BELVEDERE -- Mr. George B. Lamar Sr., of 526 Beulah Ave., died Friday, March 6, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rowland Funeral Home with the Rev. Sherrell Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta.
Mr. Lamar, a native of Richmond County, was a retired paint contractor and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Curtis Baptist Church and National Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Lou H. Lamar; four sons, George B. Lamar Jr., North Charleston, David P. Lamar, Augusta, John B. Lamar, Martinez, and Philip L. Lamar, North Augusta; two daughters, Karen Ann Thomas, North Augusta, and Sarah E. Hickman, Greenwood; one brother, Barney D. Lamar Jr., Augusta; two sisters, Gloria Sperry, Farmville, Va., and Martha Bunkley, Mississippi; and 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

WILSON, N.C. -- Mr. W. Carnell Lamm Sr., 75, died Friday, March 6, 1998, at Duke Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.
Mr. Lamm was retired from Export Leaf Tobacco Co.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Taylor Lamm; three sons, W. Carnell Lamm Jr., Kinston, J. Richard Lamm, Greenville, and Leon T. Lamm, Augusta; four brothers, Floyd Lamm, Troy Lamm and H. Hulen Lamm, all of Wilson, and Paul D. Lamm, Lucama; two sisters, Elsie Bunn, Wilson, and Judy Carolyn Smith, Fremont; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Martin, a native of Danburg, Ga., was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church West, Charlotte.
Survivors include one cousin, Jimmy Anderson, Washington; and one niece, Sarah Grier, Charlotte.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Mr. J.B. Morris, 70, died Friday, March 6, 1998.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Griffin-Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
Mr. Morris was retired as a regional manager with Thermogas Companies of Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. He also worked for LP Gas Industry.
Survivors include his wife, Aline Morris; two sons, Brian Morris and Richard Morris; one daughter, Gwendolyn J. Morgan; one sister, Willie Mae Wewers; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

WASHINGTON -- Mr. Rubin ``Coon" Oliphant, 69, died Monday, March 2, 1998, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Bethel Holiness Church, Johnston, S.C., with the Revs. Winston Oliphant and Sara Oliphant officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Johnston.
Mr. Oliphant, a native of Edgefield County, S.C., was a retired brickmason and a member of Thirteenth Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Oliphant; two sons, Robert Oliphant, Fort Washington, Md., and Gilbert Oliphant, North Augusta; one daughter, Ruby Sanders, Denmark, S.C.; one stepson, Willie Mealing, Trenton, S.C.; one sister, Lizzie Lanham, Edgefield; two half-brothers, Wilbert Dorn and Norman Dorn, both of Edgefield; one half-sister, Jonan Dorn; his stepmother, Stella Dorn, Edgefield; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Peggy Meggs Preetorius, 59, of 723 Stillwater Drive, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998, at her residence.

Mrs. Preetorius, a native of Clarkton, N.C., was a registered nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of Covenanters Class. She was a member of Auxiliary Chaplain of Augusta and South/West Gideon Camp, and was president of the Augusta Chapter of Retired Officers Association Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Preetorius; one son, Greg Preetorius, Evans; two daughters, Kristin P. Thompson, Little Rock, Ark., and Janet P. Garon, New Market, Md.; one brother, Norwood Meggs, Clarkton; two sisters, Marilyn Lewis, Raleigh, N.C., and Opal Smith, Clarkton; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Roberson, a native of Swainsboro, Ga., was retired from DuPont as a maintenance supervisor and was a member of Five Points Baptist Church, where he was a member of the men's Bible class. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Albert Pike Masonic Lodge No. 174 Ancient Free Masons and Painter and Allied Trade Local Union No. 1756.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara McCullough, Fernandina Beach; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Herndon, Butch Randall, Marvin Herndon, Dave Funderburg Jr., Gary Herndon and Jody Clark.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Albert Pike Masonic Lodge No. 174 Ancient Free Masons.

Mrs. Rowe, a native of Little Rock, Ark., was a retired licensed practical nurse and a Lutheran.
Survivors include two sons, William Edward McGee Jr., Evans, and Johnnie Richard Rowe Sr., Hephzibah; one daughter, Judith Louise Newman, Augusta; one brother, Johnny Chumley, Augusta; two sisters, Cassandra Malone and Agnes Pearlstein, both of Augusta; and 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
