Mr. Charles Colbourne

Air Force retiree

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Mr. Charles Hildon Colbourne died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, in Augusta.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Charleston Air Force Base Chapel. Burial will be private.

Mr. Colbourne, a native of Cambridge, Md., was retired from the Air Force as a staff sergeant and was a retired correction officer with the South Carolina Department of Corrections. He attended school in Cambridge and was a Baptist and a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn M. Colbourne, North Charleston; four sons, Charles H. Colbourne, Fayetteville, N.C., Donald L. Colbourne, Augusta, Robert M. Colbourne, Summerville, and Michael W. Colbourne, North Charleston; three sisters, Lois Dailey, Baltimore, Lucille Mills, Cambridge, and Geraldine Benton, Hagerstown, Md.; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Liberatos Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Alberta Jones

WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Miss Alberta C. ``Mick" Jones, 38, of 1307 Clark Place Road, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. E.C. Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Miss Jones, a native of Burke County, had attended schools in Burke County and was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Josephine Jones, Waynesboro; one brother, James Jones, Waynesboro; and seven sisters, Barbara Chandler, Alexander, Melinda Jones, Catherine Way and Arletha Mack, all of Waynesboro, Vera Jones-Walker and Marshall E. Jackson, both of Jacksonville, Fla., and Annie M. Wimberly, Pompano Beach, Fla.

Friends may call at the residence or Phinazee and Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Ellis Weatherford

Navy retiree

MANCHESTER, Ga. -- Mr. Ellis Calvin Weatherford Sr., 73, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta.

Graveside services were Monday in Main Post Cemetery, Fort Benning, with the Rev. James W. Blount officiating.

Mr. Weatherford, a native of Blythe, was retired from the Navy as a senior chief petty officer. He was also retired from Goody Products as a regional maintenance engineer. He was a member of Ansantawae Masonic Lodge No. 89, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Milford, Conn. He was a Baptist and a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Collins Weatherford; one son, Ellis Weatherford Jr., Montreal; three daughters, Gayle Panter and Joan Sammond, both of Lawrenceville, and Linda Panattoni, Santa Clarita, Calif.; one sister, Lois Johnson, Hephzibah; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Sammy Waller, Billy Farris, Mike Sammond, Wendell Ward, Clifford Hendricks and Ellis Weatherford Jr.

Smith-Steele-Meadows Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Ida Taylor

Retired domestic worker

SYLVANIA, Ga. -- Ms. Ida Mae Riley Taylor, 70, of 940 Newington Highway, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Lawton Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Carlyle officiating. Burial will be in Reddick Cemetery.

Ms. Taylor, a native of Screven County, was a retired domestic worker and a member of Lawton Grove Baptist Church, where she was secretary of the senior mission and treasurer of the Sunday school.

Survivors include six sons, Vernon Taylor, Arnold Taylor and Ethridge Taylor, all of Atlanta, William Taylor and Edgar Taylor, both of Sylvania, and Clifford Taylor Jr., Statesboro; two daughters, Gloria Taylor and Cheryl French, both of Atlanta; one brother, Archie Coles, Sylvania; four sisters, Clara Bell Jackson, Savannah, Willie Mae Tanksley and Louise Taylor, both of Sylvania, and Elease Gadson, Patterson, N.J.; and 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Lawton Grove Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Booker T. Scott Memorial Chapel.

Sylvania Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Benjamin Wright

Welder

NEW YORK -- Mr. Benjamin Franklin Wright, 47, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Jackson Branch Baptist Church, Brunson, S.C., with the Rev. Wesley Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Wright, a native of Beaufort County, S.C., was a welder and an employee with United Parcel Service and New York Telephone Co. He was a member of Livingston Baptist Church and had been a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and Jackson Branch Baptist Church.

The family said he was loving, sensitive and sympathetic to the needs of others.

