowland Funeral Home, North Augusta.

Mr. Mose Moore

VARNVILLE, S.C. -- Mr. Mose ``Sonny" Moore, 59, of S.C. Highway 63, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Christian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Moore, a native of Hampton County, was a member of Antioch Christian Church and Antioch Masonic Lodge No. 91.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Moore; his mother, Desser Council, Varnville; three brothers, Oscar Henderson and Hammie Moore, both of Varnville, and John Moore, New York; four sisters, Virginia Doctor, Clara Doctor and Pauline Davis, all of Varnville, and Betty Lee, St. Louis; and two stepsisters, Cenia Mae Buckner, Varnville, and Cynthia Mae Buckner.

Washington's Funeral Home, Hampton, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sara Roberts

Retired cashier

Mrs. Sara Connie Heath Roberts, 77, of 214 Broad St., Apt. 1, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at George Funeral Home, Park Avenue, Aiken, with the Revs. Jim Adkins and Connie Dabney officiating. Burial will be in Talatha Baptist Church Cemetery, Aiken.

Mrs. Roberts, a native of Aiken, was a retired cashier with Reuben's Department Store and had also worked at the S&S Cafeteria. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.

The family said she was a very caring person and loved everybody.

Survivors include two sons, William E. ``Pete" Roberts Jr., Augusta, and Tommy Roberts, Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be George Hagan, Garry Hagan, Bill Johnson, Steve Eubanks, Johnny Teasley and Billy Key.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Robert Unstine

Retired chief engineer

McCORMICK, S.C. -- Mr. Robert Louis Unstine, 73, of 104 Golf Lane, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at a later date.

Mr. Unstine, a native of Toledo, Ohio, was retired from Chrysler Corp. as a chief engineer and was a Navy veteran of World War II, where he served as a fighter pilot.

Survivors include his wife, Lydia Ruth Unstine; one son, Jeffrey Scott Tomb, Arizona; four daughters, Kathy Lynne Weishaupt and Janine Louise Samartino, both of Mount Clements, Mich., Julie Collette Hatch, Warren, Mich., and Laura Andrea Zanotti, Romeo, Mich.; one sister, Valerie J. Spicker, Waterville, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren.

Harold W. Vick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton, is in charge of local arrangements.