Survivors include one son, Benjamin Cave, New York; one daughter, Syretta Cave, New York; his parents, Izell and Hazel Wright, Brunson; two brothers, Jerome Wright and Dwayne Wright, both of New York; two sisters, Gwendolyn Wright and Caroline Harter, both of New York; and three grandchildren.

Mr. William Seiffert

Retired banker

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. -- Mr. William Douglas Seiffert, 68, died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, at Naples Community Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Christ St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Meggett, S.C.

Mr. Seiffert, a native of Canton, China, was a retired banker with C&S Bank and former president of American National Bank, Jesup, Ga. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one son, William D. Seiffert Jr., Bonita Springs; one daughter, Caroline Lee Wright, Fort Myers; his mother, Caroline Heyward Jenkins Seiffert, Winston-Salem, N.C.; two brothers, Edward Seiffert, Marietta, Ohio, and Douglas Seiffert, Winston-Salem; and one grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Christ St. Paul's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 426, Yonges Island, SC 29449.

Mr. Charlie Howard

Retired mechanic

SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Charlie Howard, 84, of 514 Oak St., died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at Emanuel Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Philip Baptist Church with the Rev. James Love officiating. Burial will be in Swainsboro City Cemetery.

Mr. Howard, a native of Emanuel County, had retired as a mechanic and as owner and operator of a service station. He was a member of St. Philip Baptist Church, New Hope Lodge No. 115, Summertown, Sons of Wadley Royal Arch Masons, Swainsboro Consistory, 32nd degree, Jethro's Council, Coleman Chapel, Women's Missionary Benevolent Society and Ohoopee Grove.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Byrd Howell; one son, Charlie Howell Jr., Twin City; three daughters, Ruth Jones, Paterson, N.J., Tommie Hickson, Augusta, and Dorothy H. Graves, Brunswick; one sister, Pauline Ladd, Montezuma; and 10 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of New Hope Masonic Lodge No. 115.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of St. Philip Baptist Church.

Friends may call at the residence of Dora Howell.

Mr. Albert Rhodes

Farmer

TIGNALL, Ga. -- Mr. Albert Stephens Rhodes, 93, of 4202 Delhi Road, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at Elbert County Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Beulah Baptist Church with the Revs. O'Neil Martin and Sherman Padgett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Rhodes, a native of Wilkes County, was a farmer and a merchant. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and Hiram Lodge No. 51.

Survivors include four sons, Robert Sanders Rhodes, Ed Rhodes and William Rhodes, all of Tignall, and Albert S. Rhodes Jr., McDonough; four daughters, Sara Frances R. Henderson, Beech Island, Barbara R. Oakley, Griffin, Betty R. Reese, Washington, and Patsy G. Mack, Tignall; one sister, Sarah R. Harper Mathews, Tignall; and 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Randy Rhodes, Mike Reese, John Mack, William Johnson, Creighton Henderson and Robert Darracott.

Memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Tignall, GA 30668.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hopkins Funeral Home, Washington.

Mr. Willard Myers

Farmer

ALLENDALE, S.C. -- Mr. Willard ``Bubber" Myers, 87, of U.S. Highway 301 North, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at Allendale County Hospital, Fairfax.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller Swamp Baptist Church, Sycamore, with the Rev. Virgin Johnson Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Myers, a native of Old Barnwell County, was a farmer and a member of Miller Swamp Baptist Church, where he served on the trustee board.

Survivors include two sons, Sylvester Myers and Thomas Myers, both of Allendale; two brothers, August Myers, Allendale, and William Jasper Myers, Fairfax; four sisters, Mamie Ritter, York, Pa., Charotta Hammonds, Lauren, Eliza Cave, Kline, and Geneva R. Myers, Allendale; and six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cave Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Margaret Lloyd

Retired secretary

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Mrs. Margaret Snoddy Lloyd, 90, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at Anderson Area Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Old Stone Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Lloyd, a native of Cross Anchor, was a retired secretary with Clemson University Extension Service and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, James W. Lloyd, Alexandria, Va., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
